This is a restaurant that has ZERO concept of hospitality. Like absolutely zero. It's like, if you want to be treated like crap as a paying guest, this is the place to go. 4 members of our party of 7 arrived 10 minutes early. They were permitted to sit at the bar (the bar is for reservation holders ONLY). 5 minutes later, members 5 and 6 arrived. They would not seat us at our table until the 7th member of the party arrived. Patently absurd. Our server, Michael, was nice enough, explaining to us how to order family style from the menu. Personally I found it a bit patronizing but that's probably just me. Drinks service was noticeably slow (this is important to note for later in this review). The food was fine/delicious - only the Char Siu pork, garlic eggplant and Beef Chow Fun were decent portions for family style dining - and the Char Siu was room temp. Here's where things got wild (especially in light of the slow drinks service) - WHILE WE WERE STILL EATING OUR FOOD our server Michael sidles up to the table - I'm on the end, and he's standing next to me. He announces that our reservation only has 15 minutes left in it - they expect us to finish eating and drinking within the next 15 minutes!?!?!? He follows this up with an offer to wrap up our food to go. ... I'm the only person who actually hears him say all this in the noisy restaurant so it falls on me to communicate to my table mates what our server just said. ... So, 15 minutes later he shows up to take our money - he'll only split the bill into two even though we're 3 couples and one singleton. They AUTOMATICALLY tack on a 20% tip and yet the machine offers you the opportunity to tip even more. The food was nothing to write home about and no one needs the militant attitude when spending hundreds of dollars dining out with friends. I humbly suggest you GO ANY PLACE ELSE for your fine dining experience - this place does not deserve to stay in business another day longer. Oh - and as others have noted- THERE ARE NO DESSERTS HERE. Don't come here for a birthday or any kind of celebration where you'd usually have a dessert.

We stopped by spontaneously on Halloween night, a Saturday, and were surprised to find the restaurant barely one-third full. Interestingly, the online reservation system indicated that reservations were required with a $10 deposit, but we decided to take our chances and were seated at a table next to the bar. From the outset, the service was disorganized. We were given a small bites menu but no drink menu. After waiting approximately 20 minutes, I eventually had to approach the bar myself to request one. A female staff member wearing a red corset eventually brought it over. I immediately told her we were ready to order, only for her to look directly at me and walk away. She never returned to take our order or check on us. Her only subsequent interaction with our table was toward the end of the evening, when she casually asked if we needed anything. Thankfully, another server, Sal, eventually stepped in. Sal apologized for the delay after we explained that we were hungry and ready to order. He offered complimentary shots as a gesture of goodwill, which sounded reasonable. However, they never arrived. I reminded him, and he promised to bring them shortly, yet once again disappeared without following through. We even had to get someone's attention to request something as basic as water. More concerning was the general demeanor of the serving staff. Several interactions felt unusually disjointed, distracted, and incoherent. Sal's conduct in particular raised questions about whether he was in an appropriate condition to be serving guests. I cannot speak to what was happening behind the scenes, but the overall impression was deeply unprofessional. The final disappointment involved my cousin's birthday dessert. We had ordered a chocolate lava cake and, after an excessive wait, had to flag Sal down to ask about it. His response was essentially, "Oh, you want it now?" Yes, after waiting that long, we certainly did. Eventually, someone from our group approached him to say we would rather close out. Suddenly, the cake was ready. We explicitly asked him to cancel it, and he agreed to remove it from the bill. Despite that, he brought it to our table anyway, and the dessert subsequently appeared on our bill again. Having to dispute a charge for something we had specifically asked to cancel was an especially frustrating way to end the evening. What makes this experience particularly disappointing is that I know Lighthouse Rooftop is capable of much better. I've experienced it firsthand. The views and atmosphere initially made me excited to return, but a beautiful setting can only carry an establishment so far. Hospitality, attentiveness, and professionalism are what ultimately earn customer loyalty. I also want to emphasize that repeat customers and word-of-mouth recommendations carry real value. I regularly recommend restaurants and venues within my personal network, and I also consider establishments for professional gatherings and corporate events. My first visit genuinely put Lighthouse Rooftop on that list. After this experience, I would hesitate to recommend it, let alone bring professional groups here. It's unfortunate because this was an opportunity to turn an impressed first-time guest into a loyal returning customer and a source of future business.
