Get the bacon bread pudding! Did you hear me? (Taps mic) I came for the cocktails. I stayed for the Bacon Bread pudding. Oh my gosh. This was a pretty basic dive bar with a backyard. You got your full bar options as well as hot boozy beverages, which is nice for outdoor seating in colder months. But.....get the bread pudding. And if you're with a friend, get 2 orders.....each! Ha ha ha It's been weeks and I'm stilling thinking about it.

A delightful, local BK watering hole in Kensington. I was walking down Church Ave...saw 2 ladies drinking some tasty looking cocktails...they pointed me in. Its small, quaint and friendly interesting service from the lady bartender there. She makse some delicious drinks! The kitchen serves up some great sammys...I had the smoked turkey on chibatta...WHOA....man that sammy was good...my bestie met me over there after her errands and enjoyed a couple cocktails too....when I visit again... I WILL be back.

It's been a while since I've written, and I thought this would be a nice way to get back in it. A typical Mon night, which is actually one of my favorites days oddly enough. I had just finished my laundry and one of my girlfriend calls and the first thing I say is DRINKS? And she's like YES. Get you some friends who are down for random drinks at 9 in the evening. So we went looking and decided on Hinterlands. Very cozy, comfortable and Clinton was really sweet. I ask a lot of questions, as a foodie is wont to do and he took it like a champ. I ended up going with his recommendation, the chicken/bacon sandwich with chips. Added hot sauce on his recommendation and enjoyed it. But let's be honest, I just wanted a drink. I knew I wanted a Moscow Mule because I'd been craving it since the night before so that's what I got. Didn't live up to the one I had in Spain, but then again I'm biased. Hence the 4- half a star deduction for the drink and the other half for a sandwich that was just alright. But the grapefruit draft was AMAZING. My friends ended up ordering two so that's great. I'll be back. As always, happy eating and drinking MarieMG.

This is a cool little bar, we came here after dinner on a Saturday and started out on their patio. No table service, order at the bar and bring your drinks to your table. It's a cute little patio, with tall fences so you don't bother the residential neighbors, but unfortunately they allow smoking and the smoke was bothering us so we moved inside. Inside it's a much more romantic atmosphere, lots of low lighting and tiny tables. We enjoyed our drinks, I had the Shargarita and my sister had their lavender gin cocktail. Pretty standard prices for Brooklyn. I'd certainly go back!

They serve sandwiches from Brancaccio's (heavenly, chewy, deliciousness from a classic Brooklyn deli...) with a side of chips.

Michelle's is ALWAYS clean, well stocked and full of Panamanian pride. I'm not Panamanian or Caribbean, but one need not be to feel what it means to have a place to gather where folk understand you, celebrate you and welcome you. I certainly wish a younger sect will discover this place and respect it enough to want to see it remain forever. Now, I do wish they'd bring someone on to introduce some classic cocktails and how to execute them. Some of the ingredients they use for cocktails have fallen out of favor long ago. Keep shining Team Michelle's!!!

I had some amazing conversations and met some really great people. That bar was The Old Gallery. And this gives me those vibes except it's less divey, more Caribbean food with a West Indian vibe. That's my people so I fit right in. The bartender is great. We had amazing conversations. The other patrons were friendly and the drinks were uncomplicated. Just straight up, just the way I like it. Vodka Cran please! Light on the Cran! I came here after grocery shopping at Stop & Shop. And once after I got a tattoo. Hey! Don't judge me! It was tiny! Like one of those from a Cracker Jack box. Anyway, it's no frills but also just what I needed. I haven't had the food but it always smells amazing and everyone says it's really good. I'm sad I didn't get to back for the past few weeks. Now indoor dining is shutting some places down. I really hope these beloved places survive and we all can see each other on the other side with a shot in hand and a smile. I first heard of this place featured from an episode on Eater with…read moreGeorge Motz saying he loved coming here, funny enough the day I went, which was 1/24/26, George was eating dinner at the bar. It's a cute place, nothing fancy but a place you really can come hang out any day of the week. If I lived in the area I could see my myself ending up here any day of the week. I guess that's why when I went with fellow Yelper Sara L she said she has gone many times and wanted to take me since she knew I would enjoy it. The food: Gebackene Champignons- Fried Mushrooms- OK to preface they are kinda plain and boring the first few pieces. But the more I ate it the more I was like wow, these are actually good and kinda addictive. I enjoyed these and I enjoyed they gave a nice big portion. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA&select=wXMnSOv4x6gNG-gHh3t40Q Potato Latkes- These were on the specials page and they were good, nice crunchy and fried well but these were mixed with something since the taste was a bit different and the color wasn't that nice golden brown color you associate with latkes. Goulash- This was a dish George had and honestly, they were amazing. Highly recommend. I thought the flavor but more importantly the texture was amazing. A lot of times when you have slow cooked beef, they could sometimes get stringy and chewy, no not here. Also the spätzle was a really great pairing. Mussels- These were some fat ass mussels. The flavor of them was good, the night I went they were spicyyyyyyy. This was a well made dish and i appreciate their creativeity but I do prefer a simple garlic shallot butter and white wine where I want to drink the broth afterwards. The broth on this was too spicy too drink. Roasted Boneless Pork Chop- Pork chops are always a gamble and the one here was just OK. The sauce it came in was nice, kind on the heavy side but a delcious cream sauce. The pork was cut super thin and unfortunely they came out dry and chewy. The fries were a nice shoestring fry which were nice and crunchy. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA&select=14_-Katrn9Glu-wA65-CHg

The salvaged wood interior and candlelit ambiance create this inviting space that feels both historic and lived-in. It's cozy enough for a relaxed family dinner but still feels special. We've worked our way through quite a bit of the menu over the years. The mushroom tagliatelle is rich and satisfying, the crispy chicken sandwich hits the spot, and the charred orange cauliflower couscous topped with smoked salmon is a real standout--beautifully balanced. The pan-fried okra and fried shrimp are great for sharing, and the rainbow beet salad adds a nice fresh note. I also appreciate how kid-friendly they are without dumbing anything down. My kids are happy with their chicken poppers and quesadilla while we enjoy the more adventurous stuff. The place is named after Jacques Cortelyou's famous 17th-century map of Manhattan, and somehow that history feels present without being gimmicky. It's just a really solid neighborhood spot that makes you appreciate Ditmas Park. Cortelyou Road has a lot to offer; The Castello Plan is a great option to grab a tasty bite while exploring the neighborhood. Extra point for a killer music selection the night we visited, featuring Foo Fighters, David Bowie, Queen, Dire Straits, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Simple Minds, Eric Clapton, and more! ------------------------------- [1] https://www.yelp.com/biz/ditmas-park-halloween-house-brooklyn
