The menu is appealing, with a great variety of options, and the restaurant is clean and well-maintained. I sat at the bar, and both the drinks and food were excellent. The only downside was the service. It was a Thursday, and they seemed to be short-staffed. We waited quite a while to be served, and the guests around us appeared to be experiencing the same issue. So I've been to a few for these locations now in New York and also tried to one in New Jersey and Florida. This one by far is on the lower ranks than the others, not the best service first we had a reservation for a certain time and had to wait another 25-30 minutes before even getting that table reservation which defeats the purpose, they also lacked providing updates we had to ask what is going on or what the update was. There was no proactive following up. When we were finally seated the you know the usual they bring out a bunch of meats for you to try, the issue was to a flying by us so we had to flag them down on multiple occasions. The experience is having your green coaster up so they know that you're ready for more meats but if you're not looking at it that defeats the purpose and experience. The service sucks - took them 20 min to bring us a plate for the meat - took another 20 mins for the rodizio to start half the time the staff with the rodizio just walks by the table- super inexperienced. The sides are good, but always a trick to get you full on higher margin foods. I was really disappointed with the food. Aside from the fact that it feels like there is extremely little steak offered vs chicken/pork/sausage, the steak itself was poor. Every slice we got was well done or extremely well done, so it was super dry. I had to saw back and forth to cut the steak, which is just sad for something im paying significant money for. For context this is my first time visiting fogo de chao but not my first time having Brazilian food/bbq. The vibe of the restaurant is kind of upscale casual. My go‑to happy hour spot has been feeling different lately. The service has become inconsistent, and it seems like they're struggling to keep staff -- the turnover is noticeable. Some team members even greet you with an attitude when you walk in, which takes away from the welcoming vibe this place used to have. What keeps me coming back is the bar staff, especially Dee. She's always warm, attentive, and knows how to smooth things over when things feel off. Dee is the reason this place still feels worth visiting. We attended a dinner party in one of their private rooms, about 25 people. This was my first visit and it was worth it. The servers were so friendly and helpful. From the start the rodizio meat just kept coming. It was well seasoned and absolutely delicious. I even enjoyed the lamb which I rarely eat. The marketplace salad bar was ok, they do offer many options, but I opted for potato salad and cucumber salad. The pao de queijo - cheese bread - on the table was yummy, so were the fried yellow plantains and fried yucca sticks. If you're a meat lover then this is the place for you. The worst service I ever experienced in my life. One waiter asked if our bread came, I said no he said okay it will be coming. Another server goes oh you didn't get your bread yet. The ambience is nice! The service is fantastic. My friend and I went for the $49 lunch buffet special. The salad buffet was unimpressive to me. The meat at first was incredible, minus the picanha, really wasn't a fan of that one at all, too gamey and I didn't love the texture. After a few rounds of blissful meat and just as we were warming up there was a span of maybe 20 minutes where no meat came around so we were ready to pounce. Took my mom here for restaurant week on a Wednesday and stood at the entrance with a delivery person for at least 15 minutes. A worker passed by, came back and still did not check up on us. It was odd because it didn't seem busy. When we were finally seated, we felt a draft all night since the wall seemed like they open to the mall and it was across from the street exit doors. Our party was right on time at 5:30 so I walked to the host and informed him we were all here. The host mentioned the table was still getting ready. For drinks I ordered the strawberry Hibiscus caipirinha the drinks was watered down. The problem I had was with the waitress she took a long time taking the tables order. The table was told since the party brought there own birthday cake the restaurant does not provide to go containers. Average all around. The hostess, to start, was lovely- professional and quick to get us settled once the full party arrived. But once seated, we unfortunately had the most incompetent waiter. That said, the servers that came around to serve the meats were great- friendly, generous with their cuts, quick to make eye contact, and professional.
