Pastry's and cappuccino
Melissa C.

Pastries and quiche are great. Coffee is good but sometimes burnt. But love the vibes here too, recommend.

Jason T.

Ate here today for brunch by myself while working as a substitute paraprofessional at P.S. 234 Q. I had brought and ate the beef pastrami bagel sandwich with a sweet ice cold tea. It had tasted really good and delicious that the service there was also attentive and friendly and many thanks to Daniel one of the workers was kind to me to warm it up to make it tasty as well. I couldn't agree more. Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time! :)

Large Chai Latte

Love, love, love this cafe. What a life saver! Being stuck in Wednesday's monsoon, I needed a cozy place to work. Madame Sousou is the definition of cozy. I didn't realize the donuts were from Doughnut Plant and if I knew that I would have gotten one, but I opt'd for a small prosciutto and mozz sandwich on a baguette with a chai tea latte. Everything was what I needed to warm me up from the storm. And bonus points for the free WiFi. The staff was the lovely. The food was fresh. This place was just perfect. Adding it to my list of favorite cafes in Astoria. Next time, there's a slice of quiche with my name on it.

Stopped here on a whim due to wanting some coffee. I was not disappointed. Coffee is smooth and my latte was well done. My friends had a tea and a macchiato. Both enjoyed their drinks. Service was quick and kind and the ambiance in the cafe was calm. I liked the decorations. There is some seating if you'd rather dine in.

Double Cappuccino & Zucchini Quiche

Cute place. Quite possibly the best quiche I've EVER had!! Ordered a zucchini quiche wanting a vegetable, unsure of my order. This quiche satisfied every possibly craving I had and then some. Double cap also good. Highly recommend!! Service was helpful, quick and friendly. I'll be back!

Macchiatos, key lime pie, chocolate souffle
Yesenia M.

This place is small but has a lot to offer! I've been here a few times for their coffee - they serve lavazza and have a variety of flavors. I've had both the regular and lavender which I REALLY enjoyed but it's definitely strong so only go for the flavor if you really enjoy lavender. More than the coffee what really draws me in is their key lime pie - not overly tarte with a wonderful vanilla lime flavor. They have so many pastries but it's hard to go for anything else knowing how good the key lime is. The cons are the last times I've visited, the service took a while and seating can be limited.

Chocolate mousse and Moroccan mint tea
Amanda A.

Cute cafe. The mint tea and service were average. The chocolate mousse was terrific. There is only one outlet inside if you're hoping to charge a device so pray the one table near it is open.

Afternoon coffee talk at the fabulous Madame sousou's. Heated outdoor patio inside swearing also - delicious menu and great coffee

Brewed Coffee

I have been to this cafe on and off for a few years now. The pastries are consistently full of flavor and always moist. I especially like this little rum and brown sugar treat. Also the sticky bun and lemon cake are both incredible. The service is also always wonderful and there is usually a space to sit.

Iced Matcha

I usually order hot chai lattes here, which have been consistently delicious every time I order them. I'll occasionally get iced chai if it's a warmer day, which is pretty good. I would skip the matcha if you prefer sweeter matcha lattes. It is served unsweetened unless you ask for syrup, which is an extra $0.50 charge. Overall a very cute and comfy cafe. I love coming here to read books or do some work. The baristas are always welcoming and friendly. WiFi is a plus too

Simit (~$6) & Medium Iced Caramel Latte (~$5)
Aya E.

Ordered: Simit (~$6) aka Turkish bagel: with beef pastrami, cheese, cream cheese, and pickles Medium Iced Latte (~$4.25) + caramel syrup (50¢) Aya's take: I walk by Madame Sousou all the time and glad I was finally about to try it out when I decided to "WFH" from this cafe. The Simit was pretty unique, made fresh, and the pastrami had great flavor. I kind of wish it was heated up first so that the bagel was warm and the cheese was a bit melted. The Iced Latte was well-made and gave me the caffeine kick I needed to get some work done. Small but cute cafe with a few tables and outlets spread out.

Ham and cheese croissants (3), regular croissant and donut. Via one Too Good To Go order.

The restaurant felt homey and I could tell there were many regulars and other return visitors, for good reason! Ordered: Masala Chai ($4.50)- this tasted authentic, was nicely spiced, and wasn't too sweet. I only wish the cup was bigger. Steamed momo ($12+)- I like how you have the option to mix and match. We ordered the mixed vegetable and the oyster mushroom and surprisingly I much preferred the oyster mushroom variety. The mixed vegetable momo tasted more earthy to me. Himalayan rice set ($20.5)- this was a very nice assortment- there was rice, lentil dal, your protein of choice- (I chose beef brisket), stir fried cabbage, broccoli rabe, pickled vegetables and crisp flatbread. The only downside in my opinion was that the brisket wasn't too tender and I didn't love the beef flavoring or preparation. The rest of the items were so delicious! I've been thinking about this meal ever since I left the restaurant. You don't want to skip this place.

It can be a little confusing to find since it's a stand inside the market, not a separate store front. They carry a pretty wide variety of Asian flavor-inspired breads, pastries, cakes and cookies, including buns and some more dessert-type items. I checked out Progreso for an event this past weekend and ended up buying a few items to go: - matcha marble sponge cake $4.49: was fluffy, light and moist, good flavor of matcha and a light schmear of whipped cream in the middle. Would get this again! - taro cream puff $6.50: this was taro paste (? not sure if that's fully accurate though it felt more consistency of soft whipped taro than a traditional pastry cream) with whipped cream on top sandwiched by what I believe was choux pastry with craquelin. I think maybe because the this was sitting chilled/refrigerated for a while the top craquelin layer wasn't quite crispy anymore, though it looked nice. Personally it was a bit too much regular whipped cream, would've preferred more of a taro pastry cream. - mango pudding with fresh mango $6.50 mango flavor in the pudding was light though it was a nice tease of flavor. The texture was on the firmer side for puddings. The mangos were a bit oxidized though tasted ok, maybe glaze them or do something to maintain the color? Since this is a pretty new spot hope they could make a few improvements and blow it out of the park! I appreciated the owners' enthusiasm for sharing about their shop.

It's definitely a cozy and popular café--mostly cozy because of the size. Seating is limited, but the interior design is clean, minimal, and uncluttered, which makes the space feel calm and welcoming despite the steady stream of customers coming in and out while we were there. Food-wise, everything impressed us. I ordered the pistachio croissant, while my companions got the gochujang hot chicken sandwich and the breakfast sandwich. The chicken sandwich was especially memorable--unique, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. My pistachio croissant was also great; personally, I might have preferred a little less pistachio cream or a more textured filling like almond paste, but that's purely a preference. It was still excellent. The service really stood out. They were quick, friendly, and incredibly accommodating--one of my companions accidentally dropped their sandwich, and the staff replaced it free of charge without hesitation. That kind of kindness goes a long way. The price point is amazing for the quality of food you're getting, and we felt completely comfortable lingering for several hours. Throughout our stay, there was a consistent flow of customers, which says a lot. Highly recommend Little Flower if you're in Astoria and looking for great food, great value, and genuinely warm service.

Overall, while the vibe was great, I thought that their drinks were okay (or maybe I just had a miss).

Me and my girl was looking for a coffee shop that was laptop friendly and closed late since we came after work. I was a bit disappointed that they did not serve any alcoholic beverages as I saw a lot of good reviews on that portion. We came, we sat down on a Saturday night. There was only one person at the front and it seemed she was also managing the serving part so it did get pretty hectic at some point. We decided to order the Budae Jigae (Hot Pot), there is no way to alter the spicy level so for those who love spicy spicy, this is for you. Me and my friend was really disturbed by the fact that we were treated some type of way. Maybe it's because we weren't Korean or? Service was slow asf. It took a really long time for them to serve me my iced strawberry matcha drink. And even longer for the food. It was also hard to tag her down, and she seemed pretty annoyed that we had to ask her for multiple items. We were a party of 2 and she only gave us one set of items. I went again by myself the next day to see if it was better service and it was pretty packed. There was actually 3-4 people at the front but even then it was so hard to get someone to take my order, ask for napkins, for the check, etc. While there was no time limit on Saturday, there was a time limit of 1 hour and 30 minutes on Sunday. would I go again? Maybe, but it's def veering towards the no side.

Everyone was just so genuine and friendly to be around. Came here to the Astoria location during their 11th year anniversary promotion yesterday. First 100 customers in line would receive a limited-edition sippy glass tumbler with attached boba straw & removable lid cover with his/her in-store purchase. They accept both cash and debit/credit card. The line was effectively managed with no line cutters, no arguing, and nothing crazy going on. Overall, it was such a pleasant experience. Lots of people have still showed up despite the really cold weather & down-pouring. Nothing gonna stop me from getting the cute glassware. Store opened and promotion started at 12:05pm. Everyone just ordered one by one towards the front when it was his/her turn. The Vietnamese Cloud Coffee was $7.52 (after tax). Hot/iced + medium/large drinks have different set of prices btw. Staff then handed me the glassware & a free sampler bowl of their soon-to-launch either lemongrass chicken/pork rice bowl after accepting payment. Portion was definitely more on the generous side to say the least. Devoured the sampler bowl in 15 mins because I was hungry & aside from keeping the rain not getting into the food. Flavorful lemongrass chicken + appetizing pickled carrot + fresh, crunchy sliced cucumber laid on a blanket of fluffy white rice. All the ingredients went well together. This is something I would definitely buy for lunch/dinner if this item ever gets added to the menu in the future. I ordered a hot Vietnamese Cloud Coffee, a new drink on the menu. My first time actually ordering a hot drink from Tea & Milk. Usually go for the iced drinks but I was feeling quite cold. So, I needed something hot to hold in my hands. Vietnamese Cloud Coffee - Cà Phê Trứng (Egg Coffee) is made with egg yolks + Vietnamese coffee powder. Lastly, it's lightly sweetened with condensed milk to give off an all-around creamy texture and taste similar to tiramisu. Something created with such simple ingredients yet could feel so soothing at the same time. A hot coffee-based drink on a cold, rainy day is like a snuggly hug. Staff called out your name when it was ready for pickup. Love starting my day off with the strong flavor of Vietnamese coffee! By far, this might actually be the best tasting Vietnamese coffee I have had in all my years. And, I'm usually not a coffee person either. Didn't taste watered down and/or heavily sweetened at all. Everything's just right. Definitely would be going back next time for other coffee/fruit tea drinks.
