As stated before, I finally came back to try the savory foods from Tea Cup Cafe! Starting off, my fiancé ordered the Crispy Fish. The sauce that was served was absolutely delicious with the signature tanginess and sweetness of Thai food. The hot pot that I ordered was also enjoyed to the fullest! The food here was super good but also I love liver so I was glad they had a hot pot option that included that! After a delicious meal, we finished off with the mango bingsu which also was a huge hit! The bingsu was super fluffy and light! This meal was definitely worth it and didn't leave me feeling super heavy. The service was also great even though they were always full house with some parties waiting and only one person serving. I will be back next time to try their Thai barbecue which I saw people having and I could stop looking at! On top of all this, the server or manager even gave me a free Melona ice cream which I paired with the bingsoo after he saw that I was pregnant which I thought was super sweet. I don't live too far from here so I also want to add that even though I have not added a review, I always go to this restaurant to grab a coconut Thai milk tea to go (I am not even a huge Thai tea fan)! This is a cozy hole in the wall spot for amazing Thai food! The staff are really nice and the food is authentic. The bbq is perfect of small groups - you grill the meat on the top dome and the meat juices will fall into the soup that is around the rim. By the middle of the meal, the soup is so delicious!! We all could not stop drinking it. Also, there is a savory, slightly spicy sauce that pairs perfectly with the bbq meats. Mookata is super popular in Thailand so happy to find it in NY! A must order is the pandan toast - the milk bread is warm and soft and light. When dipped in the pandan sauce, the combo is just heavenly! Their appetizers are worth trying too! We tried the fish balls, chive cakes, and the E-San sausage. All of them were delicious and came with different sauces. The fan favorites were the chive cakes and the sausage! Limiting this review and rating to be for their desserts only, as we have not yet had a chance to try their other food. Stopped by for some quick dessert with my boyfriend's family after dinner nearby. The small cafe is unassuming from the outside, but screams authenticity as soon as you step in. The outdoor seating area is plastered with different menu items written in Thai (some with English translations, some without). It's the definition of no frills, but in a way that seems to promise you that the food will be absolutely delicious. I definitely want to come back to try their other food! As for dessert, my boyfriend and I split a condensed milk toast and thai iced tea. You really can't go wrong with condensed milk, sugar, and toast, so as expected, it was delicious. Cute space though I think it's more pleasant to go at night during the summer when it's cooler since it's open air and no AC even on the inside cuz they don't have a closed space. There is a 10 dollar per min per person if you eat in but I think it's reasonable esp during busy times when people drink or have desserts. I didn't ask them though if they would enforce it when there was no one there during the afternoon but my friends and I wanted to try a few things anyway. This is only for drinks/desserts- it was too hot to order their bbq or hot pot given the weather. The drinks were very good- milo brown sugar drink was excellent. Not too sweet and the boba wasn't round but firmer pieces of grass jelly that you can chew- pretty good and refreshing. The cappuccinos Oreo slush was super strong and good for coffee drinkers. The olvatine drink was tasty and malty. The only disappointment was the Thai rooty tooty- I felt like the Thai tea wasn't coming through and just tasted like vanilla with no real tea flavor to it. My husband and I had been meaning to try this place in a long time and today happened to be that day. We weren't too hungry but we had an hour to kill, so we sat down and ordered seafood tom yum noodle soup, chive cakes and the chicken wings. I tend to evaluate Thai restaurants based on how good the tom yum noodle soup is, and after the first bite, I was like WOW. It was one of the most flavorful, delicious tom yum soups I've ever had! Came here on a Friday afternoon and were seated right away. The space is pretty small and made the place feel extremely cozy and warm. There was one other person sitting at a booth nearby so we weren't the only ones in the place while there were several individuals who came through to grab takeout as well. We came here for lunch so didn't share any of their desserts, but I'd be curious to try those if I ever came by again. I got a fish dish and it was super tasty - crispy, well-flavored, and a large enough portion for one person for sure. I would definitely get it again! Some of the best food I've had in queens. I don't give 10/10 reviews so easily but everything tasted 10/10. The fish Tom yum soup (requested fish broth) was one of the best soups I've ever had. I wish I took a picture of it but I ate it right away. The spice level was perfect for someone who loves a good kick. The flavors were solid and tasted more on the authentic side compared to other Thai places I've tried. It was the perfect balance of savory, sweet, sour, and spicy. The fish tasted fresh in this dish as well as the fishcakes I got. And finally, the pandan toast was so so good we had to get another order of it. The price point made everything just better as well. A small bowl of soup was only $7 dollars and a large was $10. I loved that they gave the sizing options, making it more convenient and affordable for anyone eating on a budget. This mini cafe opens its door so fresh breeze can come in which didn't really make the seating and comfy any better with no AC and Fan. Their menu is on the chalkboard on the right side of the wall. If you order take out you go up and paid in the front. If you want sit in you go up to cashier order and then find yourself a seat, they will bring the food to you. What we order : Stewed Pork Noodle Soup: ($8.50) I got this with glass noodle. It was two pieces of stewed pork with mushrooms, bean sprouts, and yau Choi. The noodle soup tasted okay. Larb Pork Over Rice: ($8.50) ground pork with spice and uncook cabbage, onions and cucumbers. Dish was kind of spicy. I had better larb Pork elsewhere. Toasted bread with Pandan Custard: ($6) should eat this right away when it comes out or it will become hard later on. This was a good dessert. This place serves the best tom yum soup ever! The place looks like a regular cafe that I thought its just a typical place to hang out and drink some coffee or juice but actually its not. When I walk in I observed most people is eating some noodle soup so that means their food is a must try and we ordered the tom yum soup base on one person that I ask what shes eating. Yup, I ask because her food looks yummy. Their menu is pretty funny. You walk to the counter and its just a written menu opposite side of the counter then you order and seat then they'll just bring the food to the table. I came here a few weeks ago and I promised my friend I would write a review on this place because we had an extremely poor experience here. Each customer is required to order a dish and they forced us to order two items even though we were coming for dessert. We ordered a shaved ice and asked them to put the red beans in the dessert on the side because my friend does not like them. They did not listen to our order and it came out with red beans. We didn't send it back because my friend said she'd eat around them. I ordered a lychee bubble tea for our second dish and it was so sweet that it was undrinkable. I took one sip and did not drink anymore. The issue came when we got our bill. We saw we were charged for extra red beans. They argued with us that we had ordered extra red beans (!?) even though my friend had said she did not like them to the waiter. On the table, we had a dish of beans in a dish we had not eaten and had to put our foot down to get it taken of the bill. Would not recommend or go back to this establishment. read more

My warm toast tasted So Good (pandan is a flavorless leaf), combined with condensed milk and a hint of coconut. I took my toast and swirl it around the Pandan sauce and it was heaven at every bite. When I got home to eat my Tom Yum noodle soup, the spice level was way too hot for me to handle, couldn't even finish the bowl. I have been to Tea Cup Cafe a few times now. Since I am a vegetarian/pescatarian, I don't really have too many options. I tried their fish tom yum the first time. It was too spicy for me. I didn't end up finishing it. I ordered the pandan custard toast to ease the burning sensation in my mouth. I can eat decently spicy food but that tom yum was too much for me. The toast was BOMB DOT COM. It was so good that I think they got me addicted to it. I came back again for another two times after that to get the pandan toast. I cannot get enough of it. For those who love their real Thai spicy food and have no dietary restrictions. Tea Cup Cafe has a lot to offer. For example, their noodles are very good. Do try their duck noodles and boat noodles. You will be addicted to it as well. :D If you are looking for a fancy/ intimate place to take your date, this place is casual and nothing special about it but cute for a weekend afternoon chat. Came here on the night of my bday to try something new and have fun at a place with my nickname! Unique, it certainly is. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was great to find out. My boo and I walked down 77th St and the side of the awning says coffee shop, but that does not mean you're at the wrong place. Turn to the right 90° and it says Tea Cup Café! Upon entering, the space is small but welcoming. There is anroma, but I couldn't tell what from. My best guess is the kitchen. To the right are tables with stools and bench wall seating. Directly in front of you looks like a greeter booth, but it's where they stow away the electronics so you can enjoy your meal with beautiful music. On the wall above the customers are blackboards with the menu items. Some of the foods are labeled in such a way that one still has no idea what it is. But, the girls behind the counter are able to help you make a decision. There are lots of noodle soups with your choice of meat. And lots of bubble teas which are organized by milk bubble teas and green bubble teas. I had the Thai bubble tea and it most definitely complimented the beef and egg noodle soup I ordered. Btw, you get to choose your noodles from a small list. I thought that was cute and fun. Directly at the far end on the wall are desserts and sweet happenings. To the left is sort of a picnic bar area. They have the napkins, straws, utensils, etc alongside the counter. Part of the counter area is where you can place your order. Behind the counter on the wall is another blackboard with breakfast items. I kind of wish I did that, but I'm also glad for my unique experience. The food: So, if you're interested in trying new things in one dish this place is for you. The beef and egg noodle soup has a dark brown stock with three types of beef lurking in it. The egg noodles were yumm. I found beef meat, beef organs, and beef sausage in my soup! I fed my sausage pieces to my boo. He liked them. They also added some scallions and green stalks that I couldn't tell what vegetable it was from, but I'm thinking it might be broccoli. I can't say that I was pleased by the triple threat soup. It was a unique and interesting experience. I only really liked the beef meat part of the three. I ate as much beef liver as I could stomach. The Thai bubble tea really helped me out with that in battling against the taste. I'm afraid to eat anything with the label of sausage or bacon even if it's not created from a pig! Also, the more soup you consume or ingest the saltier the broth becomes. Thai bubble tea helped with that until I just couldn't and wouldn't slurp up any more. My boo got the duck and (not fried) vermicelli noodles soup. I noticed he had duck meat, duck skin, duck organs, and tofu! I tried a piece of the duck meat but it was too gamey for me. We also had the option of ordering a medium or large bowl for the soups. We both chose medium. My boo, (un)fortunately was served with a large bowl despite his original request. I'd definitely come back for some bubble tea, maybe try a dessert or breakfast item, but no soup for me! Afterwards, we walked out into the frigid weather and took a short walk through the area. I've been coming to Tea Cup Cafe since they opened in 2012! They started off with a simple menu of coffeeshop items and have since expanded the menu to highlight the owners' love and expertise to cook authentic Thai food. Currently the hot items are noodle soups, spicy rice dishes, and noodles with curry sauce. On my recent visit I tried the pork noodle soup with thin noodles and was blown away. This is one of my favorite Thai noodle soups and this is one of the top versions I've ever tried. Another one of my favorites is the tom yum noodle soup which I'm going to try on my next visit. Because you can't leave here without trying one or more of their desserts, I also got the pandan filled crepe, the mountainous shaved chocolate (Ovaltine) shaved ice , and a watermelon juice . My favorites are the cold desserts! Their shaved ice desserts are the best! Other desserts they do well that are served hot are the toasted breads and the pandan custard!!! I love that their custards are homemade from scratch. Quality food at quality prices for those who are in a rush or want to lounge in the cozy shop. There's no waiter service - you order, pay, pick-up food, eat, and go. I'm so glad this is more than just an after-dinner spot (at least that what it was for me). Now savory items by the talented owners can be enjoyed as well. The cafe is open late and worth the trek to Queens and to this neighborhood which is evolving into a mini Thai town. I would rate Tea Cup Cafe four and a half stars. I ordered the fish tom yum. This soup is the Thai version of a Japanese ramen or a Vietnamese pho. The soup had a mild flavor. There were some hints of celery. I ordered it with medium spiciness and the spiciness level was just right. I'm not sure which pepper was used but I definitely felt it in my sinus since I used 6 napkins. There were a lot of ingredients in the soup including fish cakes, green onions, bean sprouts, and plenty more. The soups were very reasonably priced at under $10 for most of them. read more
