Tarot latte
Maria R.

Service is friendly and fast. Tarot latte was light but still delicious and the strawberry matcha bingsoo was really good it has the sweet crunch and creamy components.

Bingsoo heavily relies on lots of toppings layered all throughout. Their machine is able to making super fluffy shaved milk ice, but it really lacks flavor which would be normal/great if not for the lack of toppings. I felt that there was very little flavour coming from the syrups, not enough condensed milk for the size, and not enough corn flakes/mochi/strawberries to give lots of textural variety throughout. With a 20$ dessert, I expect all of these things and more. I would prefer to make this at home or go somewhere else the next time. HOWEVER, I wish I knew that there was lots of powders/dustings on the counter to add extra flavour. These include coacoa powder, pistachio powder, and taro powder. If i knew beforehand I believe my experience would have been much more memorable and enjoyable.

First time. Will write review.

Time of Experience: Came here 10/11 - shortly after they opened | 10:37 A.M EST. Was a rainy day and needed something warm. Service: (10/10) They were still filling the whoppers (E.G. with beans - Espresso) but I only waited 3-4 minutes or so. It's a Saturday. It's China town. Know the environment context - and given that the wait was no problem at all. Most importantly when the lady greeted me for my drinks, it was all smiles and welcoming. Excellent service and had no issues with my order. Inside & Vibe: (15/10) This is really in my opinion - the reason to come here. There are plenty of seats and tables in excellent ambient lighting to sit down. When it opened, there was already groups of friends - family sitting down and talking. A nice contrast to a raining day and a China-Town area with high foot traffic. I always ask wrt a coffee shops interior - can I see myself here for over a hour doing work, doing random stuff - the answer is a clear yes. Loved the vibe, amount of tables, and the lighting. Drinks & Price: (7/10) Prices were a little high in my opinion considering it's Chinatown in Little Italy. I got a drip with an extra shot (Redeye) Got my spouse the standard latte with oak milk Total came out to a little under 10, not including tip. Cups weren't huge, but the latte art was excellent and my spouse had no issues. The drip itself was ok. I've had better, and the sole reason why I am docking one star off. Final Recommendation: (8/10) Highly recommended for anyone - of all ages! - as they serve a diverse menu for all demographics young to old - to visit Sweet Moment!

Ordered the green tea red bean bingsoo - mini for like $10 dollars. What do I think about it- well nothing to write home about but here we are. For future, we'd like to order the chocolate one or the mango one. Space was pretty big and reminded me of like - a traditional school? Service was fast and seating was easy. I've had better bingsoo so maybe order another one at another place.

Strawberry Matcha

Sweet Moment came up when looking for a place to meet friends for a sweet after dinner treat. There is a ton of space inside to hang out without feeling crammed. They offer a variety of beverages including coffee, tea, milk shaved ice, lattes (with specialty ones including matcha, taro, tiramisu) and some foods like sandwiches and waffles. The employees were friendly and explained the different menu items. I ordered the strawberry matcha and it was delicious! My friends also ordered other beverages that they enjoyed. Looking forward to going back to try one of their milk shaved ice!

I came all the way to China town because I know I would get a wonderful experience and was going have a presentation. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. A nice chili spot to grab a drink, snack or freshly made shaved ice. I placed my order and was inform it would be a 8 minute wait for my Mango Cheesecake shaved ice to be finish. It was so much seating available. Thank god! I notice in the back a gentleman was taking his sweet time preparing my Mango Cheesecske. He was so patient and delicate. He did scoop by scoop so it wouldn't mess up. Once he bought out my Mango Cheesecake saved ice by draw drop to the ground in wow!! Everything like the picture. The magic behind the master piece. Excellent experience. The kids and myself had an extraordinary time. We would be back!!

My sister spoke so highly about Sweet Moment. So we finally paid it a visit on a hot sunny Wednesday afternoon. It was a wonderful treat. Upon our arrival we go lost in Lil Italy. But we was determined to enjoyed a wonderful treat of shaved flavored ice. When we walk inside I was stunn by how large and relaxing the place was. The Bench in the front the middle a large seating table across the cashier and mini dessert area. Then straight to the back small seating for more intimate/personal connection. Once our shaved flavored ice was finish. I was stun by the presentation. It look so good it makes me not want to eat it. I try the Oreos and my sister try the mango cheesecake.

Cute place who adores BTS w life size cardboard figures and music. I love that they play BTS! It's kinda loud in here because there are a lot of people and the desserts are tasty. There is a bathroom but sometimes it's not in order and they do have Wi-Fi but they don't have it for Friday Saturday Sundays. Overall, it's a fun place to have dessert and talk with friends. But do not bring your car here because parking is terrible as in many places of New York City..

Nutella Banana Waffle Matcha Black Sesame Bingsoo
Kayla Y.

Came on a Friday night and this place was pretty full. Four of us were able to grab a seat and we ordered the Nutella Banana Waffle and the Matcha Sesame Bingsoo. The nutella banana waffle was delicious but standard in my opinion - nothing too crazy that made it stand out but was a table favorite. The matcha sesame bingsoo was alright, a bit difficult to eat since it had to flop over to really soak up the flavors. Some of the ice had no flavor whatsoever and we had to mix everything together, turning it more into an ice cream. We wished they added more matcha/sesame in the middle of the tower so it would be more flavorful.

A nice little cafe in Chinatown that offers shaved ice and bubble tea. Service was at the counter and quick. The green tea matcha dessert was delicious and well balanced in flavor (not too sweet). This was a great way to end the day.

Matcha Strawberry Bingsoo

Outstanding shaved ice cafe located in the heart of Chinatown! I have to make a stop at Sweet Moment every time I'm in NYC, and I'm blown away every time by how perfectly fluffy the ice is and the number of mix-ins they add to each bingsoo. I switch up my order each time I visit, but I've recently been obsessed with their mango and strawberry matcha bingsoos. They come in two sizes -- the small fits in a 16-oz plastic cup, which is the perfect size for 1-2 people, and the large option comes in a lovely little black pan and can easily serve 3-4. The mango bingsoo is delightful, with layers of their perfectly fluffy, milky, and slightly sweet shaved ice sandwiched between a slightly tart, slightly sweet mango puree. There are a few mini mochi pieces mixed in throughout the shaved ice, and then the whole thing is topped with a scoop of ice cream, fresh mango chunks, and little cubes of cheesecake. As a finishing touch, they drizzle on a bit of mango syrup and, to add a slight bit of crunch, a few cornflakes and a small wafer roll. The various pieces come together to create a great combination of sweet and tart, and there are so many different textures in each and every bite. Their strawberry matcha bingsoo is equally delightful, with layers of their perfectly crafted shaved ice studded with pieces of mini mochi, and slightly sweet and tart strawberry puree. The bona fide tour of shaved ice is topped with a huge scoop of matcha ice cream, whipped cream, fresh strawberries, and white chocolate shavings. Then, the entire thing is drizzled with strawberry and matcha syrups, which give the ice lovely stripes of white, red, and green. They definitely load up each of the shaved ices with plenty of mix-ins and toppings, although they could probably add just slightly more. The ratios are a bit off, so the last quarter or so of the shaved ice tends to lack a bit of flavor. The staff is also super friendly and there's a decent amount of seating, so you should be able to enjoy your shaved ice inside; even if you aren't able to snag one of the single-party tables in the back, there's a large communal high-top right next to the cashier counter that's a great spot to hang out and people watch. The front half of the store also often has a few small tables for local vendors (often folks selling k-pop merch), so you can also browse their selection as you wait.

Black Sesame Redbean Bingsoo
Megan W.

This summer, I saw pictures of their bingsoo in the summer and immediately made my way over to this cafe. Based on other reviews, I may have visited on an off day. Upon walking in, it was packed; there were trinket/jewelry vendors and kpop posters all over the walls. There is a good amount of seating, but the event may have drew in a huge crowd. People were standing around waiting for tables, and many were left sticky and dirty. My friend and I ordered a black sesame bingsoo to share; it was enough for both of us, but definitely more fitting as a single serving. Despite being busy, the order came out pretty fast. I think the ice could have been softer, and more flavor added.

Left: Mango and Cheesecake Bingsoo, Right: Earl Grey Latte
Nikhila H.

I dropped by Sweet Moment when I was in the area, and it was such a quiet, peaceful, lovely little dessert cafe. They have a very chill, laid back vibe going on, and the staff are all very sweet and efficient! There wasn't a line, but it seemed to me that all of the items were delicious and well-priced. I got the earl grey latte and wished it was a little stronger, so I let the tea bag sit in the milk for a while longer while I ate my mango and cheesecake bingsu (shaved ice). The bingsu was phenomenal - the shaved ice was topped with a drizzle of mango on top of ice cream with chunks of sweet mango and cheesecake bites. At the bottom, there was a layer of mochi with some more mango - absolutely decadent. They have small sizes and larger shareable sizes as well! Highly recommend this little cafe for dessert on a summer day.

No why would you.

Is indoor dining available?

yes! indoor dining is available again. A lot of tables! They also ask for yourr vaccination card for dine-in

Are there vegan options?

Is there wifi?

No wifi

Is there a vegan friendly option?

Pick up a phone and ask.

Can you get the bingsoo to go?

Yes! They have it in a cup if you get the smaller size so you can walk and eat. They still make it very cute. The bigger size can slo come in a container, it just won't be as pretty.

When do you guys start serving the watermelon bingsoo, because I see on the website that it's seasonal?

I don't see a question here.

Does this place accept cash?

Yes!

Are there charging outlets?

Yes they have a few in the back.

Any dairy free bingsoo?

Yes but you have to request no dairy when ordering

How much are the waffles?

It's about $11. I was just there last night :)

I heard that the watermelon bingso is only served for a limited time. Are you still serving it?

No we’re not. It’s because of the season that’s why we can’t get any good quality of watermelon anymore. Watermelon bingsoo will be back next year Summer!

Are you guys open on Thanksgiving?

Walk in and see.

Can you study there?

Yeah i think it's a good study place if there isn't too many people

How much is the mango cheesecake and the strawberry one?

There are two different sizes so the first answer isn't completely correct. I shared the small with my hubby and it was around $8.

How much is the watermelon shaved ice and the latte art?

Hello! Thanks for asking the Watermelon Bingsoo is $19 and the portion for 2-4 people. And the latte art you asked I think that is Creamart. Each drinks $5.

Do they offer dairy free versions of the creamart? Thank You

They have sandwiches, pancakes, French toast, potatoes, bakery options, etc. it seems that they are more of a coffee shop, so there were plenty of coffee and tea options. The homefries were really good, just a little oily and not as crispy as I would've liked. The cafe seemed pretty and well-liked, so I'm open to try their food in the future.

Buvette was able to accommodate me for an early dinner shortly after my arrival in New York,…read morespecifically the West Village. Buvette is one of five W. Village eateries helmed by power-chef duo Jody Williams and Rita Sodi; four are within a block of each other. I passed the other three (Bar Pisellino, Via Carota, I Sodi) on my way and all had lines out the door. Carota and Sodi are Italian, Buvette is French. There are 2 other Buvettes in Asia and one coming soon in London. Buvette does not do reservations. Buvette is a charming but tiny/cramped space, made more tiny within the last year by NYC's removal of pandemic-era street patios which greatly helped dining capacity. Buvette may sometimes have a few front sidewalk tables, and there's a tiny outdoor patio in the back. The tables and dishware are also tiny. There's a kitchen in the back, but some food is also prepared below the bar in front, where there seem to be some ovens. The food seems reliably consistent here. The menu is short but there are daily specials. I ordered a non-alcoholic ginger soda, crab tartine (a special), lobster a l'Americaine (lobster pot pie) and frites. The soda is always on the menu and is refreshing, with a nice snap of ginger. The crab tartine was fab, a fresh crab salad with avocado atop toast. The lobster pot pie was made in the under-bar oven, a small serving of lobster and veggies with a golden puff pastry topper. Delish. The frites were nicely crisp, served with an aioli. Service was okay, but my hot food took about 45 minutes to come out, apparently because my ticket was lost. Overall a pleasant meal, my first during this visit.
