    Steak Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen

Pulled up to Seichou Ramen in Elmhurst and I'm officially claiming it as my new favorite spot. Portions so big I felt like they were daring me to tap out... but I don't fold for noodles. First off -- this place is CLEAN clean. Like "Mom's coming over so scrub everything twice" clean. And the staff? Elite. My server Love lived up to the name: super friendly, on point with the recommendations, and checked on me like she already knew I was about to demolish the menu. Started with the Ikageso -- deep fried squid legs with chipotle mayo. Cooked so perfectly I almost proposed to the plate. Then the Pork Katsu Curry hit the table... fried panko pork, Japanese curry, rice -- easily one of the best curries in NYC. I legit wanted to stand up and give it a slow clap. Finished with the Pork Belly Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen. Thin noodles, scallion, memma, that ajitama egg, pork belly char siu, black garlic... every spoonful felt like a motivational speech. I was ready to conquer life after that. And the strawberry lemonade? Perfect. Sweet, refreshing, and made me feel like a responsible adult drinking something pink with confidence. This place is a true gem in the area. Highly recommend -- and I'm already planning my next round. #elmhurst #queenseats #nyceats #nychiddengems #ramenlover #japanesecurry #ramenlife #tonkotsuramen #foodadventure #nycfoodie #fooddiary #bigportions #porkkatsu #blackgarlicramen #strawberrylemonade #foodiesofinstagram

This cute little store serve modern Japanese ramen with modern appetizers as well which was perfect to greet a friend that had just returned from Japan! The drinks came out first and were nicely tart and sweet which was perfect because all of the foods ordered were all on the savory side. We got all of the appetizers pretty quickly and they were all delicious and devoured within seconds. Then we started receiving the main dishes which were the gyudon which was just your basic gyudon. The spicy tonkotsu ramen which was nicely spicy. And the star of the show, the creamy shrimp udon which had nice bouncy udon noodles and was definitely nice and creamy. The staff was attentive but we came during diner rush so she did get a little busy but she was super sweet. We will be back again to try more items from the menu.

I came on a Friday afternoon and was the only one there. It's nice to have another ramen spot in the neighborhood. They have lunch sets from Monday to Friday 12-3pm. I got Set A with Basic Tonkotsu and Gyoza for $17 and Thai Iced Tea for $5. The broth was flavorful and the noodles had a nice, firm texture. The gyoza were a bit sweet for my liking. The portion was satisfying. I prefer the tea to be stronger. Server was nice.

Craving ramen? Live close by and don't want to go far? Stop by Seichou Ramen! Unassuming restaurant ran by a small team (from what I saw). Seichou Ramen feels like a passion project. Everything tastes and feels like it was homemade from a singular person. We ordered the Karaage Chicken, Ikageso (fried squid legs), Black Garlic Tonkotsu and Spicy Tonkotsu. The chicken and squid legs were crispy! Fresh and seasoned extremely well. The sauce is tasty and with a squeeze of lemon on everything, the dishes become so bright. The Black Garlic Tonkotsu broth was light and not overpowering. The flavor was mellow but felt natural, if that makes sense lol. The Spicy Tonkotsu broth was similar but that spicy oil provided a hefty punch of amazing flavor. The toppings were great for both! The chashu was cooked to perfection. Succulent and crisp, not too fatty or lean. No canned menma here! Ask for spicy powder if you want some extra umf to the dish. It's a good place to stop by. It really feels like a local spot that deserves some love.

this place doesnt look like much and only has the most standard ramen on their menu but once you taste it you ll know its the real deal. the black garlic actually has a noticeable flavor that adds depth to the tonkotsu. the server is very nice and portion is decent for the price.

Next on my list of possible Best Black Garlic Ramen is Seichou Ramen. It's a great sign when you walk in in the middle of the week and there's two Japanese individuals on the brink of drunk, complaining of what I assume is... corporate life? their evil twin stealing their wife? I dunno, I might be watching too many J-Dramas. The decor is that sleek light Japanese aesthetic with a pop of red festival lanterns. It's a nice clean vibe. I ordered what I came for and my friend decided to indulge in his curiosities and ordered the Khao Soi Ramen. That's right! A rife on Thai in a Japanese restaurant. It was buttery and rich and coconutty like an actual Khao Soi. Actually, it's basically a Khao Soi with ramen noodles. It was very well executed. Rich enough to hit that comfort food spot while not being too overpowering and coconutty enough to feel distinct. It is very worth checking out. I ordered some for my ex-wife to take home and she loved it. My friend and ex-wife have frequently visitied Bangkok btw, if that means anything. I was almost equally impressed with the Black Garlic Ramen. Did it wow me? No. But it did become a very solid option to quell my craving for a comforting soup. Expect us to come back.

Came here at the recommendation of friends with friends and we were very happy with dinner. Ordered an assortment of appetizers, and loved the wings, shrimp, squid, and more. For my main, I enjoyed a hearty flavorful bowl of Thai inspired khao soi styled chicken ramen with a chicken coconut milk broth that I slumped til the bowl was cleaned out. Two thumbs up!

Really good! Everything was yummy, ikageso was crispy and Kurobuta was tasty. The ramen tasted great and was not too salty, noodles were bouncy. Great service as well and nicely decorated interiors.

I found this place while searching on yelp for new places to check out in the area. When you look from the outside this place doesn't seem like much. When you're inside it's very modern and minimalstic. I'm not sure if this is supposed to feel like youre in japan. The waitress gave us the menu and I liked how it was just one laminated page front and back. It isn't complicated. Everything I ordered was great such as the tako wasabi which cleared up your sinuses with the taste of it. The Takoyaki wasn't so bad, but I only ate one of the balls. The server asked us which Ramen we wanted, and I got the spicy tonkotsu and since I can choose the spice level, I got it very spicy. It was very spicy but only in certain areas as it wasn't mixed well throughout. My friend ordered the black garlic tonkotsu which she enjoyed. Overall, it was good, but not over the top. I don't know if I would return as I've had better ramen in other spots.

    Esther L.

Ramen was the usual, nothing too spectacular or terrible, good if you're craving it. However the beef gyudon rice bowl was AMAZING like it was so good we ordered a second bowl just to eat more of it. Perfectly cooked and seasoned and flavored. Also the takoyaki was pretty good too, decent amount of filling unlike other places. Solid place and prices especially for the beef bowl and takoyaki in the area

I need this place to make it because I absolutely loved their Black Garlic Tonkotsu and I need to know I can eat this again whenever I want. We also got Tako Wasabi as an appetizer and a Spicy Tan Tan. I'm 100% serious when I say this place isn't just amazing by Queens standards, it's amazing by all of NYC standards. Their noodles are perfectly cooked, the broth is rich and well-balanced. I rarely finish the broth completely even at a good ramen spot but you can bet I finished it all here. The space is also spacious and lends to a calm dinner experience (great for catching up with friends or a date). The waitress was also so nice and service was quick! We were done with everything in less than 40 minutes. (This is also a great spot for those with younger kids as they have high chairs available.) I can't wait to come back and try more items on their menu!

BEST RAMEN I have had in nyc!!! The owners are so kind, the service was fast and everything we had was delicious. I highly recommend the khao soi ramen! There's a decent amount of seating and it's casual.

The particular weekend we went (July 5), the air conditioning unit was broken so we were melting inside. Wooden benches and stools with no backs were not comfortable. Spicy chicken wings (5/5): Perfect exterior skin crunch with not too much breading. The sauce was light and not overpowering. Deluxe (5/5) and TanTan (5/5) were both very flavorful. Slightly preferred the Tan Tan more because it had a kick and more spice. I requested some extra chili oil for the Deluxe to give it a little more flavor. On paper, this should've been a fun, izakaya-style spread. In reality, it all landed somewhere firmly in the "fine, I guess" category. The yakitori platter was the biggest letdown--nothing was outright bad, but everything felt a little lifeless. The meats leaned dry, the seasoning didn't quite hit, and even the bacon-wrapped items (which should be a guaranteed win) somehow came off underwhelming. The yaki ika was chewy without much depth beyond the sweet soy + mayo combo, and the takoyaki lacked that soft, almost molten center you want. Tonkotsu ramen (5/5): Pro move: ask for the thicker noodles (pic is original dish of thin noodles) This was a superb bowl of ramen! The broth is very umami with tons of depth, flavors, and creaminess. Noodles are the straight kind which has a little less bounce than I usually like but still plenty portioned to enjoy. The bowl comes with a lovely half soft boiled egg. The two large pieces of pork char sui were great--tender and flavorful. Reasonably priced bowl at $18 with some additional toppings like wood ear mushrooms, bamboo, green onions, and narutomaki. Definitely coming back here again to try their other bowls!! Pork belly buns (5/5): If you are already getting the pork belly in the ramen, this can be skipped since it's the same meat. However, the sauce was good and the meat is tender. It also comes with a small side of salad. Wagyu (5/5) - thin pieces of wagyu were very fresh and flavorful. The broth feels very soothing and lighter as it was but not as rich as the tonkotsu. I loved the pickled cucumber and cabbage. The thick noodles are perfectly bouncy and chewy. Shoyu Duck (4/5) - Light broth as I did not taste the undertones of duck in the broth.
