This matcha cafe was right outside kyu ramen we recently visited and seeing a few people gathered there made me want to give it a try. I ordered the ube soft serve. I'm not really big on ube as a flavor, but I still wanted to try it. Honestly, the flavor was a little too strong for me, but I'm glad I gave it a try! The menu is vast with lattes, Frappe and much more. Should definitely try!!
This time I had the Matcha drink with green tea soft serve on top! A great treat for a hot summer day! The only thing is it has a lot of ice which after eating the ice cream and sipping the matcha drink I had to throw a lot of ice but had to cleans them first because the ice was covered with matcha tea float. I also like their matcha tea I use for my breakfast. Next time I would like to try their store by Rockefeller Center! I just found out today! It's in midtown!
Matcha tea float was delicious although pretty expensive. Zero sugar matcha tea in combination with the soft serve wasn't too sweet and was very yummy. The soft serve was also a nice texture. Overall very high quality and enjoyable.
We were walking through Chinatown on our way to get food when we passed Café MAIKO, and it was impossible to resist! As someone who loves matcha ice cream, I had to stop in...and I'm so glad I did. The matcha is clearly high quality, and I loved all the different ways they incorporate it into their desserts. I ordered the matcha affogato over matcha soft serve, and it was absolutely delicious. My cousins got the mango sticky rice ice cream cup, and wow... the flavors were amazing! Everything tasted fresh, rich, and perfectly balanced. If you're a matcha lover, this spot is a must visit in Chinatown. I already can't wait to come back and try more of their menu. Highly recommend!

Conveniently located next to Kyuramen, I stopped by for dessert right after lunch. It's a tiny spot and one kiosk to place your order. Staff was welcoming and friendly. They get a lot of online orders so even though I was one of the early birds around noon, there is still a tiny wait. Not bad because the drinks came out quickly and delicious. I love their matcha here and the matcha strawberry latte was perfect.
Went to try the guava soft serve and is very good not too sweet .. will come back try other soft serve!!
I had my eye on Matcha Cafe Maiko for a few months now and my focus was to get my hands on a banana pudding matcha latte. During my last trip to NYC a few weeks ago, I made the mistake of trying to go to the location near Rockefeller Center. It was a day or two after Thanksgiving, so the streets were so packed you could hardly walk so I had to abort mission. So this time, I made sure to go to this location! It's a tight space inside just enough to fit a handful of people at once. But you can easily order at the kiosk and things move fairly quickly if there are only a few folks ahead of you. I ordered my matcha with 50% sweetness in anticipation that the banana pudding would be too sweet, but honestly it was pretty balanced. And I didn't find the banana pudding too sweet at all. It ended up being a very creamy drink which makes total sense based on the dessert topping, but probably a little thicker in cream overall than what I normally would love. But the drink was tasty and more or less what you'd expect it to taste like. This is a super cute shop though with a fun menu full of creative items, so definitely looking to explore some other drinks or soft serve in the future.

Everything complimented each other well and it was a great dessert. We also tried the mango cheesecake which was ok. It didn't have as prominent of a mango flavor. It's a cute spot, but small.

The Lucky Milk Matcha Latte adds a different kind of sweetness than a regular matcha latte and the Strawberry Lucky Milk Latte is a creamy rich strawberry milk. What I Ordered: - strawberry matcha latte (hot): 25% is perfect sweetness for me, just enough to taste the strawberry without being too sweet, leaves a weird film in my mouth - matcha tea (hot): needs a little sweetness, 0% ends up bitter
I got the ube matcha which is one of my favorites it actually taste like ube and the matcha taste good the strawberry shaved ice wasn't good it didnt taste like anything so I actually had to toss it out. The shop is very small I think there was 2 seats inside and two tables outside.

In passage during my professional duties, on a humid muggy September afternoon in hopes of a cool down summons Matcha ice cream. Soft serve is not my preference ice cream type, but occasionally I have a open mind and willing to give it the o' college try. I believe having an open heart and an open mind enables an approachable life with a willing, non-judgmental, and empathetic attitude. Customer service is average. There are two (2) kiosk machines for customers to enter orders. Their register does NOT provide any sales receipt. The only option is SMS text which I entered my phone number, but did not receive a text. Total dispirited! Total dismay! (I did checked my phone's spam/block numbers and still no text for a receipt!) Hell no, I would surely not return. At least Square registers provide two options either email or SMS text and I always receive it via email. Obtaining a sales receipt is my keepsake which also enable to write my review. I understand progress and evolution with technology but the world still continue to use paper. This Matcha business, Matcha Cafe Maiko is minuscule size where a line of customers can easily crowd the ordering area. There are absolutely no seating and no counter window ledge as it is designed for take-out and on-the-go. Napkins with the business names printed are abundant. There is a cute Hello Kitty plush toy dressed in Japanese kimono of cherry blossom and Matcha in true Japanese culture. I have a strong predilection for traditional ice cream mainly I prefer the rich custard textured base that I have grown very accustomed. Soft serve ice cream quickly melts faster and becomes very a sweet, milky liquid substance. I usually take my time for dolce far niente, Italian for "sweet doing nothing" unhurried moments enjoyed without guilt, urgency or taking pleasure in simply being. Soft serve ice cream melts fast due to the amount of air churned into during freezing. Adding more air means faster melting. It usually melted into my hands overspilling from the cup leaving a sticky residue. Soft serve is lighter, warmer, and contains less fat than traditional hard ice cream. I decided one small cup of Matcha ice cream which is an high extortionate priced $9.80. Oh! The ice cream was good quality and I actually do taste the Matcha. I always enjoy Matcha. It was piled somewhat high and there was no frivolous hole in the center to be duped as a victim of deception in particular with this high extortionate price $9.80. I did not choose any toppings. The female server inquired if I want a smaller cup size or regular size stating it is the same price. I choose the large cup size. It surely melted entirely during my return to my professional duties becoming room temperature green liquid substance. This place was packed when I got there. Many young people standing there and sitting down on tables outside of the place. It is a very tiny shop and you need to sit outside. There are 2 self serve kiosks to place your order and the staff is very busy behind the counter. I love the floor a lot! The floor has small green tiles and MATCHA is written on the middle of the floor! So cute! I saw that lavender was a new flavor that just came out and only for a limited time so I decided to go for the lavender soft serve in a cone and it was so good. Too bad the staff asked if I wanted it with another flavor and I decided to get it with matcha. After receiving it, I saw that there was too much matcha and not enough lavender. The lavender was sitting on the top and it tasted so good! I love it so much more than the matcha. The matcha however consumed and took over the cone. Cone was soft and fresh and easy to bite it. I also got an iced matcha latte and it was separating the whole I was carrying it in the bag. The milk and matcha couldn't mix it until I used a straw. Tasted really good and nice strong matcha aroma flavor! read more

Super yummy shaved ice! Matcha is a great flavor in this but also I think customers would enjoy more condensed milk inside the dessert! The toppings were great and the shop is super photo friendly and cute! read more

Matcha Maiko is probably my favorite matcha spot of all time. I've been to the SoCal locations, but they don't get the cool flavors that other locations get, so I was stoked to try out some menu items I typically wouldn't be able to get back in SoCal. (Nov 2025) I got the peach oolong soft serve and the black sesame latte. The soft serve was light in flavor but actually tasted like real white peaches, and not like the super artificial American peach flavor. The black sesame latte was nutty and smooth, but it wasn't mindblowing. The staff was friendly and the drinks came out pretty fast too. The place shares an entrance with Kyuramen and was pretty small, but there were tables outside to sit at to enjoy these yummy desserts. read more

Personally, I would've liked it just a bit sweeter, but my husband thought it was perfect as-is, so if you're into that bold, earthy matcha flavor, this is the spot for you. The shop itself is tiny -- more of a grab-and-go kind of vibe. It gets crowded fast and there's no real seating, so don't expect to hang out inside or outside as there's just 2 benches outside, no tables. That said, the service was quick, and the quality of the soft serve makes it worth the stop if you're in the area and if you are a latte fan, my friend said hers was fantastic! We tried the mango sticky rice soft serve the Matcha soft serve, and the Matcha Ube mix soft serve at first the twist didn't have a lot of Ube and the worker brought us a full cup of Ube to reconcile for that and we didn't even ask for it 10 out of 10 service. read more

This is a very tiny place where you can order sweet treats! Ordered the limited-time sakura soft-serve. It was kind of pricey (around 9 to 10 dollars) but the portion they gave me was big, so I guess that compensates for it. It took me a while to eat all of it because of that. The sakura flavoring was strong and prominent, which I quite liked. But I do feel that the soft serve had a bit more of the "ice" than the "cream", rather than a balance between the two. Sometimes as I was eating, it reminded me more of sherbet rather than ice cream. Regardless, I still really liked the Sakura soft-serve and establishment! read more
My husband and I stopped by here for matcha ice cream after dinner. I love mattress is super excited to try this place. They have a lot of variety, between featured matcha tease soft skirt ice cream and Cones or cups and options to mix and lavender and ube. Everything I've tried from here has been delicious. Most recently I got the Ube/matcha soft serve which is a huge portion and so delicious. It wasn't overly sweet and the flavors blended well together. I also tried my friend's jasmine/muscat grape soft serve. The jasmine was delicious and would definitely get that alone next time although my friend loved both. Can't wait to come back to try more of their menu read more
I've passed this place so many times and finally got a chance to try it. The matcha soft serve lives up to its reputation. I wished there was more seating at the Bowery location but it's really just a small storefront in front of Kyuramen. It was windy the day I went and I wasn't looking forward to my hair having a taste of my soft serve. The girl working in the front was quick but looked like she didn't want to be there. I guess it doesn't matter much since most people just purchase and leave with their dessert. I got the Maiko special which was a parfait of matcha soft serve on top of azuki beans, corn flakes, aiyu jelly, green tea chiffon cake, and mochi. The matcha soft serve is a burst of concentrated matcha flavor and isn't too sweet. I liked the contrasting textures of the corn flakes and the pleasantly chewy mochi balls. I can see myself coming back for the matcha soft serve and I would probably try the hojicha soft serve next time too. read more
Literally phenomenal ice creams whenever I come here. Their soft serve is unbeatable. I also tried their take home pints so so worth the prices as well. They have the most unique flavors at great prices, the ultimate sweet treat to treat yourself. Surprisingly their matcha is not my favorite, it's usually the specialty flavors they have that I enjoyed the most. Their drinks also didn't stand out much to me just the ice creams but they are so worth it. Just beware there is little to no sitting area so expect to stand and eat read more

I was meeting up with friends nearby and Matcha Cafe Maiko happened to be around the corner, so I decided to drop by and get a soft serve. The mango soft serve was the limited flavor of the month, so I had ordered the soft serve in a cup instead of a cone. The spot is still a small storefront right next to the Kyuramen ramen shop. What's different, there're several benches for customers to sit down and enjoy the desserts. I thought that's a smart, thoughtful move on MCM's end. Fast service from friendly staff. Accepted forms of payment are cash and credit/debit card. I had started eating the ice cream on the side from bottom to top and noticed that there wasn't a huge gap in the middle like how it was a year ago. So rather this time since there wasn't a huge gap, I think I'd gotten a lot more ice cream compared to last time. The mango flavor was also very noticeable, refreshing, and delicious. I would totally get this mango flavor again next time and I hope to see the mango flavor will stay for another month or two. ~ Until next time! ~ read more

Amazing matcha!!! It's a very small shop and it gets crowded especially on warm days. But there are 3 ways to order (large terminal on the right, small screen at the front, or directly with the cashier). And they will call out your name/order # when it's ready. The presentation of each dessert is beautiful and the preparation isn't that slow. The Maiko Special was soooo good! My favorite part was the cornflakes at the bottom. But I could've done without the jellys (just my personal preference though). It was also a lot so I wish I would've shared it with someone. It can be expensive but the quality is very good. Definitely a nice treat! read more
Tiny shop inside a ramen restaurant. Fast service and friendly staff. I got the matcha ube swirl soft serve, the strong ube or taro flavor that overpowers the matcha flavor. It is also very melt-y, started to drip within 10s. It can get very messy if you get it in a cone like me. Would like to try the matcha flavor alone since they are known for that. read more

My favorite spot for a sweet treat! The service was quick despite the line and this time I decided to try the new banana parfait treats. I tried the banana pudding parfait (with ube ice cream) and the banana pudding matcha latte. I will say I liked it paired with the matcha latte more since it wasn't as sweet. It's a great spot for socializing or even if you're in a study/working mood too! read more
Stopped by to try the soft serve (got a matcha/ube swirl in a cone) and it was really good. Would try the mango/peach next time (or whatever fruity flavors they have in rotation)! Soft Swerve does a better ube but this place is still worth a stop. read more
The store is located in Bowery next to Kyuramen, there's seating outside on a nice sunny day. Staffs were friendly. Ordered soft serve with their newest limited edition of lavender with Japanese melon swirl on a cup.
