Aftermath is a newer cozy bar in Ridgewood that has the perfect balance of relaxing ambiance and tasty drinks. My friend and I stopped in yesterday evening for a quick drink and the rosé cider that I chose was absolutely delicious. They play vinyl for the music at this bar which is a big plus, and shoutout to the bartender for putting on a Sade album! It really set the mood. Will definitely be back in the later evening soon to see what it's like at night.

A cute neighborhood bar. Stopped in the have a catchup with friends. Very relaxed place with great service. If you are trying to go out and keep a low profile this is the place to be. I didn't not have any food and don't recall them having any.

Hubby and I decided to venture from New Jersey to this gem in NYC. They were having an "Eats and Beats" session curated by DJ Eli all on Vinyl. Safe to say, the long trip was well worth it. Great eats, beats and excellent service. I had a Smash Burger with Fries and Hubby had Jerk Chicken Sliders. So, if you're ever in the area. Stop by and have a drink or two. #livelaughlove

Bierwax is a cute spot to hang with friends or meet new ones. The menu had a nice variety of beers and an impressive cocktail list. The Deep Purple cocktail was quite tasty. I loved the retro 70's music (which turned into r&b and hip hop later in the evening) and the extensive record collection that spanned the room. The relaxed vibe of the bar was very welcoming and I was very happy that the music wasn't too loud. If I am in the area, I would definitely make a "bee line" to Bierwax!

Love Bierwax in Brooklyn and this new Queens location doesn't disappoint. Rudy, Ariel and Chris and the crew are super friendly. Full bar and great beers on tap. Always a great selection. SO many albums. Such good music. Always different. Always cool choices. Don't ask for a song lol they do not have the time (or the patience) for requests. Just drink and relax and hang with a cool vibe.

Amazing bar! Ive been coming here since before it was aftermath. I love this place and the owners/ bartenders are so kind and talented. Vibes are immaculate and I'm shocked this place isn't more popular yet.

This was a cute & chill place to go to on a Saturday afternoon. The music selection was also pretty good especially considering they only play music from a record player so very different. Service was very personable and was able to enjoy drinks based on our taste.

Drinks were delicious and well made. Appetizers were also good. Looking forward to going back. Service was a little slow but worth the wait.

Excellent selection of local brews. Great atmosphere. Decent food. The decor is a brilliant homage to deejaying and vinyl collectors.

The bar is a bit on the smaller side in terms of seating, but it has a TON of personality. I loved the eclectic decorations and knickknacks around the seating areas and the bar. The bartender had the TV tuned in to Jeopardy, so my inner (or extremely obvious?) nerd was beaming. In terms of the drinks themselves, I tried the cocoa orange whiskey (?) infusion on the rocks, and my BF had the chipotle paloma. We would both say they were solid, definitely not at "craft cocktail" level, but decent. This bar has a fun + dive-y feel - the kind of place where you get a beer, a plate of chicken nuggets, and watch trash tv with your neighborhood crew (I think they actually do have people who have a weekly Bachelorette viewing during the week). Definitely worth checking out if you're already in the area and looking for ~vibes.~

I've had a number of drinks here and it's been a great meeting spot for late night occasions, especially ones that revolve around a good drink. No doubt it's one of the more underrated nightlife venues in the borough. The setup feels like something out of a Brooklyn type bar - pseudo hipster vibe, casual environment with the whole board games and stacks of books all within a space that is well divided to give a different feel in each corner of the small'ish interior. Like a living room extension but with adult company. Of course, the bar is the most prominent thing in the room and it's a great place to chill as a solo patron. Groups can congregate in the lounge-y areas but the feel is remarkably different depending on where one choses to hang. On a beverage front, there is no shortage of quality drinks to be had. The cocktails are well made and not expensive; the bartenders do a good job of making sure each drink carries a certain kind of potency before leaving the bar. The happy hours are lovely as well, combined with a good deals ($5 shot + beer special, $5 cocktails, etc.) and even better hours (2-8pm!). Lastly, I appreciate a good name. Bad Old Days can be interpreted in many facets, but I think this establishment prides itself on good company and somehow rewards us with simple, good drinks. Bring a friend or three, enjoy the random movies that get projected onto the wall, and enjoy a late night capper in a quiet part of an emerging part of Queens.

Yee-haw in Ridgewood!…read more My boyfriend is always asking me about my regular bar. I go to TV Eye for the shows, Milo's Yard for the yard and dj nights and Ore Bar is my fave but Jones Bar there's something about you that keeps you in my thoughts! We came on a Sunday afternoon for a cold one before heading home. It is insanely chill. The bartender was funny and inviting. The regulars were like old friends. My boyfriend loved talking sports with a few and deep diving into their love and hate for the Mets! The bartender mentioned that there was supposed to be a vintage market that was cancelled because of the rain. There is food pop ups as well and live music. This recent Friday was four live acts and for FREE. We made our return to our new fave spot. It did not disappoint. The place was packed but not annoying. People were chill. Age range from 25-40 maybe. The first guy playing is from Austin, Bubba Lucky also designed the flyer for the event. The second act, Patton Magee was a three piece. A perfect Friday night hang for sure. Country is back in the best way. This is the kinda bar I was searching for in Nashville. I'm glad it's here in Queens. I am a music lover but I like hopping around genres. So it's nice to get my fix here. So happy to finally be making this a home away from home. We tried a bunch of stuff and the star was definitely the soft scrambled egg tostada, the masa pancakes and coffee tres leches cake. These are a must try! Good to try was also the fried oaxacan cheese but at $14 for 3 pieces, it's not worth a repeat order for me. These were skippable to be honest: mega thick bacon (just ok) home fries (meh) The chilaquiles (pork chorizo, salsa ranchera, crema, queso fresco, sunny up eggs) lacked flavor for a dish with so much going on. Service was pretty quick.

Came specifically for their famous masa pancakes and YES, you must get them. Crispy exterior, fluffy and soft inside. Soaks up the delicious syrup perfectly and the slab of cold cinnamon butter on top is the most delicious touch (if you're like me and love butter). I'm also a huge chilaquiles fan (California natives, stand up) so had to try that as well - very, very good. Chips were the perfect balance of crispy and soft, pork chorizo was balanced in flavor. We also got a side of their mega thick cut bacon, home fries, and eggs. All wonderfully executed - easy things to add on that don't take away from the main events. I guess the one thing I wasn't a huge fan of was their drip coffee (no other options outside of cold brew) but if that's the only downer from this meal, I can absolutely live with it. Service was lovely even sitting at the bar and the hosts were really kind as we were a walk-in. Definitely a place to try if you like a unique pancake and Mex-American flavors!
