The I come by this spot anytime I'm in Chinatown, which is quite a lot. I am a fan of their mochi munchkins and creampuffs. The kiosk to order the food on is very fast and there's usually not a long line. I like the fact that Alimama is also on Ubereats, so that it's easier to order for delivery and/or pickup. The royal milk tea is another one of my favorites. It's not overly sweet but is still somewhat rich in flavor. They have unique edible gold flakes and flowers on top of their drinks. I've ordered from Alimama for delivery several times, and have gotten the mochi donuts, cream puffs, and various drinks. Sometimes I get lucky and the mochi donuts are still warm, with a lightness and chewiness that is so satisfying. If you let the donuts cool off, they're denser but still delicious. I've tried all the donut flavors and there hasn't been one that I don't like. This time around, I got the onyx (which has a rich caramel dark chocolate frosting on the donut) and the yuzu detox lemonade (comes with yuzu purée with butterfly pea flower) The donut was sooo good. The lemonade had a beautiful presentation and was not sweet at all, but next time I think I'll stick to one of the milk tea drinks I usually get from there. Alimama is located in Chinatown and is a well known spot. When I first visited Alimama many years ago, I was surprised that I never went there before. The many times I went there, the flavors and quality of the desserts were consistent. My go-to order is the Taro Munchkins and the Boba Cream Puff. The Taro Munchkins were so delicious. Make sure to eat them when it comes out because that's when it will taste the best. If you want to heat it up again you can pop it into the air fryer. Their Boba Cream Puff is also excellent. The cream is sweet and the boba gives it a nice chewy texture. I would like to try the other cream puffs when I visit again. Every time I come here, there was usually a line so plan accordingly. I love boba, so I searched for nearby tea spots and found this place--it had good reviews and was just around the corner. I ordered a classic jasmine tea with boba, no sugar--just the way I like it. The presentation was really nice, and the boba had a good texture. However, the tea itself was a bit more bitter than I expected. I usually get zero sweetness, and it's just a light, refreshing jasmine flavor, but this one tasted slightly over-brewed. That was the only downside for me. If I lived in the area, I'd probably come back once in a while for the boba. I haven't been here in years, and the matcha donut was still so good with the chewy texture and the crunchy toasted rice cracker contrasting it. My niece and I also decided to try their passion fruit green tea though since the drinks looked so cute, and my sister got the yuzu detox lemonade. My sister liked her drink, but my niece and I didn't like our drinks. This place came highly recommended by my bestie. Ordered a box of 6 different flavored cream puffs and Lychee Rose to go (this place is meant for takeouts since I didn't see tables/chairs). It took us a while to finish the box (have to control that calories - I've made cream puffs at home and I have an idea of how much sugar it can contain!). Our fave was the matcha and coffee creams. Cute little spot in Chinatown! A great place for mochi donuts and tea/coffee on the go. We tried the Matcha Munchkins, they took a few minutes to be ready but OMG they were worth the wait. They were warm, soft, and melted in your mouth. Highly recommend trying the munchkins. They had a nice selection of Mochi Donuts and Cream Puffs. The black sesame, matcha, brûlée mochi donuts were all so delicious! I just wish they had a better packing method when you order treats, putting a single donut in it's own box doesn't seem to be good use of space because now you're carrying around a bunch of to go boxes. The staff is also super sweet and get your food out really fast - the wait time has been really short every time I visit. Alimama Tea was one of my favorite stops on our recent vacation to NYC! If I had had time to return a 2nd time during our short trip, I definitely would have. Alimama serves a variety of mochi nuts, cream puffs, and both cold and hot drinks. Ordering is self-service at electronic kiosks situated along the walls. There is no indoor seating, but there is covered outdoor seating just across from the storefront. The wait was not long considering our order was big! We ordered matcha munchkins; a yuzu cream puff; a matcha cream puff; several kinds of mochi nuts including the black sesame, strawberry, crème brûlée, onyx, cereal, and matcha; and two cold drinks - White Peach Sencha with Aiyu and the Lychee Rose. The matcha munchkins are best enjoyed immediately after served because they are warm! All of the mochi nuts were delicious, but my personal favorites were the cereal and onyx (dark chocolate). The Lychee Rose iced drink was delicious and very refreshing. However, what really stole the show was the yuzu cream puff - WOW! The cream was silky and delicious with a sweet, citrus twang while the pastry was flaky and fluffy.
