STILL SO YUMMY AND GOOD!! Drinks are so yummy and the crispy pork is CRISPY (love the sauce). Note: the spaghetti is SPICY and I could barely eat it.. I am not good with spice.. But still so flavorful and yummy!!

First and foremost what a find !! Chinta is a gem ! Been to greenpoint a lot this summer but never stumbled across this place. We sat outside but the ambiance inside was very pleasant. The service outstanding & the menu.. well I won't spoil it ;) We got an order of plain wings and the Zapp. The plain came with this flavorful chilli honey that was so good we had to order extra. The zapp wings were BEST WINGS EVER. So delicious we also ordered extra. For mains we shared crab fried rice that was perfect & the spaghetti sai-oua. The spaghetti was 9/10 because I wasn't a fan of the sausages but I still would recommend! I'll be coming back here very soon !

Amazing Thai spot in Greenpoint! My friend and I walked in shortly before 6:30 PM on a Friday and got lucky with a walk-in. Dapper snapper was great, but the kao soi gai was the showstopper. Highly recommend getting that. 4.5 stars.

I went to Chinta Thai with a friend after work on a Friday night. We ordered the Ka Praw Gai Khai Dow and the supreme Pad Thai. The food was exquisite and so flavorful. The soft shell crab was amazing and fresh. The Ka Praw Gai is a spicy dish and I can definitely vouch that this dish is spicy. I like spicy and typically can handle it well but by the end of finishing this meal I need to chug a ton of water to help me with the spiciness. I am definitely not complaining at all about the dish. The dish was so so good. The service was great and attentive from the staff. They constantly checked up on us to see if we were okay and needed anything else and refilled our water cups often. The ambiance was great and lively. We had a 8pm reservation and arrived a tab bit late and the staff quickly helped us out in getting seated right away. We sat outdoors as it was a nice warm evening. The interior of the restaurant is a bit small but they also have outdoor seating available. This is such a cute Thai restaurant, the food is so great, and with excellent customer service I can't say one negative thing about this establishment as I left so happy dining here. Unfortunately, I completely forgot to take pictures while dining at Chinta Thai as I was enjoying the moment in real time but I'd say a 10/10 Thai restaurant in Greenpoint.

Came here with a group of four and shared many dishes. We got the minced chicken, pot of gold, and the winter special. Would definitely order one dish per person. Personally, the favorite was the pot of gold. Definitely not something I have seen at other Thai restaurants before. I liked how it was a semi sweet rice with lots of veggies and seafood on top. The minced chicken was good, and tastes like basil and pork dishes at other restaurants. The winter special was also delicious, but finish it quickly, or else the noodles will soak up all the sauce and cool, which is not as good. We ended up being seated outdoors with no reservation on a Friday night, and it was pretty quick, but can definitely see this place getting more popular.

Walk-in for 2 on Thursday dinner. I've ordered takeout from here a few times and every time has been excellent. Glad to experience the in-person dining with friendly service. Vibe is casual nice. I loved the color theme of red and tan, to give a modern and inviting look, and the floor to ceiling windows give the place an openness making it appear more spacious. Loved their menu design in a book form with laminated pages and page markers! It's a nice added detail that I appreciate from restaurants that make the experience that much better. Both dishes we got were delicious and spicy. You can tell each one was prepared as an art form. The house sauce on the furious calamari and on the side was delish. The flavor on my Kao Soi Gai was on point, a bit spicy but I enjoyed it. My boyfriend loved the Ka Praw Gai Khai Dow as it was spicy to his liking and protein rich.

Came in during brunch hours on Saturday because I saw a picture on Yelp of some pandan pancakes only to find out there was no brunch menu, so we were a little bummed about that. But it was cute inside and the servers were really nice. For two of us, we ordered: - Zaab Wings (yummm) - Tom Yum Soup (solid, not that spicy) - Krapow Moo Krob (sweeter than what I prefer with mostly fatty pieces) - Supreme Pad Thai (so good - reminded us of Pad Thai that we had in Krabi, Thailand) Overall we had a really good meal. Hope they consider bringing the pandan pancakes back (if they ever had them) because I've been on a real pancake kick lately.

I've been wanting to try this moody yet inviting entrant into the Greenpoint dining scene for some time. I'm glad I finally did, as the "impossible" larb burger is one of the more exciting dishes I've tried so far in 2025. The larb burger is a reimagining of the classic Thai salad employing sticky rice as buns, served with a fire engine-red chutney that gives the dish some punch. (Practically speaking the burger needs to be de-constructed into classic larb form for consumption, but it's a nice aesthetic touch nonetheless.)

Thank you snowstorm... you forced me to celebrate an anniversary dinner local with last minute reservations. On the "to try" list for quite some time we finally made it to Chinta Thai. Reservation made same day online with ease, table for two noting we were celebrating our anniversary. While we were seated right away, there was no acknowledgment of our special occasion. The concept and offerings were interesting with the menu reading like a fairytale storybook. Loved the concept and inclusion of pics. Ordered a happy hour cocktail... and a regular cocktail a couple appetizer and main entrees... half of the food was room temp upon receipt. They politely (and without hesitation) warmed it up upon request, as I do prefer my rice steaming hot and my food hotter than received. The pork appetizer was full of flavor and delicately balanced jaew sauce with the vermicelli and lettuce. Curious calamari was the mouth feel I didn't know I needed.. crunchy on the surface and tender in the inside, although fried no trace of oil to be seen. Garlic sautéed shrimp was fresh and cooked to perfection (despite the temp issue), however I would've preferred a stronger garlic taste that I'm accustomed to with Thai food. The prawns were held in high regard, as we chewed the heads ...extracting all the flavors. Also cooked well, but not served piping hot. Couple of signature cocktails with smoky mezcal.... And having to pack some to go, as the belly had "no more room at the inn". Overall a delicious dinner, despite the hiccups they were easily corrected. Minus a star for food temp, incorrect itemized bill and failure to mention loyalty program... most of which were corrected when addressed. Worth another attempt to see if they get it all right... but maybe for lunch.

Had early dinner here yesterday with a friend. I read reviews prior to picking this restaurant and was curious how it is. It is a small restaurant with seating inside and outdoors. We were greeted by the host and was given the option where we prefer to sit and we picked inside as it's getting chilly lately in NY. Our host name is Toto, very pleasant and really nice. He chatted with us which is a plus and so much fun! We chose three items to share- we got the curry puff- three round pastries filled with these delicious chicken, potato and curry flavor which you dipped into this oniony sweet sauce. Also got the crab mango vibes which is part of their summer menu - a deep fried soft shell crab topped with mango salad- absolutely delish! The third dish is the chicken pad see ew - basic thai dish but my comfort food, always love it. And the finale is of course, the mango sticky rice with the rich coconut cream on top! My tummy was full and my mood uplifted. Definitely a must try and of course I will come back and try more of their dishes!

Came here for a lovely dinner! Immediately I was charmed by the cute decor - their menus are inside books so it looks like you're reading when you're perusing the menu. We got the tofu massaman for an app, which had a great sauce. The real star were the mains, the pad see ew and the garlic sautéed (both with chicken). For some reason, I found the flavors to be extremely saturated and somehow better than normal versions of these dishes I've had at other Thai restaurants. Highly recommend. It came out to about $50 before tax and tip, which was very reasonable for a night out. Love this spot!

The food is very different than the usual Thai food. The service is so friendly and courteous more than I expected. I like the zero proof cocktail choices. Outdoor sitting is very nice. You can walk people watch as you enjoy your meal watch out for the spices.

Loved that every table had fresh flowers; you can tell they really care about the little details. We ordered quite a bit and honestly, everything was on point: · Lychee Thai Iced Tea & Yuzu Pop - both refreshing and not too sweet (huge plus for me since I don't have a big sweet tooth). · Moo Ping - solid start to the meal. · Salmon Mango (GF) - the salmon was cooked through (which I asked for), and the mango salad underneath was light and tangy. The sweet fruit with the savory fish worked way better than I expected. · Pineapple Fried Rice - came with shrimp, nice wok aroma, and that perfect sweet-tangy pineapple kick. · Pineapple Lychee Crispy Duck (GF) - duck skin was nice and crispy, and the coconut-based sauce with lychee and pineapple kept it from feeling heavy or greasy. · Branzino Chili Lime (GF) - came out piping hot, classic Thai-style sour broth that paired perfectly with the fish. No fishy taste at all, and the texture was tender. Even the drinks and dessert weren't overly sweet, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall, really enjoyed the meal here -- flavors are solid, service was friendly, and you can feel the effort they put into the experience. Definitely coming back!

I dislike bamboo shoot which is not a standard ingredient for this particular entrée. I think the bamboo shoot tainted this entrée. I am a traditionalist conservative which bean sprouts is a good substitute variation for bamboo shoot vegetable including string bean. This entrée is my favorite default and as a caveat, if any Thai restaurant or cafe do not offer on their menu I refuse entry to patronize. This entrée enticed my interest and embedded the lunch meal menu for the reasonable price. I personally despise and do not consume spicy hot foods, but occasionally consume mild or very mild in the smallest measurement of the Scoville scale which I specifically requested, but received medium hot spicy. The waitress forewarned me the intense heat level on the Scoville scale as Thai cultural spicy with two or more bird's eye chilies for a high level of spiciness. The spiciness of chili peppers were, in my opinion, medium spicy. Despite the intense medium heat spiciness, the stir-fried noodles lacked flavor with, tender chicken, minimal vegetables, and Thai basil in a bland taste. I wish I chosen shrimp as the protein. Pad Kee Mao sustained my hunger pangs and ate my fill. When eating Thai intense heat spicy foods, I visualize to think of the TV segment "Niall Horan & James Corden Take On Hot Wings" on "The Late Late Show with James Corden" in March, 2020. High heat spicy foods! Thai ice tea, large $3.00 This was a delight and neutralized the heat spiciness because it contains milk. It was served chilled in a large highball glass. Where can I even start with this restaurant…read more.. My girlfriend picked this spot to end our date night, and boy did she choose a gem. From the initial hospitality, to the last bite, everything was a 10 out of 10, and I say that sparingly when dining out. For the drinks we went with a Thai Iced Tea and Key Lime Thai Iced Tea. The Thai Iced Tea was amazing, though a tad sweeter than what we were used to. Nonetheless it was still a great palette cleanser in between dishes. Now that Key Lime Thai Iced Tea was DIFFERENT. Upon sipping, you get hit with a nice tart sweetness from the key lime that is met immediately with the smooth creaminess from the Thai iced tea. The combination worked so perfectly I had to force myself to not finish the drink before the dishes arrived to the table. 10/10, I don't want to drink another drink again if it's not that one. For starters we had the Chicken Curry Puffs and Calamari. The curry puffs were perfectly fluffy with the nice earthy, sour, spicy, sweet umami flavor of the curry filling, which they did not skimp on. The Calamari was also perfectly crispy and salted, and went really well with the peanut tamarind sauce that came with it. 10/10 For the main courses we ordered the Tom Yum Crab Fried Rice, Braised Spicy Basil Duck, and Spicy Holic Noodle. Firstly, the portions were massive. For perspective, I'm 6'2 230lbs and can eat a good amount, but even after sharing each dish with my girlfriend the plates looked barely eaten. We did not complain about having leftovers though. The Tom Yum Crab Fried Rice came with a massive pile of lumped crab meat, which was probably the most crab I've ever received for this dish from other restaurants. The dish was well-balanced and provided a nice sourness that was unexpected but tasty. 9.5/10 only because I wish it was a tad spicier from the Tom Yum spices. The Braised Basil Duck was probably my favorite dish of the night. The duck was juicy and tender and still had a little crisp on the skin despite being covered in spicy basil sauce. The dish was also very balanced and had a great helping of duck and bell peppers, which added great texture and soaked up all of that sauce. 10/10 The final dish, Spicy Holic Noodles, was also a favorite of mine. The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the thin rice noodles soaked up all of the spicy sauce and added a nice chewy texture to the dish. The string beans were also nice and crunchy and added more playfulness to the texture of the dish. 10/10 This is definitely a great spot for date nights, gatherings with friends, or even a solo date. The space is intimate, but not too overwhelming for people who aren't fond of large crowds. I'll definitely be back and would recommend everyone visit at least once.

They recommended not to order the pad krapow nuer, and honestly, fair enough. Instead, we got the chicken khao soi, which was far better than versions I've had elsewhere - deeply flavorful, spicy, rich with umami. My partner was crying. I, meanwhile, was at "this is perfect and I'm having a great time." One Huge chunk of chicken cooked exactly right. Mix everything thoroughly before eating. Then came the kua kling which arrived with another warning. That dish became my personal challenge to impress the server, and apparently I succeeded because now they've promised that next time they won't discourage me from ordering the nuer. They kept refilling cabbage and cucumber for us to cool down from the heat. The kua kling itself was incredible. That dry curry heat was everything. It builds slowly, then suddenly punches you in the face - but alongside all that spice is an insane amount of flavor. They also recommended to order a non-spicy side dish to have a balanced meal and spice level, but we skipped it because it would've been too much food. Honestly, this is the kind of place where going with at least four people is ideal so you can try more dishes and balance the spice levels. And if you're unsure what to order, trust the servers - their recommendations were spot on. Also: really great ciders and beers. We were really happy with both choices. Overall, even though it's far from the city for me, I'd absolutely go back.

Newsflash: Ugly Baby is back on its bullshit. Ugly Baby's…read moreconceit, if you can call it that, was that it was really, really spicy. Spicy food, in case you didn't know, connotes authenticity. Call it suffering for beauty, in a culinary wrapper. Ugly Baby took this S&M theater to its logical conclusion in all regards: tuck it in an inaccessible corner of South Brooklyn; use tiny chairs and brusquely inform diners they have an hour start to finish at their table. The more inconvenient it was, the better. I held my applause after my single visit to Ugly Baby, which closed amidst wails and lamentation last year from people who liked rough treatment. But something drew me back to this reincarnation, started by the same people. Maybe, I thought, they'd found a way to bring us that magnetic authenticity, and hold the ball gags and chain flails? The answer is no. I should have known from the name alone: another mysterious two-word phrase (both of whose words again end in -y) that sounds like it could be an overly literal translation of some ineffable Thai concept. I should have known when it opened in the same godforsaken corner of ... what is that? Gowanus? I should have known from the protracted negotiations for a suitable table that followed when my husband, mom and I arrived punctually for our 5:30 reservation and were primly informed we'd be squeezing onto a two top, then were refused an obviously empty three-top ("it's reserved"....oh you mean by a party of three with a reservation like us?), and then grudgingly seated at a four-top, half of which was literally in the kitchen. I should have known after being apprised that "you have one hour at the table." I should have known when there were no appetizers or desserts, and only two vegetarian entrees. This is the same thing as before. We're so back, baby. The mushroom curry, with its single fire emoj, was nowhere near the spiciest thing on the menu, but gosh was it still spicy. How do they make food with such complex flavors that's still hot enough to have emanated from the bowels of hell? It has to be one of the best curries I've had. It's a talent, special even, but it could easily coexist without Hungry Thirsty's other downsides. But I think all those inconveniences and discomforts are the point. They serve to reinforce the specialness of the special parts, counterintuitively increasing your mental investment in internally extolling Hungry Thirsty's virtues. They are to each element what spice is to food: it hurts, and you're proud that it hurts. It all adds up to the second coming of Ugly Baby, and why wouldn't it? Enough people liked being slapped around; maybe they felt like they deserved it. You know if that's you or not.

My first time here and it was a great experience. It is Valentine's Day and we left with a cute little gift from them, beautiful gesture. Definitely coming back :)

Had been passing this spot for years and finally had the chance to stop in…read more Host was polite and quickly sat us without a reservation - we wanted to sit outside and there was room thankfully. Wait staff was attentive to dietary needs, exemptions and ensured our request was followed to a T. Ordered some Khao Kriab Pak Mor (dumplings) to start along with a pair of mocktails. And an order of Khao Na Ped (smoked vegan duck) and Ginger Chicken (vegan). All served well with good portion. What I personally liked is the 2 dishes took a bit, not slow or long but IMHO taking a little bit always seems it was cared for in prep. Who knows just my thing. The staff has a challenge to accommodate outdoor seating as the bldg doesn't have an inside/back door for them and they must carry food out the front door, down the sidewalk and into the garden area. That's tough but they do it with grace. The seating was okay since it's early enough but bugs showed up - no surprise - not a complaint just the reality of life and online typing in case anyone is considering it and is more sensitive to the same.
