Double Gotham smash burger
Andrew K.

Enjoyed my first time coming here. Simple, no frills dining with plenty of room indoors and outside. We selected beers from a variety of craft offerings and we brought them to our table. Then we ordered and paid for our Gotham Burger food which was brought to our table when ready. The smash burgers were quite good. Very juicy and a bit crispy on the ends though a bit greasier than I prefer. The frickles were just right, moist, crispy and seasoned with some spice. We will be coming back!

The very refreshing Super Vliet from Threes Brewing!

Steve and I had the beer from Threes Brewing once again after quite a bit of passage of time from our last experience with them. We always thought that their beer was solid and this latest experience was no exception to that in the slightest. We had the Super Vliet which was a dry hopped pilsner that proved to be very refreshing and enjoyable. Flavor features to expect from this beer are a clean aftertaste, hoppy, crisp and a nice presence of an apple flavor. The beer is bright in color to visually compliment the flavor profile. Glad to have returned to Threes once again for another beer experience!

Live and simply great crowd for cheap beers and small eats. Self sitting and super casual. Share indoor sitting with Gotham Social so it's a Win-Win situation.

Cool spot. Came here for their partnership with Gotham Burger. The burger was phenomenal, but the first order of fries came out totally cold. That said, they happily replaced them. The beers were solid as well. Definitely a good spot to visit if you're in the neighborhood. The place has a nice communal vibe and can be both quiet or loud depending on the day and if there is a crowd or not.

We saw Threes Brewing on a list for top burgers in the city! We came here on a Thursday evening and the ambience was soooo cute. It was dimly lit, cozy, and each table was candle lit. There were plenty of tables open so we snagged a cozy corner one. It felt like we were in a private dining area! While there were only two waiters outside the bar staff, the service was phenomenal. We both got 16oz pours (Vliet and What's the Point). The vliet was a Pilsner and the What's the point was a hazy ipa. We got Buffalo wings to share as an appetizer and two smashed burgers. All the food came out PIPING hot! The wings were delicious in the Buffalo sauce. Cooked perfectly, crispy, and not too saucy. Now onto the burger... we love burgers with sesame buns and that's why we went with the smashed burger! We debated getting a double Patty of bacon, but decided not to. The smashed burger was delicious. It came with a homemade "Big Mac" sauce with a little kick to it. Sooooo good wow. I already can't wait to come back for another burger. The fries were hoooot too - fresh out the fryer and nicely salted. This honestly was a great meal and we will be coming back!

sometimes a smash burger & a flight will turn your entire day around. Make sure to order a double to maximize the crispy edges. Sitting outside in a nice afternoon also elevated our experience. We tried a couple of different styles of beer & genuinely enjoyed all of them in our flight.

The Greenpoint satellite location for the small Brooklyn brewery operates more like a gastropub and one with ample seating, both indoor and outdoor. Some of the outdoor seating on the side walk was a little weird which was where we sat. However, it was a prime and thereby enjoyable spot for people watching and quelled some of the feelings of envy for those posted up nearby under the sturdy covered patio. We ordered just three tasters a la carte, two hazy IPA's and a stout. Nothing very noteworthy about the IPA's, just a little thin and too fruity. The stout, on the other hand, was a breath of fresh air from a world wrought with pastries with its smooth, roasty character. Service was slow and the place, for the size, just seemed understaffed. Full bar though and plenty of pub food for all the right kind of comfort.

Threes is one of the better brewery bars to visit. This location is more chill than their other one and the other ones in the area, and they always have a nice selection to choose from. The barrel aged beers is my picture are a couple of great examples. I also love the wandering bine, but it's priced much higher to stay than to go. During covid they have some tables outside, which you might be able to tell from the picture. Also pictured is the hummus they offer to cover the food requirement, which is good, even if the bread they serve it with leaves a lot to be desired. Great beer makes up for some faults though!

Arancini. So good! Crispy on outside and firm and chewy on inside. Sweet and salty. $10. Very filling.

Threes redeemed themselves. Back to 5 stars. Customer service was great tonight everyone was so nice. And me and my friends loved the burgers we ordered. Manager Katy was very nice and accommodating. I am so glad Threes took my last review to heart. I noticed a baguette was added to the bratwurst item which was my request! Had a great night tonight and we will continue being patrons of Threes!

A HAITIAN PIZZA BAR OF SORTS…read more One of my co-workers suggested that we meet her after work because: (1) It's walking distance from work...The equivalent of taking the long way home. (2) We both needed a drink after an eventful, extra long work shift. We got the rum punch which was good but too strong for a Tuesday. (3) I had a craving for Haitian-style herring so we shared a herring pizza. Please note I approached this slice with the most apprehension that I ever had in life and was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed it. Their pizza crust has an interesting crunch and flakiness to it that definitely giving homemade with a unique flair. The sauce was holding on to the generous amount of mozzarella while the herring and peppers were the shining star toppings. I enjoyed it so much that I would definitely order it again. If you are looking for a chill bar atmosphere with reimagined Haitian food classics to nosh on then come on in. Thursdays might not be so chill because it's Dance Thursdays and a DJ will be spinning Konpa chunes. It's work a try.

On the positive side, it's a very spacious bar and I saw board games stacked up, which tells me it can be a fun place to hang out. Now to the not as great. I sat at the bar and after looking at their cocktail menu, I ordered a French 75. You can imagine my surprise when I was served a drink in a single rocks glass which is basically what you'd serve an old fashion or other cocktail in. A French 75 needs to be in a flute. And at first, I thought maybe they don't have any flutes. Which still perplexed me because why have a French 75 on the menu if you don't have the right glassware. But I looked behind the bar and lo and behold, saw a flute. So not sure what that was about. The drink itself was ok. The other weird thing is that when I ordered, she rang it up and handed me the handheld device to pay. Since I was sitting at the bar, I'd expect to at least be asked if I wanted to open a tab or to just wait. Payment before the drink was made just rubbed me different. And of course, gratuity was tacked on, also rubbed me wrong. Because while I planned to tip, adding your own tip automatically to 1 drink is icky.

Bartender Camden was welcoming and friendly, it was fun to chat with him on a quiet afternoon. It seemed like she didn't want to be there and anytime I asked questions about the beer, she had an attitude like I was bothering her. I ordered a flight and I enjoyed the beers. They have some great tasting beers on tap. The music was great, it was a blend of 90's jams. They don't serve food, but they allow you to bring in your own. The decor was simple, felt a bit cold and the vibe was chill. It's a small interesting space, when we arrived it was just us and 2 other small parties. When we left, there was a chaotic stroller party happening in the back. The brewery filled up pretty quick on a Saturday afternoon, with one slow moving angry woman pouring beers, it took awhile to get a beer. If the woman behind the bar had provided better customer service, I might have left a higher scoring review. I really wanted to like this place. Will I be back, probably not.

BierWax is a craft beer and vinyl record listening bar that opened in Brooklyn, New York in 2017…read more It was founded by DJ and record collector Chris Maestro. Born in Queens to a Guyanese father and a Dominican mother, Maestro grew up in Flushing, Queens with a fervent love for hip-hop. He started DJing in his early 20s and has collected records obsessively ever since, particularly in genres that gave rise to hip-hop: funk, soul and jazz. He was bitten by the craft beer bug during a trip to Hong Kong in 2005, and his search for new brews led him to craft beer festivals and brewery tours. Early on, Maestro noticed that there weren't a lot of people of color at craft breweries or craft beer bars. He longed to open his own space where people like him could feel right at home and discover new beer in the process. In addition to BierWax's finely curated tap list, the bar is also home to over 5,000 vinyl records. The bar frequently hosts guest DJs as well. BierWax has a strict "No Requests Please" policy--not because of "High Fidelity"-style snobbery, but because there are just too many records to manage. If every customer made a request, the bar would need a dedicated team just to comb through the stacks. And then who would pour the beer? I visited BierWax this past summer while I was cycling around NYC. I was trying out a number of Brooklyn and Queens breweries and pizzerias and this was my second stop of the day. Craft beer and vinyl are two of my favorite loves, so I felt right at home here. Not only was I impressed by the craft beer selection but also the enormous amount of vinyl records adorning the shelves on the wall. There was a great playlist going during my visit and the bartender on duty was a really cool guy who engaged in some great conversation with me. I enjoyed pours of The Seed's "As Simple As Renewal?" (Kellerbier) and The Drowned Lands' "Summer Terra" (Double New England IPA). Both of them were fantastic! Although craft beer bars that feature vinyl are becoming more common now, BierWax is a place that is truly special. I highly recommend this bar to craft beer and/or vinyl aficionados and I really hope to return!
