GOOD DAY YELPERS! Wasabi point is a great place if you want that real kick fiery flavor on your food I ordered their Tibetan style spicy chili chicken wings amazing ! and their pork Momo , the service was great and quick as I choose take out. ambiance can say much about it place was almost closing but the decor and lighting it looks like a chill place to have great convos in the evening also seems calm and relaxed. Hey I hope the restaurant doesn't mind a took these pics at home used my own style to take them

We were the only customer in this restaurant on a rainy cold Sunday for lunch. The service was great. I had read through the reviews and knew what I wanted to try before going to the restaurant. For three people, we got the - cheesy chicken soup, a side of ting mo, chili ribs, and an order of beef momos. The Bhutanese chicken cheesy soup $11 was spicy and so so good. The flavor was reminiscent of cheesy broccoli soup with lots of boneless thigh meat and green chili's. The ting mo ($2) were sliced and was very much like Chinese steamed buns. Fluffy and fought and great for dipping into the cheesy soup. The ribs $11 were made to be mild and it was fine for everyone. The ginger, scallion, garlic was great to go with the ting mo. The momos $9 are like soup dumplings but with thicker skin. It was fine but I liked the other two a bit more as they were more unique. Total was $34 and we were stuffed. Oh they also gave us a complimentary order of stirred fried garlicky bokchoy and broccoli! Delicious! I can foresee myself craving some of that cheesy chicken soup in the future.

Tibetan Cabbage Salad

I've never had HImalayan/Tibetan/Bhutanese food before and Wasabi Point was a great start! Ordered beef momos, Tibetan cabbage salad, house salad, thukpa with veggies, and sha datse, with a mango lassi, of course. The mango lassi and both salads were delicious and made a good starter. I felt like the ratio of dough to beef in the momos were too much so I wasn't a fan of those, but the Thukpa (basically thick noodles and veggies in soup with choice of meat/veggie) was yummy and the sha datse (chicken with peppers in a light cheese broth) blew me away. I want to eat datse every day, soooo good! It wasn't spicy for me at all so I added some hot sauce, but it was great without too. The broth was flavorful and tasted slightly similar to broccoli cheese soup, but for sure less thick and fattening. A few days later I ordered from their lunch menu and got the phing sha (clear noodle with beef and spinach), chicken and veggie, and veggie spring rolls with a choice of ting-mos. The phing sha and chicken/veggie dish were ok, but the spring rolls were good, made up of potatoes, carrot, and beansprouts. The tingmos were light and fluffy, like bread should be. Summary: Order the datse. Best thing ever!

Great place to have breakfast. The service is awesome and Mr. Dawa is friendly owner. I am coming back for second time . Thank you !

Totally serendipitous moment - walked in here because all the other restaurants were busy on Mother's Day. What a pleasant suprise - I never knew Himalayan/Tibetan cuisine was AWESOME! Everything has a perfect blend of spicy and savory and they offer a Japanese-style menu for those not inclined to try this wonderful taste of Asia. Why not just go to a Japanese restaurant? We ordered beef ribs, mixed veggies, dried chicken (trust me, it's GOOD) and beef datse and they all were great! And they have ICED BARLEY TEA. Oh yeah. A must try if you visit Elmhurst.

This restaurant is serving worst food ever, the cook is really careless, owner also didn't know what the customers complain about,,busy in counting money, they really doesn't care about the customers, I recommend every body to think before visit this restaurant,, check out pictures of food they served...

The receipt doesn't say Beef Momo. It actually says nothing about food!

I ordered beef momo (to go) via phone call. When I went to pick it up he told me $9.98. So I handed over my card and he charged me $12! When I questioned he says it's ok! I felt scammed. Haven't tasted the food yet but already disappointed.

Beef Chilly $11 - 5/5 stars. Sooo delicious. We got tingmo on the side as well

I came here twice and both times were great experiences. The food is delicious and service is on point as well. I enjoyed the beef chilly the most! Momos were pretty juicy as well but momo skin/dough was a little too thick.

Mango lassi: love it! Taste like mango yogurt drink. Don't get it if you don't like a little sourness to it

Don't let the name fool you! Although it says "Wasabi point", it does not mean they are a Japanese restaurant. My boyfriend tried to order sushi but they were always out during their first year of business. My boyfriend was not happy, he wanted sushi. When ever we pass by he would say how bad this place and how the name is stupid because it doesn't make sense when there's no sushi. He then took notice that on their menu there was TIBETAN food, fascinated with their "spicy beef", he ordered it. May I say it was the best spicy beef dish we ever had!, the flavor were just dancing in our mouth. thick cuts of beef with peppers. also try the chicken appetizer, it is amazingly good! so perhaps this saying can go for restaurant as well " Never judge a book by its covers". Good food, nice friendly service. So whats the tip? DO NOT order Japanese food and then go on writing stupid reviews... Instead give their traditional Tibetan food a try, ask for whats good, you won't be disappointed. PROS: Good food, good service, nice cozy atmosphere. Price just right CONS: The name pf the restaurant will confuse the crap out of people....

spare ribs
Katherine C.

Ordered what the other Yelpers recommended and the food did not disappoint! :) Spare ribs (appetizer): I thought they would be American-style (not sure why) but it's more like the spare ribs you get at a Chinese place. Spicy but not too spicy (I almost wish they were more spicy). No matter, they were tasty! Sha datse: You normally don't see cheese in Asian soups so this was interesting and, again, tasty. I liked the little kick the peppers gave the soup. I gave the leftovers to my lil and she liked it as well! Mango lassi: Freaking addictive... I joked with the bf that we should add some soju in it and get him crunk. Ting mo: They reminded me of montaus (Cantonese for this kind of plain steamed bread), which I like. The bf, not so much. I just used it to dip into the sauce that the spare ribs had. Really glad this meal worked out because it was bit of a bolder move for us. The total was about $27 without tip. So, yes, a good bill for a stuffed, happy couple. We took all the leftovers home!

I've never had Tibetan food before but this place seemed very authentic. The Japanese food seemed a bit random so we stuck with the Tibetan menu. For appetizers, we ordered the Beef Momos which were pretty much beef dumplings, and a chicken soup. The beef dumplings weren't anything crazy but not bad. The chicken soup tasted like egg drop soup. For entrees we ordered the chow mein noodles and mutton curry. The chow mein noodles weren't anything special, just lo mein but the mutton curry was very delicious and full of flavor. It was hands down the best dish that we ordered. I think we would definitely come back to try some of the other dishes. There were things that other tables ordered that looked very delicious. It was a little difficult communicating with our server, especially when we were asking for recommendations.

Ema Datsi (cheese broth with beef and peppers)
Sherry B.

My boyfriend and I ordered Ting-mo (steamed bun) that we dipped into the cheese broth because it was a bit dry. These were so-so. I really enjoyed the Ema Datsi (thick cheese broth with beef and peppers) with rice. We also ordered: -- Beef momos (which are similar to beef soup dumplings) -- Chicken with potato (shoe string fries with chicken and pepper) -- Spare ribs (a bit spicy, but still good) This is the first time I've tried Tibetan food. I would definitely come back for the ema datsi! Food was good. Service was excellent.

Ema Datsi! Doesn't look appealing, but trust me, get it!

969 NYC Coffee - Beef Onigirazu (~$10)

4/5 food 2/5 service…read more This is a quiet, cash-only spot. I came here to do some work, and get a small snack. I came in around 1:30 on a Tuesday afternoon. It was dead empty with the exception of one person waiting for their to-go order, and entire time I was sitting there eating and drinking, only three other customers came in. I walked up to the counter to see what the food options were (the onigiri is on display in a case, kinda like a deli shop), and the drink menu is up hanging up high in small print behind the counter. The cashier asked me immediately what I wanted and I told him I was still looking at the menu; he told me to call him over once I was ready so he didn't have to stand. Once I ordered, he asked me if I have cash and asked if they were cash only to which he said yes. Side note: if a shop is cash only, signs should be posted in multiple areas (on the door, at the counter, etc.), and this place did not have any signs. I got the salmon onigiri and a hot lemon ginger honey tea and it came to $8. The tea is from those pre-made jars that you can purchase at any Asian market. The onigiri was very tasty and the rice was very soft. One of the better ones I've had in NYC. After I ordered, I saw a "no laptops" sign tucked away in the corner. So there went my plans of working in a quiet shop, though I did hop on a zoom meeting for an hour on my phone. I made it work. This is a cute spot for grab-and-go, though the service could use improvement. And considering there are no customers, I don't know why there's no laptop rule.

The owner was super friendly, welcoming and just the type of person that makes you want to visit again. Food: wanted to try their sushi but they ran out. The owner said he only makes a certain amount for the day and once they run out, he doesn't make more. I had the calamari sandwich and the pork sandwich. Both very tasty but a bit overpriced for my opinion. $10 for a pork sandwich seems a bit much. They really need to update the online menu because it says $5 on it so was quite shocked when I got there and saw the price. All in all, it is a nice place to visit with great staff and yummy food but with that price, won't be going as often as I would like.

Even before the food arrives, the restaurant leaves a strong impression with its stunning Japanese-inspired interior. The space is beautifully designed, blending warmth and elegance in a way that feels both inviting and refined. From the soft lighting to the natural wood accents and thoughtfully arranged decor, everything about the atmosphere feels intentional. It captures the intimate charm of a traditional izakaya while still feeling modern and stylish, making it a wonderful setting for anything from a casual dinner to a more special night out. The food more than lived up to the beauty of the space. One of the first highlights was the salmon onigiri, a dish that proved how satisfying simplicity can be when it is done well. The rice was soft, fresh, and perfectly formed, holding together without feeling too compact, while the salmon added a savory richness that made each bite feel comforting and flavorful. It was balanced, delicate, and deeply satisfying in a way that made it memorable despite its simplicity. The seared salmon salad was another standout. The salmon itself was beautifully prepared, with a lightly seared exterior that gave it a subtle crispness, while the inside remained tender, buttery, and smooth. That contrast in texture made the dish especially enjoyable. Paired with the freshness of the salad, it felt light and refreshing, yet still substantial enough to feel like more than just a side dish. It was a dish that managed to feel both clean and indulgent at the same time. The grilled squid was particularly impressive and easily one of the most memorable items of the meal. Squid can often be difficult to get right, as it can become rubbery or overly chewy if even slightly overcooked, but that was absolutely not the case here. The texture was spectacular--tender, delicate, and pleasantly springy without any toughness. Each bite had a light smokiness from the grill that added depth, while the squid itself retained its natural sweetness. It was expertly prepared and showcased a level of precision that really stood out. For the main courses, both the Tonkatsu Ramen and the Black Pepper Ramen delivered distinct experiences, each with its own appeal. The Tonkatsu Ramen was deeply comforting and satisfying, with a broth that had a rich, velvety texture and a full-bodied depth that coated the palate beautifully. It felt smooth, hearty, and luxurious without being too heavy. The noodles had an ideal texture as well--firm enough to provide a satisfying bite, yet soft enough to soak up the broth and integrate perfectly into the dish. Altogether, it was a bowl that felt warming, balanced, and incredibly comforting. The Black Pepper Ramen, on the other hand, brought a bolder and more assertive flavor profile. The broth had a smooth, glossy texture, and the noodles again had a pleasing chew that gave the dish structure and substance. The black pepper added an unmistakable warmth and aromatic intensity that made the ramen stand out immediately. It was flavorful and memorable, though the pepper was slightly overwhelming at times. A bit less black pepper would have allowed the other flavors in the broth to come through more clearly and created a more balanced bowl. Even so, the ramen was still enjoyable, especially for those who appreciate strong, pepper-forward flavors. Overall, Izakaya Fuku is a restaurant that succeeds on every level. The stunning Japanese interior creates an atmosphere that feels both immersive and elegant, while the food reflects a real attention to detail in both flavor and texture. From the comforting salmon onigiri, to the fresh and beautifully prepared seared salmon salad, to the expertly grilled squid with its exceptional texture, and finally the rich and satisfying ramen dishes, every part of the meal felt carefully executed. It is a place that offers not just excellent food, but a complete dining experience, and it is well worth visiting for anyone looking for standout Japanese cuisine in New York.

Each set includes miso soup, fresh sashimi of the day, uni topped tofu custard, pickled vegetables, eggplant, pickles, and your main dish. Our favorite has to be the katsu, it's probably the best value item on the menu. The miso cod was also excellent, super buttery and tasty while not being too expensive. Both options are available under $40. I would also recommend just ordering the standard Japanese rice, since it's already very filling as it is and we've never needed any of the rice with additions. Service can be a bit slow if you come later in the evening, which is understandable as it gets busier with all the set meals coming out. Ambiance is super cozy, with a sit down area that has cushions and a low table. Can't really go wrong with any spot in the restaurant. We come back here all the time when we're craving something homey and filling, would recommend Honzen!
