We recently had our wedding at the Threes Brewing Greenpoint location and it was amazing. The venue at night is beautiful with the large windows in the front. The wood throughout the venue made the pictures look amazing. Alyssa kept everything organized and made us feel comfortable the entire time. At one point before the wedding we realized we had not eaten and she went into the back and made us a small sandwich. Way above and beyond. We had family and friends from all over and many said it was one of the best dinners they have ever eaten ever. We were extremely stressed leading up to the event but Alyssa also had suggestions on what previous couples had done as far as guest books, card boxes and music. The bartenders were also great and even signed our guest book. If you are planning a somewhat low key wedding in a beautiful space (and delicious beers), this is the place. read more

Stopped by February 2, 2019 for a friend's super informal celebration of his engagement. We originally met at Ramona, a swanky looking cocktail bar next door, but the bride and groom to be did not make reservations and it was too packed so our group migrated to Threes @ Franklin & Kent. Turned out great because this place has a room to the left of the entrance that allows for intimate group gatherings. We were likely about 40 people comfortably flowing in an out of the room, but it could probably have held about 50 standing guests packed like sardines. Three's caters all of their food from Purslane, an established Brooklyn caterer with an ingredient-driven, sustainability-minded, slow food mentality. I had the grass fed beef burger $12, which comes with a choice of either french fries or simple salad. I chose the salad. For +$1 you can add caramelized onions. +$2 and you can add cheddar cheese, sunnyside egg, or bacon. It was your average burger and the spring mix salad was simple as can be. More food came out later because the bride's mother generously ordered vegetarian shareables. $4 sweet and salty mixed nuts were primarly peanuts but was fantastic on the rare occasion you caught a walnut or cashew. $6 pickled seasonal veggies consisted of cold cauliflower, onions, carrots, and could have used a bit more tang. $10 falafel bites with harissa yogurt dip were decent. $7 fries with spicy mayo were good primarily because of the tasty spicy mayo. $11 mac n cheese with cheddar, smoked gouda, garlic breadcrumbs came out only warm, as if they barely managed to reheat it. It could have used a lot more time in the oven. $14 pita and dip platter consisted of hummus (bland), beautiful beet tahini (refreshing and topped with wonderful hazelnuts--this was the best dip!), and eggplant baba ghanoush topped with an olive or two. There were a ton of beers on tap but my companion chose Table Beer, a Belgian Saison style beer brewed by Mystic Brewery in Chelsea, MA. It was light and pleasant enough that he ordered another of the same later on in the evening. Servers and bartenders were attentive as can be when handling our larger group. Decent Greenpoint bar if you're already in the neighborhood, would definitely not go out of my way to get to. For food, you're better off walking the few blocks over to Paulie Gee's slice joint. read more

Late Thursday night and this spacious bar had plenty of seating available outside for the two of us. Another outpost of the Three's brewery - this particular spot has slimmed down menu and a welcoming interior for both groups and dates. Draft list has options for 10 oz, 20oz, and even 60oz pours. Settled on the 20 ounce of the "You People IPA" ($9). A giant mug of a hoppy bitter that you can slowly sip. Enjoyed the space outside and one of the staff even brought a water bowl for my dog (without us asking). Cool place to wind down the night. Not as big of a draft selection as their actual brewery, but plenty of cans and bottles to enjoy as well. read more

Really disappointed with our experience tonight. This used to be our go to place since moving to Brooklyn in 2020 but made a reservation to bring our friends from out of town (since it's always so busy on weekend nights) and when we showed up there was no room for us. We were told 10/15 minutes and by the end of the 15 minutes we were told it would be another 20. Hopefully they can fix their system to either not accept reservations or turn walk-ins away when they have them. read more

There are high end steak houses that don't even charge that much...if the burger was phenomenal I wouldn't be writing this review but nothing about the burger stood out. Go down to McCarren Cafe and get the burger for $9...is delicious and won't disappoint like this place. read more

Not sure how I haven't written a review for this place yet. Huge fan of Threes Brewing. I normally gravitate towards heavier beers but I find literally every single one of their beers so drinkable and it really lets me explore my palate with what I like and dislike. I've been to the original location in Gowanus numerous times over and this spot a few times. There was a Yelp event here years ago and whenever I find myself out in Greenpoint for whatever reason, I make a point to stop in if I have time. Their happy hour is great and probably honestly better than their other spot: I think all drafts are like $2 off until 7pm as well as a burger and beer special. Well drinks and wine are also discounted for non beer fans. A beer and a shot special all night long. I appreciate that they actually serve 16oz beverages here when so many breweries don't go further than 12-14oz now. Their ipas aren't too funky and have some depth and creaminess to them. The atmosphere is way way more chill than the Gowanus location that usually turns into a hipster freak show in the backyard when its warm outside. But this is just like I'm here to read my book, guy with the beard and plaid stop glooming moodily over at me, let me just enjoy my beer, man. I have to try their burger deal some day though. Went here for a birthday party. We were in a reserved party room with a few benches, bar top tables and chairs. They had open flame candles and white wood paneling. Simplistic. The space was good enough for the amount of people that were there. Overhead lights (although a few) were kind of bright and it got warm in there too. Still, our waiter was very attentive and patient. Made ordering easy with his tablet. We eventually got food but had to order it separately and bring in on our own, only real downside. I feel for at least parties, they should cater to that but the place was a bit relaxed despite their fancy cocktails and IPAs. As mentioned in other reviews, no host to greet you in main area. You seat yourself. Also big canister of water for people to help themselves. Smart idea. Overall, good drinks, good food, decent space to hang. Definitely recommend. read more

Threes Brewing is awesome, so imagine how excited we were when this Threes pop up appeared just minutes from LIC! They make some world class beers. They just recently won the "Governor's Cup" for craft beer in NY. Anyway this place is different than the spot in Gowanus. They've got a good selection of Threes and other taps, but not as many. They do have a fair bit of cans and since their IPAs are amazing you can never go wrong with a can of SFY. The location of this bar is great and the decor is lovely as well. The staff is super friendly and helpful and they've got clean bathrooms. It's really a chill place to grab a beer and talk with your friend or friends. Does not have a crazy party vibe which is great. Also pretty close to Greenpoint Brewing and the Brooklyn Expo center if you're looking for more to do. The only reason it's not 5 stars is the catering/event booking. The person in charge was very helpful, just the prices are unlike any in the market place. You're looking at about $3 grand before you even add food and drink and other bars with bigger spaces and larger selections charge that amount for a party of 60 with all you can drink for 3 hours. Great space with a HUGE rotating selection of house beer. Besides the phenomenal go-to selection in cans and bottles, I really like the frequent menu changes and adventurous flavors (oak, apricot, pine, nectar etc). I also like that you can order small or large pours, either diving into your fav or trying many different brews. Food is awesome and fast. Falafel bun and Lamb Meatballs are great go-to's. Have to say it was probably the most disappointing burger that I've had in a long time. Over salted, over cooked, super dry and tough. It's a shame that a beautiful venue, with AWESOME staff and great service, and such GREAT beer can can such AWFUL food. This was my third time visiting. The first time we just went for their beautiful brew, and munched on a burger and fries: nothing you can't get at Macdonalds or any simple burger cart anywhere else. The second and third time it was a disaster: extra oily fries, pounds of salt on both the parm sandwich and the extra-salty-saggy-super-extra-fried chicken sandwich. And then, we had the broccoli rabe/rampini, pliable and yielding, greasy and so mediocre it almost reminded me of a former president. I like this place, don't get me wrong; I love their beer, and the great and amazing group of hardworking people at this place, but their food... Wow. We recently hosted my sister-in-laws baby shower at Threes @ Franklin & Kent and there aren't enough kind words to say. We loved it! Trying to plan a baby shower in Brooklyn when you live in DC is not easy. But working with Alise and Alyssa was like having my own party planning team on site. From the beginning they were professional, detail oriented and incredibly helpful. Any question that I had was answered quickly and directly. I was never left waiting to hear or wondering how things would happen the day of. They could not be easier to work with. The space was perfect for us. We hosted about 25 guests in their private room (called semi-private because there is no door, but it truly felt private). Plenty of room to sit, stand, mingle and they accommodated us with some day-of changes to the seating. We were also able to play our own music and control the volume during the party - so we could turn it down for gifts/toasts/etc. We also were able to buy some of their beer before the event started as "favors" for our guests. A big hit, especially with the Dads who came towards the end. The service was fantastic. In addition to Alise, we had a dedicated server (I can't remember her name, but she was amazing). No one was ever waiting for a drink or looking around needing anything. The food that we ordered through their catering partner was delicious! I was glad and surprised to see that Threes had a new location in Greenpoint! This place is great -- very spacious with a nice drink selection, with reasonable prices too ($7-9 for a 20oz). I got their basic Vilet pilsner, but there were some interesting choices on the menu as well (I think my roommate got one brewed with fruit punch and rock candy). Drink variety aside, I really loved the relaxing and cozy ambiance of this place. Went with my roommates on a Wednesday after dinner and it made the night. Overall, it seems like an awesome place to grab a drink with a few friends, on any day of the week. I'll be back often! read more

This place still has it going on. We were lucky enough to check this place out at an elite event a while back and had the best time. Unfortunately, we hadn't been in Greenpoint in a bit, and as such hadn't had a chance to catch up with these guys. That changed last night post Springs event, and man am I happy this place was suggested for the post party. The atmosphere is still chill and the staff is just as cool as I remember. Better yet, they have some amazing Threes beer on tap (of course) and for a reasonable price. A 20oz pour will set you back 10$, a beer and a shot (10oz pour of your choice) 8$. If you know how awesome Threes is, you'll recognize that is a total steal. My goto this evening was one of the two amazing saisons they had going (the name of which is escaping me), and a few stolen french fries courtesy of Keny. Perfect spot for a low key evening with old friends, if you're in Greenpoint this place is absolutely worth checking out. read more

I absolutely love Threes. I was one of their supporters when the Gowanus location opened up and have since backed their other Kickstarters. Their Franklin & Kent location is also awesome, and I love that they're going for different feels for each location. No backyard at this one, but they still have live music (I've watched members of the Dap Kings play for a Yelp event), and a performance space (there was some standup going on the most recent night we went). Of course, their beer selection is top notch - all your Threes favorites, plus some guests. $8 10oz draft and shot special! And not all rail crap either! This location also has food from Purslane Catering with some standard pub fare (and some surprises). Ordered some fries because nothing goes better with beer than fries. Their flatbread was good too. Last weekend, we attended an engagement party for our daughter at the Franklin & Kent Three's location. The small event space is right adjacent to the main bar and was perfect for the 35 (or so) people that attended. I'd never been to Three's before and was super impressed. The staff was super helpful and our server went above and beyond, taking great care of everyone. Everytime anyone needed a drink, she was right there! It helps that there was a good selection of nice Three's beers, but also the food was really good as well. I think everyone had a really good time in the fun casual atmosphere. I'd recommend this location for a small celebration with good service, food and drinkies at a good (for NYC) price point. read more

My daughter had her 26th birthday in Three's private room last week. It was a great venue to host 30-40 people in comfortably and the drinks and food were delicious. The room makes for a nice atmosphere for hanging out and drinking on a rainy or cold day. We pre-ordered the grilled cheese, sliders, and mezze plate which the crowd loved. The room had an AUX cord so we could play all our own music which was exactly what we wanted. Alise the events coordinator was so pleasant to work with and made the day perfect. Athena our server was so nice and attentive to all the guests. She memorized everyone's drink orders and worked so hard to make sure everyone was happy with their beer, wine and cocktails. Cute place, came with a group of friends later in the night and every beer sounded magical with descriptions like "blue raspberry icee, gushers, cocoa puffs, etc." None of the beers tasted like the exciting descriptions and that's fine, just misleading. Their beers were also 80% IPA's which left me with one option for a witbier and one option for a cider - meh. I went to buy a 4 pack to go but they only had 3 left so they could only sell me 1... Great drink selection, good server recommendations. Service was spotty, very friendly but had 15-20 mins of everyone having empty glasses each round before being able to order more. They also never gave us enough plates, silverware or water cups for the table which felt odd every time asking for the right amount. Food was not good unfortunately, the popcorn shrimp was the single saltiest food I've ever tried, almost like it was tossed in salt, very strange. Fries very salty as well. EVENT REVIEW-- TL;DR-everything was beyond amazing. Event Planning- I had to start here because I had the easiest, most helpful experience planning my boyfriends surprise party. Alyssa, the Events Coordinator was absolutely fantastic. I sent her a dozen emails over the course of 2 months and she always responded to my questions within the day and usually within the hour. Helped me make any edits I needed to in my contract and gave me the best options from her past experiences! Thank you Alyssa!!! Food- I was planning the event for somewhere between 25-30 guests. I got the light catering package and 2 heroes. I was so caught up in the excitement that I didn't actually try the food but I made to sure to ask my guests after and they loved it! I think the sliders, and La Frontera hero were a favorite as per my unofficial poll. Side note-it ended up being A LOT of food and we had leftovers so if you are planning for similar amount of guests, just an FYI. They were kind enough to give us to-go containers in case anyone wanted to take some food home!! Drinks- I opted for the unlimited beer and wine package. It was great. The beers were SO GOOD, and we are a craft beer family and I was definitely impressed. They also gave us a choice of red, white, rose and sparkling wine too. SPECIAL NOD to our server who served all 25+ of us and I heard not ONE person complain about a thing. She was fast and sweet too! Space- I brought some balloons and banners (which my sister says Alyssa helped TREMENDOUSLY in decorating as well) but even without any extra decor the room itself is awesome. I've been going to the Threes Brewing in Gowanus for years now and was surprised to stumble upon this outpost of Threes! I'd never heard of it. Nice, large space with some fun food options (we had the chickpea fritters and they were decent though came with a strangely large amount of dipping sauce). The IPA Logical Conclusion is outstanding and you can buy cans to take home with you. I love that you can buy smaller tastes as opposed to full sized drafts. Bartenders were friendly. read more

We found Threes by searching for restaurant weddings in Brooklyn. We wanted to have a more casual wedding without the fuss and outdated traditional components- what fits that better than a restaurant run by a brewery in Brooklyn? We began planning about 13 months out from the wedding date. From the beginning, Alyssa from Threes was quick to respond, informative, and accommodating. After meeting with her, I knew we found our venue (we also gained a great place to hangout at)! At Threes at Franklin & Kent (Greenpoint location), you get to work with an amazing team. Purslane is the in-house caterer and they're known for making seriously good catering. The restaurant/bar is spacious, eclectic, and beautiful. Threes' beer is outstanding. Even more, the price point for the rental, bar, and catering is totally reasonable and 100% worth it. Leading up to the wedding, Alyssa was great about checking in and communicating expectations and changes. The day of we had a minor rain complication and Alyssa swung into action by setting up the parlor room so that our guests could be somewhere until the weather cooperated. She also worked wonderfully with our wedding coordinator and photographer. Not only did our guests love the food and bar, they came up to us personally to tell us how much they loved Alyssa and the staff. I can't think of a compliment higher than that. I cannot stress enough how important it is to trust your vendors. My partner and I didn't have a concern the entire day because we knew Alyssa and the Threes team was on top of it. My husband and I had a party for about 100 people at Threes in early December to celebrate our city hall wedding. We rented out the entire space for about 3 hrs. The atmosphere and staff were excellent, and Alyssa and Gretchen made every effort to make us feel at home and well cared for. They let us bring our own decor for tables (to complement what they already had in the space) and helped us set up quickly. Our guests loved the food and drinks, and the space had just the right combination of seating/booths and open areas to be comfortable for guests of all ages. We wanted an event that felt special and festive, more than just drinks at a bar, but without being "too fancy," so that it would be comfortable whether you were very dressed up or not, and Threes was the perfect space for that. I hadn't known that Threes Brewing had opened this pop-up prior to last Friday; otherwise, I'd have wanted to drop by months ago! In the area for a comedy show, a couple of friends and I headed here for a late dinner. Sharing the schnitzel, the grilled cheese, and the broccoli, everything was delicious! The schnitzel, served sliced over a thick bed of cabbage, was better than that which I have had in Vienna, the grilled cheese was probably the best I have had and believe it or not, the broccoli was, too! My wife and I held our reception here and it was out of this world amazing. The food was fantastic and the beer and alcohol selection was perfect. The space was exactly what we wanted for a party of 50 people, with ample seating indoors and out, a dance floor, plenty of bar space, and even a small space to catch a moment to ourselves. Tried grabbing a drink and some food outside with my dog but they told us some BS about health code. Here's a direct quote from the website: https://www1.nyc.gov/nyc-resources/service/6104/dogs-in-restaurants "Non-Service Dogs You can bring a non-service dog into a restaurant only if you are sitting in an outdoor seating area. Restaurants may allow dogs in outdoor areas, but they are not required to do so." So, I'm fine if they tell us dogs aren't allowed, but don't lie and say it's against health code. read more
