Savory Thai had pretty good lunch special deals and I just came here for that. It also looked really cozy and cute from the outside. It was my first time here recently and they offered a 15% discount for first time orders on their website. I bought a Thai Fried Rice lunch special that came with an appetizer. I chose the fried tofu pieces. I also got a Thai iced tea and the place made sure the straw was still half covered with the wrapping paper. The Savory Thai sticker logo was also on the iced tea cup so that was pretty neat. I could choose the spice range for my Thai Fried Rice and I chose mildly spicy. Even with mild spice, the rice was kind of too spicy. I saw red pepper skin flakes in the rice and some jalapeños so it was definitely spicy. Next time I will remember to choose no spice. Other than that the rice was really fresh and I especially loved the chicken. The Thai iced tea was a good refresher in the summer heat. It tasted really good with the sugar. I just loved the taste of Thai iced tea. The tofu appetizer was very crispy and nice to bite on. I loved the crispy and fried part of the tofu. I will be sure to stop by again next time for their other lunch specials. This time when I stopped by, the whole place was empty. It was a small place so it's best to do takeout if you got a large group. read more

for being one of their signature dishes the kra pow chicken didnt really taste like any kra pow chicken ive had before. there was very little if any basil and no basil flavor. it was also very watery and sweet with no chilis despite the 2 chili signs on the menu. maybe they expect you to request for spicy but i feel like being asked wouldve been more reasonable. read more

The place is really a to go spot. You can sit, but it's super small. It's cute for what it is. The staff are so sweet. The food is super yummy. Ok this little spot makes some banging thai food! It's mostly a take-out restaurant , as it only has seating for 6 people max. But we were lucky after a show across the street, to walk past here and catch a seat. The food is soooo good, some of the best fast Thai food I've had. Tried their peanut dumplings, they are so fresh made there and love that they are purple. My girlfriend said her golden wings were delicious and our mains were great. Service is excellent too ,ran by a very friendly lady from Bangkok. I will definitely come back to try more dishes soon. read more

The food was good, but unfortunately, my experience picking up my order left me feeling uncomfortable and disrespected. I ordered pickup through DoorDash, and when I arrived, I was asked for the name on the order. I said, "Benjamin." Instead of simply confirming my order, the employee immediately began telling me that I needed to check in and complete the order through the app, apparently assuming that I was a DoorDash delivery driver rather than the customer who had placed and paid for the order. What made the interaction particularly upsetting was the way I felt I was being treated with suspicion, as though I needed to prove that I was actually a customer. As a Black man, I couldn't ignore the feeling that an assumption had been made about me based on my appearance. I have picked up food from this restaurant before and was never asked to do any of this. I understand that misunderstandings happen, but the entire interaction was uncomfortable and unnecessary. No customer should be made to feel profiled or treated like they're being dishonest simply for walking into a restaurant to pick up food they paid for. It's disappointing because I enjoyed the food, but the way I was treated overshadowed the experience. read more

Savory Thai is small, cozy joint slightly larger than a hole in the wall, space is doubled with outdoor seating. The servers are very friendly. But really, this establishment is small size with a big flavor. I had the drunken noodles and curry puffs, which is basically the standard that I hold all Thai restaurants too and I loved it! I will definitely have to go back, and also try more of the menu. I had gone shortly before closing so I did not want to order a ton and keep them open. read more

Pretty good Thai food here. They have a variety of dishes, and they all sounded all good. Drunken noodles are my go-to, and it was solid. The colour looked so dark though, so one could tell the seasoning was quite strong. It was slightly salty for my taste, but regardless, it was still tasty. My friend and I also shared the roti massaman curry (not pictured), which was also good. But the curry was really watered down? so for dipping the roti, it wasn't great. They also didn't give us that many roti pieces compared to other places, so I was bummed about that. I think the taste of the food was good, but I felt that the texture and the visuals could do some work. This place is more suitable for takeaway orders. There are two tables inside and two on the outside-ish in the wind vestibule (there may have been more outdoor seating) but regardless, the outside isn't suitable for a drizzly or cold day. read more

I rarely crave Thai food (unpopular opinion, I know). However, I recently found myself seeking the comfort of drunken noodles and took it as an opportunity to try a new spot. I've passed by Savory Thai many a time and see many takeout/deliveries coming out the door so gave it a shot. I ordered the roti with chicken curry as an app and of course drunken noodles with chicken as my main. First off, this place is so affordable. On top if that the portions are decently sized so it held me over for my second dinner :) It was also very quick to get to my door overall making it an ideal spot to order in from. The roti was thin and flaky, yet chewy-- everything you could want from roti. The curry on the side was a tad watery for my preference, but good nonetheless. Drunken noodles satisfied my cravings and while there was definitely some heat to it I was thrown off by the tomatoes in it but perhaps thats a common occurrence. I don't consume drunken noodles with a frequency to know. read more

Delicious Thai food for a fair price in Williamsburg! Both the drunken noodles and fried rice were super flavorful. They don't skimp out on meat and the portions are solid for what you pay. I've had their drunken noodles twice now and the spice levels were very different, once super spicy and today was mild, but it's still good regardless. It's teeny tiny, but there is room for four people to sit indoors in the smoke, as well as a few to sit in the enclosed semi-outdoor tent (with heating). Most people order to go, as it's super close to the G/L at Metropolitan/Lorimer. The menu is a bit confusing but the food choices are great. While some menu items are marked vegetarian, it's always worth double checking, because they will make certain things (eg rama thai) without fish sauce and oyster sauce if you ask nicely. The ginger honey tisane is the real deal, and the lychee juice is refreshing. Taking off one star because the amount of smoke indoors makes me a bit worried about covid/illness transmission, and be side there's no restroom. read more

Stumbled upon this spot and so happy we did. The seating area is super small, but clean and nicely decorated. The service was wonderful. They talked me through a few dishes due to my nut allergy. And as our food was ready, the gentleman brought it outside for us, and thanked us so genuinely. The drunken noodles with veggies was so colorful and flavorful. Drinks review only, late night adventure in Williamsburg and a not-so-unusual bubble tea craving. Last week, we were in the area trying to get some desserts from Milk next door after a run to the birria taco truck down the street. One Yelp search later, I discovered that Savory Thai has a good pre-made Taro milk tea and overall milk tea selection. The boba or tapioca bubbles leave something to be desired. I would suggest not chilling them in the fridge to keep the tapioca starch balls from solidifying. Service is great, host even brought our drinks outside as we waited. I'm basing this review off of a one time visit, but, because it was so good, I went back for a second order later in the day :) The food was absolutely delish, fresh and prepared very well. We had two orders of duck, the second order was a little more fatty than the first. The cold Thai tea was so good! And I've ordered Thai tea before, which never appealed to me, but this cup was something I'd order again in an heartbeat. The spicy fried rice is just that, spicy. SO, if you don't like the heat, make sure you are very clear that you want mild. I'm knocking a star from this review for two reasons, one because they did mess my order up by giving me spicy and not mild, which I asked for; the other reason, I can't attest for consistency. I RECEIVED SPOILED FOOD- I didnt want to post this but I feel like i have to warn people about the food that i got. I got the Tomyum noodle soup. It looked visually appealing at first but the ground chicken smelled ROTTEN upon opening the soup and there was also a repulsing amount of chicken & noodles (made me feel like they were trying to get rid of old/bad ingredients they had stored for many many MANY months). I took a bite of the shrimp and i immediately had to spit it out. I lost all appetite and also felt sick after cause the smell was SO SO SO bad. Just moved to Brooklyn, and this place is already my new go-to place. Food is delicious and reasonably priced, and workers are sooo gentle and kind. Definitely a down-to-earth place, which is unique for New York City. Roti is phenomenal (if you like roti on the oily side), and the Thai fried rice, pad woo sen, massaman and red curries, all wonderful. The name of this place speaks for itself ! Easily replaced my go-to Thai spot as soon as I saw it sprout up after walking around that area. Not only is all the food delicious but it also comes out / is delivered quickly. My go-to is the red curry (see picture). But I've also had almost all of their other dishes, which were equally as delicious, including their mango sticky desert, which is AMAZING, as noted in a previous review (get it! ) Location - very convenient spot on the way back to Williamsburg from the Lorimer stop on the L. Also next to milk bar (huge plus for those who need their ice cream fix) Service/staff/customer service - extremely friendly and sweet, from the delivery drivers to front end staff to owners. The owners greet me every time I walk in and are always smiling. They seem to truly care about the success of their business, as well as the overall treatment and servicing of their customers. I would definitely recommend this place for lunch because of their specials. You can choose an entree which comes with a free appetizer and a drink for $1. If you check in on Yelp, they actually give you a free drink (Thai iced tea or iced coffee). I ordered the basil sauce with chicken as the entree and the egg rolls for the appetizer. For the drink, I ordered the iced coffee. The basil sauce was flavorful and there was a good ratio of vegetables to chicken. The egg rolls were okay, I would try the Tom yum soup next time. The iced coffee was very sweet and tasted like a mocha drink. My meal came out to be under $11 which was really affordable considering how much food they give you.
