STOP scrolling and go to Elm Roastery. Seriously. My wife and I walked in on a whim and walked out ready to move in permanently. This place is a vibe -- warm, buzzy, effortlessly cool, the kind of spot where you sink into your seat and suddenly two hours have vanished and you're totally okay with it. Now let's talk drinks, because WOW. The blueberry spritz? Sunshine in a glass. Bright, fizzy, refreshing, perfectly balanced -- not a drop too sweet -- and gone way too fast because we couldn't stop sipping. And the espresso martini... stop what you're doing. Rich, silky, with a real coffee punch and that gorgeous cloud of foam on top. Easily one of the best I've ever had. These people don't make drinks, they make magic. And the service? Off the charts. The staff were warm, attentive, genuinely passionate, and treated us like regulars from the second we walked in. Not one detail missed -- from the first hello to the last glorious sip. Elm Roastery didn't just win us over, it won us for life. Two devoted new regulars, reporting for duty. FIVE ENORMOUS STARS. read more

Elm Roastery is a must-visit if you live in Queens and want a really good matcha or specialty latte without making the trip to LIC or Astoria. The drinks are consistently well made, reasonably priced, and easy to come back for. The café is also very accommodating if you want to stay awhile, whether that means catching up with a friend or getting some work done on your laptop. Elm has become one of those reliable neighborhood spots that is easy to recommend, and I would happily keep coming back. read more

I love Elm Roastery, it's everything you want out of your local cafe shop. It's moody but still bright enough for group chats. Elm Roastery is popular so seating can get limited during busy hours. Nice coffee shop in Elmhurst with quality coffee. The people that work there are nice. This coffee shop gives community. They sell art and crafts people make in the community. They have a wall just for them. Now the coffee, the coffee is usually very good. They put care into making their coffee. My go to is the lavender latte when it's available. It's beautiful. I also like that they offer limited brews from different countries. It's nice to try something different sometimes. I always stop by when I'm in Elmhurst. read more

As much as I (and pretty much every New Yorker) agree that we don't need another coffee shop every 2 blocks, this seems to be the case with bakeries in Elmhurst, but not dedicated coffee shops (unless you count Starbucks lol). Coffee shop during the day, quiet bar at night. Good coffee, matcha, and cocktails--what a gem of a spot to find yourself in, no matter what hours of the day. Elm Roastery has demonstrated how a business should give back to the community. They utilize their space for good and host a lot of social gatherings and community events, which is not all that common in this area...unless you dig for it. I've been here more than I can count and have tried pretty much most of their menu and I have never been disappointed. They get very creative with their seasonal drinks, which is always exciting. Lots of experimentation (which I get may not be for everyone) and varieties with matcha. I absolutely love going to this place when they get into holiday season mode--tree is up, and holiday specials are out, and they have the coziest environment during after-hours. Also worth noting that they sell handmade crafts that are sourced from local artists, like as greeting cards, accessories, and jewelry, which makes you want to support a business like this even more. I will say that their drink prices aren't really geared towards grab-and-go people who buy coffee every day out of necessity, and taste/quality is not a priority, but rather for people who want to appreciate craft coffee and matcha. Asian-owned (Filipino, I believe since my friend pointed out that they have hard-to-find Filipino pastries). read more

Cute little cafe to get some work done as well as grab a bite. The service is very fast and the baristas are very polite. The food itself is also simple but delicious and the coffee is definitely worth stopping by for. They also have decaf options for those who just like the coffee flavor but don't want to be jumping off the walls after. They also have a good variety of sweet treats as well, definitely worth a visit if you are in the Elmhurst area. read more

We got the seasonal gingerbread matcha latte, iced lavender matcha latte, chili chicken toast, egg sandwich. The gingerbread matcha had a beautiful cinnamon aroma and a strong matcha taste filled with aromatic spices. The iced lavender matcha latte was also pretty solid and I could really taste the hints of the lavender syrup. I'm curious about their coffee options given how good their matcha was. The egg sandwich is phenomenal with its cheesy, creamy goodness. The chili chicken toast was not bad but needed more chili for my preferences. They also have avocado toast, which I didn't try but looked good. This place has a lot of seating options from table seats to counter. Some places are designated social zones so no laptops. They also have games available to encourage people to interact. I was very impressed with their efforts in making an open and welcoming environment for friends to hangout. read more

I love supporting a local business and it's so coo to see a new, hip, modern place pop up in an area with a lot of more traditional businesses around. Staff is friendly. Food can be a little pricey but drinks are more affordable. I ordered the banana matcha and loved it. Solid. Happy to have nice coffee in the area. And they're getting quite busy which is a good sign. Service is either a bit slow, they were backed up or they don't work on your app orders until you arrive and ask for it. Still, not exactly egregious and I'm trying to be understanding, though how they get backed up with 5 workers behind the counter is a little confusing. Still, the service is always friendly and the shop is cute so it's a good reminder to slow down and take it all in. Ambience is fine. Dark walls but well lit. Batches of seats up front and in the back separated by the service counter. Lots of Knick knacks for sale. They've got some pastries and sandwiches but I've never sampled them so I don't have much to add. I usually get some kind of Americano and the coffee flavors really come thru without excess bitterness. I'll also note, they've fixed their cups. Early on, their coffee cups to go used to leak but that's been rectified at least for the past few months. Definitely a good choice if you're looking for a proper brew. read more

I've heard about the Elm Roastery before and I'm so glad this is part of the first cafes I've tried in 2026. The inside was so nice and so cozy with some window seats in the front and chairs in the back. My friend and I went in to get some tea and they were served in a little tea pot to pour in your own cup. They also do refills on it and the staff were so kind. Fun fact: if you come on a Friday and Saturday after hours around 8pm, it turns into a little bar and can be perfect to enjoy a little drink at. They also have some signature cocktails and I will definitely go back to try some! Overall, one of my favorite cafes right now if you're looking for more Queens spots, this is one you should add to your list. read more

Ordered: Iced Strawberry Matcha (~$8) Aya's take: Elm Roastery is already pretty popular and I can see why. Every seat was taken around 2pm on a Sunday. The drinks are made with skill and intention, they have a wide variety on their menu, and they have a great aesthetic! What's not to like? The Iced Strawberry Matcha was vibrant and bright from the strawberry and earthy and slightly bitter from the matcha. Those flavors combined to make a great drink that was also creamy and balanced. It was very pleasant to sip on and gave me a small caffeine kick. ~$8 it was a bit much but the quality was there. Solid try and would definitely come back when I'm in the area! read more

Pulled up to Elm Roastery Cafe in Elmhurst like I was just grabbing a quick coffee... walked out feeling cultured, productive, and emotionally supported This place is fancy but not trying too hard. Artisan coffee that tastes like it went to school, but priced like it still lives in Queens. Cozy, clean, plenty of seating (yes, even in the back), and somehow there's always a spot--perfect for working, meetings, or pretending you're working while eating pastries. Now let's talk damage: * Teddy Bear Financier -- a teddy bear-shaped almond cake with chocolate accents. Cute? Yes. Manly? Surprisingly. Delicious? Absolutely undefeated. * Ham & cheese croissant -- baked fresh daily, buttery, classic, zero notes. * Beef empanada -- straight home run. No debate. * Cold brew -- fresh, smooth, flavorful, and didn't bully my stomach. Staff? Super kind, helpful, and actually happy to be there. Bathrooms? Clean enough to trust. Atmosphere? Warm, inviting, neighborhood gold. Elm Roastery is a major win for Queens. Come to work, come to chill, come to eat a teddy bear pastry and question your masculinity for 2 seconds before ordering another one. 83-30A Broadway, Elmhurst, Queens Support good coffee. Such a hidden gem in Queens! The coffee is always smooth, rich, and clearly made with care you can tell they take their roasting seriously. I've tried both their drip and espresso-based drinks, and everything has been consistently top quality. The vibe is cozy and calm perfect for getting some work done, reading a book, or just enjoying a quiet moment. The baristas are super friendly and welcoming, and I always feel at ease when I walk in. This was the CUTEST spot!!! The barista offered us a sample of the Kyoto coffee because we never tried it before. My boyfriend ended up loving it (he loves black coffee). I on the other hand, got a pumpkin spice latte and really enjoyed that as well. It was not too sweet and offered a nice kick. They have lots of yummy food items as well, their egg sandwich with added prosciutto was killer. There is lots of seating inside, so you'll for sure have a seat and maybe even an outlet for work! One thing I wanted to note, these owners are SO inclusive, they had a flyer at the register on what to do if you're approached by ICE. Seeing that in this political climate, made me really appreciate the cafe even more. read more

Elm Roastery has been on my radar since I saw them on Instagram when they first opened. So glad I finally visited because they did not disappoint! The interior is cozy and surprisingly spacious by New York standards. There's a seating area in the front and a more tables in the back, with the espresso bar running down the middle. I had no trouble finding a seat on a Saturday morning. The space had a nice mix of people working, reading, or just hanging out and enjoying their playlist (I personally fell in the last category). We tried two seasonal lattes: the pumpkin spice and the apple crumble. The latte art on both was top-notch. While the price is on the higher side for a latte ($8.50), it was absolutely worth it for the quality. The espresso was smooth and perfectly brewed--not burnt. Both the pumpkin spice and the apple crumb flavors were prominent but without tasting overly sweet or artificial. The baristas were friendly and helpful with the menu. Our drinks were ready a couple minutes after ordering. Overall, Elm Roastery is a fantastic addition to Elmhurst and central Queens. read more

Updated: May 10, 2026. I decided to visited this establishment to buy a bag of Indonesian coffee. The service was very poor from the last time I was there. I had to asked a number of the workers to grind my coffee beans. One worker was trying to help me buy needed to ask someone how to grind the beans in the machine. It appears the individual that needed to grind my beans was on his cell phone texting away. I had to insist that I needed my coffee beans to be grind. It wasn't until one of the workers decided to help me to have my coffee beans grind. Even as I left the individual was still on the phone texting. It appears from the last time I was there , all new staff. Also I did not see any fresh pastries. That is why I changed the rating from 5 read more

Elmhurst is getting more diverse bakeries and eateries in the neighborhood. It was a hot and sweltering day. Wanted to cool off and get a cup of coffee to start the day. From the outside Elm Roastery appears pretty small, but once you walk in the place is pretty big. You can sit by the window or at a table to get work done. Seems like most of the patrons here come and do work at Elm Roastery. Laptops on table and phones charging. It's the first time I visited this store and had no expectations. Ordered a large drip coffee with cream and it was good. I come back for the drip coffee again. The food item ordered since it was early in the morning. Got the Avocado toast $10.50. It was one slice of hard toast cut in half on top of the toast was arugula with sliced avocado and topped with red onions sprinkled with everything bagel seasoning dashed with oil. Toast was so hard that I had to dunk it into the coffee to soften it up. Avocado was fresh and the arugula too. Next time I go for their croissant. Staff was friendly. Bathroom clean. Had no idea some guy was roasting coffee in the back. I did not smell the roast from the front of the store. Cute items for sale on the shelves Area for patrons to socialize read more

Elm Roastery isn't just a coffee shop, it's a gathering place, a warm corner of Elmhurst where strangers become neighbors and mornings feel a little softer. From the moment you step inside, you're wrapped in a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that feels both thoughtfully designed and effortlessly homey. It's the kind of place that invites you to stay a while. The coffee selection is exceptional. My personal favorites are the London Fog, perfectly balanced and soothing, the s'mores latte with its subtle toasted sweetness, and their beautifully crafted macchiato. And on days when I'm not in the mood for coffee, the jasmine lemonade is my go to, bright, fragrant, and incredibly refreshing. The pastries and breakfast/lunch offerings are delish! If you stop by in the morning, you might catch the croissants coming fresh out of the oven, their buttery aroma filling the space. The ham and cheese croissant is irresistibly flaky and savory. The egg sandwich is pure perfection, the eggs somehow impossibly fluffy, seasoned just right, layered with arugula, and what tastes like a secret aioli that brings everything together. Even when I tell myself I'll keep it simple with the avocado toast, I'm always tempted to add that cloud like egg on top. One of my favorite details is the open kitchen. You can actually see the care that goes into every plate and every cup. The staff are very attentive, genuinely kind, and welcoming in a way that never feels rushed or forced. There's a warmth to the service that makes you feel remembered. If you live in the neighborhood, or find yourself anywhere near Elmhurst, Elm Roastery is a must visit. It's only a matter of time before there are lines out the door, and honestly, they would be well deserved. read more

Great place, however if your searching for a place to study, be aware this place has a loud music.

Firstly context, in Elmhurst you don't usually get good European coffee (i.e. locally roasted espresso based coffee). But, you do in nyc, so my judgement is based on NYC, not Elmhurst solely. Service + Ambiance: 5/5 This is super chill place to hangout, do some laptop work, or just drink coffee. They have free card games to play and a changing table in the bathroom! It is hard to hate on this place. The cashier and everyone who works here are super nice and respectful. Food + Drinks: 4.5/5 Candidly, for Elmhurst 5/5 but in terms of broader NYC, we had better espresso. We felt with milk based drink the espresso ended more muted. But, but desserts specifically the cookies were really good. All in all, definitely going back and visiting again. The downside is that this place can get packed easily so, aim to visit with some wait time. read more

Great coffee and relaxed atmosphere!!!!!!!!! I visited Elm Roastery recently and had a very good experience. The coffee was fresh, well roasted, and full of flavor. You can tell they take their craft seriously. The food options paired nicely with the drinks, and everything was served fresh. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, happy to answer questions about the coffee. The atmosphere is calm and comfortable, making it a great spot to relax or get some work done. It can get a bit busy at times, which is the only small downside. Overall, Elm Roastery is a solid choice for quality coffee, and I'd definitely come back!!!!! read more

This place is a decent addition to the neighborhood. However, after trying a few things, it seems like it's a hit or miss. The hot drinks seem To be pretty good, but I don't tend to get the same luck with their iced. And feel like for the price you're paying, it could taste a little better. I got an iced strawberry matcha with Oatmilk and paid almost 10 bucks for it. With the economy i get things are getting more expensive, but I was slightly disappointed with how it tasted. The strawberry flavor didn't really blend well with the matcha, and left a weird aftertaste. For reference, I ordered the same exact thing yesterday somewhere else and paid around 7, and they seemed to use a house made strawberry flavor that made it taste really nice. Other than that, employees are nice and the café ambiance is decent, but it can get cramped sometimes, so you may need to wait for a seat. I still see myself coming back every now and then, but there could be some improvements in the drink recipes in my opinion. read more

Updated review: Everything is great. The reason why I am deducting a "star" is because of mistakes made by the young man (very nice and congenial) in regards to my order. I went in with my niece and along with my order of a caramel-infused latte (terrific), I ordered two chocolate chip cookies. The young man asked if I wanted them toasted and my niece conveyed she did not want them toasted. He did not give me the cookies so I assumed they would come when my latte order was ready. The cookies never made their appearance. My latte order was called. So after taking a couple of sips, I used my teacher-voice, "Young man, my cookies?" He then proceeded to put two cookies in the toaster and replied, "You want them toasted, yes?" I calmly restated I did not. I had tipped well, as I am a generous tipper, and I understand the young man may have been frazzled because the lady before me was attempting to place a large order for Saturday and asking endless questions BUT the young man had already gotten his superior to engage with her. So I don't understand why he was lax with listening to my order. read more
