I came here based on some of the reviews, and since I was in the area. This place doesn't have a restroom. Quick place to dine in or take out food. I decided to order the viet sandwich (bahn mi) and the beef pho. Both were good, but nothing amazing. I wonder how it will taste if they were eaten at the place. I'm not sure I would like to go back as there are so many other places to try in Williamsburg.

Ordered Delivery So Pho 88 from a meal delivery perspective has been a "Pho"-bulous (fabulous) delight. Focusing on Vietnamese cuisine, So Pho 88 executes well on their Banh Mis and Phos with good quality and consistency, a big recommendation for those ordering via delivery apps. Taste: 5/5 Service: N/A Value for money: 5/5 Ambience: N/A The goto item here is their beef pho for $13.95, the Thai iced tea is $3.50 which is a steal for restaurant pricing especially on delivery apps. Food is on point and the only hiccup is that if the delivery takes too long, might need to heat up the soup more for the meat to fully cook through.

Found this small hidden gem among a street of many places to eat and I'm so glad I chose it! I ordered a grilled chicken pho which was very flavorful, a huge portion & a great price of ~$13! There was limited seating but I enjoyed my soup there. The employee that I interacted with was nice. I truly loved this meal and would definitely go back if I'm in the area.

The Vietnamese food options in Williamsburg have been so bad and I feel like I keep getting disappointed no matter how authentic a place might appear. The spring rolls here had a crappy veggie filling reminiscent of what you get in fake Chinese egg rolls. The bbq meat was spongy and not pleasant at all and the pho just wasn't all that impressive.

Cozy place family business they're super friendly & laid back. I've read some negative views, I think there's 2 women by the cashier. I've never met another one. When I go there she's always sweet and calm I feel very comfortable eat in! Food (pho) comes out Quit Quickly (less than 10min) and large bowl, very clean dishes +++ it's very tasty! I wouldn't think of trying another place at all. I'm so happy going there all the time. They let bathroom next door.

Disclaimer: Ordered on Uber eats. The food arrived surprisingly quickly. The broth spilled a bit from it's containers before it arrived, but it stayed super hot as well surprisingly. Pouring it on the beef cooked it almost instantaneously. Overall the food was decent. Great prices and good portions of meat and noodles in the pho, but the broth just didn't quite hit the spot like some other restaurants I've ordered it at.

Beef pho (deconstructed), steam pork buns (top left-15 minute wait needed), pork pan fried (top middle)

My friends and I needed a place for quick food for a large group on a cold night. So Pho 88 delivered on hitting the spot when it came to making sure everyone got their food quickly. The value they bring to the table is also very stellar. First and foremost, they encourage you to order online to get 10% off. They have a qr code system, but it did not seem to work for anyone. This link should work to get 10% off: https://order.mealkeyway.com/merchant/435a4c566236584557684976514b496832657a6632413d3d/main?fbclid=IwAR2PcsTa9KO3xPECFwpkOEs62KvnlrCD_SMZFmiSRmmL73RyPzvVTIHwuIs I ordered the Beef pho, the steam pork buns, and the pork pan fried dumplings. The Beef Pho: The portion size was very large and was a great value. Most places do not provide a large amount of beef, while they put a decent portion. When ordering for pickup, it comes deconstructed so the noodles do not get too soft. They were even generous enough to provide sauces, mint, and bean sprouts without me requesting it. I highly reccomend mixing and adding these components to your meal to enhance and change the flavor as you eat it. The broth on its own had an umami flavor with hints of cinnamon, pepper, and other spices--bound to take your taste buds on a trip. Steam Pork Buns: It took 15 minutes to make, but you can tell they were dedicated to putting in lots of tender love and care. This is the one thing I reccomend to order this with any and every meal from this place. It is a savory and delicate thin bun, packed with pork broth and meat. Pork pan fried dumpling: Unfortunately, this is the one thing I cannot reccomend. This felt very tough to bite and chew, had minimal flavor, and was very doughy. The image I posted shows just how doughy it is. Overall: The meal was very generous in portion sizes. I definitely could have shared what I ordered with another person (especially the pho it was huge). The meal hit the spot in terms of taste, flavor, texture, and variety. If you are in the mood for Pho and pork buns, give this place a shot if you're nearby.

Pho with grilled pork chop + viet spring rolls
    Herlitte B.

Their pho is delicious. They don't have the typical brisket, tripe kind of pho, unlike other Vietnamese restaurants I'm used to. Instead they offer grilled chicken, grilled pork, beef, and shrimp. It's pricy ($10-12) but for the portion, it's justified. Pho comes separately from the meat. Their Vietnamese spring roll is good for ($8) but not the best I've had. Everything is served in plastic btw. Also, don't expect to be served with water with your food. You have to ask for it. There is also no bathroom inside the restaurant. If you ask, they will let you use the restroom next door, since both restaurants share the same owner. Overall, the food is excellent. It's also cozy. More importantly, you get 10% automatically if you dine in or pick up.

The service was okay - it was obvious the server was brand new/still in training so I'm sure he'll get better and congrats to him on the new job! Btw, in case you were wondering this place is NOT Vietnamese-owned, or at least the server + the host + some workers in the back were not, or perhaps they're trilingual. In any case, I was a little sad about that because there really is a lack of good Viet food in NY so although other ethnicities are more than welcome to own places not of their own ethnicities, I was just hoping to find more Viet-owned Viet food businesses. That being said, I got pho bo vien (which I suppose now I know why there's no Vietnamese text on the menu... so this is the viet meatball pho??) and it was okay. Nothing bad, nothing special, probably a bit too pricey for what you get. I was hoping for some comfort food since this location is nearby. The broth was overall fine after adding some hoisin sauce and Sriracha. Unsure if I'll come again... the convenient location for me is probably the main selling point

The baguette was perfectly crisp on the outside while staying light enough to bite through. Every ingredient tasted incredibly fresh and flavorful, the fillings were generous, and the pate added so much rich, savory flavor. I also loved that they chop up the cilantro, so you're not spending a whole minute trying to chew through the stems. Everything was packed together so well that the sandwich held its shape from the first bite to the last without falling apart. The inside feels like a classic Asian bakery, with shelves lined with snacks and baked goods to-go. This is the kind of bánh mì that reminds you why it's such a classic: simple and balanced perfectly. Definitely a spot I'll come back to.

The aunties are mentioned often in other reviews, and that's because they're amazing. They'll gladly explain what you need, especially when it comes to the super tasty (and extremely inexpensive) deserts that populate racks and the drink fridges here. Some are sweet, some are sour (the deserts, that is), they'll let you know. Honesty since a cake here is $5, you can afford to try everything! How on to the main reason that you came, the Banh Mi. You literally can't go wrong with any of the eight main sandwiches here. I've tried them all so you don't have to, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't. The bread is crispy, the ingredients are super fresh, and the tastes combine perfectly. The decor is perfect for this kind of spot. No frills. There are three tables and a bunch of chairs. It's exactly what I want in a takeout type place. They concentrate on the food. So, to wrap this one up. Go. I'd say that I'll be back, but I've been coming here for years. If you haven't, it's time to start.
