I love the salmon bowls but everytime I go, the pieces get smaller and smaller which I wouldn't be as upset about if they charged by weight. $18 is already pretty steep for a buffet and because pieces aren't standard and they scoop it, it's a wildcard for how much food you're going to get. The staff are nasty especially when you are getting a salad. When you ask to have an apple added to the salad where they just need to reach out grab one and cut it, feels like an extra chore to them. Today they put in my salad grapes with thick seeds inside the size of a lentil without consulting if I wanted green or red ones. The ingredients are disgusting and cheap. They have a juice bar with açaí bowels, fresh breakfast sandwiches and wraps, or even platters. It's always delicious and always really fresh and made with great ingredients. Tip: Try to order in person or place an order over the phone because they're prices are $3-4 cheaper in stores. I had no idea until I walked in and saw salads and bowls were only $10 (more for certain meats). I think this is the perfect healthy establishment that the neighborhood needed. I love their summer caprese salad. You can sub items and pick from dressings. I'm obsessed with their lentil bowl which is essentially rice, lentil soup, and a scoop of onions. Ask for a lemon wedge! They also have a delicious PBS sandwich (peanut butter, strawberry, and agave). You can get acai bowls and smoothies. Their market plates are great but the chicken and salmon are always overcooked. But their mac and cheese is delicious! The best part is you can see your food being made and know exactly where everything is coming from. If you have any allergies let them know because sometimes they use the same bowl to toss salads. I didn't read the reviews before I came in but I'm kind of wishing I did. I read them after I ate and my stomach turned with some of the violations they had. Mostly I was disappointed to see so much meat on the grill when the word VEGAN was on the window. I thought it was a vegetarian/vegan restaurant when I passed and saw the signs, so it makes me antsy to see that there may be cross contamination with meat in my vegan dishes. I ordered the vegan bowl and I was bummed to see it was $9.99 until I opened the bowl and saw the massive portion. Copious amounts of quinoa, hefty portion of spinach, and a great helping of hummus, avocado and garbanzo beans. I could only eat 1/4 of it before having to leave for the airport and left it for my dad to eat. Ingredients all seemed fresh and they were good. I didn't get sick after like other reviewers so perhaps they stepped up their game a bit. Loved the bright open dining space and the multiple stations (juice/smoothie bar, salad, grill, etc.). Manhattan has Sweetgreen, Astoria has Create. I'm a fan. For all your #basic bowl needs, this is your place. In fact, I think I like it even more than Sweetgreen. They have a different selection with fixin's like PLANTAINS! Also, my custom bowl was only $11. In the city it usually costs me ~$16, but that's because I have no self control. The staff is extremely friendly and it wasn't crazy busy (granted, I was here on a Sunday but still). I'm beyond excited that Create is blocks from me. 4.5 for acai bowls, 3 for smoothies. This review is purely based on the fruit section as I've never eaten at the main section. I LOVE their acai bowls. They used to run out during the day, but it seems like they've fixed that problem after seeing customers get annoyed which I'm glad about. The acai base is really delicious and you can change/add toppings if you don't like the options on the menu. My only complaint is that the portion sizes are significantly smaller than the other acai bowl places around town. Smoothies are hit or miss. In my experience it really depends on whether or not the employee adds a ton of ice and skimps on the fruits. Im not paying 7 bucks for a tasteless shushie, I want to be able to taste the fruits. It seems to be about 50/50 on whether or not the smoothie is good, not sure if the price warrants such a risk. read more

Came here to have lunch with a friend after helping him move in the area. I I actually have a Create in my neighborhood in Astoria but it's a lot smaller. This place is huge compared to mines, It's a beautiful store with great wide big windows in the front- you have all kinds of vegetarian healthy choices, meats, salads, shakes, soups you name it they have it. It has good seating but I would say that they need to get an awning for outside in the front door for the winter because every time someone opens the door and gets really cold in there. And maybe some automatic rolling blinds wouldn't hurt so the suns not in your eyes while you are trying to have a conversation or trying to eat (just saying-lol) My boy had the salad which was really good and I had some salmon with sweet potatoes, & sweet plantanes a little bit of rice. I came here Sunday and today with the same guy working the make your own bowl station. He makes awkward small talk, winks, and calls me babe with a disgusting look. Okay so, I go to Create on a very regular basis, maybe twice or even three times a week. I always get the Açaí banana berry bowl and although sometimes a bit too frozen, I've never had any major problems. Until today. Three bites into my bowl, I discovered a piece of plastic. Not happy about it but mistakes happen so I wasn't too upset and just removed it. BUT as I continued to eat I discovered not one, not two, but FIVE MORE pieces of plastic which is just not okay by any means. I ended up throwing away the rest of my food because I couldn't swallow another spoonful with the thought of getting a piece in my mouth again.
