These Fillipino Buns were OK!! Not worth the hype!! At least they take credit cards!! Service was good! Cute little store & Ambiance was nice!! Plenty of seating as well!!

Nice little spot for fresh filipino baked goods. Came in around 1245 and unfortunately most of their I've flavored baked goods were sold out or until later in the afternoon. Plenty of seating for a little meetup and catch up. Would like to come in again and try some of their other baked goods. The torta is their version of a mamon and it is not as spongy, but definitely more dense

The ube cheese bread was AMAZING. It was hard to get a seat at first because there was a massive party of people. But the food was absolutely worth it. Maybe Im not a fan of the cakes, but the bread was simply spot on. Would definitely go back to get more of the bread.

This is a small Filipino bakery located in Elmhurst. I heard about them as I was trying to find Ube cakes. And I'm really glad I did because I loved the cake! I can definitely taste the Ube flavor and would definitely love to get it again!

When you have a sweet tooth, most important part of a birthday dinner is the dessert. I was surprised with this whole Ube Cake from Kape't Torta for my birthday cake and it did not disappoint! Ube is one of my favorite flavors and unfortunately, there aren't many starts that sell whole Ube cakes in Queens, luckily, my siblings were able to find this place! It was very simple as you can just call in to place the order ahead of hand and pay when you pick it up! The writing was written neatly and the flavor was perfect! It was nicely sweet but not too sweet and you can actually taste the favor of the uber through the cake and the frosting. I will definitely be grabbing a slice here and there (they sell the cake by the space as well!) when I am around Elmhurst! Definitely a must go for Filipino dessert lovers!

Have tried the Pork Asado Bun which was okay. What I like to get at Kape't Torta is the coffee and the Ube Cheese Pandesal. The soft purple bun with cheese and ube. Will get those again. Also tried the Pan de Coco, very tasty with shredded coconut went well with the coffee, but it was a tad too sweet for me. Current pricing of both the Ube Cheese Pandesal and Pan de Coco were $1.50 each. There were chairs and table you can sit and enjoy your treats. Staff was nice and friendly. Will be back to try the ube cake and other desserts.

I happened to be near this tiny bakery, and, based on other reviews, decided to give it a try. It turned out to be a good decision! Having never had Filipino deserts, I went with a variety. I tried a slice of Ube Cake, of course. It was light and less sweet than I expected. The cake was spongy and the icing was smooth. I'd definitely have it again. I also tried two different pandesal, the cheese and the ube cheese varieties. These are basically buns with cheese in the middle and were also quite tasty! The space, while tiny, had seating for a dozen, and had a nice vibe. Service was great too. I'd definitely recommend checking Kape'r Torta out.

Ube Cheese Pandesal- Left. Excellent. Nice mix of salty and sweet. Right- Pan De Coco. Tasty. A tad sweet maybe. Would be good with coffee

I was walking back (I believe from the nearby Lahi or some other nearby place) and passed by this small little Filipino bakery. The people inside were nice and while I was interested in the ube cake, I decided to just go with two of the small buns as I was just in the mood for a little snack. I got two buns; the Ube Cheese Pandesal and the Pan De Coco which were $1.50 each. In general, both buns were both soft with a good texture. The pandesal was my preference of the two. There was a bit of floral sweetness from the ube while the cheese inside was slightly salty and the bun had a good chew overall. They contrasted well and I can see why they are popular. The coco was a tad sweet though it had a nice buttery outside. I could see it going perfectly with some coffee or tea and it was still good though and cheap as noted. Good little place. I would go back in the area and get a slice of their excellent looking ube cake.

Warm and fresh. We waited for the fresh ube cheese pandesal to come out and they are so worth it! Creamy inside with the ube. The cheese brings in umami and depth of flavor. And it's so soft and melt in your mouth. The Spanish bread is also delicious!!!

First time trying this little bakery and It did not disappoint. We love their freshly brewed coffee and the sweets. Torta is delicious. Ube cake flan is not too sweet, the cake is dense and moist. Good kind! The kuya is very friendly and gracious to answer all my questions. Reasonably priced. Theres table and chairs to enjoy your desserts. Nothing fancy, just basic.

This Filipino bakery is a must visit if you're looking to treat yourself to some great sweets or just need a coffee break. The ube flan, ube ensayamada, and mango cake are out of this world 15/10! The pan de coco and other pan (bread) options are just as good, perfectly complimenting the coffee they offer (among other amazing drinks). Just to note, the sweets are not overwhelmingly sweet, they're just right. The place has a few seats and is small, but it's clean, inviting, and not too packed.

Incredible one of the best Filipino bakeries in the city. Tried their freshly baked ube cheese bun which is one of the best pastries I have ever had. The cheese has a very sweet but pronounced taste to it. 10/10 The ube flan was not too sweet also tasted a little stale... I can imagine what a fresh would be like. 8/10 still was pretty great The ube cake was the star... fluffy and mouth watering. 11/10. Don't walk run here

Samah I.

Amazing family owned Filipino bakery with very affordable slices of cake and other Filipino baked goods. Came for the ube cake and it was fantastic, cold and at room temp. At room temp it was bouncy, fluffy and melt in your mouth. Cold it was a lot firmer like a more dense chiffon cake. Great ube flavor throughout and a sweet light whipped cream frosting. Absolutely coming back for the mango cake and more of that ube cake next time!

The chicken barbecue sticks were flavorful and enjoyable. Unfortunately, the lumpia Shanghai didn't quite hit the mark for me :( it tasted like it was fried in older oil, and the filling was very minimal, so it felt like mostly wrapper. I was most excited to try the pork sinigang. While the broth had good flavor, the pork didn't taste freshly cooked and came across as if it may have been made a day or two prior. Overall, I really liked the vibe of this place and the friendly service, which makes me hopeful that my next visit will be better. I'd definitely be open to giving it another try.

My Filipino friends recommended this place so we all came on a Friday night for dinner. The restaurant is located right on Roosevelt Ave under the 7th train so it is very hard to find parking. We saw double parkers everywhere. Our reservation was for 7 pm and when we got seated there were only 2 other small groups inside. The restaurant has a Kamayan special for $275 that comes with soda, unlimited rice, vermicelli noodles, vegetables, mussels, shrimp, giant fried Calamari, pork fist, bbq pork, chicken, fried fish. They prep the whole course on banana leaves on a wooden board near the kitchen before carrying it out and placing it onto our tables. The special is meant for 6-8 people which I think it's more for 5-7 depending on the group - if they're light or heavy eaters. The Kamayan spread was not just pleasant to the eyes, but delicious! Everything was so good and flavorful and perfectly crispy. My favorites are the crispy calamari, bbq pork, and mussels. My friends and I also ordered drinks that are not included in the special: the Weng Weng, the Red Horse, Avocado Smoothie, Mango Smoothie, and Ube Smoothie. The Weng Weng is their signature cocktail which reminds me of a better Malibu Bay Breeze. The Red Horse is the main beer in the Philippines which is pretty light and I don't really taste the after beer taste. The smoothies are all so creamy and good. My favorite would have to be the mango which reminds me of a mango lasi. I liked the ube better than I expected, but the avocado had a weird taste to it. We were so full from the spread and smoothies that we had no room for dessert. By the time we finished, the place was packed because at 9 pm there's open karaoke as well as live performances. I also caught a whif of the sisig on my way out and it smelled sooooo good. Would definitely be back for the mango smoothie, giant calamari, to try the sisig and halo halo. Service was great too! They always came to check on us from time to time and gloves were provided for the Kamayan spread if you didn't want to use your bare hands.

I came in a party of 20+ guests doing a Kamayan and they were able to accommodate us pretty easily. You can get Kamayan platters for 2, 4, 6, or 8 people so you can order for any group size. It was our lucky day. The servings encourage family style. Which is great when you have a big group you can try various dishes. We ordered the crispy pata. A dish we dont make at home are come across very often. It was perfectly crispy down to the bone. There was great flavor to the skin. And the meat still remained juicy and tender. The pork BBQ sticks. Slamming. Period. It was my aunts birthday so we got pancit noodles to symbolize long life. It was surprisingly really flavorful. For drinks we had calamansi juice hot and cold. Doesn't taste like it was from an old bottle. Really refreshing and soothing. My daughter loves the melon juice. Not handicap accessible and will need to walk up a flight of stairs to get to the dining area. Be mindful for those who aren't as mobile. Food was so good we even went downstairs to the take out counter to order more food to share the wealth with my parents.

All the meats were smoky and well seasoned and cooked appropriately. It was a ton of food for a great price. We also enjoyed their fresh juice (they have several types and you can see them making them behind the counter). Renee's is clearly a neighborhood spot where the locals flock. It was crowded and busy, but felt like the best kind of hole in the wall. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. Other options on the menu: all the aforementioned BBQ meats in various iterations, grilled squid, grilled fish, grilled eggplant. They also have filipino classics involving fried eggs and rice. Fried sardines, fried milkfish. They have Filipino spaghetti (ground beef, hot dogs, melted cheese). Various sautéed noodle dishes. Soups and Filipino stews. Large seafood section as well. It felt like you were eating at someone's house. BBQ meat was slightly sweet and well marinated. The fried sampler was heavenly especially paired with the various dipping sauces from bagoong to spicy. Dinuguan was savory and paired well with white rice, don't be intimidated because it says it's a pork blood stew. The oxtail Kare Kare was tender and loved the peanut butter sauce.
