I live in sunnyside and Brookside Market is always my go to coffee shop. Love their service, drinks, and ambiance!

The food is enjoyable abd filling. It's a calm laud back atmosphere. The decor is simple. They have a lovely outdoor area. It's small but quaint. Our waiter was fine. He was very chill. We had to ask for salt and pepper and serving utensils. He also didn't warn us about the peppers that came with the chicken. They were extremely spicy. The whipped ricotta was creamy with a light sweetness. It came with the slices of warm bread. The mac and cheese felt very homemade. It had good quality cheeses and lots of black pepper. I liked it especially when I heated it up the next day. The salad was refreshing. The chicken dish was juicy and cooked well. It was tasty. However the peppers around it were inedible to my sister and I due to their spice level. They looked beautiful though.

Big shoutout to Brookside for completely blowing us away! We already knew the coffee was top-tier, but *dinner?* Dinner was next-level. My husband and I stopped by for restaurant week and... WOW!! He devoured the potatoes (that garlic aioli deserves its own standing ovation), and I'm already dreaming about the rosemary whipped ricotta. The meatballs? Packed with flavor. The bucatini? Bright, cheesy, and my new obsession. And then--my very first crème brûlée experience. Let's just say it set the bar *very* high! I'm pregnant, so no cocktails for me, but their non-alcoholic spritz? Refreshing and delicious. And honestly, the food would've been a knockout on its own--but what really made the night was the amazing team. Every single staff member is so kind, thoughtful, and on point. Special shoutout to the owner Carrie, for being so warm and making sure our night went off without a hitch. Above and beyond doesn't even begin to cover it! Brookside, you've officially made our favorites list.

Cozy atmosphere and vibe here with a hokiday decor during the Christmas season. Great cofffee and very quiet as well (great for working/reading) with a real old school charm.

1/2 of a napkins because actually I was afraid to ask for only one napkins in that place

My new favorite hidden gem in New York, specifically sunny side. I love the farmstead lite decor with a bit of Long Island prep. I guess you'll have to come to know. The latte was delicious and I love the outdoor space for some fresh air. I will stop by again in the future if I'm in the neighborhood.

One of the cutest cafes I have ever been to. Just look at all the holiday decorations! The cafe is so warm and cozy, and it's filled with local families and friends. It has the ambiance of a cafe where regulars go rather than just a pick up and go coffee shop, which is hard to find in NYC. The staff is also super nice and friendly. You can even see one of the baristas smiling in the back of my picture which I didn't even realize until after! Unfortunately I'm boring and I got a cold brew, but they have a lot of seasonal lattes that looked really good. Definitely worth a visit!

Staple in the neighborhood, very popular. Reasonable wait times given the traffic. Buddha bowl was a bit too oily, the hash browns too greasy.

First time here, and I always pass by this spot as it's on queens blvd where I run my errands. They are having restaurant week, so I decided to try this place out as they're taking part in it. Came during dinner time and did the $35 deal. I decided to try the bread with whipped ricotta, honey, and rosemary. It was really good! For my main entree, I got the broccoli rabe & sausage. It was good, but I didn't really see a lot of sausages more of the broccoli rabe, so that's my complaint. (All you see is the broccoli, and it would've been better if it was called a lot of veggies and some protein on the side. Jk) I wasn't satisfied with the entree. For dessert, I chose the keylime pie, and it was alright. There is nothing amazing here that would make me want to go back.

After dropping off my fiancé's brother at LaGuardia super early, we thought Brookside Market would make a great place to get some breakfast and hang out. This spot was so charming, and being from Connecticut, we loved the nods to Brookside Market in Woodbridge, CT! Delicious avocado toast, bacon egg & cheese sandwich, and pain au chocolat. We liked our cortado and hot chocolate too! I would definitely come back again next time I'm in the area!

Yes! I always bring my dog inside for pick up. You cannot, however, bring your dog to the back patio.

We shared Betsy's Mom's Clam Dip, Mushroom Toast, Bitter Greens Salad, Minted Lamb Meatballs, and duck pâté. The meal opened with the clam dip; cool, lush, and briny, with a creamy oceanic richness that coated the palate; followed by a tangy, salty depth that clung to each crunchy bite of bread. The Mushroom Toast followed with deeper savoriness: earthy, almost forest-floor mushrooms, warm and tender, turning silky as they soaked into the bread, while the edges stayed crisp and toasted, adding contrast to the woodsy umami and subtle garlic warmth. The Bitter Greens Salad provided a bright, palate-cleansing break that included crisp and peppery greens with a sharp lemony dressing that snapped on the tongue, layered with faint fennel sweetness and the nutty, salty bite of shaved parmesan. The Minted Lamb Meatballs arrived richer and more comforting, tender and juicy with a gentle gamey depth, lifted by fresh mint that cut through the richness, and a cool, tangy tomato-yogurt sauce that added creaminess and brightness in equal measure. We finished with pâté--silky, dense, and deeply savory, with a faint iron-rich intensity and buttery smoothness, especially when spread on bread with sharp, briny pickles that added crunch and acidity. Each dish felt intentional and well-balanced for sharing, with varied textures and temperatures that built naturally across the table. I'd happily return to explore more of the menu.

The menu is fairly on the basic side - mainly drinks and pastries and there is some sandwiches. We decided to get the hot chocolate with whip cream (the whip cream is very needed). It was very rich, thick and delicious and not "too sweet." The whip cream really makes it more creamy and it does not really add to the sweetness which was good. We also got a side of Salame e Formaggio which I would recommend passing on because the cheese was kind of hard and not that great. The salami was good and honestly I'm not a fan of olives but my friend who liked it enjoyed them. Overall - a cute place to stop by for a hot chocolate and maybe a pastry!

We got a torta caprese (flourless chocolate cake), a sfogliatella, a hot chocolate, and a machiatto. The torta caprese was okay. The sfogliatella, which is supposed to be light and crisp, was clearly stale and chewy, although they warmed it up which was a helpful touch. The hot chocolate was reviewed on Instagram as being super rich and decadent, but it was made from a mix that smelled oddly similar to Swiss Miss. the machiatto was also quite watery. Come here for the vibes, but not for the food.

Though they didn't serve the sprite-infused red wines I enjoyed in Spain, they did serve white sangrias, which were light, sweet, and very enjoyable. The toasted bread with tomatoes was bright and summery. The grilled asparagus was cooked wonderfully al dente, with a char that added a nice smoky flavor against the clean taste of the drizzled olive oil. The beef skewers were well seasoned and fatty. While the food was Spanish, the prices certainly were not! It was a tad pricey. There wasn't anything below $13 for their small bites. Regardless of the hot weather, I decided on a table outside. Each bite of the tapas was delightful for what it was and I ended up ordering an extra tapa because I couldn't make up my mind. I chose the shrimp in garlic sauce (oil) that I sopped up with the accompanied bread, the dates wrapped in bacon (they do their own twist by filling it with honey ricotta stuffing and finishing it with a red wine reduction), I also went with cod fish croquettes (the perfect crispness on the outside and a delectable creamy texture of fish inside), I can never pass up the patatas bravas, so, I got those too. I had a glass of a beautiful, crisp, white Chardonnay off the menu from Spain. Definitely a must try if you are looking for a quick meal for one.
