Neighbor joint with low prices. What else do you need! Seems like live music will be a reason to return

Bartender was nice and patient, explaining to us what food they had left and how long it would take for them to heat it up (considering we came close to closing). Samosa, chicken patty, and pizza were pretty good!

A white woman with blonde hair answered the door and I explained this to her in great detail. She spitefully suggested I go to the police and file my complaint with them, when I know the 104th precinct in Ridgewood is going to do fuq all with the report and protect MTAs interest by default, instead of holding the worker who was in the wrong accountable. In what world does it make sense to suggest following up an MTA complaint with the NYPD? I said to the rude woman, the police won't help with my complaint. She then, arrogantly brushed me off and refused to help me. After asking why she wouldn't help me, her ridiculous reasoning for refusing to help was because she's more concerned about the "privacy" of others which is complete BS. Instead of doing the right thing and assisting someone trying to hold a complacent MTA worker accountable and disciplined for their misconduct, she denied me help because she had some sort of disdain and prejudice towards me, when I was nothing short of respectful in asking for a minute of camera footage.. There is no expectation of privacy in public especially for MTA workers who work for THE PUBLIC and are IN PUBLIC. I only needed a minute of footage to follow up with my MTA complaint and I'm gone, but the woman simply brushed me off. If the staff at Milo's Yard are this ignorant about privacy laws and quick to brush off a good samaritan who is doing the right thing, I can only imagine how they treat the patrons who put money into their establishment, which I'm willing to bet they treat them the same way. Regardless, this is the typical behavior I'd expect from a run down hipster bar currently gentrifying the once beautiful neighborhood of Ridgewood. So here's my honest review on what I think about Milo's Yard. Shame on you

It had a pretty raunchy feel with an older crowd, sitting somewhere between a pub and a dive bar. The door was broken and the cups by the water looked dirty. I wouldn't even bother with the popcorn machine... This is all just my observations. The only decent thing this place had going was the cheap drinks. After buying a drink, you're given a 'chip' that can be redeemed for a free one, which is an interesting concept... Still, overall it just wasn't my vibe...

The place is really small with limited seating inside as well as enclosed outdoor seating and tables/stools along the outside. Such a diverse crowd! They have 2 entrances. One the side and the front. It was way too busy inside so we chose to sit in the covered outdoor section. If you do that, be prepared for a lot of smoke and pigeon feathers flying around! We were okay with that! When you order a drink here, you get a wooden token which will get you your next drink free! This happened the entire time we were there. We had a total of 4 drinks each with 2 of them each being free! That will definitely have me coming back for more. There's no other place that does that. No jukebox, but the music they played was decent. Total dive bar atmosphere. Service was fine. Love the free popcorn with fixings station. Fresh hot popcorn with Old Bay is delicious with a nice, cold drink. All you can eat of it, too. Although I saw 1 patron go up 10 times for it! Talk about overkill. They serve hot dogs for a buck as well! Now the bathroom was pretty gross. Hardly any light. Stinky and no place to dry your hands. Did I expect a 4 star bathroom experience here? Absolutely not, but give me a working hand dryer or paper towel please. The shocker of the night was when I closed out my tab. For those 4 drinks we got charged for, it came out to $13.50! Uhh....what?! That's insane. Cheapest happy hour drinks ever. Did I get a headache from the well liquor they used for these drinks? Definitely. Was it worth it for that price. You know it! I'll be back.

The bar is a bit on the smaller side in terms of seating, but it has a TON of personality. I loved the eclectic decorations and knickknacks around the seating areas and the bar. The bartender had the TV tuned in to Jeopardy, so my inner (or extremely obvious?) nerd was beaming. In terms of the drinks themselves, I tried the cocoa orange whiskey (?) infusion on the rocks, and my BF had the chipotle paloma. We would both say they were solid, definitely not at "craft cocktail" level, but decent. This bar has a fun + dive-y feel - the kind of place where you get a beer, a plate of chicken nuggets, and watch trash tv with your neighborhood crew (I think they actually do have people who have a weekly Bachelorette viewing during the week). Definitely worth checking out if you're already in the area and looking for ~vibes.~

I've had a number of drinks here and it's been a great meeting spot for late night occasions, especially ones that revolve around a good drink. No doubt it's one of the more underrated nightlife venues in the borough. The setup feels like something out of a Brooklyn type bar - pseudo hipster vibe, casual environment with the whole board games and stacks of books all within a space that is well divided to give a different feel in each corner of the small'ish interior. Like a living room extension but with adult company. Of course, the bar is the most prominent thing in the room and it's a great place to chill as a solo patron. Groups can congregate in the lounge-y areas but the feel is remarkably different depending on where one choses to hang. On a beverage front, there is no shortage of quality drinks to be had. The cocktails are well made and not expensive; the bartenders do a good job of making sure each drink carries a certain kind of potency before leaving the bar. The happy hours are lovely as well, combined with a good deals ($5 shot + beer special, $5 cocktails, etc.) and even better hours (2-8pm!). Lastly, I appreciate a good name. Bad Old Days can be interpreted in many facets, but I think this establishment prides itself on good company and somehow rewards us with simple, good drinks. Bring a friend or three, enjoy the random movies that get projected onto the wall, and enjoy a late night capper in a quiet part of an emerging part of Queens.
