Made the trek out here from Manhattan to celebrate a dear friend's birthday, and am so glad I did! The location is definitely out of the way but once you find it - you find yourself intrigued and wanting to come in based on the decor and ambiance you can see from the windows. It has the cutest little table nooks and a very dark and sleek yet vintage feel once you're inside, given the lighting. I appreciate the customization in being able to order a drink I wanted which was a simple Jameson and ginger ale. But they did offer a cute little menu of things to order as well as were vending some food near the bar which was also great to see. Overall, I appreciated the vibe and felt pretty comfortable as someone who is non-binary entering a new space for the first time. The music and DJ at the time was also really grate and I assume it's a rotating theme or DJ for each night.

Ambiance was awesome! Service was great! Location is sketchy. But highly recommend the Mermaids non alcoholic beverage. Delicious!

I was visiting from out-of-town and noticed this bar was only a couple blocks from where I was staying so I figured I'd check it out. The drinks were fantastic, among the best I've had in New York. I had the Nightingale (a gin sour riff with honey-rosemary syrup) and a Shade of Jade (sort of like an alcoholic green juice, quite refreshing and nearly healthy).

Really nice bar, giving speakeasy vibes. The drinks are really strong and the staff is super friendly. They have open mic night on Sunday's. Will definitely come back!

They have the best bourbon cocktail in Bushwick. The Occult Fashioned is memorable. Really impressive. Great job, Kino!!!

The drinks are reasonably priced, and I highly recommend the Negroni--it was excellent. Our bartender was friendly, attentive, and made everyone feel welcome. One of the bar's most charming features is that it's service-animal friendly. During our visit, a friendly husky wandered around greeting patrons, adding to the relaxed, neighborhood feel. They also have a resident kitten named Whisky, who was equally sociable after waking from his nap. The food menu is small, but the pigs in a blanket were surprisingly delicious. Another nice touch is that they encourage guests to bring in food from nearby restaurants, making it easy to enjoy a meal alongside your drinks. The Evergreen is a cozy neighborhood dive bar tucked into a residential corner of Bushwick, at the intersection of Moffat Street and Evergreen Avenue--a fitting inspiration for its name. The interior has a dark, rustic character that feels authentic and inviting. Open until 4:00 AM every night, it's an ideal spot for both an after-work drink and a late-night gathering. The bar is welcoming to everyone and has a great atmosphere. There are plenty of ways to stay entertained with shuffleboard, pinball machines, and arcade games, with a small outdoor space perfect for summer nights. Overall, The Evergreen is a friendly, unpretentious neighborhood gem with great drinks, warm hospitality, and plenty of personality. I'll definitely be returning.

It's also helpful when you have a bartender or staff in general that genuinely engages with you and is excited that you are enjoying yourself. However, I was quickly proven wrong. Not only was the service topnotch, but the drinks were surprisingly delicious and refreshing. There's a ton of options which is also surprising considering the tap only format. Upon further reflection of how tiny the bar is, it makes sense why they would go this route. It would be challenging for one person let alone two to be behind that bar shaking and stirring. I also heard there's a back area with more seating but we didn't explore much further than the front bar stool seating. Regardless, the theme is nice with everything attributable to their "laboratory" ambience. Everything is served in beakers or similar glasses. It can get a bit crowded sitting at the bar as that's where everyone orders drinks but otherwise this was quite enjoyable. Will definitely keep on the list for HH.
