Been here before, but this was my first time seeing the full renovation and wow, the place looks sublime! The retro wall decor really stands out, and the full bar is very inviting. Amy and Nae are welcoming as always. Their food is fresh and delicious. Chicken was crispy and really well seasoned, the spicy fish was tender with a good kick, and the curry puffs are my go to. We had some yummy watermelon smoothies and cocktails but forgot pics because I drank mine too fast lol

This new Thai restaurant opened in Greenpoint! Right now Kub Kao is in its soft opening, so the decor is almost fully set up but still putting up finishing touches. They are also waiting on a liquor license, so no cocktails just yet. I really like visiting restaurants during the soft opening. You often can get special treatment. from the owners/staff who are very open to feedback and hearing how everything is during your visit. The owner, Amy, made us these honey lemonade drinks which were very refreshing! And Amy recommended some dishes to us, and wanted to get our thoughts. To start, we tried the Thai fruit salad and the Calamari Thai Kick. The calamari had a delicious seasoning! While I would typically associate the fruit salad as dessert due to the sweet fruits, there is a savory dressing used and it was quite refreshing! For the entrees, we enjoyed the duck curry and the steak fried rice. The steak was so tasty and was tender. It was a nice dining experience here! Wishing the team a lot of success for their official opening!

Came here solo for dinner and was so happy to try this new spot! Once I walked in I was invited into a warm nice decor and greeted by the sweetest staff. I started off with a Thai Iced Tea which normally is too sweet for me to drink but this one was much better since it had just the right amount of sweetness. For appetizer I got the crispy shrimp roll with chili sauce which had the perfect crunch, shrimp were cooked perfectly and the bit of herbs and chili sauce brought nice flavor and freshness I enjoyed. Next I had the beef salad which was super tasty. Tasted so home cooked and authentic. The beef was cooked perfectly and the marinade was to die for. I really loved the flavoring!!! For entree I had chicken Rama which had a great cook and an amazing peanut sauce that I could eat for days. The rice was cooked to perfection and had a great consistency . For dessert was a cold grass jelly that was sweet and flavorful. You should definitely try this place if you're in the neighborhood , one of the best quality Thai places I have found in the Greenpoint/ Williamsburg area to date!

Such a sweet people and cozy and modern vibes :) I must mention about our waiter. They were so friendly and great service. The restaurant was pretty neat, even the floors and walls! Hurry up it is still a new!! Lunch meals are only Mon-Fri. I recommend to go on weekdays ! its a bit pricy but all are great potions :) I enjoyed my Pad Prik Khing with Pork. It was so well cooked and seasoned! Green curry Gai Yang was wonderful. the chicken drum sticks are massive! I just always love having some Thai seasonings on the side of the table and taste more stronger but their menu sections are great. You and many cocktails as well. That was a good Atmosphere for girls talk!!!!!

What a gem! I was patiently waiting to try this new Thai spot for lunch, and finally the temperature outside rose to an agreeable number and I was up for the walk. The restaurant itself was well adorned and I loved the "vibe" of the place. Cozy and cute decor, well executed placement of supplemental heaters and an overall comfortable feel. The service was amazing from the moment we walked in, the waitress was engaging and a delight for a first time visit. She explained they were still awaiting their liquor license which wasn't an issue for me as it was a weekday lunch and a Thai iced tea was perfect. She explained that it wasn't too sweet, and that being my preference made me all the more excited to try. The lunch special included a spring roll and soup $16.95. Thai iced tea $8 ( but a whopping 20 ounces !) I tried both the basil chicken and chicken massaman curry... both were delicious! A restaurant's abilities lie in the depth of their curry and this place nailed it! The curry wasn't bland, hint of spice, creamy and flavorful and the jasmine rice fragrant and fluffy. Basil chicken tender and vegetables fresh.... I will definitely be returning and look forward to trying dinner. Great lunch experience! Special thanks to Amy my server!

We had an absolutely amazing meal at Kub Kao last night. Kudos to the owners for opening this lovely Thai restaurant in Brooklyn. The vibe is clean, modern, and hip. Great service - very warm and accommodating, friendly and happy just like being in Thailand. The food omg was so delicious! Absolutely fresh, made to order, top quality ingredients. You can tell a lot of care goes into making these dishes. They just started their business and already I can see they're going to be a neighborhood go-to spot! My favorite was the Mee Krob - crispy rice noodles tossed with a lime glaze and makrut leaves. Sublime. And the whole Branzino fish presented on a platter was such a special touch. I cannot wait to come back for more!

A Hidden Gem Just Opened - Kab Kao Just visited Kab Kao, a brand-new Thai spot -- and honestly, I'm impressed! The vibe is cozy yet stylish, with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to sit and stay a while. The food? Absolutely delicious. Every dish tastes home-cooked with premium ingredients -- full of flavor, balanced, and beautifully presented. Highly recommend trying the nam

The Thai food here is delicious; I've never tasted anything like it before. I'll definitely choose this restaurant again next time I'm in the area.

Our group of 4 started with a bottle of Pinot Grigio and a few appetizers to share, namely: Som tum papaya salad and dumplings curry. For the main entree, my eyes caught the attention of clay pot mix-fried rice with shrimp, chicken, sweet sausage, and my partner chose shrimp pad thai. Nothing really stood out with the dishes; I found it to be a bit Americanized, having eaten in so many Thai restaurants around New York City. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner here; our food came in timely fashion, and the customer service is good as well, but it's probably not your place if you are seeking a more authentic Thai-style cooking.

PLEASE get the mango stick rice cocktail omg it was gone in like 5 sips because it was so good. The tuna ceviche was so refreshing and the sauce had a little kick to it which I absolutely loved! It was like a sprinkle of Thai on a classic tuna ceviche. Note the taro chips are a little thicker than a typical chip! The pork jowl wasn't as crispy as I expected but it was still flavorful and the portion size was huge, considering how it was an appetizer. We got pineapple lychee crispy duck, crab fried rice, and kana crispy pork over rice as our entree. ALL WERE SO GOOD! The curry for the pineapple lychee crispy duck was so creamy and flavorful, with the duck portion being huge and being the perfect texture. I loved that it was crispy and didn't get soggy fast in the curry. The crab fried rice was top tier as there were SO MANY HUGE CRAB PIECES!! You can definitely tell that it had flavors of seafood/crab.. they did not skimp out! And the kana crispy pork over rice was huge portion as well, but note that it was a big strong/saltier than the other dishes. For dessert, the pandan coconut pudding custard was SO yummy. It was warm and so flavorful and creamy!! I fell in love with Brooklyn even more after coming here. Highly recommend!!

I feel differently about Hungry Thirsty. At this point I've been to countless Thai restaurants, and for the most part they've all been fantastic. Compared to all those fantastic meals the flavors here still stand out and I'm excited to read that they're expanding with additional locations. They have a phenomenal and lengthy beer selection, which is fun because it complements the spicy fried dishes quite well. The fried branzino and shrimp and squid in salted duck yolk were very tasty with white rice but the dish that lit up my taste buds was the Kai Jeow Pu- colossal crab omelette. The egg was deep fried in an aromatic oil and filled with fresh, large pieces of crab and served with a phenomenal zesty sauce. The place is tiny and no frills, and our server chafed at my partner for pronouncing a beer on their menu incorrectly, which just added to the experience. I loved it here!

Unfortunately, I have to admit I was pretty disappointed. Most of the dishes, especially the sauces, they were extremely salty! - Beef Tartare "Dine-In Exclusive" -- I'd skip this one. The beef was very dry, and it came with taro chips and greens but no sauce to tie everything together. Definitely not what I expected from a tartare. - Enoki Bloom -- Crispy, perfectly fried enoki mushrooms that I actually enjoyed. The only downside was that it was also very salty. The creamy green sauce on the side helped balance it out. - Crying Tiger -- Another skip for me. The steak was dry, tough and chewy, and the meat itself was pretty bland. The sauce had plenty of flavor, but again, it was way too salty. - Pork Jowl -- Probably my favorite dish of the meal. It was perfectly grilled, tender and flavorful. I'd skip the sauce though since the pork was already delicious on its own. - Crab Curry -- Unfortunately, another very salty dish. I honestly don't know how it got this salty. I was expecting more of the spicy or slightly sweet flavors you normally get from a Thai curry, but the salt completely took over. Very disappointing!!! - Thai Iced Tea -- This was actually really good. Creamy, rich and not overly sweet. The menu changes seasonally, so unfortunately, some of the dishes I had seen online were no longer available when I went. I was really looking forward to trying Tong, especially since it's so close by, but overall the meal just didn't do it for me. I probably wouldn't come back or recommend it based on this experience.
