The special beef pho was so delicious as well as the summer rolls. My wife enjoyed her grilled pork vermicelli. The ginger tea was nice and toasty. It was just what I needed in this rainy weather. My wife enjoyed her salted lemonade soda. It's just a bit chilly so I recommend keeping your coat on and when using the WC.
This is so delicious. One of my favorite spots close to my house. I recommend everyone go and try it out . The flavors are on point. And the hospitality is above 10!
Food: The pho and spring rolls were delicious. The flavors were authentic and the portions were generous. Cost: The prices were reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food. Environment: The restaurant was cozy and had a laid-back atmosphere. However, the limited seating might result in wait times. Service: The service was friendly and they were quick to take our order. Outside of the quick service, the food itself did take a little time to come out. Once the food did come out, it was delicious and it was worth the wait! Uniqueness: While the pho was excellent, the overall experience wasn't particularly unique. It's a great spot for a classic bowl of pho. If you're around the area, would highly recommend trying this place out (might be difficult with large parties).
Came for dinner on a Tuesday night before a show at Baby's and there was no wait for the 2 of us at 6 pm. Pho bo (beef) and shrimp summer rolls were both really good. Would recommend for a great casual spot in the area!

Cafe Sua Da is EXACTLY like being transported back to Vietnam, thick like chocolate with the sweetness that is the condensed milk Bun Cha, would it be sacrilegious that it's almost better than Vietnam?! No way, but the flavors coming from the meat patties.... I'm still thinking of this dish. Mi Quang, another flavor I've been missing from Vietnam, exactly how this dish should taste, like comfort food from my loves homeland. Also, the staff.... fantastic service! Love the decor. Ambiance is cute and cozy. I love the decor, I'm such a sucker for aesthetic Highly recommend, will definitely return.

Cute, cozy, and casual vietnamese restaurant. Their banh mis were tasty and fairly big for their price. Our food came quick and service was amazing- my server even drew a cute picture on the leftovers bag. I'll definitely come back to try the pho!
WOW best drink I've ever had! It was a super hot day and I was parched. I was walking by High Lua and decided to stop in for a quick drink to-go. I order the salted lemonade (Chanh muoi), which was INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!! It's made in house with preserved lemons - it's a perfect blend of sweet and salty!!! Soooooooooo good!!!!! Tastes similar to "fresh lime soda" in India.

Husband ordered the bun bo hue which seemed more complex with the shrimp paste.
After being in the neighborhood for more than 3 years, I finally made it to this well-regarded neighborhood Vietnamese eatery. I opted for the Đậu hũ nướng, a vegetarian's answer to BBQ with grilled tofu taking the center stage. They offer it with bún, but I opted instead to have the tofu with rice - it made for a satisfying but not overly heavy weeknight meal with all the generous vegetables garnishes.

If you're looking for good Vietnamese in Williamsburg, look no further! Amazing food and service! The Passion Fruit Wings are to die for and the Pork Chop Vermicelli is cooked to perfection. The restaurant is really great for a casual date or a small group of friends. Would highly recommend!

I came here for their lunch service and had a good time! This cozy restaurant in Williamsburg offers some pretty authentic Viet dishes from noodles to rice to banh mi. They also have really good sparkling Viet drinks and viet coffee! Service here is nice. We got their salad rolls, mi quang, and bo kho with their salted lemonade and coconut cream viet coffee. Everything was great. The mi quang was a huge portion with tons of pork, quail eggs, and shrimp. Meanwhile the bo kho had super tender beef and was very fragrant. Loved my Viet coffee and the salted lemonade was so refreshing. Great spot for some casual Vietnamese food in Brooklyn! read more
3.5/4 Had dinner here before a concert at Music Hall of Williamsburg. We ordered the chicken wings and bun cha. The wings were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The flavor was sweeter than I expected it to be, but it ended up growing on me. The pork belly slices in the bun cha were SO GOOD, but the noodles tasted like they could've been fresher. They felt a little stale and had no bounce. Not amazing, but overall a satisfying meal! read more

The pho is very tasty and consistently good. I really really wish they played different music in here though, it would quickly and easily change the vibe so drastically. They have like the worst taste in music for some reason. But yeah the food is good. read more
3.5, rounding to 4. Good place to grab lunch with friends. They were playing catchy V-pop tracks, and the interior is dark with warm lighting. I had the bahn mi saigon (pork, sausage, pate). Unfortunately the pate didn't really come through, I wish it were richer. My friends had the bun bo hue pho, which had decently rich broth and was pretty generous with portions. I'm a big sandwich guy, but would definitely recommend the pho over the bahn mi. read more

I came here with my friend on a Monday night for dinner. I ordered the papaya salad and added fried tofu. It was delicious! The tofu was crisp and the salad was sweet, spicy, and refreshing. The inside of the restaurant is really cute and cozy. Despite being busy with a lot of take-out orders, the staff were attentive and nice. We had a wonderful time! read more
You don't have to worry about leaving hungry because the amount of noodles in the pho alone will fill you up. When it comes to the flavors of the pho, however, they are lackluster. The place itself is small and cozy with maybe 10-12 tables in total. The staff are friendly and attentive. We ordered tofu summer rolls, stir fried corn with salted duck egg, a bowl of beef and a bowl of chicken pho. Starting with the tofu summer rolls: light and refreshing and great with the peanut sauce (can't complain). Stir fried corn with salted duck egg: tasty corn but where is the duck egg? Maybe it was mixed in? I felt like I was misled by the name of this dish Beef pho: Eh. A lot of noodle, decent amount of protein, lack of flavor/aromatics. Chicken pho: Good, flavorful light broth and tender chicken. If you're looking for an elevated hipster vietnamese spot, there are plenty more in the area and in the city that are more worthwhile. But I could also do High Lua for a quick fix. read more

Not the best, but not the worst either. I was in the area and was craving pho. This place had the highest rating on both Yelp and Google so I thought Id give it a shot. It was pretty empty so service was very quick and the waiters were very friendly. The aesthetic is inspired by elements of a local Vietnamese eatery. It was a cute and chill spot. The pho itself left a lot to be desired. There are only a few Pho options and they don't offer extra additions like tripe, tendon, etc. I was also surprised to see no rare steak, which feels like a staple for authentic Pho. My pho came with everything already in it, which didn't bother me but just a heads up. The price was a bit much for what was being offered--$18 for just beef pho? The noodles were also thicker, which isn't what I prefer in Pho. Overall I'd say this is more like a Vietnamese restaurant and not that Pho is their specialty. I didn't try other dishes but one might have better luck with those. Glad I tried it, but I'm still on the hunt for the best pho in Brooklyn. read more
In search of a good vietnamese restaurant in New york and this spot might be it. I love the vietnamese decor. The decorations were nostalgic. Played legit vietnamese msuic. They have this popular vietnamese that's not sriracha called chin-su. I got a bun bo hue with no spicy sate. I know that sounds bad. But I couldn't have any spice for a bit. I didn't expect a large beef rib to sit on top of the bowl, and on top of that there was still lots of meat placed in the bowl! It would have been nice to have more veggies. The noodles were a bit clumped together and was bi colored. Not sure what was going on there. The broth was good. It just lacked the lemongrass and fermented shrimp paste flavor that bun bo hue would normally have. The other two friends I was with gor banh mi and they really enjoyed it. Nice crunch balance with the fluffiness of the inside. The service was great. The server was very attentive. We were there for a while talking and they didn't push for us to leave. read more

It's been over 5 years since my wife and I last visited High Lua and the flavors, the service, and the ambiance are remain outstanding. The flavor is so distinct and truly meant to be admired as a work of art. I am a machine when it comes to dining seemingly eating plates like a competitive speed eater however a work of art like this slows me down to appreciate the sweet, minty, savory, and spicy flavors in every bite. This place is an experience that doesn't disappoint. read more

I like to give another place a chance but some time the food I get is less than my expectations. I was in a mood for Nem nướng but seems like only authentic Vietnamese restaurant has this menu. Other than that, even some place claim to have Nem nuong but doesn't look like or close. So, with no choice and willing to make a bet, I order out from this place and try to pick something that close to that dish. - Beef Pho: is just ok, too much noodles and less vegetables that is suppose to have. Broth is good. - Fried Spring Rolls: kind of oily - Banh Mi Pate: doesn't taste good and dry - Sausage rolls: So so and I'm not crazy about the vegetable they put at all. - Caramelized spareribs: the ribs are dry and sauce isn't good. with the price and taste of food I don't think is worth of money. It is just my opinion, maybe non-Asian will like it so if I want to eat real Vietnamese, I still have to go to Queens. read more

Honestly, I'm so disappointed. Was craving Vietnamese food on this chilly night. Yelp reviews were hyping it up. This, we decided to try. It was a small restaurant with maybe 6-7 tables available? Only 2 ppl working on the floor. Service was quick yet hectic. Seems like it's a get full and go place. We got the passion fruit chicken wing: 5/5! Amazing and fried to perfection. Def could eat another order of this. Beef pho: maybe the worst pho I've ever had. Maybe being growing up from San Jose, California makes me a little skewed- I did not anticipate this level of blandness. The pho itself was very small portioned while had very little pieces of beef, or bean sprouts. Pate bahn mi: ok! Was cold and flavorless. Overall, pretty disappointed with the food and the fact that the restaurant seemingly was rushing everyone dining out of the restaurant as they want to accommodate new customers. 3 is a generous rating.
