I arrived at Milo's Yard at 3:15pm on 7/3/2025 to inquire about obtaining camera footage of an incident displaying MTA misconduct that occured at approximately 12:30pm that same day, at the Seneca Av & Bleecker St bus stop right in front of their business. A white woman with blonde hair answered the door and I explained this to her in great detail. She spitefully suggested I go to the police and file my complaint with them, when I know the 104th precinct in Ridgewood is going to do fuq all with the report and protect MTAs interest by default, instead of holding the worker who was in the wrong accountable. In what world does it make sense to suggest following up an MTA complaint with the NYPD? I said to the rude woman, the police won't help with my complaint. She then, arrogantly brushed me off and refused to help me. After asking why she wouldn't help me, her ridiculous reasoning for refusing to help was because she's more concerned about the "privacy" of others which is complete BS. Instead of doing the right thing and assisting someone trying to hold a complacent MTA worker accountable and disciplined for their misconduct, she denied me help because she had some sort of disdain and prejudice towards me, when I was nothing short of respectful in asking for a minute of camera footage.. There is no expectation of privacy in public especially for MTA workers who work for THE PUBLIC and are IN PUBLIC. I only needed a minute of footage to follow up with my MTA complaint and I'm gone, but the woman simply brushed me off. If the staff at Milo's Yard are this ignorant about privacy laws and quick to brush off a good samaritan who is doing the right thing, I can only imagine how they treat the patrons who put money into their establishment, which I'm willing to bet they treat them the same way. Regardless, this is the typical behavior I'd expect from a run down hipster bar currently gentrifying the once beautiful neighborhood of Ridgewood. I came here on a Wednesday night to grab drinks with a few friends. It's a classic dive bar with a fairly spacious outdoor patio. Great place to hang out for a few hours. It looked like they had a few pinball machines inside, and as far as food, they had hotdogs and a few other small bites. read more

Milo's is not quite possibly the best in Ridgewood- it is the best bar in Ridgewood. The owners are awesome, the bartenders are all great. On the weekends you can catch some of the finest DJs to play in the area. I've met a good number of friends there and will miss it. Everything here started off so well. Great selection of pinball and good beer. Came in on a cold Sunday night and was greeted by a super nice bartender, taller gent. Things were going great here until his dim witted coworker decided to go and start ruining a good time. Asked the first (nice) bartender for a veggie patty, then his strange coworker asked him what I ordered. Then the weird bartender came back to me, waited at the bar for me to say something even though he knew what I had already ordered. Then I ordered again, asked to close out. He said ok it'll be 25 minutes and he'll bring it to us when it's ready, never brings the check. That was the first off thing. We play pinball some more and it's definitely taking longer than 25 minutes. I separately asked for the check and finally close out; still no patty. After about 45 minutes he says your patty is ready, then doesn't bring it over. At this point we're over it because no bar veggie patty should take 45 minutes, and we proceed to walk out. He then yells at me from across the bar frantically to give me the patty he never brought out. Food sucked. Such a pity. I would definitely go back if in the mood for a casual but kinda cute bar that serves basic bites and good music. FOOD / DRINK 1.) Chicago style hot dog = Yum! Had bunch of fixings on it, it was good. Took a while but it's ok bc I wasn't in a hurry. They have the hot drinks too, I'll have to come back for the hot apple cider. SERVICE Nice bartender ATMOSPHERE Pretty cute in a casual way, kind of unique lights in the back. Juke box playing cool old upbeat music. Went on a weekday night. Pretty slow until around 11p... good for small groups with the booth seatings, and the back room's seating area, and pretty spacious overall. Fun, retro atmosphere with the pinball machines in the back. The backyard is cute too with string lights and some tables. I went to Milo's Yard for a friend's birthday (have never been before). I walk in, go to the bar, grab a couple beer + shots for my friend and I, then go sit down after checking the place out. We like it! We're talking about how cool/chill of a place it is and the nice atmosphere. As we're hanging out and talking (maybe 30 minutes), I notice people who work there keep coming back to where we're sitting checking for empty glasses. My thoughts are "wow they're really attentive and keep the place clean". They keep coming back it seems every 5 minutes so now I'm kind of confused. Next thing you know, a woman comes up to my friend and I and asks to look inside her bag. We're confused on what's going on so she grabs her bag and the woman is looking behind the booths and the corner where we're sitting. We're sitting in plain sight of the bar by the way (probably the most visible corner in the bar). The woman then says something about a deli bag and "drinking pace". She walks off and my friend and I are so confused. I explained to her what the woman said and we were really offended. When I asked the woman (the manager, she said she was) what the problem was, she told me that our drinking paces were slow and they were accusing me of drinking out of a deli bag or refilling my beer or something of the sort. I've never even thought to do something like that before. While we're talking, she said "we thought we saw a deli bag but there wasn't one.. unless it was thrown away" STILL ACCUSING ME. Our drinking paces were "slow" but we just took a shot at the bar and were half a beer down in less than 30-40 minutes. It may be completely unrelated but I just happened to be the only black person in the bar. The manager and the bartender who accused me of this apologized but the whole situation was so ridiculous that I had to leave a review. This is how people are treated at this bar. Paying customers. If they thought such things, check the cameras before you accuse people who bought drinks and tipped. Crazy. read more

Milo's Yard is a chill, locals bar that has a great collection of pinball machines. It's never too crowded. I can always find a spot by the bar or the pinball machines. There's some fun, vintage pinball machines too, like Alec Baldwin's "The Shadow". This is perfect for date night. Be able to knock back some drinks and play some games. I bumped into a friend a couple weeks ago and joined her and her friends to a fun game of cards against humanity! We even got a table by the window on a Sunday night. They food options are limited for pescatarians. There's veggie samosas with a tamarind chutney or the classic mint chutney. It's a starchy, greasy snack but at least it's warmer than the kettle chips. I am not a big fan of the veggie patty. I wish they would just buy veggie dogs and make veggie Chicago dogs. The meaty ones always look great! And I have a weakness for veggie Chicago style dogs with cold beer and a game of pinball! Hint, hint, nudge, nudge. Great space for groups and it looks like a patio for summer fun. I like bouncing from Bierleichen and this place when I'm in the neighborhood. Great new bar with tons of pinball machines in Ridgewood! The machines all cost 50-cents and the bar will change your dollah dollah billz for coinage. Seems like a great place for a date. The music isn't loud, so you can actually hold a decent conversation without losing your voice. They also serve the coolest foods: pork buns, hot dogs, beef patties and samosas. So many vegetarian friendly options. Want to give your fingers a break from all that pinball? They've got a super chill backyard so you can catch some air. Pinball machines-a-plenty, fancy yet only $7 cocktails, lots of beers on tap I've never heard of, bar hooks and foot rests, and a mellow ambiance... this place rules. They also have a pretty good menu with stuff like Chicago style hot dogs, Jamaican beef patties, other stuff, and chips. There is also a TV and the people running the show are very friendly. I was really into this place until they played some John Cale followed by some late 70's Bob Dylan, then I became extremely into this place. Suddenly, if you live in this area, you have no shortage of bar options. It's insane how fast bars are popping up around here. There is a housing bubble and there is a bar bubble, and when the bar bubble pops I hope Milo's Yard remains standing. On the housing side, I'll have to keep my fingers crossed. So this morning when I woke and reached into my pocket to find a new book of sulfur, before I opened and struck I looked down and saw the the name of a bar I had just discovered. Milos is a simple place. One that makes me proud to live in what I consider the best city in the world. Living in Brooklyn (in Bushwick) at this moment is even better. There are endless opportunities for eats and drinks and the paths that take us to them reveal hidden gems along the way. Milos is by far one of those places. Walking up to the Christmas lighted awning and opening the door to a dimly lit warmth of an old school bar was the breath I needed in a cold long day. Happily greeted by the bartender while great indie music played in the background. The music wasn't loud just enough to disguise conversation but loud enough to enjoy. Milo's layout is perfect. A nice solid bar when you enter. In the railroad layout the next two rooms hold pinball machines. The first room holding some classic 2000's titles like Shadow with Alec Baldwin in the face. In the next room thee are three incredible old school 'no title' machines. Ones that make you want to play. I mean who doesn't want to try a go at flippin when you see Jack Bot, Comet and Grand Lizard! These are the kind of machines that have not only amazing 'Tommy' play but also have incredible sounds and lights. The selection of beers is great. A little bit of everything. The prices are right and offer great cheap beer-shot options and local crafts. The kicker for me is the option for food. Now let's be clear. This isn't a bar with a kitchen or staff to cook. It's a one man bartending affair. And for the meal my girlfriend and I got that speaks volumes. We split a veggie samosa with two great sauces. My girlfriend had a vegan patty burger and I had a Chicago style hot dog. The hot dog was spot on. I lived in Chicago for 6 years so I know what a good dog is. The perfect selection of bar food paired with great beers and and great entertainment. This is what makes life simple. The bars name comes from that of a pet. Something I have found to be a trend lately in business naming and even though at this moment I don't own a pet... I have come to find if your place is named after your 'lil best friend' I become your new best friend. So if your looking for your new go to spot, Milos is it! read more

This is a really wonderful bar. The people that work here are amazing and friendly and care about the neighborhood. The drink specials are super good and the double Happy hour is a thing to be treasured in today's economy. There's a bunch of pinball machines, and a backyard to be opened soon! This is my local, and I love that it's a bar owned by a woman and named for her dog. It's al good people, no-fuss drinking, and comfy space. Only giving it four stars because sometimes the crowd/clientele can get bro-y, in that hip bitchy-but-straight-too-cool bro-y way. Not at all the fault of the venue, but be warned on a Saturday night... Always something weirdly cool and unexpected on the (silent) TV--I've seen SRK films, Star Trek, Buffy, and even foreign dance films. First and last time EVER coming here. Came on a sunday night with two of my friends (girl and a guy) (5/19/19) and it started out fine, but toward closing time I noticed the people next to me had half a beer and a another FULL beer in front of them. I had half a jack and coke. I didn't want to ask for a full drink so i POLITELY asked the bartender if he could top off my drink (obviously was going to pay for it) and he rudely proceeded to complain about how we didn't tip him enough (didn't even know my friend had closed out the tab, also my friend had told him that the tip he left on credit card wasn't going to be the only one) so NO he wasn't going to serve me. I was so shocked by his tone and response because as a bartender, that is highly unprofessional. We hadn't even fully closed out or left for him to assume that we wouldn't tip for our own drinks (only one out of three of us had tipped) the way he snapped at me was highly uncalled for considering I asked very respectfully and he proceeded to throw in my face how he "gave us free shots" when he really only gave one person a shot while two of us went to the bathroom. I can keep going about the interaction but I think you get the point. Don't be in the service industry if you don't know how to properly interact with your customers. read more

Drinks are a little pricey compared to most places in the neighborhood. It's obviously a product of gentrification but is also a great place for a date. They have a nice backyard that in the summer is a nice quiet place to bring someone special. read more

Since moving to Ridgewood this has quickly become my neighborhood spot, largely thanks to the unique selection of lovingly maintained pinball machines (current lineup: The Shadow, Highspeed II Getaway, Terminator 2, Medusa, Ghostbusters, Comet, and an early solid state called Grand Lizard which has the best electric bongo soundtrack you'll ever hear). There's a nice back yard, cheap beer options, and on Fridays they have really good DJs. Also, this is one of the only places in town you can get Tim's Cascade kettle chips. You might be thinking "What is the big deal about a bag of potato chips?" That's pretty much what I said to my Seattleite roomie who was freaking out when she realized Milo's sold them. She bought us a bag of Jalapeño and bag of Cheddar & Sour Cream and as something of a potato chip connoisseur I was blown away by their crispness and the flavor - particularly the jalapeño, which gives other spicy chips a run for their money. ANYWAY THOUGH, this isn't a review of chips, it's a review of Milo's. Milo's is always chill, and you should go there and play pinball and drink cheap drinks and eat Tim's chips. read more

Great new(ish) place in Ridgewood a short walk from the M and L trains. Milo's has 2 rooms with 3 pinball machines each, a weird and wonderful collection (Getaway, Jackbot, The Shadow, Comet, Medusa, Grand Lizard) that is maintained by their owner who also happens to own the bar. There is an outdoor area at the back where, on my first visit, an opossum was spotted hanging out on the fence. The staff is nice, the owner I met was very nice, and prices are most reasonable (except for the $6 Chicago dogs, but then again I'm used to dime dogs at my dive bar, so maybe it's just me). If you are not into pinball you can escape that buzzers and bells by sticking to the bar area and table seating up front where you wouldn't even know it was a pinball bar...except for the pinball-themed drink specials. read more

What a god dang disaster this place was. I was just looking for truffle fries (they don't serve them so don't waste your time) but settled for a beer. The bartender called himself an anarchist (barf, anarchy is for tweens) and then I saw a fistfight inside. Food sucks (cuz there is none). Bar sucks because they play Russian propaganda.
