Like this place but the lady in the afternoon is extremely rude. I came twice already and she had the same energy. It's like she hates her job. FYI I'm a new customer so I never interacted with her before. I pay and I tip well so it has nothing to do with that. Lady also never by the cashier when you walk in. As a native California acai-bowl-obsessed girl, I always find myself consumed with a craving for one when I'm in New York.. which is a struggle since I've realized how hard it is to find good acai outside of SoCal lol. luckily, I've found this place to be a solid option in Bushwick-- I've ordered bowls from this cafe when the craving gets particularly inescapable and they do the job. I particularly like the Matcha Bowl which is blended with spinach and almond milk and topped with fruit and gluten free granola. The consistency is a bit icey and melts fairly quickly but it's decently slushy enough to not be totally watery and tastes very healthy and refreshing, which I appreciate. Excellent place to study! It is very peaceful here with the white noise of occasional cafe sounds such as coffee machines. It usually runs from 8am to 7pm, so you can fuel a whole study/work day with their extensive menu of coffee, smoothies, bowls, bagels, etc. I accomplished much more studying here than I did at home. For the couch potatoes reading this, there are a few cozy sofas and chairs. The interior setup is a great mix of small tables, window seats, couches, and more. Outside there is a garden if you want to relax and enjoy the nature. I bought a dirty chai which had an excellent flavor. There have been too many times that I ordered chai from a place, and it ends up being weakly flavored or just made with some weird chai syrup. This had a great blend of spices and that shot of espresso to keep me going. Later on, I ordered a wheatgrass shot which made me feel a bit healthier (at least in my mind). Cool cafe. The environment is a place where you can chat, lounge, and chill. Not busy at late afternoon hours. Customer service was good, barista was very friendly. Moving on to the food. I ordered spinach quiche and iced matcha green tea. Spinach quiche was already prepared, so it was just heated up, but it was good. The barista added some side salad, and I would say the dressing was good. I wouldve given this place a 5 star, but had to deduct a star for the iced matcha latte. The matcha taste wasn't strong enough that I could taste the soy milk more than the matcha. Apart from that, everything's good! Will come back some other time! read more
