This place is not good. I appreciate dive bars, local watering holes, the alike; but not when there's foul bartenders with no sense of service. I will never return to a spot where bartenders stare with no acknowledgement of your presence--a wave, a "hello, I'll be with you in a second"--nothing. Further, the response to a request for a menu should not be "it's over there". Why not hand me a menu, or just tell me what you have, instead of making me walk to the other side of the bar to get a menu for myself. Next time I'll just pour the pint and save the tip! The only thing this place has going for it is the ambience. Some elements were a very cool old school style, and the booths had swinging doors; however, the charm was delayed when we had to bus the table ourselves before we could sit down. I'm a big fan of black rabbit - I've come here quite a few times while waiting for my table at Karczma! Black rabbit has a cool atmosphere (I love the decor) and a great drink menu. They have a great happy hour that changes based on the day (different days they have deals on different cocktails, among other drinks). Spent a relaxing late afternoon in their cozy backyard. They have happy hour everyday until 8pm. We got a pint of beer and a shot of whiskey deal for $10. The vibe was chill and they had a decent selection of board games inside, which we grabbed to enjoy while finishing our drinks. Great for reserving for large groups or parties. They let you bring in outside food since their in house food menu is slim pickings. Best part was that I didn't have to shout-talk over loud music like most bars. It was easy to have a conversation with friends without needing to scream in each others ears. Me and my friends enjoyed our catch up in their boxed semi private-ish table. Their glass wine list was okay, a little expensive side for local one, but i didn't find one I would like to have particularly so just went for their recommendation of their original drink with ginger and bourbon. Trivia with Sean and Casey is so much fun. It's the perfect night to bring the entire community together. The bartenders were very friendly and helpful. We went for happy hour and had the house lager for $5 a pour. I wish there were more happy hour options though. This bar is great. I moved to the neighborhood about a hear ago and I'm always on the hunt for a great bar to call my own and boy did I find it at Black Rabbit. Right off the bat, the decor is amazing. I love the little booth areas that are so cozy. Every inch of the bar is outfitted with something interesting, from the booths, to the back area, to the yard. Another thing I also like to include in my reviews is if a bar feels like the type of place a woman can go to alone and not be harassed or just feel comfortable, and I get the vibe that I a woman can grab a book and sit back and have a nice time. This place is pretty damn awesome. Selection of beers was impressive. It's great for a small group of people if you want the private booth. Four people fit comfortably, six might be pushing it, but it's do-able. Private booth option was acutally my favorite thing about the bar, especially with the button to call for service. Nice that they leave you alone, and wait on you when you're ready. There is an outside patio which is nice and the place itself is spacious. I would definitely go back. Came for an outdoor Covid-era happy hour and was not disappointed. They have a lovely courtyard out back and we were the only ones there on Labor Day at 5pm - place to ourselves! Came here with friends and we were greeted unkindly by the bartender who was very impatient with us when we asked for a range of prices for their priceless drink menu. The bar wasn't overly busy and not giving us any prices didn't seem like a fair solution to a common question and she got really worked up and frustrated about it. I went with two friends to have a nightcap and food. We waited to order food and drinks when the bartender asked us for our ID´s, which only happens in afterparty bars, or places where there is no food service. I had my city ID which has my year of birth displayed and indicates that I´m older enough to be there. She refused to take my order, I asked if I could seat at the booth without ordering drinks, but she said that I couldn´t stay or eat anywhere in the whole establishment. I asked to give a detailed explanation of the issue, but instead, she gave us a very condescending and rude answer that didn´t make any sense. I asked her to be more polite, and as a response, she threw away my friend´s beer without even asking if he wanted to stay. As a consequence, we decided to leave in the middle of the worst rant that you can have with customer service. I was looking at other patrons reviews, and the bartender attitude seemed discriminatory against people of color. Always the same bartender who works on Saturday night at the bar. Expect to have the worst experience in a pseudo-Irish bar. read more

Do I like trivia? Let me tell you something, I am the trivia f*cking master. Upon the suggestion of a good friend, I finally came down here a few weeks ago. This was a special trivia night, because it was the holiday edition. No, we did not win but we were in the Top 3 the entire night. Out of about 12 teams, we were in the Top 3. Was it because I was there that night? Duh, isn't that obvious? But even if there was no trivia night here, I would still make it a habit of dropping by. I love the booths that have little swing doors so no one can get in. And they're big enough so you can fit four people comfortably. Or six people, presumably really good friends, very comfortably. My drink of choice is the Six Point Ale. It's got a nice taste to it, and it's got enough kick to make me think I'm Ethel Merman. And I have to get the mini burgers as well.
