It's Tuesday morning and I'm looking for a breakfast spot that's opened by 8am. Cafe Alita popped up on my search and had a pretty stellar rating. We trekked the 20 minutes from where we are and make our way. This little trip didn't disappoint! I ordered the pastrami, egg, and cheese on a plain biscuit, while my SO ordered the chorizo biscuit with egg and cheese sans aioli. As we sat down and waited for our food, the chef was like, I insist you try it with the aioli and we said we accept this decision. Customer service here is fantastic. The girl at the register was very sweet and the chef, super friendly. There is a new sandwich on the menu but the Focaccia wasn't ready yet. Guess we'll have to come again! read more

I'd rate Alita Cafe three and a half stars. Small coffee shop with specialty biscuit sandwiches. We shared a chorizo and cheddar biscuit with pastrami, egg, and cheese. Biscuit was good. Unfortunately, we came later in the day, so the biscuit was at the end of is shelf life. Big fluffy egg that was almost frittata like. The egg was my favorite part of the sandwich. I would have skipped on the pastrami. Service was quickly, friendly, and helpful. I visited for my daily matcha latte on a cold, rainy weekend day. When I entered there were only two other guest, by the time I got my drink and left, there was about 7 people in there! The customer service was amazing. The staff was super attentive and asked me questions to make sure the order was correct and made sure the confirm everything. Super nice, super kind, super fast to make the order, the customer service is great overall. I got a matcha latte with oat milk and no sweetener. My matcha latte tasted a bit too powdery/chalky for my liking, but it was overall okay. I didn't love it, but it was good enough. It's hard to get the "just right" amount of matcha powder. Too much and it's powdery/chalky. Too little and there it little to no matcha flavor. The shop was small for 7 guests to be in line to order, but there are two 2-person table seats and 4 counter seats. Inside is very cute and a nice place to just sit and hang out. read more

Alita deserves the hype! Stopped by to order a highly raved BEC (bacon egg and cheese) and was thoroughly impressed. Perfect sweetness from the biscuit and sauce used and well cooked eggs that weren't too soft it fell apart and not too undercooked that it was dripping everywhere. The 3 person team running the show when I was in shop was phenomenal. All of whom were extremely friendly and switching between duties seamlessly. They offered another customer an extra pastry after their croissant fell apart when being picked up. The same employee ran after a woman who left forgetting she ordered a BEC. Another worker would take stops very briefly to say hello to any puppies that walked into the shop and gave them a treat. The last worker gave me a little extra egg after waiting ~15 mins for the BEC. Tip: you can call ahead! Small shop! A couple seats inside and out if you want to take a little break. Wow! This is a little hidden gem. This is probably the best coffee I've ever had in NYC. Doesn't taste burnt at all like most other places and it has a nutty aftertaste. Really delicious - doesn't even need syrup flavors. The chocolate chip cookie is divine and tastes homemade! I'm so happy I stumbled upon this little hole in the wall. It's tiny inside but there are a few tables / stool seats by the window. It's a great spot to bring a book and people watch. They have a bunch of other pastries that look delicious as well and I'm excited to try them all! This spot is just steps from the L train at Grand St. Don't miss it! I frequent this spot often with my partner on weekend mornings. He's a coffee lover where I prefer anything but that, but I will say from what I've tasted from taking sips of his cups of coffee, along with the chai lattes and teas I've ordered, it's one of the best I've had in Brooklyn. The pastries and sandwiches are a perfect combo with a drink and will get you through the mornings. The bacon egg and cheese on a croissant is my go to. The sauce that's on it is a perfect tie in. The prices are typical for a coffee shop in the city, however thankfully not overpriced. The space itself is a quaint little storefront on a busy commercial street. Not a place to have a long sit down, more just a quick rest and out you go. The service is quick and friendly and they will always accommodate any requests that you may have. Super impressed with the pastries and overall vibe of this cafe! The banana bread is moist, perfectly sweet and topped with a nice caramelized, crunchy crust. The cookie is HUGE and everything you would want from a freshly baked cookie - buttery, gooey with just the right amount of crunch. It just melts in your mouth. Got an iced matcha latte from this cute little coffee shop in Williamsburg. There's not a ton of seating inside, but they do have some seats. The matcha latte was great, and had a nice strong matcha flavor. The barista was super friendly and took the time to make sure I liked the amount of simple syrup in it. They also have a punch card loyalty program! read more

I was in the neighborhood for something else but needed a place to chill a while so I hung out at Alita Cafe. It's quite small but there are two counter stools against the front window where you can sit down. The seats are comfy as they can be for stools, fortunately. There is another medium size table and a few seats right outside, but the sidewalk is a little small so if you need quiet space, I recommend sitting inside. The coffee shop has a nice variety of pastries, if you want to have it with your coffee. I had a cup of hot latte, and it was alright. The barista was very friendly. read more

It's honestly absurd that they charge you 75¢ for ice. I've gone in there 5 different times and paid 5 different prices for the same thing "Iced Hibiscus mixed with their jasmine green tea"... now i didn't mind when i was charged extra for mixing the teas, but to pay for ice? insane. Wow what a fantastic hole in the wall! Right when you walk in you see what a cozy space they've made-the cool green ceiling, all the plants, & embracing the brick in their space. Every person I spoke to was so kind, and they make an incredible latte. And yes, they do have oat milk! I also picked up one of their cheddar scones and it was incredible. In town visiting family and we decided to try Alita for breakfast. The food, coffee, and staff were incredible! We all opted for the Alita BEC on biscuits which were made to order. The baked goods had just come out of the oven which made it a hard choice. The biscuits were huge and so filling!! The eggs were light and fluffy and the sriracha aioli sauce was not spicy but added a wonderful flavor. The coffee was excellent too!! Everything was AMAZING!! We had an opportunity to speak with the owner and heard about how he got started and where the name came from. You can tell and taste the joy and passion! This cafe is really an awesome addition to the neighborhood. The cold brew is really good and they have a bunch of milk options including oat which I appreciate. My 5 year old loves the banana bread and I was ordered to buy her a slice each day that I go in there to get myself a coffee. Haha. She also loved the chocolate croissant she had. All of the baked goods that I have had from there have been delicious (yes, I've been there every weekday that they've been open). The biscuits are so good. They had a new chorizo and cheese biscuit and it was amazing. I think they bake everything there each morning, which I also appreciate because you literally know you are getting the freshest biscuits and croissants.
