I purchased a 12 oz. dark roast at Riverdale Y Sunday Market because I had only 5 hours of sleep. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was strong yet smooth and giving me hints of cinnamon and chocolate.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I bought a bag knowing this coffee has brought me joy in the morning.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Amazing little coffee shop that deserves more hype and attention! They are a family of coffee roasters. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I chose the siphon because they actually show you the whole process. Really cool and the coffee is delicious.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Their lattes are great too for those who don't want black coffee.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Edwin, the barista, working that day was so helpful and patient. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very passionate about quality and you can tell.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Will definitely come back and buy their beans!

Cano comes to Astoria. This Colombian coffee shop just opened up within the last month. There was a lot of social media chatter about a possible opening. On the day I arrived, there was not much to choose from..so a turkey sandwich, chocolate croissant, and coffee turned out to be the best choices available. The cafe itself is rather small, with few chairs yet inviting. I only found one member of staff on duty, but he was friendly and provided good service. All in all, it was a worthwhile visit and a good experience.

I returned to this cafe today for a hot latte and was not disappointed. The owner was there and he took special care in crafting my drink. He told me the business is involved with growing and harvesting the coffee beans in Colombia and that they started out small back in 2015 popping up at farmers markets, but that this is their first brick & mortar location. It's as cute & clean as I remembered. I highly recommend stopping by to try the coffee. It's fantastic!

I chose the corned beef reuben on rye with a garden salad. The 1/2 sandwich was served open-face and included swiss, sauerkraut, and Russian dressing. The garden salad was a very generous serving with an italian dressing on the side. All were wonderful. I ordered a pint of a NY State "hazy IPA," which went perfectly with the food and tasted terrific. We sat in the "grassy" (it's turf) area which is shaded by trees. I felt like I was in Europe, except when the LIRR trains came roaring by. It's adjacent to the tracks, but there are trees that separate you. Highly recommend for the beer and food!

They put "Sports Bar" in the online listing so all the hotshot, sports crazed lunatics know exactly where to go to yell at a screen. Inside, it's the same old story. You've got a long, dark wood bar behind a long dark haired bartender in tight black clothes. These walls are lined with glowing television screens showing sports games like the damn Jets that everyone is paying attention to but me. When i walked in there's a guy sitting by himself at the bar in a khaki shirt, staring down at his hands or his phone, looking completely miserable while light bulbs that were hanging from the ceiling in what looked like metal cages were tearing at my retina. (In all fairness, i do have an eye issue). That's what people do it seems to me, they pay money to go sit in a dark room with and feel lonely, together. Its free at the county lock up and if you drink and drive, step right up and blow because your taking the ride to central booking. I know nothing about this. Then I looked over at the bar top and they've got these fancy beer glasses filled up to the brim, a cool dark draft beer in a pint and a Stella Artois in a chalice, it was sitting right in front of me but it wasnt mine. I beckoned the bartender to "let me have the same". Reflections of glowing televisions illuminated by neon blue lights and rows of prettu liquor bottles above me and more beers being passed around to my right and to my left. Outside, it's completely packed under these warm hanging lights, full of people crammed together in the dark. I noticed that lot of guys wearing baseball caps and that is so prole, leave the baseball hat at home, your an adult, dress like one. They're was even a guy wearing a cowboy hat standing around drinking his beer, talking loud. I wore a cowboy hat once, i was seven years old. It just drives me crazy. The whole place is just sports screens, wooden bar stools, hanging bulbs, and a bunch of phonies trying to forget how depressed they are. It really is.

I ordered the short ribs and the five-onion soup again, and both were excellent. The service was spot-on and impressively quick--my food arrived in under 15 minutes. The owner is also really cool; he personally greets guests and makes a point of chatting with the performers to ensure they're comfortable. This is a wonderfully romantic spot. The beautiful flowers add such a nice touch (as I mentioned in my previous review). While it's not fully upscale, it has an elevated, sophisticated vibe that makes you want to dress up for the occasion. Highly recommended!

The floral displays are fun and are probably the highlight of the visit. The space is clearly designed for photos, and I can see why it would be popular for birthdays, showers, or other special occasions. They seem to go the extra mile when it comes to creating a celebratory atmosphere. Service was excellent from start to finish. The staff at reception and at the table were attentive, friendly, and welcoming. Food-wise, we tried the Kung Pao calamari and wagyu meatballs after seeing other reviewers rave about them, but both felt a little gimmicky to me. Our group mostly stuck with more traditional brunch items, including breakfast burritos and omelettes, and those were fine. Overall, I would not necessarily come here just for the food, but I would recommend it for the atmosphere, service, and special-occasion vibe. It is a great spot if you want a pretty setting, good hospitality, and plenty of photo-friendly areas.

My wife and I went on July 8th so I'm a little late with this review, but overall we had a pleasant experience. Service was a little slow, but it was pretty busy so that's understandable. We really enjoyed our meals--she had the chicken and waffles (pictured) and I had the steak, eggs with fries instead of homefries (not pictured because I dug into almost immediately). The chicken was flavorful and the waffles soft and fluffy. I am a Well Done Beef Warrior and the steak was well done without being dry and tough. We didn't love the cheesesteak eggrolls much as they were oily and had a weird aftertaste. Wouldn't order that but would absolutely go again for the mains. Also, PLEASE get the Dulce De Leche iced coffee, it's incredible. I had one with my meal and ordered another to go.

A lot of people complain about the wait time being too long, but don't realize that long wait times are bound to happen when restaurants get discovered on social media and grow in popularity. The chefs also use one stove to cook all the food, but the food makes the wait definitely worth it in my opinion. The food is a consistent 10/10 any time I visit. They nail their food presentation every time. You can't really go wrong with anything on the menu, but the lobster rolls, seasoned fries, buffalo chicken rolls, and chicken & waffles are all top-tier for me. The mimosas are delicious and will really do it to you if you don't limit yourself lol. Def get the mimosa flights and try all the flavors they have!

There's usually a line of some length during peak hours and especially around the holidays. You can tell by the sheer volume of baked goods and cakes available in their window displays that they sell a lot daily. This location is on the main drag of the little downtown section of Forest Hills, the baked goods in the front window display connect to a tall and long glass counter along the left side of the store that extends almost to the back. At the back middle and along the right side of the wall there's seating for about two dozen people at small cafe tables. They carry an assortment of traditional cakes (full and sliced), pies, cookies, pastries, cheesecakes, cupcakes, ice cream and coffee/tea drinks. A wide variety of flavors in each, so you're bound to find something sweet to satisfy most here. They are a classic bakery so from what I can tell, they don't carry items that are gluten, dairy or nut free. I've purchased their apple pie, fruit tart, berry napoleon, red velvet and chocolate fudge cakes from this or other locations in the past and they're all solid choices for desserts to share with a larger group, though I find a lot of their cake options to be on the richer side. My most recent encounter with their cakes came in the form of a slice of their seven layer cake $9.95 which is thin layers of yellow cake alternating with chocolate cream mmm pretty tasty, and their caramel cake $9.95 which had a layer of chocolate cake in the middle, sandwiched by caramel cream and white cake on either side. The latter had a pronounced caramel flavor that was enjoyable though a bit too much cream for me. My preference would be for their chocolate cakes over other cake flavors here. Their apple pie is one of my favorite apple pies anywhere tho!
