Went here because it was recommended to me and my friend and they had downeast cider which is some of my favorite cider ever!! They have some fun arcade games and we played some super smash bros. We had the best time here and my friend won twice on the claw machine. Would come here again.

The food is amazing! I had grilled cactus tacos and al pastor tacos, wow! Nice selection on draft of microbrews. Outdoor seating is great, with a cool vibe inside. Lots of vintage arcade games! I'm visiting Brooklyn and will definitely be back to enjoy relaxing and enjoying the atmosphere of New York City.

I'm a sucker for anything passion fruit and the star fruit cocktail went down far too easy haha! Fun vibe, good prices. Having mr taco there is definitely necessary for any kind of snack or food, so not sure to include them here in this review or not, but it's a solid offering.

This place is the most fun. Incredible 90s ambience. Was hopping on a Wednesday night. We loved the 3 little piggies nachos with the added verde salsa... plenty for two people. Got seating right away. I really enjoyed my $8 blood orange pale ale. Such a cool and casual vibe. Lots of outdoor seating for those that didn't get a spot indoors. If I lived in the area... I would be here all the time! The bartenders were super friendly and made such a welcoming environment.

I FREAKING LOVE THIS PLACE!! I came here for the first time yesterday for a little early birthday celebration. It was my first time here. I've been missing out!! It's very easy to get here from the surrounding areas. The Chauncey stop on the J train is two blocks away. Along with the B20 & 60 buses. You can't miss it from the street. It's a huge pink building on the corner. They have an enormous covered outdoor seating section. Must be nice in the warmer months. There's plenty of room inside as well. The bar is long and has lots of seating. They have various kinds of seating. A few tables and stools and booth seating. They also have a narrow, winding staircase that leads up to a second floor with more seating. The ambiance was chill and crazy friendly. Everyone who works here was great! They light up and revolve a disco ball as the hours pass. The music when I was here leaned more towards indie pop with some New Wave here and there. They have a jukebox, but I don't think it was functional. On the left side of the bar, they have boardgames. I saw The Secret World of Alex Mac, Girl Talk, a New Kids on the Block one... had a good variety. I started off with a well Gin and Tonic. Wasn't the best, but I suppose that was my fault for getting the well Gin. My second drink was MUCH better. They have 2 frozen drinks. I got the Pain Killer with a shot of Goslings dark rum. The Pain Killer is Pina Colada with orange jjuice. That drink was !! The Great South Bay Tipsy Tea I also had there was the best alcoholic tea that I've had. Their cocktail menu is vast, and they have a great selection of cans and stuff on tap. Also a pretty decent wine selection. There's also a bucket of free condoms on the bar if you need. In the back is the game room, and Mr. Taco kitchen. They have Pac Man and a few other arcade games along with pinball and a claw machine game that was pretty easy to play since I was able to grab 2 stuffed octopuses! The kitchen opens up at 4, and it has a pretty big Mexian menu. I had the grilled shrimp bowl with a side of off the cob street corn. Oh my gosh, that food was absolutely YUMMY! My bowl was actually served in a ceramic bowl. The portions were generous, and my meal was under $20. I tried some of my friends' fries, and they were delicious as well. Perfectly cooked, huge, and fluffy. The kitchen also delivers! The place is spotless. I think there were two single bathrooms in the place. The one I went to was clean, stocked, and fully functional. Great food, friendly atmosphere, and good times. Can't get better than that!

Amazing experience!! From the friendly and inviting service to the amazing selection of drinks they are. Stopped in to have a drink since I was in the area and when I tell you this is a hidden gem I'm so happy I learned about! From the disco ball, to the live dj down to the game room with arcade and claw machines, will be happily returning and letting others know of this place!

I came here for bed stuy clothing swap with was packed. The bar has a call theme, but no you don't skate here. The bartender was very nice and poured delicious drinks. I didn't eat the food but they had a window in the back where you could walk up and order Mexican.

Covid Review: Solid place with even more solid drinks. Self-proclaimed as a cocktail bar first then amusement center second. They actually make the drinks when ordered instead of serving from large pre-made vats typical in the the age of Corona. Even better, drinks are served in real barware instead of plastic. This place will be an amusement center and skating rink eventually but, you know, COVID. Kitchen is closed on Sundays so only cold food served or you can bring some in. Lovely large patio out front. Food looks gnarly and I recommend "The Chaperone" as a drink.

Best bar in New York! Incredible staff, great food, vibes for days, a place to see every type of New Yorker in an inclusive, inviting environment.

All Night Skate is a great place to grab a quick drink or have a casual night with friends. The bar's theme is diner, which I had never seen before. Very cute! I ordered the Prom Night drink. If you aren't into Mezcal, you probably wouldn't like this. The Mezcal is pretty distinct in this drink. The pomegranate balances it out, but it is still recognizable. We ordered a basket of fries ($8). Just your average fries - nothing spectator but nothing terrible. Overall, I enjoyed my experience here, and I am certainly bound to come back!

This show was the first of two in the USA with the second being on the West Coast. It would start on the very early side (3PM) so I headed out there via the MTA and while the ride was long, it was more straightforward than I would have first thought. There are currently quite a few clubs for shows like this in Bushwick and Williamsburg but today's adventure was going to be my very first time at Purgatory. Once onsite, I went in to meet with the artists manager since I was going to do some PiercingMetal stuff at the show. The bar part was not yet open but its a nice sized bar with plenty of chairs around it and a couple of smaller lounge areas that I really liked the vibe of. Outside in the front there were a number of small tables and chairs forming a sort of patio space. Their rather remote location probably let's them do this with relative ease and the train is right near them so if you're out there you can watch them go back to the city or deeper into Brooklyn. There was also a photo booth area downstairs if you like that kind of stuff. Upstairs is a small but rather awesome concert/event space. The stage is a tight one and I felt that the room itself would fit about 75 people. Spatially speaking, if you've a three piece of guitars, singer and drums you'd be okay but the kit needs to be small or digital and you need to be mindful of the space you have to share. This might be great for an intimate acoustic event or even a live podcast of some kind. I felt that the lighting was good for the artist I got to see and the sound was solid and a nice surprise. There is an upstairs area reachable by a gated stairwell but I think this is for tech and artists waiting to go on stage. There is also a small bar upstairs and an alcove for artists to sell merchandise. I was there to see an artist from Japan named Isiliel, and this was one of her two US shows. I didn't see any notion of food being served at this place so I apologize if they do and I didn't make note of that. There was an open Wi-Fi signal which let me do some social media between groups. Depending on who the performance is from I'd definitely come here again. I don't know the general area so cannot even determine what other options might be around here but the folks behind Purgatory have really set up a cool spot.

The tacos here live up to the hype!…read more My friends and I came here for dinner on a weeknight. Around 6:30pm, it was easy for the four of us to snag a table in the back, near the back patio, but there is some seating in the front part of the restaurant as well. I ordered one of their mezcal cocktails with a Tajín rim (El Amante) which was yummy then we started with an order of chips and salsa, chips and guacamole and esquites. The esquites was fantastic, but we wished the guac was larger and came with more chips. For my entree, I ordered a tripa taco and a cecina taco. I cannot decide between a favorite because they were both so good. The tripa was crispy and tender in all the right places. I was worried about the cecina taco being too salty but that wasn't the case, it was perfection. We all appreciated how they served each taco with double corn tortillas, so they held up well. And of course, we couldn't leave without trying the churros. They were just the right size 2 people to share in my opinion but we were all pretty satisfied by then so we were ok splitting 4 ways. Our waiter was really funny and checked up on us regularly. The music here was also great (a lot of Bad Bunny), and the decor was on point. Good food and a great atmosphere!

There's a casual front area with high tables and stools, but if you want table service there is a seating area in the back, and even a backyard space for temperate seasons. We were only one of three parties there so our food came out fast and hot. I enjoyed the chicken taco most, the seasoning was just right and there was a slight smoky char on the meat that beat out the flavor of the shrimp taco. Pozole was spicy and hot, so satisfying on a cold day. They run happy hour and Taco Tuesday specials, so there are even better deals in store at this spot, a true neighborhood taqueria.
