Walked in because we wanted iced coffee, wife end up buying a surprise bag of assorted pastries for $5. The bag contained a goat cheese croissant, ham croissant and some other fruit filled croissant. The pastries were ok, but not enough to make me go out of my way. The almond croissant was ok, although very sweet for my palate. Cold brew ice coffee was a bit bitter. read more

Cute little cafe with a very local vibe. Ordered the nutellaccino which just had the Nutella sitting at the bottom of my drink so not really worth it. Concerning especially around these times as they don't require all customers to wear masks when coming indoors to order not did I see them sanitizer between customers. read more

Popped in late one evening to see if they had any of their (very) yummy pastries left. I had their cheese danish and it was great! When I got home to ate it, I sprinkled a little powered sugar on it and it was heaven. The employee was so wonderful and nice while helping me. I wasn't able to catch his name. I pass The Corner Spot every single day. It took until Starbucks ran out of soy milk for me to finally come in for a caffeine fix. Their coffee is excellent but REALLY expensive. I typically order a soy cafe au lait (half coffee, half steamed milk), they didn't know what that was even though I explained it so I settled for a latte. Don't get me wrong it was great, but $5.44 for a large that was way smaller than my usual drink I pay about $4 for...crazy. I decided to stop by this place while staying in queens for a bit and wow I was not disappointed at all! I got a small iced white macchiato. The coffee was delicious and sweet and creamy, just what I was in the mood for today. Also there was only one person there making coffee but they did a really great job of doing that and handling customers at the same time. I have no regrets with the coffee and tipped the person who made it as well. I would definitely return and get the exact same thing again! read more

When I first started coming here the coffee was truely one of the coffees I have ever had! I ordered the iced white mochaccino .It tasted thick and creamy just like a milkshake. But lately it has become a hit or miss the past few times the coffee has been watered down and not frothy at all...very disappointing when it is so inconsistent, I guess it really just depends on who is making it . Great if you are looking for a regular cup of coffee, something sweet to eat or something on the fancier side. I always go for the nutellaccino with oat milk or a chai. They also have breakfast sandwiches and pastries, my go tos are the ham and cheese pie or bougatsa(cream pie). They now have outdoor seating which is great if you are not in a rush and want to enjoy your food and coffee. Hands down favorite coffee spot in the neighborhood. read more

Competition in NYC is fierce so I have to remember to normalize my reviews. If I was new to NYC, this would be a solid 5+ star cafe. Since I am a new yorker with high expectations, this place is a solid 4.5 star adventure (with customer service & atmosphere bumping it into 5 stars! If you are dairy or nut sensitive, the staff is compassionate and knowledgable. They even offer a macadamia nut milk! At first blush, this place is really easy to miss. Definitely do not judge this book by its cover... after a curious pondering, my first visit was a surprise of artsy ambiance and chill weekend vibe (instagram worthy... I'm not an IG cool kid but if I were, this would be my summer photo dream!) The prices are a bit high but it's new york, high quality ingredients, and the staff seem happy... so I'd gladly pay $1-2 more for a relaxing place with good business owners. It's also pretty greek, in an authentic Astoria way... meaning it's just real people doing real things, speaking greek along the way. This was my go to spot during the summer, the amount of essays i got done while being here probably trumps the amount of items I've tried on the menu, it's one of those spots you become a regular because you love your coffee a certain way and 9/10 times they get it right, which for me is really important being that coffee gets me going when I need inspiration. I'm that weird guy that orders Iced americanos with no sugar or milk, I love the boldness of the coffee but that's just my thing. They do something special with the americano, I won't tell you just ask what they do and you'll see why im such a huge fan. Surprisingly enough the croissant sandwiches are soooo delicious, I've had the ham and cheese, and turkey. The 3 star review is because of their clientele, most of the times they have their door open with a herd of chain smokers sitting outside letting the smoke in the shop. Kind of hard to focus with the smell but they do make exceptional coffee and that's hard to come by. read more

They close at 8 but basically implied that I needed to leave 30 minutes before closing. I've worked in cafes for over 5 years therefore I can attest that this is not a normal occurrence that should occur. Finally got around to going to this place, I have to say it exceeded my expectations. My girlfriend is obsessed with chocolate croissants and told me this was the best one she has had outside of Italy. The cheese pie was also excellent, very different from what I'm used to (growing up Greek) sesame crusted and very flakey with what tasted like a hint of lemon. The coffee was great, I always get a Freddo Espresso & this will now be my go to stop for my morning cafe & tiropita (cheese pie, sorry I felt the need to be Greek lol). read more

a nice little coffee shop in astoria on steinway that serves very good hot and cold coffee and tea drinks , sweet pastries , sandwiches , etc. during our morning visit folks were mostly sitting outside enjoying the sunny weather which gave us space to sit inside the country style interior decor. the staff are a nice bunch of folks and will make your drink order as you wish and will heat up your ham and cheese crossiant if you prefer . basically everything that have to offer is on display and the large menu board also give the rundown of whats available. this is my 3rd time at the corner spot and soon i will make it number 4 as i want to explore a bit more of what i can munch on with my ice cappuccino. 4 stars on my yelp meter. read more

Stopped at this cute little spot needing something sweet and quick. The guys who took our order and made my drink were so unbelievably helpful and nice. The establishment was so clean you could literally smell it and the matcha latte I got (as a recommendation by the cashier) and it was so delicious I couldn't believe it. We also ordered a cream pie thing that I can't remember the name of but that was also so delicious. Overall this place was so great. read more

The most expensive cream cheese bagels in the world!!! I was arriving home from working and this place was open, so I got in and just asked for a cream Cheese bagel, when they gave me my change it looks that I asked for a sandwich...$5 for cream cheese bagel?...that's a lot. Anyway I left them $2 tip and continue walking home thinking about that because I don't like when people do that. Pleaseeee...it's just cream cheese bagel!!! Not usually one to write bad reviews, but feeling ripped off. Ordered a turkey bacon lettuce tomato sandwich on a roll. It was tiny, there must have been no more than 2 measly slices of turkey. I was still hungry after eating that tiny sandwich. Additionally, a large ice tea was over 7 bucks and didn't seem "large" at all. If I'm paying over 7 bucks for a large ice tea, I'm expecting something that actually feels large. This ice tea was the equivalent of a grande at starbucks, should have been closer to venti to warrant paying as much for an ice tea as I paid for the sandwich. The ice tea and sandwich were good, but not nearly worth what I paid for it. I understand times are tough now but I've ordered from several delis around the area and have never felt ripped off like this. Every deli I've ordered from has provided bigger sandwiches for the same price and have never had the nerve to charge over $5 for a drink. Additionally, the delivery man wasn't wearing a mask. I also read a review that someone saw none of the employees were wearing masks. This is pretty alarming and shows complete ignorance of what's going on with COVID. Every deliveryman I've encountered through seamless has always worn a mask but not this one. read more

Love this place. Very cool coffee shop on Steinway and 23rd Ave. I struggled to find in the area a place to work with a chill atmosphere and where I didn't feel awkward sitting for a while. But then I found The Corner Spot! Super laid back get tons of work done. The drinks are very good, and they'll make it the way YOU want it. Also daily selection of pastries, nice cafe sandwiches made to order and bottled drinks They have a TV so if you want to watch a game with your sports team you could catch it here if you wanted. We were watching Real Madrid one time and I was like, yeaaahhhh!!!! Note: TV audio does not distract anyone working. And when I want to feel like an old Armenian man from Glendale (CA not NY) I like to play backgammon here with company. Ahh feels like home. No complaints here! read more

The exterior looks great when you first see this place from across the street. The interior is adorable, although a little dark depending on how cloudy it is outside. We purchased two espresso based coffee drinks. One large latte, and large cappuccino. They were pretty bad. Not at all enjoyable. The espresso either wasn't strong enough, or the pull was way too long and watered the coffees down. The latte was even worse than my cappuccino. My fiance gave me a drink and it was just horrible. Not sure what happened with the latte. I don't think i'd come here again. read more

Very disappointed with delivery order. I paid a $3.99 delivery fee plus $3.99 small order fee to wait 1 hour and 45 minutes for an egg sandwich and coffee both work ice cold and soaking wet by the time they were delivered. read more

The cakes here are really good because they're not too sweet. I also got a prosciutto sandwich on a baguette. The flavor was really good, but the sandwich is a little small. So good thing we picked up cake, lol. It's always busy here so be patient, the line goes fast. The wait is definitely worth it. This place is definitely a must go for their pastries and cake. They have a wall just for them. Now the coffee, the coffee is usually very good. They put care into making their coffee. My go to is the lavender latte when it's available. It's beautiful. Service is either a bit slow, they were backed up or they don't work on your app orders until you arrive and ask for it. Still, not exactly egregious and I'm trying to be understanding, though how they get backed up with 5 workers behind the counter is a little confusing. Still, the service is always friendly and the shop is cute so it's a good reminder to slow down and take it all in. Ambience is fine. Dark walls but well lit. Batches of seats up front and in the back separated by the service counter. Lots of Knick knacks for sale. They've got some pastries and sandwiches but I've never sampled them so I don't have much to add. I usually get some kind of Americano and the coffee flavors really come thru without excess bitterness. I'll also note, they've fixed their cups. Early on, their coffee cups to go used to leak but that's been rectified at least for the past few months. Definitely a good choice if you're looking for a proper brew.
