I was looking for a hot sandwich when I stopped upon The Spot cafe. Upon ordering I was debating between lots of options. Until I just decided to get a Chopped Cheese with avocados and jalapeños on it. The young lady at front was very patient and hospitable. Cause I did take long to order lol. It was a 7 minute wait and I decided to dine in. I have to say my chopped cheese was definitely fresh and hot. I also had a seltzer water to acompany it. Overall ambiance was peaceful. The 5 star rating and reviews lured me in to finally order from here.....so disappointed. I was pretty specific on how I would have liked my egg cooked (since I normally don't eat them) I asked that the egg be well well done and brownish in color would be fine by me, which was a clear indication I like my eggs cooked well done. This egg was nowhere near what I asked for and I don't like my cheese laid on top of the egg once removed from the skillet......most people put the cheese into the egg before placing on the skillet. I also selected whole wheat bread and received white which I dislike and never eat. The sandwich after one bite was quickly thrown in the trash since food texture is huge to me and if any food feels slimy in my mouth I can't consume it. Gave one star because the coffee was at least good. Establishment taking out of the rotation of the places I order from moving forward. read more

I stopped by here for breakfast since it was close to the puppy park! The girl behind the register was SUPER nice - I ordered a mushroom omelette which was 3 egg whites, chicken, mushrooms, onions, spinach & provolone cheese! It came with some home fries & white toast! The portion was HUGE & very affordable (around $11). The inside was super small but literally had everything! (From granola parfaits, smoothies, salads, wraps, paninis, baked goodies, fruit to chips!) There's also a place inside like a bench to sit at & eat your food if you're hangry & don't want to wait till you get home (which is exactly what I did - was so hungry didn't even take a picture haha!) it was delicious & will definitely be back to try the other items on the menu! read more

The Spot Cafe is situated in Sunnyside. I enjoyed a cinnamon raisin bagel egg sandwich, which tasted as expected. It was pleasantly surprised me while unwrapping my sandwich. The service was prompt. I appreciated receiving an additional receipt in my order inside the wrapper. The cafe introduced me to a clever method, particularly beneficial when handling multiple orders to easily identify each one. The ambiance is irrelevant. The Spot Cafe is a great neighbor cafe with fair pricing, an extensive menu, and lots of other snacks available for purchase. I first tried them out via Too Good To Go where they gave me the most food I'd ever gotten through that app. Thankfully I had plenty of cash to tip them with. More recently I tried them out for lunch. My dad was visiting and we stopped by to check out their sandwiches. We had been talking about lox, and to our suprise they have a bagel sandwich called The New Yorker which is an everything bagel with plain cream cheese, thinly sliced red onions, thinly sliced tomatoes, capers, and of course, lox. It was well put together and so satisfying. I've already gone back for a second sandwich. And at about $11 plus tax, it feels like a really good deal. They also have smoothies which I want to try one of these days as well. I've heard good things from others on this place so look forward to trying more if I can get myself to branch out from The New Yorker. :o) I should also note that service is always super friendly too. AMAZING FOOD. Easily one of my favorite delis in NYC. Quality of orders is always top notch. We almost always get the Roma wrap, BLT wrap/sandwich with chipotle mayo, BEC, or tuna fish sandy/wrap. Expect longer than anticipated wait times (for NYC) at roughly 10-15 mins depending on what you order and how crowded it is. Spot does delivery/pickup, too, which might add to the time. Very friendly service. The food is excellent and is freshly made. Their smoothies, they use frozen fruit instead of watering it down with ice. I have been coming here since they opened a little more than a year ago. This is one of my go-to's including right after work from a refreshing cool me down on a hot day. Upon walking into this cute little spot you are greeted by a young person who was quick to take your order. Although whilst taking my order she stopped mid order to take an order on the phone and disregard me. It took 20 minutes to make an espresso a juice and a burrito whilst being the only patron in the store. It was the worst breakfast burrito I have ever had in my life! Was incredibly bland and not seasoned, half of the burrito was cold and half was hot. It is overpriced and not worth the headache or waste of money to dine here. The juice was fresh but flavorless, ordered a pineapple grapefruit and orange juice which had green chunks in it from the previous orders. I will not be returning ever and letting everyone know to stay away from this awful place. read more

I love the food from here. I've ordered about 3 times -- the food is always fresh, neatly packed and delivered. Very good. I ordered the Bello Wrap. They didn't have portabella mushrooms. I received a phone call about the change to regular mushrooms and OMG that wrap was amazing. read more

I was surprised no one wrote a review for this little neighborhood gem. I unexpectedly popped in and ordered a California Egg Sandwich and it was really tasty. It's what the neighborhood needed - a simple little take-out "cafe" that offers delicious quick bites for sandwiches. I also got a Coconut Milk cocoa date smoothie and it was SO good. I am glad I stopped in and will be dropping by more to pick up lunch/breakfast. I do recommend you order ahead and pick up so you dont have to wait in cold (since store front is pretty small) and you may not want to crowd in there! read more

Food isn't good, service is slow and help us rude especially women with glasses and tattoos.

From the beginning of them opening they would get my order wrong. Examples such prices changing depending who's in front and also such as I'll order an everything bagel with spinach tomato cream cheese salt pepper vinegar and I've received instead a bagel with cream cheese and spinach lol. I build my own smoothie and it always comes out a different color although I order it the same always. My patience left the day I was hungover as I work night life and I ordered a smoothie. She asked me 5 times about what I wanted in this smoothie and still got it wrong ... I had to go there myself to get it. I gave you guys the benefit of doubt because you were new and probably trying to figure out how to work best or the POS system but you've been here long enough to know what the prices are and especially someone who orders daily I feel that a good business just remembers they're regulars especially if they are simple. read more
