Pastry case Oct 29th, 2025 - A bakery display case contains croissants, banana bread, and other baked goods, with labels for each item. The case is made of glass and metal.

Went to Smor Bakery to pick up some food close to our Airbnb before flying out of JFK yesterday morning (around 9:20AM on a Wed). While walking over, a lady on the corner told us that the bakery was really good. There were a few customers already sitting inside and some in line waiting to order. Everything in the pastry case looked enticing, and I would have ordered more if I didn't have any self control. We got a sausage egg & cheese sandwich, a savory scone, and a cardamom bun to go. The interior is cute and seems like a nice place to work/study or enjoy a nice drink and pastry. We didn't eat any of the food until we were on the plane, but everything was delicious! The sandwich was hearty and well-flavored, and the bun tasted fresh and made from scratch. The savory scone was moist and scallion and cheese flavored, and the lightly sweet cardamom bun was the perfect pairing with tea/coffee. Highly recommend Smor Bakery and only wish we had found it sooner during our brief stay in Brooklyn.

My friend and I went here for brunch on a Sunday morning around 10:30am. There are a few tables inside and we managed to get a seat. I ordered the smoked trout breakfast plate, which was soft scrambled eggs with smoked trout mixed in and served with a slice of sourdough. My friend ordered the breakfast burrito, which was filled with cheesy eggs, potatoes, bacon, scallions, and avocado, and served with a side of chipotle mayo. I also had a cold brew. The food was delicious and the portions were quite generous. I really loved this spot and will definitely be coming back to try the pastries. All the staff were so nice, too.

Smor bakery is a great addition to the neighborhood that is serving up Nordic style breakfast, pastries, and drinks. Me & my friend shared the cheesy eggs ($12) with added avocado ($4), cardamom bun ($4.75) and tiramisu donut ($5, rotating flavor). The food was delicious and thank god they have green hot sauce, it was a welcome addition to the eggs. Tables are a bit too tiny to have a full spread but the space is cute and spacious. They have a small pantry with tinned fish, olive oil, licorice, etc that you can purchase alongside your baked goods/food. Also, it is laptop friendly and they have outdoor seating!

BREAKFAST BURRITO - A partially eaten breakfast burrito wrapped in green paper is inside a brown takeout box, accompanied by a small container of sauce.

Definitely recommend the cardamom bun. Fantastic flavor and moist dough - very fresh pastries. The staff was friendly!

THE BEST SCALLION PANCAKES YOU'LL HAVE! Seriously so good I could eat 50 of them. Got the one with…read moreeggs and bacon inside (bec) and the sauce it came with was so good. On top of that the pastries were to die for. Would love to come back here for the burgers that they have after 3pm. It gets busy in the mornings especially on the weekends but we weren't waiting toooo long for the food. Friendly service!

A Taiwanese fusion bakery with an eponymous restaurant across the street, Win Son's staff aren't…read moreTaiwanese but its founders are. It's got both sweet and savory foods, and is mostly known for its pastries. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating, and the food is brought to your table. We ordered the pork fan tuan (rice roll), soymilk + yao tiao (fried donut), scallion pancake, and snow pea leaves for our savory portion, and the mochi donut, banana tart, and chocolate bolo bao (pineapple bun) for dessert. The pancakes and mochi donut are must-gets, but my sleeper pick would be the simple yet refreshing snow pea shoots. Having just returned from Taiwan myself, I thought the soymilk tasted fresh and authentic, but the fan tuan was so-so (too dense and missing the pickles). I'd also pass on the chocolate bun, although if you like pain au chocolat, it tastes similar. I definitely need to come back for their red date cakes and peanut butter croissant (sold out when we arrived but they're regular menu items). Thankfully, there's a Win Son location in Manhattan as well so I won't need to travel to Brooklyn every time. Still, I'd make the trek out here again!
