Lucky Milk Matcha Latte Strawberry Lucky Milk Latte Lucky Milk Soft Serve
Austin L.

For February 2026, there is a new soft serve flavor with Lucky Milk and two new drink options! The Lucky Milk Matcha Latte adds a different kind of sweetness than a regular matcha latte and the Strawberry Lucky Milk Latte is a creamy rich strawberry milk. These are only available for a limited time at all Matcha Cafe Maiko locations! Each drink comes with a uniquely designed lucky milk cup sleeve

Banana Pudding Matcha Latte

I had my eye on Matcha Cafe Maiko for a few months now and my focus was to get my hands on a banana pudding matcha latte. During my last trip to NYC a few weeks ago, I made the mistake of trying to go to the location near Rockefeller Center. It was a day or two after Thanksgiving, so the streets were so packed you could hardly walk so I had to abort mission. So this time, I made sure to go to this location! It's a tight space inside just enough to fit a handful of people at once. But you can easily order at the kiosk and things move fairly quickly if there are only a few folks ahead of you. I ordered my matcha with 50% sweetness in anticipation that the banana pudding would be too sweet, but honestly it was pretty balanced. And I didn't find the banana pudding too sweet at all. It ended up being a very creamy drink which makes total sense based on the dessert topping, but probably a little thicker in cream overall than what I normally would love. But the drink was tasty and more or less what you'd expect it to taste like. This is a super cute shop though with a fun menu full of creative items, so definitely looking to explore some other drinks or soft serve in the future.

Service: 4/5 Food: 3.2/5 Price: $7-10 Came for their 3rd Anniversary BOGO deal. First time at this location + trying their matcha, previously I've only ever had their soft serve. This location is smaller than I expected. It's literally an alcove + shares a door with a Kyuramen. They make the most with the space though, inside is a counter + one 2-top table. What I Ordered: - strawberry matcha latte (hot): 25% is perfect sweetness for me, just enough to taste the strawberry without being too sweet, leaves a weird film in my mouth - matcha tea (hot): needs a little sweetness, 0% ends up bitter

Matcha ube soft serve

Came for the ube amazing amazing amazing. Got the matcha swirl - would recommend just the ube tho. There wasn't a ton of seating inside but some tables outside

Super yummy shaved ice! Matcha is a great flavor in this but also I think customers would enjoy more condensed milk inside the dessert! The toppings were great and the shop is super photo friendly and cute!

This place was packed when I got there. Many young people standing there and sitting down on tables outside of the place. It is a very tiny shop and you need to sit outside. There are 2 self serve kiosks to place your order and the staff is very busy behind the counter. I love the floor a lot! The floor has small green tiles and MATCHA is written on the middle of the floor! So cute! I saw that lavender was a new flavor that just came out and only for a limited time so I decided to go for the lavender soft serve in a cone and it was so good. Too bad the staff asked if I wanted it with another flavor and I decided to get it with matcha. After receiving it, I saw that there was too much matcha and not enough lavender. The lavender was sitting on the top and it tasted so good! I love it so much more than the matcha. The matcha however consumed and took over the cone. Cone was soft and fresh and easy to bite it. I also got an iced matcha latte and it was separating the whole I was carrying it in the bag. The milk and matcha couldn't mix it until I used a straw. Tasted really good and nice strong matcha aroma flavor!

This is a very tiny place where you can order sweet treats! Ordered the limited-time sakura soft-serve. It was kind of pricey (around 9 to 10 dollars) but the portion they gave me was big, so I guess that compensates for it. It took me a while to eat all of it because of that. The sakura flavoring was strong and prominent, which I quite liked. But I do feel that the soft serve had a bit more of the "ice" than the "cream", rather than a balance between the two. Sometimes as I was eating, it reminded me more of sherbet rather than ice cream. Regardless, I still really liked the Sakura soft-serve and establishment!

We stopped by to try their new seasonal Banana Pudding Matcha parfait cup, and it exceeded expectations. The cup is beautifully layered, with a creamy banana pudding base, ube, and their signature-grade matcha at the bottom. The banana pudding adds a nostalgic, comforting sweetness without overpowering the earthiness of the matcha. The ube contributes a subtle nuttiness and richness, rounding everything out for a well-composed and unique combination. Texture-wise, it's smooth and indulgent--definitely hits the spot. The service is quick on a Saturday afternoon. The space is small, not enough room to sit.

Came in for the matcha soft serve and wasn't disappointed! The texture was super creamy and smooth -- definitely high-quality matcha. Personally, I would've liked it just a bit sweeter, but my husband thought it was perfect as-is, so if you're into that bold, earthy matcha flavor, this is the spot for you. The shop itself is tiny -- more of a grab-and-go kind of vibe. It gets crowded fast and there's no real seating, so don't expect to hang out inside or outside as there's just 2 benches outside, no tables. That said, the service was quick, and the quality of the soft serve makes it worth the stop if you're in the area and if you are a latte fan, my friend said hers was fantastic! You order through tablets, so there is not much interaction with the staff.

My husband and I stopped by here for matcha ice cream after dinner. I love mattress is super excited to try this place. They have a lot of variety, between featured matcha tease soft skirt ice cream and Cones or cups and options to mix and lavender and ube. Highly recommend this please for any matcha cravings!

Everything I've tried from here has been delicious. Most recently I got the Ube/matcha soft serve which is a huge portion and so delicious. It wasn't overly sweet and the flavors blended well together. I also tried my friend's jasmine/muscat grape soft serve. The jasmine was delicious and would definitely get that alone next time although my friend loved both. Can't wait to come back to try more of their menu

I've passed this place so many times and finally got a chance to try it. The matcha soft serve lives up to its reputation. I wished there was more seating at the Bowery location but it's really just a small storefront in front of Kyuramen. It was windy the day I went and I wasn't looking forward to my hair having a taste of my soft serve. The girl working in the front was quick but looked like she didn't want to be there. I guess it doesn't matter much since most people just purchase and leave with their dessert. I got the Maiko special which was a parfait of matcha soft serve on top of azuki beans, corn flakes, aiyu jelly, green tea chiffon cake, and mochi. The matcha soft serve is a burst of concentrated matcha flavor and isn't too sweet. I liked the contrasting textures of the corn flakes and the pleasantly chewy mochi balls. I can see myself coming back for the matcha soft serve and I would probably try the hojicha soft serve next time too.

Literally phenomenal ice creams whenever I come here. Their soft serve is unbeatable. I also tried their take home pints so so worth the prices as well. They have the most unique flavors at great prices, the ultimate sweet treat to treat yourself. Surprisingly their matcha is not my favorite, it's usually the specialty flavors they have that I enjoyed the most. Their drinks also didn't stand out much to me just the ice creams but they are so worth it. Just beware there is little to no sitting area so expect to stand and eat

I've had Ten Thousand Coffee on my to-go list for the LONGEST. I finally went for the first time…read moreand there were so many drinks I wanted to try so I ended up buying 3. 1. The Jeju Green Tangerine Matcha honestly just tastes like a tangerine selter drink but in the best way, because I don't typically enjoy seltzer or carbonated beverages. I really enjoy the flavor and the carbonation isn't too strong, probably because I brought it home to drink. I don't really taste the matcha but I would definitely still order this again. 2. Matcha Einspanner. This is my first time having an Einspanner so I have no idea what I was expecting but this is DELICIOUS. It's so silky and smooth and the TASTE is just right up my alley. The matcha is light but you can still taste it. Absolutely, would drink this all the time if I could. 3. Purple Sweet Potato Latte. This. This. Omg, why haven't I tried this sooner?! The first sip and initial taste, I almost tasted nothing, just milk. And then all of a sudden, there's an explosion of flavor in your mouth. As a sweet potato lover, I was in heaven. I have absolutely no words for this drink, just try it. 100/10 recommend. This is probably my favorite one out of the 3 that I bought. I went around ... 2:45PM on a Friday and most of the seats were taken, if I remember correctly. There were a decent amount of seats and the space was decent. I liked the minimal aesthetic they had for the design of the interior. Not to forget, the staff at the register was absolutely wonderful, she answered all my questions, she's so sweet. I think I'm disappointed that I haven't tried this place sooner. Y'all get out of your comfort zone and try the Purple Sweet Potato Latte !! Or if not, just try this place out. I will definitely be recommending the Purple Sweet Potato Latte to all my family and friends.

I ordered an iced matcha einspanner ($6.95) with oat milk ($0.75) and loved that it already comes with a shot of espresso, so it was essentially a dirty matcha einspanner. I tried each layer on its own before mixing everything together and it was all really good. The matcha cream is the right amount of sweet and creamy and you can taste the matcha with just a hint of coffee. Since I'm a coffee fiend I added a bit more espresso when I got back to the hotel and it tasted even better while still keeping the matcha as the dominant flavor. Next time I would ask for less ice since it was freezing that morning, but on a warmer day the ice level would be perfect. Would love to come back to try their other drinks or order the einspanner again as a hot drink.

There is some counter space, but mainly for standing purposes. I ordered a standard Iced Matcha Latte with Oat Milk ($7.35) and my friend got her usual Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte ($8). Docking 1/2 point bc the matcha is pre-made. I'm a fan of the whisking process bc I do believe there's a craft to matcha overall. Surprisingly, my drink tasted fine and my bev was a good color, so I was pleasantly happy. We waited less than 10 min for a table to open up, but you have to be there at the right time, otherwise you prob just grab your drink + go. Overall, glad I tried Kijitora. It's not my first matcha choice, but it was decent for a standard matcha latte. Their specialty matcha drinks look to have mixed reviews, but I'm personally not a fan of sweet drinks.

The tote bags were so cute but they were kind of pricey in my opinion. A standard beige Kijitora bag was priced for $30 each! They had several designs for sale. I was just busy checking out the cool cat merchandise while I was waiting in the long line to purchase the matcha drinks. The line was exceptionally long! It was worth the hype though! When I was my turn, I got an iced strawberry matcha latte and an iced mango matcha latte. It was so pretty when I got them. The mango and strawberry paste were sitting at the bottom of the matcha latte. I had to stir and mix the fruits with the whole drink. Surprisingly it was not sweet at all and was just right! They made it in a way that wanted you to crave more of it. It was very addicting. I did not get onigiris this time but will be sure to get some next time I'm here. They were just $4 each for miso salmon, tuna mayo, mentaiko cod roe, sukiyaki beef, and chashu pork. What a decent price for one onigiri! I would definitely be sure to get the miso salmon next time I'm here. The place was very cute with nice little tables for individuals. The place was very cozy with lots of sunlight coming in. Very modern with plants all around. It was so loud with people talking over each other. There were too many people on a Sunday afternoon so I had to walk around or cut through people to get my way. It was that crowded. I also didn't expect this place to be on the second floor and the stairs to be that steep. It was hectic carrying my stroller upstairs. Luckily someone helped me get down! The stairs are very narrow so I had to hold onto the rail. It was not ergonomically friendly at all.

I probably never leave reviews in general, especially negative ones, but this experience was so…read moreegregious that I honestly felt like I had to say something. I've worked in restaurants and bars long enough to understand that staff drinking happens, but this was on another level entirely. I came in with a group of friends and one of the bartenders, Will, was so visibly drunk that it made the entire experience uncomfortable. Slurred speech, wobbling behind the bar, taking orders while chewing food with his mouth open -- it was honestly embarrassing to watch. He looked like he absolutely did not want to be there. At one point, my group had been trying to get his attention for another round for quite a while while he stood around talking with coworkers. We then watched staff take a shot together, and when he finally came over he burped mid-conversation and literally had whatever he had just been drinking dribbling down his neckbeard. That was the moment where the whole thing went from unprofessional to just gross. What made it worse was that it didn't seem isolated to one employee. Throughout the night we watched staff openly taking shots and drinking behind the bar like it was a house party instead of a business. There's a difference between bar culture and complete lack of professionalism, and this crossed that line hard. One of the friends I was with actually frequents the DUMBO location and said that the last time she was there, the same bartender also seemed intoxicated, which makes this feel less like a bad night and more like an ongoing issue. The DUMBO location itself is in an amazing spot, which makes it even more disappointing. But ownership seriously needs to get control of what's going on there before someone gets hurt or the place develops a reputation for having drunk staff on the clock. Unfortunately, the experience was uncomfortable enough that my girlfriends and I won't be coming back. I genuinely hope the employee mentioned gets help if this is a regular thing, because nobody should be working service in that condition.
