I've tasted a lot of cream puffs around NYC, but Alimama Tea wins for their perfect choux and flavor lineup. Their cream puffs were huge irl, and the custard-to-choux pastry ratio was done right. ＊Cream Puff $4.50 - 5.50 I couldn't stop munching on the yuzu one, so tart and refreshing with a yuzu curd filling. The boba flavor was not too sweet and packed with mini boba. Matcha was the winner (as always). ＊Mochi Donut $4.50 - 5.50 The roasted black sesame glaze was rich, nutty, and pleasantly grainy. It reminded me of chinese black sesame paste dessert which I loved. What surprised me most was the strawberry flavor. It didn't taste artificial at all, unlike the ones I've had at other donut spots. The brulee donut was coated in a caramelized sugar glaze that left a gold shimmer on my lips. Their mochi donuts had a dense yet chewy texture. ＊Hokkaido Custard Mini Cream Puff $1 each (min. 6 pcs) Despite their small size, they didn't skimp on the filling! Each one was packed with luscious, creamy custard made from Hokkaido milk, all wrapped in a crispy shell. ＊Lychee Rose $7 While I had higher expectations for their sweets, this lychee rose drink actually blew me away! I love their cream puffs! I always get the Milk Tea cream puffs :) I tried their limited edition Rose Reserve Milk Tea with mini boba and it was so good!! My boyfriend always gets the matcha cream puffs, and we decided to try their hokkaido one as well! He also got a turmeric ginger honey tea. Everything was delicious. Super cute spot with tasty and aesthetic drinks. I tried the royal milk tea, which was beautifully presented and had a strong tea flavor. I was pleasantly surprised by how bold the tea taste was, and it was also rich and creamy. I ordered it less sweet with no ice, which was the perfect balance. Service was fast and friendly. Alimama is located in Chinatown and is a well known spot. When I first visited Alimama many years ago, I was surprised that I never went there before. The many times I went there, the flavors and quality of the desserts were consistent. My go-to order is the Taro Munchkins and the Boba Cream Puff. The Taro Munchkins were so delicious. Make sure to eat them when it comes out because that's when it will taste the best. If you want to heat it up again you can pop it into the air fryer. Their Boba Cream Puff is also excellent. The cream is sweet and the boba gives it a nice chewy texture. I would like to try the other cream puffs when I visit again. Every time I come here, there was usually a line so plan accordingly. There is seating inside but I had to wait for someone to leave as it can get crowded. Staff is friendly as well. read more

Sometimes I get lucky and the mochi donuts are still warm, with a lightness and chewiness that is so satisfying. If you let the donuts cool off, they're denser but still delicious. I've tried all the donut flavors and there hasn't been one that I don't like. This time around, I got the onyx (which has a rich caramel dark chocolate frosting on the donut) and the yuzu detox lemonade (comes with yuzu purée with butterfly pea flower) The donut was sooo good. The lemonade had a beautiful presentation and was not sweet at all, but next time I think I'll stick to one of the milk tea drinks I usually get from there. I love boba, so I searched for nearby tea spots and found this place--it had good reviews and was just around the corner. I ordered a classic jasmine tea with boba, no sugar--just the way I like it. The presentation was really nice, and the boba had a good texture. However, the tea itself was a bit more bitter than I expected. I usually get zero sweetness, and it's just a light, refreshing jasmine flavor, but this one tasted slightly over-brewed. That was the only downside for me. If I lived in the area, I'd probably come back once in a while for the boba. But honestly, what really caught my attention were their donuts and food items--I don't remember the exact names, but they looked amazing, especially the one with boba inside. I haven't been here in years, and the matcha donut was still so good with the chewy texture and the crunchy toasted rice cracker contrasting it. My niece and I also decided to try their passion fruit green tea though since the drinks looked so cute, and my sister got the yuzu detox lemonade. My sister liked her drink, but my niece and I didn't like our drinks. We love the mochi donuts and all the assortment of flavors that they offer. This time we got the strawberry, brûlée and the cereal mochi donuts. Off the 3, the brûlée was our fave. Even better than those though were the mochi donut munchkins. We got the chocolate and the taro ones and even though I absolutely love chocolate, the taro one took the prize and was so worth the wait that it took them to make fresh on the spot. Cute little spot in Chinatown! A great place for mochi donuts and tea/coffee on the go. We tried the Matcha Munchkins, they took a few minutes to be ready but OMG they were worth the wait. They were warm, soft, and melted in your mouth. Highly recommend trying the munchkins. They had a nice selection of Mochi Donuts and Cream Puffs. The black sesame, matcha, brûlée mochi donuts were all so delicious! I just wish they had a better packing method when you order treats, putting a single donut in it's own box doesn't seem to be good use of space because now you're carrying around a bunch of to go boxes. I had to consolidate myself, just seems wasteful. They offer a lot of different cold and hot drinks including: teas, cold brew, mini boba, and coffee. They looked tasty and colorful. Despite being a small store, Alimama Tea has some of the most unique drinks and desserts I've tried! The store itself is a little small but super cozy, and they have multiple kiosks to order from. The staff is also super sweet and get your food out really fast - the wait time has been really short every time I visit. Their mochi donuts were divine -- the texture was delicious and very consistent, but the flavors of the donut themselves were pretty hit or miss (I really liked the cereal donut). However their drinks are absolutely delicious, especially their milk teas! If you like boba, you definitely need to try those out. Their boba cream puff is next on my list to try.
