They really don't make bars like this anymore. Perfect neighborhood bar with not glitz and glamour, just great vibes, the patrons are all cool, the food is spectacular and the drinks are reasonably priced. Came here on a recommendation as since I live nearby, figured this was the move on a Sunday. I even ran into a podcast couple that I follow and on their show they've actually talked about Ginny's. I see why! The shot and a beer special is always a plus with a Ganset and the bartender was speedy and attentive on a moderately busy afternoon. The food is really something special! I ordered off of the secret menu for the buffalo chicken quesadilla, (because it had bacon), and got some wings. The wings were fried perfectly and had such flavor. Juicy chicken with stellar sauces. The quesadilla was an absolute banger. Good buffalo flavor and lots of chicken, it was a really well composed dish. I will definitely be back as I loved everything about Ginny's!

I live within walking distance of Aunt Ginny's. I've heard about it before, but until last Sunday, I had ZERO ideas about how amazing this place was! Came here on a whim when my friends and I realized The Flying Fox Tavern was closed on Sundays. As soon as I stepped into Aunt Ginny's, I felt at home. The place is HUGE and it totally reminded me of my favorite rock dive bar, Rocka Rolla. There weren't too many people there when we got there but man was it packed when we left. We spent a few hours there just drinking and enjoying the music. The music was all over the place and I really loved that. Blasting Judas Priest's greatest hits when we got there delighted me to no end. Then they played Kenny Loggins, Chaka Kahn, Kurtis Blow, AC/DC, and some death metal. Seating is abundant! The bar is huge and there are lots of booth and table seating. A picture booth in the back along with a pool table and two arcade games. Plenty of bathrooms. The most random of decorations on the wall. Friendly bartender. Huge and cheap drinks. Their cocktail menu has everything I love on it. Dark and Stormy!! Although they use ginger syrup for drinks that call for ginger beer. It's not bad, but it's POTENT so watch out. Their best drink though is the frozen passionfruit margarita. Sooooo yummy. You get a bang for your buck with their $10 drinks. They have a tiny kitchen in the back called I Like Food that opens up at 5. It was funny watching everyone literally run to the back when 5 PM came around. I thought, hey, food must be good! Went up and ordered Churro Fries. Man, they were so good. Regular french fries were dusted with cinnamon sugar and came with a chocolate dipping sauce. Mmmmmmm! So good. They give you a number and they bring the food to your table. Looking forward to my next visit. The only downside is the number of hipsters that come to this place. Ewww.

Best Mac Chicken ! The service is quick and prompt. I love the ambiance and music, truly a gem in ridgewood. Second time here and the food has been great. I had the fried cheese and zatar fries as side dishes. Definitely a must have!

Aunt Ginny's is a spacious bar good for groups of friends. Nice vibe and music. Nice dark lighting.

The best part of Aunt Ginnys is ilikefood in the back. I haven't eaten a bad thing there yet. If you like bar food then you been to check it out. Wings, nachos and whatnot but elevated with flavor mashups that make it extra special. And if they have a special definitely get it! The menu is well thought out and even better executed

Aunt Ginny's is a great bar for ADULTS. Their staff are fun, quick and know a lot about the neighborhood. Won't mention any here by name, because that's not appropriate, so go in and make some friends. If you're not sure if you should bring kids, a simple search right here on Yelp will assist you. Is it a restaurant? Great, call ahead to see how they can accommodate your family. Is it a bar and only a bar? Leave kids at home!

Yee-haw in Ridgewood!…read more My boyfriend is always asking me about my regular bar. I go to TV Eye for the shows, Milo's Yard for the yard and dj nights and Ore Bar is my fave but Jones Bar there's something about you that keeps you in my thoughts! We came on a Sunday afternoon for a cold one before heading home. It is insanely chill. The bartender was funny and inviting. The regulars were like old friends. My boyfriend loved talking sports with a few and deep diving into their love and hate for the Mets! The bartender mentioned that there was supposed to be a vintage market that was cancelled because of the rain. There is food pop ups as well and live music. This recent Friday was four live acts and for FREE. We made our return to our new fave spot. It did not disappoint. The place was packed but not annoying. People were chill. Age range from 25-40 maybe. The first guy playing is from Austin, Bubba Lucky also designed the flyer for the event. The second act, Patton Magee was a three piece. A perfect Friday night hang for sure. Country is back in the best way. This is the kinda bar I was searching for in Nashville. I'm glad it's here in Queens. I am a music lover but I like hopping around genres. So it's nice to get my fix here. So happy to finally be making this a home away from home. A white woman with blonde hair answered the door and I explained this to her in great detail. She spitefully suggested I go to the police and file my complaint with them, when I know the 104th precinct in Ridgewood is going to do fuq all with the report and protect MTAs interest by default, instead of holding the worker who was in the wrong accountable. In what world does it make sense to suggest following up an MTA complaint with the NYPD? I said to the rude woman, the police won't help with my complaint. She then, arrogantly brushed me off and refused to help me. After asking why she wouldn't help me, her ridiculous reasoning for refusing to help was because she's more concerned about the "privacy" of others which is complete BS. Instead of doing the right thing and assisting someone trying to hold a complacent MTA worker accountable and disciplined for their misconduct, she denied me help because she had some sort of disdain and prejudice towards me, when I was nothing short of respectful in asking for a minute of camera footage.. There is no expectation of privacy in public especially for MTA workers who work for THE PUBLIC and are IN PUBLIC. I only needed a minute of footage to follow up with my MTA complaint and I'm gone, but the woman simply brushed me off. If the staff at Milo's Yard are this ignorant about privacy laws and quick to brush off a good samaritan who is doing the right thing, I can only imagine how they treat the patrons who put money into their establishment, which I'm willing to bet they treat them the same way. Regardless, this is the typical behavior I'd expect from a run down hipster bar currently gentrifying the once beautiful neighborhood of Ridgewood. So here's my honest review on what I think about Milo's Yard. Shame on you

After buying a drink, you're given a 'chip' that can be redeemed for a free one, which is an interesting concept... Still, overall it just wasn't my vibe...

The place is really small with limited seating inside as well as enclosed outdoor seating and tables/stools along the outside. Such a diverse crowd! They have 2 entrances. One the side and the front. It was way too busy inside so we chose to sit in the covered outdoor section. If you do that, be prepared for a lot of smoke and pigeon feathers flying around! We were okay with that! When you order a drink here, you get a wooden token which will get you your next drink free! This happened the entire time we were there. We had a total of 4 drinks each with 2 of them each being free! That will definitely have me coming back for more. There's no other place that does that. No jukebox, but the music they played was decent. Total dive bar atmosphere. Service was fine. Love the free popcorn with fixings station. Fresh hot popcorn with Old Bay is delicious with a nice, cold drink. All you can eat of it, too. Although I saw 1 patron go up 10 times for it! Talk about overkill. They serve hot dogs for a buck as well! Now the bathroom was pretty gross. Hardly any light. Stinky and no place to dry your hands. Did I expect a 4 star bathroom experience here? Absolutely not, but give me a working hand dryer or paper towel please. The shocker of the night was when I closed out my tab. For those 4 drinks we got charged for, it came out to $13.50! Uhh....what?! That's insane. Cheapest happy hour drinks ever. Did I get a headache from the well liquor they used for these drinks? Definitely. Was it worth it for that price. You know it! I'll be back.

The bar is a bit on the smaller side in terms of seating, but it has a TON of personality. I loved the eclectic decorations and knickknacks around the seating areas and the bar. The bartender had the TV tuned in to Jeopardy, so my inner (or extremely obvious?) nerd was beaming. In terms of the drinks themselves, I tried the cocoa orange whiskey (?) infusion on the rocks, and my BF had the chipotle paloma. We would both say they were solid, definitely not at "craft cocktail" level, but decent. This bar has a fun + dive-y feel - the kind of place where you get a beer, a plate of chicken nuggets, and watch trash tv with your neighborhood crew (I think they actually do have people who have a weekly Bachelorette viewing during the week). I've had a number of drinks here and it's been a great meeting spot for late night occasions, especially ones that revolve around a good drink. No doubt it's one of the more underrated nightlife venues in the borough. The setup feels like something out of a Brooklyn type bar - pseudo hipster vibe, casual environment with the whole board games and stacks of books all within a space that is well divided to give a different feel in each corner of the small'ish interior. Like a living room extension but with adult company. Of course, the bar is the most prominent thing in the room and it's a great place to chill as a solo patron. Groups can congregate in the lounge-y areas but the feel is remarkably different depending on where one choses to hang. On a beverage front, there is no shortage of quality drinks to be had. The cocktails are well made and not expensive; the bartenders do a good job of making sure each drink carries a certain kind of potency before leaving the bar. The happy hours are lovely as well, combined with a good deals ($5 shot + beer special, $5 cocktails, etc.) and even better hours (2-8pm!). Lastly, I appreciate a good name. Bad Old Days can be interpreted in many facets, but I think this establishment prides itself on good company and somehow rewards us with simple, good drinks. Bring a friend or three, enjoy the random movies that get projected onto the wall, and enjoy a late night capper in a quiet part of an emerging part of Queens.
