I wish I'd thought to take a photo of this Oreo Nutella Croissant - but I couldn't wait to dive in. It was incredible! Buttery, flaky, chocolatey, with a bit of a crunch. I also had a Caramel Latte which was great. The prices here are wonderful - I paid just around $15 total. The employees were kind - even during a very busy Sunday morning rush. I went out of my way to come here, passing by several other neighborhood coffee shops, and I'm glad I did. I will be in Long Island City all week and will definitely stop back by this cute little coffee shop.

Rocket Fuel (~$6) with Lavender syrup (75¢)

Ordered: Rocket Fuel (~$6) with Lavender syrup (75¢) Aya's take: I pass by Coffee Ave all the time and have never tried it - until now! I desperately needed a strong coffee to start and get me through the day. Luckily, they have something called Rocket Fuel on their menu which is exactly what I needed. I don't really know how much coffee or espresso shots are included but it definitely did the job. I like that the creaminess from the milk balanced out the boldness from the coffee. The Lavender syrup I added gave it a nice floral essence but was way too subtle and could've used a bit more syrup to make it stand out a bit more. The customer service was also a 10/10; shout out to Eddie who had amazing vibes and gave recommendations on the menu. He was awesome and gave me that added energy boost along with the Rocket Fuel. If you're in Astoria, check them out. I will be back!

A hidden gem in the heart of Queens, Broadway-30th street. Got a few pasteries and it was superb!! The spinach feta cheese pie was so tasty and the chocolate croissant was pretty salty sweet. They also have sandwiches available and empanadas it seems. The service is accommodating and friendly!! Saw a few people study here and would like to do that and try their beverages soon. Beautiful place

Stopped by here and grabbed some pastries for my family. The staff were very efficient and friendly. The cheese bread was so good and fresh. My kids loved the chocolate crescent because it was fluffy haha. My partner loved the spinach cheese thing it was a perfect mix of cheese spinach and pastry. If I lived in Astoria I'd def work remotely here cu inside was a vibe! Overall loved this spot and can't wait to go back.

Nice spot , good coffee, great service

Obsessed is an understatement. This cafe has been my go to for the past month. The coffee is always amazing & all the food items that I have tried so far are fresh & delicious! Best bacon, egg & cheese & it's only $6? In Astoria? Cmon, that's unbeatable. The pandebono cheese bread is out of this world. Apple pie is my dad's absolute favorite - it's so fresh & made with different types of apples & a splash of cinnamon. I don't know if I'm the only one but sometimes Apple desserts can be too sweet and end up with me having heartburn which is never fun but not this one haha! The staff is always all exceptionally nice! The owner herself is on top of all orders! There's indoor seating, outdoor seating & did I mention puppy friendly? Yeah you heard it right!

I love it here The staff is dope The coffee is great The Halloween decorations have a lot of effort put into them. My only reservation: watch out for the couch chairs. They sit extremely low

Delicious coffee. Iced latte and green tea iced lattes come highly recommended! ($4 each). Drinks were really well made. Lots of seats inside and outside, seems like a cool place to chill, meet friends, catch up with work. They also serve omelettes, sandwiches, burgers, and other pastries. Looks pretty dope from what I saw. Could be a really cool place to grab a quick lunch or breakfast!

This is based on Too Good to Go. I don't really leave reviews for those orders but it was such a standout bag of pastries. I don't know the names of all of them, but what I assume to be the Pao de Queijo was a clear standout - such a buttery, flavorful, and hard (in a good way) exterior with a moist and chewy inside. The taquito-looking pastries had cheese inside, and was my 2nd favorite. The spinach pie and the apple pie (a little too mushy of a filling) were okay but nothing stood out. The potato empanada was the only thing that was bad - the exterior was hard/stale but probably from being heated all day. I would come back for the cheese bread, it was fantastic.

During one of my walks around the neighborhood, I finally decided to try this small café located on the corner of quiet 34th Ave and 33 Street in Astoria. I've walked by a few times since they opened in late January but have never been inside until today. They have a few small café tables outside and along with some cool looking wall art. The inside is small but clean, with lots of sun exposure, and has a cool, laid back vibe. They do offer indoor seating and there are 2-3 small tables to left of the entrance as well as bar seating along the right. Even though it is a small place, it did not feel claustrophobic. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the lady behind the counter. She was so helpful and friendly. I came around 6pm and it looked like most of their pastries were already gone. I ended up ordering a couple empanadas (Hawaiian and the spinach). Both had a nice delicate, flaky crust. I really liked the Hawaiian empanada and appreciated that it was on the menu, as you do not often see this offered at other cafes. I also got the Oreo Mousse which had hazelnut praline, vanilla cream on a chocolate cake base and topped with Oreo pieces. It was wonderfully creamy, sweet and hazelnutty. The menu also offers other heartier fare like burgers, sandwiches, and salads. I really need to do another visit when they have more items out. Plus, I just realized that I did not even try any of their hot beverages...doh! As usual, I was distracted by food and forgot about ordering a beverage. That is okay though, I like supporting local businesses and Coffee Avenue is a nice addition to this neighborhood.

This place has become a Sunday ritual. The coffee is fantastic! The manager is so sweet & knows us / our order once we get there! They have savory & sweet options. My favorite sweet item is the apple pita as well as the coconut cookies! Always so fresh & satisfying. There are tables indoors and they have huge outdoor dining & most importantly they are puppy friendly!

I really wanted to like this place. The vibe is cute, the white mocha was decent and the chairs are comfortable. However, neither of the 2 baristas seemed motivated to be there. One of them couldn't tell me if they made any in house syrups or sauces (they don't), and the other seemed to have all of their loud friends just hanging out on a Friday night and were quite loud.

They have a table to pickup preorders so you don't have to wait in the main line. I ordered a dozen for $39. You can select your assortment. Here's my review in order from the best to the least desirable, according to our group. Vanilla custard- the filling was thick and speckled with vanilla beans. It wasn't too sweet. This was the best according to our group. Strawberry filled- this is most traditional and Breads Bakery does a nice job. The jam is homemade. Pistachio- this doughnut was filled with smooth pistachio cream and was topped with a few pieces of pistachio. Not traditional, but they did a good job. Chocolate- the filling tasted like a semisweet or bittersweet cream/custard. Like the others, it was smooth. The vanilla was more popular among our group and I personally didn't love this doughnut. Mango- this was the one that those in my group felt missed the mark. It wasn't cloyingly sweet, so that was good, but the filling didn't do anything for us either. If you're looking for a mango dessert the one at Lysée is a real winner.

Let me tell you why this coffee shop stands above the rest:…read more 1. They use quality beans. I'm a home barista and use Oslo's beans for my americanos. When I moved to the UES, I was worried finding a new local roaster. I've had bad experiences where the beans are too oily or something is off that messes with my usually grind size/extraction time. No issues with Oslo's beans. 2. They actually know how to make a proper americano. Every coffee shop takes a standard cup, puts in the espresso shot, and then fills hot water to the brim of the cup. This destroys the flavor of the espresso. You end up with hot water that tastes slightly like coffee. Oslo chooses quality over quantity. They don't fill the water up to the brim, so you have a cup with 2/3 of liquid; however, this is a proper americano. You can taste the difference. At other shops, I just get drip coffee because they don't know what they're doing. Oslo knows what they're doing. That's why I come here.

Unfortunately, it was totally bland and not large at all. The side sauce added nothing and over 30$ with tax/tip. For entrees, we shared the lobster pasta and the guazzetto di Pesci. The pasta was good. Reasonable amount of pasta but we would have liked some more chunks of lobster for the price. I thought the sauce was only ok but my girlfriend liked it. The guazzetto di Pesci was only fair. The sauce was lacking flavor. Also a very small bowl of broth with maybe 3 small shrimp and muscles, a few small chunks of fish. and two sad, tiny pieces of bread on the side. Since we were still quite hungry after the meal, we ordered the lotus chocolate caramel dessert. This was the only dish we really liked. kinda hard to mess up gelato though. It came with a hard outer candy shell and a very small cookie center that was sweet and delicious. Overall, an average meal at best that we both felt was lacking in taste and size. Won't return.

They did bring out complimentary bread, which was appreciated, though it felt like something that should be standard rather than a highlight. One item someone in our group wanted -- the octopus burger -- was unfortunately unavailable, which was disappointing, especially given that it was brunch and still relatively early in the day. That said, the dishes we did order were good and well prepared. The space itself is nice: the front functions as a cute coffee shop, while the back has tables for sit-down dining. Because of that setup, the vibe feels more casual, but the menu offers solid options. Overall, it was a good experience, just not a great one -- a decent brunch spot, but nothing that blew us away.
