The chocolate in that cake was one of my favorite bites of the year so far. Insane! It's an amazing space with SO MUCH seating and also great AC! Definitely wanna get a bunch more food and a nice table next time im back! We were able to cop their Cinco de mayo specials and THEY WERE AMAZING! Spicy Italian sandwich was pretty good. The sandwich has a focaccia base (kind of reminds me of a croissant because of the butter-like flavor but wasn't very crispy or soft). I liked the texture and flavors of the toppings (salami, arugula, aged provolone, and creamy smear of spicy vinaigrette) more than the bread, which may be because it was already 2 and it's been in the display case. Some really cute and yummy pastries! Went on one of those extremely cold winter days, and the only seating available were these two big tables to the left of the door, and every time someone opened the door (which was like every 2 minutes), we got blasted by the air, so that was not great. I think my toes were frozen solid by the time we left. The pastries themselves were yummy though! I wished the carrot cake had a bit more depth/moisture/fluffiness, but the cream cheese frosting was great! read more

We stumbled upon this place after walking through Domino Park. There were a lot of people inside but we were able to find a seat along the window. The space is bright and aesthetic. The pastries were beautiful and you can see them baking in the back. Customer service was friendly and efficient. They bring your order to your seat. I enjoyed my coffee but not the elote cornbread. Came back again this afternoon this time, I had to try the Honey Squash with Ricotta pastry, and wow... I don't even know where to begin. I truly do believe that the best patisserie in the world is being crafted in Brooklyn these days. A unique combination of classically trained chefs and carte-blanche to innovate has resulted in cutting-edge offerings across the borough. Birdee is one of the more recent additions to the scene - while I was a bit skeptical based on their choice of location in the new redeveloped Domino campus, I enjoyed everything I tried. I loved the tomato English muffin - despite the name, this is nothing like any English muffin I've tried previously. The texture of the plump round bread is similar to a Tunisian "chappati," and almost evokes a Japanese soufflé pancake without the full extent of fluff. Cute bakery near Domino park waterfront in Brooklyn! A good amount of seating and cute pastries, although not my favorite in the city. Came here on a rainy Sunday with a friend around 11 am. I had heard good things about Birdee and was excited to try it out. There wasn't a line and all the pastries were clearly displayed. They had some cakes that looked really tasty, but we ended up opting for the pistachio cherry milk bun and the ham and cheese croissant. The ham and cheese croissant was pretty solid with good lamination on the croissant. However, the pistachio and cherry milk bun left a lot to be desired for me-- the cream filling was good, but the actual bun felt a little too heavy/dense and not fluffy like I would expect from a milk bun. A lot of tables had this pastry so it seems like a fan favorite, but maybe it's because it sounds good vs this being a repeat order. As far as seating went, while there is a good amount of seating pretty much all of the tables were constantly full. We had to stand for about 5 minutes after ordering before someone left their spot, so beware you may have to hover to get some seating. However, if it is a nice day outside you can consider taking your pastries to the waterfront and eating there! Lastly, it looked like a lot of people were getting the breakfast sandwich so if I went back I would definitely try it. However, Williamsburg is a little out of the way for me and given the plethora of bakeries in the city, I probably won't be back for a while. Sharing my honest review of the pastries from this hottest new bakery in Williamsburg: Located in the historic Refinery Domino, Birdee is an artisanal, upscale bakery and all-day café with a spacious, well-designed dining area. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to find a table even on the weekend. Led by Michelin-starred pastry chef Renata Ameni, the pastries are meticulously crafted with a professional touch. While the prices are on the higher side, the quality and attention to detail make them well worth it.  ＊Lemon Meringue Croissant $10 *** Quite possibly the best lemon meringue pastry I've ever had. The croissant was filled with a zesty lemon curd and topped with a toasted swirl of meringue. The meringue was incredibly light and fluffy. ＊Pepperoni Pizza Croissant $8 ** This savory croissant was my second favorite. The lamination was flawless--neat, uniform, and beautiful. Each bite had an extra crispy crunch, and I appreciated how the pastry felt light and flaky without being greasy or overly buttery. ＊Garlic Knot Pretzel $8 They heated up the garlic knot for us and served it with a marinara dip. It was soft, warm, and had just the right amount of garlic. While it didn't quite taste like a pretzel, it was a solid garlic knot overall. ＊Sun Gold Tomato Danish $12 We spotted a fresh batch of the daily special tomato danish, so we ran to the counter to grab one. However, it ended up being my least favorite pastry. The center was loaded with feta and possibly goat cheese (though it wasn't listed on the label). After hearing for many months about this all day bakery from a Michelin-starred pastry chef, I was super excited to try this place out. To start with, the space is super pretty, located in the new Domino refinery development. It's definitely a work friendly spot, with multiple people on laptops and free wifi available. On the food, maybe they were having a fluke day or we came too late (~1pm on a Saturday) for the better options, but it was a bit disappointing. We still enjoyed everything, but nothing stood out, and the two pastry items (pepperoni pizza croissant and the churro croissant) were missing any crispiness, lightness, and didn't have much flakiness. Overall, this place is a solid spot but unfortunately didn't meet my expectations. I wouldn't make plans to come back, given the ample amount of excellent bakeries in the city, but I wouldn't complain if a friend wanted to check it out either. read more

What drew me in were the pastries. What made me stay was the customer service. The girl at the register was extremely nice and super helpful. I wanted the chicken sandwich but it was too early, they only start serving that at 12pm. So I got the bacon egg and cheese and 2 pastries to go. I also ordered a mocha. For a Friday morning it was really packed inside but I was still able to grab a seat. The sandwich was good, nothing special but still good. The mocha was delicious. The pastries I ordered to go were the chocolate croissant and the cinnamon roll with maple frosting. I warmed them up the next morning and had them with some coffee. Continually impressed by Birdee! Everything I've had here has been wonderful - my go to on the drinks side is an iced dirty chai with oat milk, and their limeade is a real treat on a hot day. Their pastries are truly world class, and I appreciate that they go above and beyond to switch things up. My personal favorite is their Romeo & Juliet danish - it's definitely rich, but so so good and something I find myself coming back for constantly. The space is gorgeous too - I love being able to look into the kitchen and see the pastry chefs do their thing. Ratio is a bit heavy on the cream cheese with only 3 anchovies but tasty nonetheless. - Garlic pretzel (4/5): pretty good overall, it came with tomato sauce which I couldn't take because they didn't have small takeaway containers for it. - classic croissant (4.5/5): delicious, not as good as Nick + sons but it's definitely up there. Happy to say that time made this place - FUN. First visit was pretty mediocre all around, atmosphere, mediocre pastries .... But . This time it feels different. Way better . The tomato feta danish was decent but very liquidy/messy. Williamsburg has so many great bakeries, and Birdee has now entered the chat as well as the top of my list of must go to bakeries. The chef is Brazilian, and she adds a Brazilian touch to her pastries. My personal favorites included the guava and cheese croissant as well as the churro croissant. We also tried the delicious focaccia. My partner was really intrigued by the chocolate brigadeiro cake which we will definitely try next time. At a steeper price point, the place has a great cafe ambiance for people to do brunch or just coffee with a pastry to gather/catch up. A notable favorite that I will be returning to! read more

If I'm not mistaken there is another space next door that Birdee opens into that has a couple tables should there not be any seating in Birdee itself. As for the pastries, they're definitely small and run anywhere between 8-12 dollars depending on what you get but they are indeed GOOD. The salted caramel praline was packed with filling and the pastry itself was light, delicate and flaky. Strawberry coconut pastry had cute edible flowers atop and was fresh, sweet and a little tart. Their Boston cream croissant is AMAZING. I haven't stopped thinking about it ever since. We came on a weekday and the cafe was busy. There was a mix of people doing work and hanging out. The space is modern, brightly lit, and clean. They have different types of seating available. The service was fast and if you're eating in, they will bring the food/drinks to you. There is also a bathroom and wifi. We got the strawberry tart which was a perfect snack. I was going to get the hojicha but they said they could only do it hot, so I got the iced chai instead. The chai was good but not that strong. After hearing about the amazing pastries here I wanted to stop by. It's located very close to the water in Williamsburg. First, it's a really beautiful place, very cozy and relaxing. On a visit to NYC, I thankfully didn't have to do any research ahead of the trip, as my trusty relative who lives in the area put together a pretty perfect itinerary. One of our stops included Birdee, which is pretty to new the area. It opened this April (2025). The space is such a vibe. Located in the former Domino refinery. That entire building is really awesome to look at. The rotating pastry case is gorgeous and continuously replenished (at least while we were there). They also had some ready made items like a chia pudding, that was probably one of the best I've had. I enjoyed my ice matcha, while my husband had a cortado. The wait for the coffee was a bit of a nuisance and the pickup area can get crowded. It's also a cafe with a savory breakfast and lunch menu. I'd return here to try the other items. read more

Known for their churro croissant, that's what I had with cold brew from a coffee house in Bushwick. The churro is served on a warm plate, a unique feature. The croissant was fabulous! A delightful mixture of the layers of fine pasty, salt on top of the caramel dollop in the center. My taste buds had a hint of the Costco churros of decades ago with the fine sprinkling - like fairy dust - of sugar with the savory of the salt and caramel. Service was friendly and prompt. Let's talk about Birdee and the Domino development! I think most people who live in the neighborhood are pretty taken with the park itself, especially during quieter weekdays, while knowing that the general complex, and ambitions of its real estate mavens, are being massively overdeveloped, and probably leading to some unnecessary rent hikes. Only a dozen or so people were ever seen at the (very cute) ice rink this past winter, and the retail offerings along the Kent Ave side mostly just include a nearly block-long high-end "weed and lifestyle store". It's attractive and female-founded, so let's give it a chance to thrive. While only the Refinery itself can tell you its current occupancy numbers, anyone on Grindr can confirm the new Equinox is well-populated. Enter Birdee, a new "all day café" - from some experienced team or other. Prices for some of their sandwiches (north of $24) would be shocking at the Polo Lounge. The coffee offerings are more manageable and are fine. A croissant I ordered tasted like any other croissant in Williamsburg (how much can you do there really?) while my tuna melt ($17) came on a sort of lukewarm thin round pastry and was a mass of conflicting tempertatures and textures, and didn't taste like much at all. I was confused. The service made me think of the kind vs. nice debate that perpetually rages about NYC vs. LA. They were nice, but not warm, both times I went. The space is the biggest draw, with pretty arched cathedral windows giving you great views of Kent Avenue's billboards. There is ample, comfortable seating and their Wi-Fi works. The space is nicely spread out, and it bleeds around a corner and into the lobby of the Refinery itself. Sadly, only one bathroom for all. Napkins, straws, water, etc. are placed in odd locations and strangely aren't brought to you by your server (you order at the counter, and you get a number which you place on your table), even if you order a small sandwich that costs more than some dinner entreés in fancy midtown restaurants. The music is the biggest indicator, besides the prices/food, that the operation isn't quite running on all cylinders yet: loud, blaring, beat-heavy EDM seems to be locked into a dance of death with those on laptops, and those having meetings, or simply in conversation with one another. The music seems to be asking, "just how good ARE your noise canceling headphones?" Customers come equipped. The crowd seems to be all-post-Equinox, wearing high end loungewear and expensive exercise garments. Not as many suits, Thank God. To its credit, Birdee is waaaaay more together than Pura Vida, Domino's Northernmost competition, in THAT whole under-occupied office complex past N 12th. PV struggled to make me a cold brew in under 25 minutes on my initial visit, and can take a long time to get food to you (it has since improved, and remains surprisingly popular). I like Birdee's layout, it has a nice location, and we're losing a lot of our cafés, so these new offerings remain necessary. Birdee is hardly "all-day" as it is closed some days and closes by 4 on the days it is open. But it is there. And hopefully it will get better. read more
