I saw on their menu they had a chai latte and also a golden latte (with turmeric). Very long story short, I've been drinking an instant version of a chai turmeric latte at home so I asked if they can mix the two, and they were down to get wild with it and I appreciated that so much. My verdict: very good, could have used more turmeric. Kinda hope they add it to the menu. Maybe they can call it a Chai Glow. Their patience and overall vibe was soooo refreshing. P.S. We went to this place for the first time for brunch and their foods were great! We had the Everything on everything bagel which comes with cream cheese, avocado, cucumber, pickled red onion and tomato, and also their ham&cheese croissant and our favorite cardamom pastry. They all tasted so good and the bagel was pretty big. We loved their cardamom pastry as it was soft and tasted amazing. They also have free WiFi so you can have a lunch there and work as well. Came here for the first time today, ordered a sesame bagel with cream cheese, turkey and tomatoes which came out to $11. I mean I think its pretty expensive because I've got the same bagel in other places which came out to maximum $10 with extras included. The bagels are soooo small. I used to come here often to write and staff have been very friendly, wit the exception of one blonde girl who wears a septum ring who always looked angry. One day I took a phone call and decided to take it outside in case I was being loud and the above mentioned girl was coming inside carrying chairs at the same time, I guess I got in her way by accident and she had to stop for half a second and she yelled out "YOU CAN USE THE OTHER DOOR F%CK!!!!" I was shocked but on the phone with Verizon so I needed to finish my call. When I was done I walked up to her and asked her "what was the deal?" and she started saying "how dare I TRY and get in her way" or something crazy and I said "I didn't see you, and do you think its ok to swear at customers" and she replied "yes" so I asked her name and took a seat, she started rambling more madness at me as I was sitting down so I called her a psycho, then she kicked me out of the place, I messaged the owners through instagram and got no response....dont hire people who wear cow bells is the lesson here read more

Second time coming here, and the roasted bush bagel is awesome. We returned to order it again along with a couple of iced coffees--essentially the same order as our first visit. The first time, our bill was around $38, and we tipped five bucks on our own accord, even though it's not table service. After placing our order this time, the total came to over $48. Confused, we inquired and learned there's a 20% gratuity fee automatically added to bills over $40. This is baffling. How do two bagels and two coffees add up to $40? It didn't the first time. The food is good, but this was ridiculous. As a native New Yorker, I'm offended by this automatic gratuity, especially for a place without table service. Even at full-service restaurants, you have the option of a 15% tip. We walked out. No table service and an automatic premium tip? That's a no-go for me. read more

I came upon Milk and Pull as a confused tourist trying to find pastries for my daughter who was staying nearby while recovering from surgery. I was lost. I was confused. I had to use the bathroom. Generally I was becoming more and more stressed as I searched for pastries with no luck. The service I got was so great. I was put at ease and given great recommendations. Ordered the breakfast burrito(which i have had before) and the guy who made it used the bare minimum of ingredients and just wrapped the tortilla around itself then drenched the whole thing in chili oil(which is supposed to be an accent on the sandwich). Usually it is a full burrito with almost too much egg and the perfect balance of everything else, but this time there was very clearly one egg(maybe half haha). I ate the whole thing after squeezing it and letting the oil pool up in the box i was served in(a baffling amount btw)because I wanted to believe that he knew what he was doing, and the price point of $14.75 kept flashing through my head. I felt sick to my stomach afterwards. If you don't understand the fundamentals of a sandwich, then you can learn. If you just don't care enough about making it correctly, then you should not have a job serving people food. I have to do it. I'm taking two of my stars back, for three reasons: 1. There's barely ever any seats available. Most tables are taken over by single people on their laptops, with the chair opposite them empty. 2. Yes, I always go later in the day. But that doesn't mean they should only have a few pastries left. They need to stock more options that could last more days, so the afternoon crowd could have more to choose from. And more vegan options, please. 3. I already didn't like that they don't have any flavors for their coffee. However, I have to add a complaint after my most recent visit when my sister ordered an iced latte. Instead of a plastic cup, they gave her the same cup that's used for hot drinks. I would accept this if the paper cup was eco-friendly, but it's not. I kind of hope they ran out of plastic cups because if they think a paper one is okay for an iced beverage, that's ridiculous. I went here for the first time this weekend and the employees were very nice and friendly. The coffee was also great! Unfortunately, when I asked if any of their pastries were vegan (severe lactose allergy) they assured me that some of their loafs were vegan. I knew after the first bite that it was not and had a severe allergic reaction. I should have told them it was an allergy and none of the pastries on the shelf had any labels or allergen warnings/dietary restrictions (ex. Vegan, GF, etc.). I was hoping that simply asking would be feasible, but unfortunately it was not, and got very, very sick. In no way do I want to get any of these lovely employees in any kind of trouble, I just wish that there were better standards and caution when it comes to dietary needs and warnings. Yay! So happy to welcome this new location of Milk & Pull to Ridgewood! This beautiful and spacious coffee shop has so much to offer: lots of seating, a simple drinks menu, and delicious sandwiches, pastries, donuts (from Dough), and bagels. Yum. The Borough Park sandwich (lox, capers, onions, tomatoes, cream cheese) is only $6.50 and is probably the best lox deal in Ridgewood. The veggie sandwich is also a great choice. The staff is friendly, the wifi is aplently, what's not to love?! Tried a soy chai, and it definitely passes the taste test (nothing spectacular, but it meets the mark. Would drink again). The parfait is also good and loaded with lots of granola (you can add banana or honey for extra $$$). Oh, they can get a bit crowded and run out of pastries pretty quickly, but just get there early and you'll be good. read more

I am giving plus one star just because the owners were awesome and smart enough to open up this location. There I was fussing with a generously stuffed bag of Stumptown coffee when I hear "are you looking for the roasting date?" I look over surprised and pleased as I replied "yes" to which this young woman replies by lifting up a larger bag from under the espresso machine and says "July 2nd"- 2 days before - So, I am like, "UH okay, this is what I am talking about #iloveyou" as I strolled to the cash register to get a sweet little latte. I said, "so uh... I don't have a grinder - it is on it's way in the mail" - to which she replied, "hmm, let's see, I can grid up half of this bag...How much do you want be to ground and what kinda brewing are you doing...? etc." My, oh, my this woman speaks my language... Cute little coffee shop around the corner from my apartment! I've been here a couple of times and have never been disappointed. The staff is friendly and they have a pretty nice menu. They cover the standard coffee shop beverages, but my favorite aspect is their array of bagel sandwiches and pastries. I've tried a few bagel sandwiches and I've loved every one--they're very well packed and delicious! Also, they offer an array of milk and milk alternatives which is a plus for many. I've heard that it's sometimes difficult to grab a table, but I've never run into that issue. Definitely a cute place to get work done or hang out with friends. Their sandwiches are interesting mixing from the "Everything on Everything" with Cream Cheese, Avocado, Tomato, Onions and Cucumbers to the more traditional "Borough Park" which is their play on a Lox/Cream cheese sandwich. Their interior is very hipster Brooklyn. Exposed brick, wooden shelves, with a mismatch between white tables, iron chairs and a random wooden family style table. Cool stuff. The people who tend to be at this coffee shop makes Ridgewood seem like Bizarro world. People I've never seen in the neighborhood just spawning to this new coffee shop. Their staff is always wearing gloves, and hats which is a plus. When there are no customers lined up they'll be keeping the shop clean by mopping and sweeping on the regular. Some of the tables could be cleaned when previous guests leave, but besides that their cleanliness is on point compared to a lot of other coffee shops. They're not a "Work From Home" coffee shop friendly kinda place. With only 1 outlet in the corner to keep your computer charged, you'll have to get here early to make sure you can stay powered throughout the day. Also their wifi sucks. It consistently goes in and out, so if you're considering on "working from home" or "Working from coffeeshop" and need internetz make sure you bring your phone to teather, or else you'll be upset with all the constant disconnects. It would be easier if they list the fios internet password on a card or something instead of always having to ask for it... btw Wifi Passcode = 778seneca The music is cool, and isn't too loud PLUS it's really awesome to see the J.Cole doppelganger guy rapping lyrics on any song playing on the radio that has a break beat. The bathroom is easily accessible. High ceilings and very large space. Unfortunately a large space encourages the stay at home dad's to come out with their 1 and 2 year olds and let's them run all over the place, so make sure you bring a pair of headphones so you don't go crazy with the kids running around. They tend to run out of goods daily, so if you're planning to grab a bite make sure it's earlier in the day or at least an hour or two before they close else there's a good chance the food wont be in stock. read more

Had the worst almond croissant here, actually the worst croissant in general. It was super stale and hard like a rock; it felt and tasted a few days old. I was so hungry and excited to have this and am so disappointed. If I hadn't already left the shop and hopped on the bus, I would have returned it. I've been here twice so far. The bagel sandwiches are pretty good and filling. The first time I went, I had the egg salad bagel sandwich and the second time I had the turkey chiptole sandwich. Both did not disappoint, but prepare yourself to be a little messy while eating it. Both had avocado slices, that I'd recommend maybe to cut into chunks instead because they we're slippery keeping in the sandwiches. Oh, and there's donuts available that they get from a local donut shop, Dough. As for the drinks, I had a cold brew the first day and that was good. The second time, I had the cappuccino and its just how I like it. It's not too milky and great to sip on. I don't rate based on availability of seating, but it wasn't too crowded both times I went, which was late afternoon and early Sunday day. I can't say what it's like during the week in morning or early afternoon. I do think that the layout of the seating is a little messy and unorganized in appearance. There's a cute booth in the back, but there's a trash can right next to it. However, they do try to have as much seating as possible in the space they have, which is great.
