Almost all the main entree dishes are $13 when you select chicken. Thai iced coffee with milk is at $4.50, which is very affordable compared to other Thai places that are so expensive these days. Currently my favorite dish from them is the Pad Woon Sen, which consists of cellophane or glass noodles. It comes out really hot and fresh when I open the container. The noodles are really thin and soft. The seasoning of the onions and egg make it really good and you just cannot get enough and makes you want more. *DEAD ROACH IN MY FOOD* I visited here for a quick lunch date yesterday. I ordered a Pad Kee Mao and half way through eating I discovered a medium-sized dead roach with it's full body in tact. I immediately spit out what was in my mouth and, after confirming what I was seeing, notified our server. That was the extent of the response: no manager came over, no sincere apology was offered, and there was no acknowledgment of how serious and unsanitary the situation was. Finding a roach in food is not a minor inconvenience, it's a serious health and safety issue. As a business owner, I understand the responsibility that comes with serving the public. We've been coming to Lily Thai for over 20 years and mostly have been satisfied. Tonight we ordered a takeout dinner including their Duck Tamarind entree, which costs $18. The dish, which we've ordered many times before, is supposed to consist of half a duck, but the portion we got tonight was at most one quarter of a duck. Furthermore, rather than consisting of slices of duck, we received a dish containing mostly small bits and ends. When we called to complain, the person on the phone was completely unapologetic and asked: "what do you want we me to do about it?" A friend came over for a Friday night hangout and after the day I had; I needed THAI! He had a favorite spot in the neighborhood when he lived here a while back and we decided to stop into Lily Thai. We waited roughly 20 minutes after placing our order...and there was NO ONE THERE. It was completely empty. Our appetizers arrive; chicken wings and spring rolls. Those spring rolls were super tiny not enough to feed a grown hangry adult. The chicken wings were pretty good but didn't have enough sauce! I was wanting more... I just moved into the neighborhood but have already ordered from this place twice! It's a no frills Thai restaurant located in east Williamsburg that apparently has been around for a while. Since I ordered during the pandemic they're only allowing pick up from this restaurant. I ordered the pad thai and pad se ew dishes during my visits. Both generous portions and made well. I love the location and the atmosphere is very calm. The service is also excellent and very attentive. I used to be an avid Thai food eater and I do enjoy cooking it at home. But, since it is so simple to make, I have a problem paying so much for it. Our bill for two people here was about $87 before tip. We ordered a leaf wrapped fish dish that was $19, it was very delicious but very expensive. This was the best dish ordered. We had the Curry Puff appetizer and it was very sweet. The Duck Salad has really old and tough duck meat on top, more like duck jerkey. I also ordered the Red Curry with Tofu, which was about average. The jasmine rice was a little mushy. The Chocolate Lava cake was overcooked, so there was no lava inside. I also had the fried bananas with ice cream, this dish would have been better with coconut ice cream, or something with interest. read more

I was really pleased with this place. Definitely on par with Sri, right down the road. Although, it's really funny to me (and very telling) that Sri has become the standard to which all other Thai places are judged. The nice thing about this restaurant as opposed to Sri is that there is actually a place to sit. Imagine that! Instead of sitting at one of just a couple 2-seater tables, Lily Thai has tables that can comfortably seat a group of 4. There are roughly 10 tables, as opposed to 3 or 4 tables. You do the math, but this is a much better option if you're out with more than one friend, or at least one friend who enjoys their personal space. The ambiance is also much classier. They have cloth napkins, glass cups, and a waitress who speaks perfect English. Unlike Sri, she is not the line cook. Service here was attentive and pleasant. My entree was also much cheaper than most Thai places. It was $9 for vegetarian duck pad kee mao. Perfect levels of spicy, and very well cooked. When she first brought it out, it almost looked burnt, but I think that it was smoked to give it extra flavor? Regardless, it tasted great. The portions were a little smaller, but I actually prefer that because it saves room for dessert! I had the lychee ($4), which I've never had before. It came in a large wine glass and tasted a lot like pears. Not overly sweet, and the perfect compliment to a moderately spicy dinner.
