Moved away from this recently but had to pick up a package because I mailed it to the wrong address :( Soooo while I was in the area I decided to stop by Momo and grab early dinner, and I'm super glad I did. I went on a Wednesday around 4pm so it was not busy at all. I was able to grab a table of 4 to myself where I hung out and read after eating. It felt comfortable and not too close to others unless you are right by the door. For food, I ordered 1 order of spicy bombs and the mentaiko udon. I was a bit hesitant at first about the udon since it's a warm dish which didn't sound good for the summer, but after some thought and encouragement from the waiter I decided to go for it and also add extra ikura. The waiter mentioned you can add other items as well. Either way it was delicious!! If you like mentaiko or ikura, the udon is for you! Overall I definitely enjoyed eating here alone or with friends. I'm happy their food is delicious and people can still support them!

Great quality sushi and a cool relaxed vibe. I loved their take on miso soup with added veggies to make it heartier. It was fun trying their sushi bombs with the crunchy texture. I think they excel in their hand rolls so don't leave without trying these delights!

One of my favorite sushi places in Brooklyn. The place is very small and cozy inside, but I'm ordering pick up. All the time that I've been there the staff was friendly and sushi were fresh. My favorite is party bomb and salmon guacamole. The only thing is the way to get there sometimes isn't that good if you're walking from Williamsburg.

Nice service, interesting layout of the place, and ok food. Waitress was lovely and very attentive. The layout was cool since it's 3 large picnic tables to share with others - cool concept for having dinner with a laaaarge group. The bombs (right of pic) were very good in my opinion. The sushi was also good but I prefer the bombs better. Will def come back if i ever wasn't to go out for a quick bite.

It's a good random pick in Brooklyn. Hipster cool that turned out satisfying despite its obvious departure from traditional Japanese. Standouts are the karaage, pork belly and the artsy looking gyoza. The green tea is very rich and good. Momo Sushi Shack, Bushwick, Brooklyn

I've been here twice now, and the two things I suggest the most would be to dine in and to order the sushi bombs. I went a few months back in search of a go-to, affordable sushi spot and was feeling hopeful. Though not traditional, the sushi bombs were fun and added a bit of flavor with each "topping" of the fish. The most recent time, I ordered to very friendly phone service! I got the una ten and philli rolls, excited to sample their vegan cream cheese. I'm not a huge fan of fusion sushi and their maki came off as that. The takeout wasn't as fresh and delicious, and the fish was a bit skimpy on the maki. The portion was disappointing at 6 pieces per roll, which explains the good price. Overall, it's a cute spot but I think I'll shop around for the best value sushi.

Not sure why Momo has so many high reviews, the food was average at best. Uni Pasta: Good, but after a few bites extremely heavy and unbearable to finish it. Sushi: Not super fresh or high quality. Chicken Karage: The exterior was a bit too crunchy. I've had chicken karage at some places that was more moist and juicy.

The atmosphere here is a bit dim but the overall experience is amazing. They didn't have any name at the entrance so had a hard time conforming the location. We tried sushi Bomb, hand-rolls, sushi and sake. The portion size is small so you need to order multiple entree. The price here is pretty reasonable so you will be fine even with two entree. SAKE WAS AMAZING!! I was with a few friends and it was a great location to eat, drink and laugh.

I found this sushi spot courtesy of Yelp, and decided to make good use of my first weekend in Brooklyn to check it out! It was a little pricey, which is my only gripe. Our bill was $34 without tip and I felt like my appetite had barely been satiated, however, I cannot deny that the food was good. We ordered the Party Bomb plate, which is an assortment of sushi bombs, and also their gyoza. The sushi bombs are bite-sized, and even though the plate comes with 12 pieces total, it really is not that much. My favorite of the four types of bombs was the Spicy Mc Bomb. The kataifi went really well with the rest of the ingredients and was an added pop of sweetness and crunchiness that I really enjoyed! My least favorite was the Mc Low Bomb (the other tuna bomb), which was just too fishy for me. Also *SPOILER ALERT*, their special sauces are really just soy sauce with different amounts of wasabi mixed in. The awesome upcycled measuring spoon ladles led me to believe that the sauces were actually something unique...I was disappointed. I actually enjoyed the gyoza more than I enjoyed the sushi bombs, and I am so glad that the server recommended them. The gyoza were perfectly pan fried - crispy on the bottom but soft and chewy on the top. The filling was delicious, and it was served with both ponzu sauce and chili oil. I would definitely order this if I visit again. I found the restaurant a little too dark for dining - I could barely see three feet in front of my face. However, they keep it tidy, and I appreciated that they kept the restaurant quite toasty for a cold winter day.

Interesting ambiance at this restaurant - it is very dark and has two very long tables with attached bench to eat cafeteria/community style. We had a dinner reservation through open table and were able to secure a "prime" end portion of the long table. Service was very kind and welcoming. All the sushi that I tried was delicious - for dinner prices, they were good... and apparently they have lunch specials 7 days a week?? NICE! Was very impressed with the sushi, hot foods were good but prob won't be my focus next time. Prices were super reasonable for dinner, and would be a total steal for lunch!

Good spot for well prepared sushi in east Williamsburg it's right across from Syndicated so this could be part 1 of a dinner/movie combo. Pro Tip: They somehow manage to make communal seating intimate but get there early if you want a seat at either end of the benches.

    Interior. Very Bushwick.

The menu is pretty diverse with various appetizers, sushi, and also ramen/curry so your standard izakaya fare. One of my favorite dishes here has been the chirashi. The fish was very fresh and it's pretty affordable. It's been open for a few years, so clearly it has a good enough formula to keep the neighborhood happy. I have been here once before, but returned last week after dining several meals at Tomoni in Jackson Heights. Apparently, the owners are friends. Nonetheless, I needed to make the comparison. After my first few bites of their Tora Don and Chirashi Don, it was clear that this restaurant has the better quality seafood. Each slice of sashimi had vibrant colors, clean taste, and the proper texture. Tomoni is not bad, but fall slightly short of this caliber. With that said, there is an even farther gap between their rice quality. Though Tora is very good, Tomoni produces nearly perfect texture and acidity for my taste buds. Other than the best omakase restaurants in NYC, Tomoni shines as one of the best versions of sushi rice in the five boroughs. Service is good and space is cute. If I have a craving for some decent Japanese food, I would drive 20 minutes here for a meal anytime.

We lucked out and were seated immediately and didn't wait long for our food. The server kept refilling our water glasses which was much appreciated. Also one of the BEST broths I have had in New York. It is comparable to some in Japan with how good that beef broth is. The chicken broth is excellent as well and worked since my friend has a dietary restriction. Sadly could not try the karaage since they sold out! Get it if you can. Food (5/5): probably some of the best ramen you can get in Brooklyn! You take a sip and it has so much rich flavor you can tell they took a long time to cook it. Just the right amount of salt that leads to explosive umami flavor with everything else included. Only downside is that the egg is an additional 2-3 dollars boosting the ramen price to 20 per bowl. Other than that, it's a great bowl of ramen I will be going again. I heard the steak was good from my friends but we got the okanomiyaki, it's pretty big, delicious, but only get it if you are a large fan of them. It's pretty pricey for what it is. Cucumber salad was delicious and fresh, nice hit of spiciness. Service (4.5/5): The person helping us is super nice, though there is a language barrier and that might cause some misunderstandings. I only brought it down half a point because you aren't going to get that understanding but they are very nice and try their best. Nothing wrong but it does get busy and you might have to call them for refills or other issues. The chefs are also very friendly. Cleanliness and interior (5/5): you can tell it's rather small, but modern and chic. Great for a night out to eat as they are open late. Great casual dinner spot and has a fantastic Lofi jazzy playlist that adds to it. Combined with the unforgettable beef broth, and you have a night to remember. J's Parking Advice- it's pretty packed at night because there is a lot to do around. Parking garages are a little far off too but everything is walkable once you find a spot. There is a street parking but it's hard to find, you might have to park far and walk there or public transport. We did take around 10-20 mins to find parking. So good luck! Overall: it's a spot I have to go back to especially since they sold out of the karaage! If that doesn't tell you how good it is not sure what else! Definitely a local favorite and a hidden gem
