Ordered the grilled oysters, deviled eggs, crawfish queso, and large seafood gumbo to eat. I was out and about in the neighborhood and decided to stop in my all time fav spot for happy hour. The happy hour is Everyday from 5-6:30 and I believ All day on Tuesdays!!! The entrance has changed to Atlantic now instead of the side door. On the menu I noticed that they have added lobster roll. The inside is still cozy and vibe is still nice; service is always fast. I ordered as usuall baked oysters which were very good, I had a check in free side offer and I got the garlic noodles-they were everything so so good, then I ordered the wings, and they were good as well. For my drink I had the Bideleria adult Capri, and the Bayou Mambo which is a new cocktail both drinks were good. Then Jose the bartender made me the Purple Love and I did fall in love, I liked it a lot. I hope they put it on the menu. I have missed this place and i will try to visit more often. The boudin balls and popcorn crawfish were delicious, and I tried the freshly shucked oysters, which were decent but not standout. We came here one day to try their happy hour at extremely low prices! Upon entering it was quite busy so they sat us in the back near the bar which was a lot more quieter than the front. We paid $1.50 for each oyster and $2 for the grilled ones and $1 per chicken wings! Since I was on an alcohol cleanse I ordered the Louisiana unsweetened tea but it was quite expensive and only for a normal iced tea... I felt like I'm definitely gonna pass on this one next time. It was strong enough but I could probably make this at home, ngl. The oysters were fresh and tasted fine... the real winner of this place is actually the grilled oysters. Those were worth every penny! Along with the chicken wings! The chicken wings were super crispy but not in a thick breaded way which is exactly what I like! I love the food and drinks! The location where it is (Manhattan location) is a hot spot and you'll also be able to find things to do after. We went to Claw Daddy's to celebrate a birthday. Ambiance: I want to start out by saying that their music playlist is fire. Lol. The place has two areas, one for sitting down to eat and the other is the bar area. The ambiance in the sitting area is comfortable enough for families and friends to enjoy. Food: the food was ok, it wasn't out of the ballpark good, but it was good enough that I wouldn't mind going back for happy hour oysters and drinks. The service was ok as well. They were very nice but they were not on top of their game. They forgot a few things, we had to let them know a few times, and in the end we just took the "L" and ate the boil without the nutcracker (I googled it...the tool to crack lobster and crab is known as a nutcracker...lol). Overall, I think the experience was ok. It's good for families but the prices are typical nyc prices on the high side. I had high expectations for this place as I've been wanting to try it for a while. We came for their happy hour, which online says it's all day on Tuesday and until 7:30 on all other days. However, when we arrived on a Tuesday, it seems like they changed their policies and it did indeed end on 7:30. We ordered the raw oysters, the wings, and the grilled clams. The food took quite a while to come out, so we weren't able to order more before the happy hour ended. The raw oysters were probably the worst oysters I've ever had. They were between room temperature and warm, despite being on a bed of ice so I'm guessing they were sitting out for a while. With one taste, I knew these were definitely not fresh. They were very fishy and tasted old. Some of them also looked a bit strange. My friend and I were genuinely worried that we'd get food poisoning from them. The grilled clams were slightly better, but still quite small for what you get. They were covered in a butter Parmesan sauce, but I wish they were saucier and juicier. They were pretty average in my opinion. The redeeming part of the meal were the wings, as they were perfectly crispy and seasoned. They came with ranch sauce and they had a lot of meat on the bones and were still juicy. I wish we skipped the seafood all together and just ordered more wings. As huge seafood boil fans we were excited to try Claw Daddy's for the first time and for the most part were very pleased (thanks for the Yelp free side coupon!). We loved the former boil place and CD's is much more spacious and filled out with seating including booths. Service was fast and friendly (we came on the later side on a Saturday night and had no wait). Snow crab boil is the reason we came, and it was great. We tried the medium Cajun (quite spicy) and mild garlic butter sauces. The crab was meaty, sweet and all around cooked really perfectly. Props to CD's for providing the crucial crab tool, crab scissors! The rest of our food was fine but not same level as the crab: garlic butter shrimp (ok but over cooked), Cajun fries (good and not greasy, but maybe not a standout). Caught up with a friend on a Sunday evening at Claw Daddy's. We had reservations, but as large as this place is, I don't think it was really needed. I was a bit taken aback when I walked up to the door and saw an actual door guy. I was confused as to whether I was at a restaurant or a club, but maybe Claw Daddy's has that type of atmosphere on the weekends. My friend and I both ordered the claw boil, as well as a couple of appetizers and drinks. The great thing about this spot is that happy hour is offered every day, including weekends. The one thing that annoyed me - I checked in on Yelp to redeem the check-in offer, which was one free side dish. For some reason, the app was showing that I checked in, but wouldn't pull up the actual redemption page. The waiter could see that I hit the check-in button and was checked in, and could not pull up the offer page, and still wouldn't honor the deal. We got the sides anyway, but I thought this was a missed opportunity to offer some good customer service. Aside from that, the sauce on the seafood was meh. I've had way better. This place is amazing. I am from California so grew up on Boiling Crab and thought their sauce was the best I had had, but now the Claw Daddy's Special sauce is by far my favorite. I even asked to take my leftover sauce home to try to cook some of my own shrimps in it. I have been here several times since and it never disappoints. Ah what can I say, claw daddy is our regular date night spot because of my love for seafood. We go there at least once a month. There's security at the front door which make you feel safe immediately, the hostesses are always super nice and kind, there times we've showed up way before our reservations time and they still seated us. The ambiance is always great, it feels like you're walking into a retro kitchen, wooden panels, news paper wall paper and hints of reds and pink. I love southern food so they never disappoint, because the food is always consistent. This spot was talked about highly in NY so upon a short visit I decided to try the restaurant out. We were seated as a group of four and started to order our drinks. After we started to go through the menu and had a plethora of questions as far as the manner in which they do these combinations, coming from the south were used to adding headless shrimp (as an option), sausage ect ect and their not nearly as expensive or were not charges for add one like potato's and corn. Anyway we decided to order our meal and then more issues arised. The meal came before the drinks which was VERY unusual and something that has almost never happened to me before. Then the meal came and it was just basic, the seafood didn't seem to soak up all the seasonings and then based of what was already happening I decided to check the shrimp and it was not deveined. It all made sense to me now, over priced food and then worst poorly prepared. The liquor and the service was possible the best part of the experience. I believe this restaurant to be as big as it is only because ,well, it's seafood. Any other reason then it wouldn't be as good. I wouldn't come back what so ever, I don't even want to talk about what the bill looked like. It just missed the mark for me. I also tried the deviled egg and it wasn't flavorful. I have made better. The mardi gras drink was good. My friend definitely enjoyed and had a buzz after 2. I ordered a pound of snow crab in the Claw Daddy sauce (which is a mixture of all the sauces) in the spicy level. It was definitely spicy but i wasn't so much impressed with the flavor. I think next time I'd choose something else. They do however give you a good amount and don't cheat you. Felt like compared to the boil you get more. So that was a plus.
