Continuing the hunt for the best matcha, we came across this spot. A friend told me this place has the best matcha products and she brought me over to try. I'm not 100% sure if this is the best I have since I chose one that was out of the ordinary. It was sweeter than normal with fruity boba pearls, even though it was unique, the taste of the combinations blended together perfectly. This is a nice spot because it is inside a market, and the service was exceptionally quick, definitely recommend trying this spot out.
We were craving ice cream near Times square and came across this spot. Half market half cafe so no indoor seating. We got the special matcha vanilla soft serve so it came with a bunch of toppings. A bit pricey ($9.50) but good quality flavor. Not too busy so our order was made right away, can tell the staff was very careful in assembling our order.
ambiance - small. It is a corner spot inside a supermarket. Was expecting more of a cafe like setting. service - it was okay. not much worker since it was 7ish - 8pm. everything was order by kiosk, we waited for approx 5-10 minutes for our order. little to no staff interaction. Food - I expected to be much better, so it was a bit disappointing. But we did got a B1G1 deal, so it was not all bad. Definitely not worth the full price. if you want to try, go when they have the deal.
I saw this place on TikTok and looked them up on Yelp. Reviews were good and I placed on my list to try while in the city. This location is inside the Hashi Market. I ordered the Frozen Matcha Coco. You can clearly see that my drink looks nothing like the one on the menu. That's because I literally have absolutely no matcha in mine. I have a cup of soft serve ice cream and some sort of jelly stuff on the bottom. For me, I didn't care for it and I drank the liquid part of the drink in no time which left a completely full cup of soft serve which I ended up throwing out.
Stopped by with some friends for dessert after dinner. It's a stand inside Hashi supermarket. I got the soft serve served with 1 piece of mochi and green tea Kit Kat. The mochi was somewhat stale/hard and even the Kit Kat tasted like it's been open for some time (stale). The frozen yogurt however was really good. On par with other matcha froyo shops. Service was nearly nonexistent since you order electronically through a pad. Wish there was somewhere to eat it since it was so cold out. We ended up roaming around the aisles as we did.
First disclaimer - Try their matcha offerings if you really like matcha. It is strong and not for people who don't prefer it. We walked in on a Sunday to try their Matcha Affogato - matcha drink with matcha soft serve - and OH MY GOD - we liked it! It was nicely strong, rich, not overly sweet. Definitely different. The only thing we didn't like - it costed about $10 which is extremely steep. There's no seating here so you just have to grab and leave.
Stumbled upon Fujiissa because we were looking for a convenience store to get a beverage and I was surprised to see it situated inside the Hashi market. It offers various matcha desserts and it was perfect for a hot summer day. I ordered their Mont Blanc matcha soft serve. It is a little pricy at almost $10 but that is mostly due to the chestnut paste which is not cheap. The chestnut paste was heavenly. Not too thick in consistency and not overly sweet. It was paired well with the matcha side serve, which was smooth and creamy, but had just the right amount of matcha flavor, not too strong and not too light or watered down. It was quiet when we got there so service was very quick. I would definitely go back if I'm in the area.

The matcha soft serve here is incredible! Super strong matcha flavor which I personally love, but some may find overpowering. I also tried their black sesame, but didn't love that one as much. Stick with the matcha :)
Absolutely delicious black sesame soft serve! As I ate mine in front of the shop, people kept asking me if I had gotten it inside and if it was good. Easy to order at large touchscreen tablet. Quick service and a good-size portion. I want to go back to try all the matcha and Mount-Blanc options! Fujiissa is located inside Hashi Market and is handicapped-accessible.
Finally got a chance to visit this supermarket. This ice cream store is inside Hashi Supermarket. Price-wise is a bit on the high side though you can get a big serving and good quality ingredients. The matcha flavor in this ice cream is very strong and not just green in coloring. It's a thick smooth soft serve. I got the basic and it full me up as a snack. The matcha affogato is matcha shot with matcha ice cream. It tasted better to eat it 15-20 minutes later, let it melt instead of eating it immediately. I brought the item back to back day. It tasted different since the first day I waited a while so the drink melted. Whereas the second day I didn't wait though it melted slowly on the train ride home. Either way, premium ice cream. I didn't try the montblac, will try next time.
There is a machine that takes your order. Currently there is a promotion of getting the second item half price. We ordered the chestnut with matcha ice cream and matcha affogato. The staff keep on smelling the chestnut as if she is questioning if it is safe to eat. She ended up taking out a new piece of chestnut. My appetite and excitement of the chestnut disappeared. At this point I am questioning if it is safe to eat too.
Was really excited to try this. If you like strong, bitter, matcha, this is the place for you. Even the regular matcha was too strong for us. They have a strong matcha option too. This place is stronger than Maiko I think, mostly cuz the drinks & desserts aren't as sweet. 2/5 Blue matcha latte- blue part has no flavor. I think it's just colored milk. Matcha is too bitter, too strong. Definitely mix it before drinking, unless you like it bitter. Also, I recommend being near a bathroom cuz man, that matcha is strong. 2/5 Mont-Blanc matcha soft serve- just as bitter as the latte, we ate 1/4 & had to throw the rest out cuz it was just too strong for us. I don't recommend Mont Blanc anything cuz chestnut puree tastes gross, esp compared to whole chestnuts (boiled or roasted).
Omg. The ice cream was so good. I would totally come back for the soft serve. The cashier was so nice to make half and half for me. This is also a market and I got some made to go sushi. The sushi looked fresh and neatly packed. The prices were avg- not too high. Would come back for quick sushi and ice cream. Market seems clean and quick in and out. read more
Fujissa is a great little stop if you are in the mood for something sweet. I am a big fan of their matcha soft serve. It hits the spot every time. I also like that it is tucked inside a supermarket. It makes it easy to grab a few groceries and then treat yourself on the way out. Simple, convenient, and definitely worth checking out. read more

Ordered soft serve cone at kiosk so there's little interaction with staff. Liked how you could get two flavors but you couldn't choose the two. I got matcha and black sesame in a cone ($8.50 with tax). They don't swirl them; one is on bottom and the other is on top. For this reason I'm not sure why you can't choose the two flavors. I got a black cone because how often can you get a black cone. Aside from the color there was nothing else diffident about it from a "regular" cone. Ice cream was good buy not necessarily somewhere I'd feel the need to go back to read more

Really delicious high quality matcha ice cream located inside the hashimi market. I got the matcha affogato ice cream, the matcha was really strong and powerful which I loved, however the ice cream is on the pricey side. This was almost $10 for a small cup. Workers were really nice and service was fast. read more
Side note, this matcha shop is apparently collaborating with Royce' which is an excellent chocolate shop from Hokkaido with a location pretty close by with the store also selling Royce' products with the nama chocolates costing less but the bars cost more which is different. This is a matcha place inside of the new flagship location of Hashi Market which just opened on December 22nd which also has a location on Greenwich Street as well as in Georgia I believe. You order using the kiosks but they don't appear to have all the options yet so it might be better just order from the people in front. As per always I got a plain matcha. While there is a small on the menu for $6 plus tax, the Chowbus only has the regular size for $7 and the tip is automatically at 18% like the nearby Nama which can be changed. I know a lot of this can be blamed on the fact that it just opened so I'm cutting this new place more slack than usual for the ordering/ChowBus issues. I didn't have to deal with canceling my order so I went with the regular. I didn't get an alert on my phone but I presume it took around 5-10 minutes or so. The matcha quality was decent with a good amount of bitterness but it lacked a bit of their mouthfeel. I have a feeling I would have preferred the small as it would have been less watered down by comparison. It's somewhat similar quality to the nearby Nama though perhaps that one slightly better but I would like to confirm this by ordering the small. While the tea was just fine, the best thing here by a mile was their soft serve. If you have had the soft serve for instance at Maiko among other places and you found those to be too sweet, I would highly recommend this place instead at least for the strong flavor which I sampled. As I mentioned earlier, they are collaborating with Royce' and this honestly tasted like the Nama Matcha flavor turned into a ridiculously good soft serve with a good amount of bitterness but not too so and the luscious milky flavor as per the Nama truffles. In short, this was outstanding. The price appears to be $7.80 which would honestly be worth it for the quality as it's that much better than all the other places. You can also get toppings with the special looking really similar to Maiko. Mid/upper 4 for the soft serve. Mid/low 3 for the tea. read more
The cashier was polite and patient explaining the difference between the two ice choice choices; he customized my ice cream removing red beans at my request. Great customer service! The storefront looks clean. Had the seasonal special matcha ice cream with white and green mochi, green tea jelly and granola. The green tea jello tasted great! The white mochi was a bit too hard and needs to be cooked longer. Sadly, the rich match flavored ice cream was too sweet compared to the one I had in Japan; I had to drink lots of water afterwards. It makes sense that they added more sugar to accommodate to Americans' taste buds. I might come back for other flavors. read more

Ok the soft serve IS good- icecream is rich and thick. The matcha has 2 flavors (not that it's noted when you order BTW) - there is regular and there is stronger matcha. Flavor is not too sweet, a good matcha icecream. The cone was good too. Icecream came out very fast. You can ask for a spoon too. I ordered the Royce limited in the waffle cone. You do get the red bean, the granola, and the icecream. You get the wafer cookie (it's just ok). The chocolate was NOT matcha chocolate. There is no edible gold leaf. For over $13, I felt like I should get exactly what I was promised. I think if it didn't say all that, I would've felt just fine since it did taste good. read more
On my way back to the office, stumbled upon this Japanese deli after seeing a huge matcha ice cream statue outside. Originally planned to get a matcha ice cream but saw that they had black sesame which I prefer over matcha. Ended up getting a black sesame soft serve on a black cone. It was delicious! The black sesame flavor wasn't overbearing and tasted more like vanilla ice cream which I didn't mind. The black cone was crispy and tasty. The place was very clean and the staffs were friendly. Will definitely be back to check out the entire place. read more

Fujiissa is located on 5th avenue next to Koreatown. Ordered the famous Fujissa montblanc soft ice cream.The soft serve itself is incredibly smooth and creamy, with just the right amount of sweetness. What sets it apart, however, is the topping a signature Montblanc swirl that adds both texture and an extra layer of flavor. The soft serve has a rich, slightly nutty taste, which blends harmoniously with the Montblanc element, making it an irresistible treat, especially hand pressed. The portion size is generous, and it's the kind of dessert you'll savor down to the last bite. Also ordered the matcha cold foam with red bean which is equally delicious. The matcha flavor was vibrant and well balanced. The cold foam was light and airy, adding a smoothness that complemented the matcha base. The addition of red bean provided a nice contrast, with its subtle sweetness and chewy texture. It was a refreshing treat. Amazing service from Karen. She was incredibly attentive and friendly. She made recommendations with a warm smile and amazing service. Definitely recommend! read more
