Got to try this gem during restaurant week and I was pleased. Service was amazing the bartender was so accommodating and made us feel so welcome. The ambiance gives an old tavern feel but I loved it. Definitely felt like visiting someone's home. I tried the mussels which were very delicious and light in a buttery garlic white wine sauce. The calamari was good I loved the vodka sauce it was accompanied by. I got the ribeye dinner which was topped with caramelized onions and potatoes. The ribeye was juicy and flavorful but portion was small I guess because it was a restaurant week special but still good nonetheless. My cousin got the shrimp pesto pasta which was also delicious fresh Italian taste. We got a lychee mock tail that the bartender recommended so delicious save refreshing. Good Food that is truly a local gem. The decor is old school with dark cloth seating and tables. The service was spot on. Look the truth is this place is definitely local place. Everybody knows each other and if you're going there for dinner, they definitely know you're not local. Now that being said, the food was delicious. I had the bone marrow that was spot on. I had the ribeye steak best underrated steak in the world. It was delicious. My partner he had the fillet mignon I asked for 14 ounces didn't have one so he had two 7 ounces again great Realistically, it's a nice place to get a good steak and a good meal and the food was good. It wasn't a 10 out of 10, but it was damn good. I gave this place a five star because there was a 4.5 star you're going there for the food. Everything is moderately priced dinner for two with date and a drink will cost you roughly $250 with tip but you can't go wrong and that's with dessert and all the good things to go with it. They had a decent scotch selection and since I didn't really take that many photos because I was having too much fun with the locals that I forgot to take photos Just a good place with good people and good food what more could you ask for I'm in Brooklyn for Christ sake and the food was delicious. I wanted to go to a steakhouse for restaurant week, but decided to stay in Brooklyn due to not wanting to pay that congestion pricing nonsense lol. This place is a little small for a steakhouse. The steak was just okay. It says it was a ribeye, but it didn't seem like it to me. Normally steaks i get at steakhouses have a little bit of height and weight to them. This one was just a flat piece of steak covered with onions and they gave a spoonful of mashed potatoes as you can barely see on the side of the plate. The steak wasn't bad, but I've had better. Would i come back for the food, probably not. But the drinks were good. I'll stick to my fav steakhouses cus this one wasn't it for me. The service was okay. Even with a reservation, we still waited about 30 mins for our table to be ready. Our reservation was for 9pm. I barely remember the waiter, so i can't say if that service was good or bad. On an overnighter for a cool concert in Brooklyn, Yelp assisted me with finding this small Steakhouse in the big city! After seeing the 4.5 star rating, I knew this was the perfect place for a pre-concert meal in close proximity to the Barclays Center. Brooklyn has so many dope spots, Flatiron better deliver and they did! Dimly lit, impeccable service, this place is giving off NYC swag to the fullest! I came here for Restaurant Week because their menu looked good. My meal ended in disappointment. The staff was nice, but I had to wait about 15 minutes for a server to take my order. The portion sizes were very small. Very dainty. The octopus leg was okay; the steak was tasty and decently sized, although the sides totaled to one bite each and the mashed potatoes had chunks of crunch in it. The dessert chocolate mousse cake reminded me of desserts from the supermarket. Definitely came from Sysco or similar. It came out cold enough that little globules of fat congealed into clusters on the top. Everything was edible. I finished my food and left to get pizza because I was not full. They do have a discount if you pay in cash. I liked the little touch lamps, however the rest of the interior could use some work. The walls, floor, furniture, and lighting are all very dark and make the space feel both cavernous and cold. In search of a great steak delivery spot, I found Flatiron Restaurant on Grubhub. I was impressed by the many great reviews based on dine in food and service. So could they achieve the same level of excellence for delivery? Overall I would say yes except for the French fries that came with the meal. I wish there was an option to choose a vegetable instead of fries. The fries simply don't travel well. The steak was delicious and the peppercorn sauce was really good ! 3.5 stars. The four of us came here for dinner on a Friday evening. While the food was very tasty, I have to preface my praise by saying this: the timing was completely out of whack. My friend and I got our burgers before we received our sides and apps. Our other two friends had to wait longer to get their entrees, so our food just sat there getting colder as we waited. Our waiter said the rest of the food would be out in five minutes, but it didn't actually arrive until closer to 15-20 minutes later. And we had requested medium rare for our burgers and they were an overcooked medium. It was a shaky start for sure. That being said, my Prime Angus Burger was delicious with the jalapeño bacon jam (I couldn't really taste the jalapeño but oh well), gruyere, avocado, and crushed tomatoes. It hit all the texture and flavor notes: crispy, smooth, refreshing, with a slight sweetness that brought out the meatiness of the burger. The hunter's gravy on my friend's Wild Burger was quite good, though he was only okay with his meal. My other friend's 7-ounce signature Flatiron wagyu steak was pricey for such a tiny portion. He said it was a bit overcooked as well, and regardless of how good the quality may have been, he was mostly a little grumpy that he was still hungry afterward. Our fourth friend got the 12-ounce New York strip steak, which was juicy and cooked as requested. We were all fans of the poblano macaroni and cheese. It was cheesy and creamy but not overwhelming, and the cavatappi was perfectly al dente. The applewood pork belly was also fantastic with that maple-bourbon glaze. It was quite smoky and meaty, albeit a little tougher than expected, almost like thick-cut jerky. My food was for the most part delicious, so I could see myself coming back... but the timing and cook of the meats give me pause. A steakhouse in Park Slope? We had to check it out. I've been to a few steakhouses around this fair city, and I feel like you should know this isn't a classic steakhouse experience like you may expect from a Luger's, Keen's, Wolfgang's, etc. The space is less plush, less wood-paneled, less stodgy. What Flatiron does provide, is great food, and great service from some old-school Brooklynites (with the accents to match). It's more of a restaurant that nails steaks than a steakhouse, in my opinion (which isn't worth much). The staff were all dressed well, as people from a previous era used to (love the hats), and they were here to please. Regardless of the hairs I'm splitting, they nail the two things I need from a steakhouse: 1. The martini. It's not a steakhouse without a bucketful of liquor to start. They make a lovely one, and I appreciate the lack of pretension when they served it. There wasn't a precious little sidecar dropped alongside the ridiculous glass (martini glasses are absurd, and wonderful). The bartender walked over with the shaker and let me know he had more in there, and if I threw some of the full-to-the-brim glass back immediately, he'd pour in the rest. 2. The meats. The sides and starters were all good, but the meats are what matter at a steakhouse. The burger was excellent. The porterhouse special was perfect. But the pork chop...huge, juicy, served in some kind of apple glaze...it stole the show. I'll be back for that pork chop and a martini (and maybe a side of burger), even if I just have to sit at the bar because my friends can't come with. read more

Steakhouse that feels like more of a casual restaurant and bar. Very approachable menu. They had about twenty beers on draft with a mix of macros, imports, and crafts. Fair selection of whiskeys too either a focus on American distilleries; they had a particularly good picks from Michter's though they were pricey. I had a couple German beers: a Pilsner by Radeberger and a Kellerbier by Hofbrau. We started with their bread with truffle butter. It's a fine starter. Not a knock on this restaurant, but I still remember when bread was complimentary. The good ole days. We decided to go with a big main course. Three of us shared the 40 oz porterhouse with sides of mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, roasted cauliflower, and shrimp in a cream sauce. We ordered the steak medium rare and it was cooked on point. It was served in a beautifully seasoned Lodge cast iron skillet and topped with butter. My favorite sides were the mashed potatoes and the macaroni and cheese. The mashed potatoes had an herb or seasoning in it that gave it a distinctive flavor. I wasn't quite able to decipher what it was. The macaroni and cheese had poblanos in it giving a very mild and slight sweetness pepperyness to the dish. It was saucey without being too creamy. The food was ready fairly quickly. Service made sure to check up on us to ensure everything was to our liking. This is a great place and everytime i come I have a lovely time!! Me and a friend came here for dinner. We were immediately greeted with smiles and felt very welcomed!! It's a nice size space with good seating and a full bar. I have tried a few things off the menu and have not been disappointed once. I do indulge in the pork belly/thickest cut bacon with a BBQ glaze, it's delicious. To my surprise the mac & cheese wasn't bad either. We came here recently for dinner and it was so good that I had to return there on my way home from work this week for dinner. The Dry-Aged Burger & Truffle Fries that I devoured was as equally as delicious as it was when I had it the first time. As I write this review, I am actually craving one of their burgers right now-lol. Flatiron 2 Restaurant is close.to the F & G train 4th Avenue - 9th Street station stop and one could also take the F or G train to 7th Avenue and walk from that station as well. Flatiron is close to other great places including Chela Modern Mexican and 5th Avenue has lots of cool businesses. Everytime that you walk into Flatiron 2, you are given the warmest greeting from Manager / Bartender Extraordinaire Nikki, from Chris (hope that I spelled Chris' name correctly) and / or from other staff that happen to graciously come to your table. Flatiron 2 Restaurant has elegant decor from the artwok on their walls to the beautiful lighting fixtures to their classically styled bar area. Old-School Film Clips are shown on the tv near the bar area and they have comfortable seating. There is a vast selection of Wines, Beers & other Spirits. Nikki created an absolutely marvelous PAVV Cocktail (he created it there on the spot). It had Pineapple Juice, Amaretto and Vanilla Vodka and it was nice, smooth and creamy. Appetizers including Macaroni and Cheese, Truffle Fries, Pork Belly, etc. are there to order as possible Starters. Flatiron 2 uses Snake River Farms, American Wagout and USDA Prime Meat f& above for their Steaks. Salmon, Chicken and Burgers are also entree items included on their menu. I have had the Dry Aged Burger (Jalapeno Bacon Jam, Gruyere Cheese & Crushed Tomato) & their crisoy Truffle Fries twice so far and the Burger is flavorful, juicy and cooked to perfection. The Truffle Fries paired well w/ my Dry Aged Burger. This was a last minute decision to visit. Reading through some of the other reviews a general theme of portion size was common and service was slow. Steak was somewhat dry, salmon was also dry. If the menus says accompanying veg then bring with veg and be generous. Maybe a good local spot for a burger but will pass on the steaks. read more

I've eaten here several times, and every experience was amazing. The food is top quality, and the service exceptional. The owner Nick (I call him Nikki!) is almost always around in his black fedora hat, making sure every guest has an amazing experience. The mussels in white sauce are by far the best I've had in years--they just melt in your mouth like butter. I'm a pasta fan, and the gnocchi is second to none. For restaurant week, I dared to order the prime rib, and I've never had a better steak...and I'm very picky about steak. We really wanted to like, and support, a local place, and finally tried it just after thnx giving. We were hoping for something good, or at least decent at the least. But we were wary of the very high prices here since it opened; Service was good. But despite being even more expensive than virtually all of the very best places to get steak in Park Slope; it was otherwise not good at all. Atmosphere: The place has an incredibly bad, sour, smell everywhere. Almost unbearable. Like vomit, or maybe just badly chosen cleaning product hopefully. Dining room was awful; no color or quality materials in sight at all. Like someone's drab, cheap looking, moldy basement rec room. Obviously less than Zero effort and imagination behind it for max profit. Most importantly; Food was mediocre to be kind. Presentation was cartoonishly basic. Even for a "Steak" place. Medium rare steak was totally raw inside. And overly salted which almost ruined it completely for us. Sides were unsatisfying. VERY small. Super bland and basic. Extra brandy sauce for additional $ was disgustingly sweet and inedible. No idea what was actually in it. And all was very, very $$$$ Not sure what positive reviewers saw in this place. read more

But they sat us and didn't come back for about 10 minutes with menus. Then when they came back another 10-15 minutes later they went straight into " do you know what you want?" .... I would have liked to order a drink 5 min ago tbh. But moving on. Truffle fries soggy , regular fries decent. Bone marrow was ok. Calamari was undercooked and soft. My steak was the NY strip which tasted good but had a huge piece or cartilage through it. Not the best quality of meat. Wine was great, nice list as well. My husband and I stumbled upon this new steakhouse and it did not disappoint. The food was amazing! We both had the rib eye and mashed potatoes. Everything was flavorful and fresh. The service was amazing. Our sever gave us the specials of the day and was so attentive. There was a bartender there who was amazing, he gave my husband a free shot for his birthday. He was so sweet. The inside was dim and the mood was set. For a minute I forgot it was 5 o clock in the afternoon, the only thing I would say is that I'm not too much a fan of the cloth chairs. Came here with my dad and brother for a Father's Day weekend meal. Service was incredibly slow. Our waiter was also working the bar making drinks at the same time. Nice guy but had half the staff they needed. Ordered some apps, steaks, sides dessert and 5 cocktails total and it came to $390 subtotal. Fine, food was pretty good, though don't order the Wagyu, it's definitely not worth it. Was not as good as the filet mignon I usually get for much less. The real problem started when I got the bill. The $390 subtotal bill ended up being $490 total because it automatically included (with no warning) a $20 "non-cash adjustment" and an $80 gratuity. I was planning to tip more than this despite the slow service, but when I asked the manager why there was an extra $100 automatically added to my bill, the response was insane. He told me 1. The prices on the menu are only if you pay cash, and if you use a credit card we charge you and extra $20 (you have to let me know that before i order and decide to use a credit card) 2. We automatically charge a tip to all parties of 4 or more. When I explained that we only had 3 in our party and that 3 is less than 4, he said well we had to charge you the automatic tip because you're sitting at a table with 4 chairs (like WTF are you serious)?? Whether an auto tip is added depends on the table we seat your party of 3 at?!? And 3. He then said, I can take it off if you really want, but it's going to take 4 days. Do you really want me to take off this additional $100 charge off your bill. Yes, yes I do want this BS charge off my bill. Flatiron is casual steakhouse with a full bar. We ordered the bone marrow as an appetizer and filet mignon with mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious and our waiter was very tentative. After our meal we decided to move to the bar for after dinner cocktails where we met the amazing owner bartender Nick. Met up with some college friends in NY and we ended up sitting at the bar in Flatiron. Nicky was the best bartender and provided top notch customer service. We ordered most of the appetizers and every one of them were great. I had the Italian Beef which was excellent and my friends got the bison burger and loved them. Atmosphere was great and welcoming and the locals were friendly and shared stories and things to do in Brooklyn. Do yourself a favor and visit Flatiron. As we shared the Park Slope Dip sandwich and side of mashed potatoes, we already started talking about how soon we can come back to order it all again.
