    Turkey sandwich
    Ellie H.

Amazing food, and really nice to sit outside. They also have hot sauce packets, which was something I left home with. I really love the sandwich it had pickles, mayo, micro greens, and turkey. I'm definitely gonna be going back.

Fully Loaded with the potato roll- highly recommend

One of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had in New York this year. It does take a little while, as their posters indicate and warn you in advance, but that's because you see them making it fresh right in front of you. The flavors pack a bunch and I'm excited to return back.

Very friendly service. I really enjoyed the peanut butter chocolate chip cookie. Coffee is good buti wish it was stronger. They sell biscuits and sandwiches as well. I woke go back. Mera's Tip: cookies

I really enjoyed my visit to this charming cafe. It's located in Ridgewood (Queens). I ordered a spicy bacon on an everything bagel roll, with microgreens instead of spinach due to my allergy. They were able to accommodate my request. The sandwich was incredibly flavorful. I look forward to returning to try more of their delicious sandwiches in the future.

Very solid breakfast sandwiches, the bacon egg and cheese is legendary. Dripping with flavor (and grease), nothing hits better when you're hungover. Coffee is pretty good too. It's a smaller shop with no indoor seating and only 2-3 tables outside. Other downsides are the wait times can be a bit longer during busy times, and the prices are quite high for the neighborhood.

The other day, my wife shared a list with me from Timeout of the coolest neighborhoods in the world. Listed number 4 was Ridgewood in Queens. As someone who reps Queens all the time, I all of a sudden felt guilty for always overlooking Ridgewood as a place folks should check out. I immediately made it a priority to grab a bite somewhere in Ridgewood. Yelping helped us decide on checking out Norma's Corner Shoppe. I am very happy we made that choice! We decided to show up there on a Sunday afternoon around 1:30 pm. From the outside you can immediately tell the place is pretty small. They have a few tables outdoors and no seating inside. We got lucky that we found a table outside in a corner where we could also park our baby stroller. On the inside, the place is very simplistic and cute. The line was very orderly and folks did a great job of cramming inside to wait to place their order. Something that really made me appreciate how great their customer service is was that a young lady in front of me had a very loud and expletive emotional outburst because they were feeling anxiety around what to order, and the staff were very patient and understanding because I think they understood that the person may have special needs. Another thing that stood out to me in a good way was how racially diverse the staff are. The food and drink menus are posted by the register. Their selection of sandwiches are very diverse and unique. They also had a diverse menu of options for your drink. If you get a drink, you have to wait inside, which is a bit challenging because it gets really crowded in there. If you order food, they come outside and look for you to give it to you. I ordered the New Yorker, which was very very good! I love how they toasted the bread and the spicy bacon was really on point. I also got Norma's Ole coffee which was very well balanced. I also got two of their baked goods, banana chocolate muffin and peanut butter cookie, which also had really great flavor and texture. There was a miscommunication related to my order, and they gave my wife a Ranchero on the house, which was deeply appreciated and acknowledged with an extra $10 tip! I really loved my experience here, and I definitely plan to make more trips to Ridgewood to see if Timeout is on to something.

Spicy Bacon Sandwich and Passionfruit Lemonade

I ordered ahead, and my food was ready by the time I walked there. My sandwich was very tasty, and the spicy bacon lived up to its name. My passion fruit lemonade was just the right balance of tart and sweet. Service was pretty straightforward for a strictly takeout place. You can sit outside like I did at one of the tables and enjoy the neighborhood ambiance. However, now that it is getting colder, I'll probably enjoy my next meal from Norma's on my couch

Great breakfast sandwich selections. Only outdoor seating. Gets packed during brunch hours during weekends. Sandwiches take 10-15 to make.

Located on the corner of Catalpa and Forest, Norma's Corner Shoppe offers biscuits, bagels, sandwiches, pastries, coffee, and other beverages. We came here for an earlier breakfast, and ordered: +a Ranchero on a Scallion Cheddar Biscuit - came with egg, spicy black bean spread, house salsa, and cheddar; the biscuit was pretty generous in size and crumbly, had a strong scallion taste to it; I thought this sandwich was just okay, but the hubs, who was super hungry, scarfed it down! +a Mixed Berry Muffin - homemade, and filled with raspberries and blueberries - this was a nice little treat, as the muffin was moist and filled with plenty of raspberries and blueberries; definitely on the smaller end for the size I think I may want to try their bagel sandwiches the next time. Staff here was friendly and was willing to make recommendations on their favorites. There is definitely a wait to get your order, though, as this place does get busy. There is no seating inside, but there are limited tables circling around their place to dine al fresco. A few blocks from the Forest stop. +Mixed Berry Muffins +friendly staff +limited al fresco seating

How adorable and cozy Norma's Corner Shoppe is. We were there randomly for a quick breakfast fix and we had Chocolate Mocha Bundt , Raspberry Loaf and 2 cups of latte. Both cakes were amazingly delicious and satisfying. The texture was soft & puffy and the frosting was rich & creamy. The latte was not a surprise but it's decent and refreshing. My friends told us their Biscuit Sandwich is really good and we will definitely visit again to try it.

Does anyone happen to know whether any of the current menu items are vegan or veganizable? They use the "vegan options" icon, but then give no info on the actual menu. Thanks!

They always have a few vegan baked goods like the lemon bars and grassroots bars (both very good !).

A friend recommended it to me, and I've already ordered two birthday cakes from here. The tiramisu cake was absolutely delicious, honestly one of the best I've ever had. I didn't even know you could customize a tiramisu cake since it's usually served the traditional way, but they made it exactly how I wanted. As someone who loves tiramisu, this really stood out. I also ordered a strawberry shortcake, and it was just as impressive. The buttercream was so good , light, flavorful, and not overly sweet. Everyone loved it, and there wasn't a single slice left. The owner's son (I believe) was super helpful, he really takes the time to understand what you want and brings it to life perfectly. I've also tried their croissants, which are huge and delicious, and the hero bread is excellent too. Just a heads-up: they only accept cash.I'll definitely be ordering all my cakes from here moving forward!

This bakery has…read morebeen around to more than 40 years and I remember growing up always having this for our family birthday parties. It has actually been a while since I've had it and my friend made a special request specifically for strawberry shortcake for her 50th birthday. Du Bois for the first place that came to mind. Took a quick look online from pics from previous customers and was surprised to see the number of different designs they can do now. I picked this pink flower one that the owner made out of fondant and it was so pretty and exceeded my expectations. There was no additional charge at all. Back in the days....40 years ago, there was one style I remember getting and it was white cream with strawberries. Now there's so many you can pick from. The birthday girl was so happy with the design. I ordered a 20 person cake. There were 2 choices-round or sheet cake. Round is $60 which is what I opted for since I thought it looked prettier and the sheet cake is $50. The round cake actually came out very tall but gorgeous. Harder to cut too since it was taller. The owner was so nice. He custom made the top of the cake box to make sure the cake fit and doesn't get damaged. The fresh cream on the cake is so good. Not too sweet and very light. Perfect with the strawberries. The cake part was moist and yummy. I forgot how much I love this cake. All the nostalgic memories of eating it when I was younger came back. Honestly, I think it's even better than I remember. And the price was so reasonable for such a beautifully decorated cake.

Our dinner there tonight was perfect! We ordered chicken wings, french fries, and pork soup dumplings for our kids. For my husband and me, we enjoyed the pork combo, the crispy watercress salad and Batagor (fried fish cake, fried tofu, fried wontons and fried potato with peanut sauce on the side in case our kids wanted any). Our most memorable and refreshing dish was the Crispy Watercress Salad. Who knew watercress could be fried!?! lol We will definitely be ordering again next time as well as recommending to others. This dish was refreshing and light. Loved every bite! The pork combo was a combination of roast pig, sausage slices, fried slices of fish cake, etc. with rice and soup on the side. Easily the ideal lunch for one person or to share with someone! The Batagor was very fun to eat because it reminded me of fondue but with peanut sauce. I loved dipping the fried fish cake, fried tofu, fried wonton and fried potato in the yummy peanut sauce. This night was delicious and the perfect family dinner for us. With tax and 20% tip, total was about $145 and change. A little steep for family dinner but it was about right considering the raising cost of groceries. We considered it our New Year dinner. Eaton Cafe definitely gets two thumbs up from me and my Yummylicious Stamp of Approval! Happy New Year everyone!
