Not worth it. Perhaps the juices or salads are better. I got a warm grain bowl, the rice and vegetables were very bland, no dressing or sauce and the protein (chicken) was very over cooked and dry. This is a pretty solid addition to the Ditmars health-y food scene. Create offers a range of food from juices to açai bowls to more hearty quinoa steak combinations and sandwiches. There's a good variety of choices and it's pretty decent service/speed. I've really enjoyed their juices as they freshly squeeze (and use clean produce). I have been enjoying their bowls and wraps. A lot of them you can customize how you want and they offer up a high range of selections and proteins of choice. Overall things are a bit expensive (the going trend in Astoria), but it's worth the price. It's a nice healthy chain experience in the neighborhood. read more

UPDATE: they changed management. So avoid this place. I came in for a small salad with steak. The new guy in training (very nice guy!) only put two strips of steak. I kindly asked him to add more and he did. The new manager was in the area and immediately asked him what that was for. Long story short, she decided the "extra" steak was worth 7$. Insane. I was in disbelief as an 11$ small salad had now turned out to be 20$. I asked the manager twice, like is this really the price for the "extra" two pieces of steak in my salad. She had input it as "open key", and she pointed at the receipt confirming this. Worst part, the steak was inedible. I am annoyed and simply at a loss of words that the charge of two pieces of steak was the cost of a whole new salad. Maybe she needs some training? The Hangover Juice (Coconut water, spinach, orange, and green apple): First off-the juice was perfectly cold. I find that some places that serve juice tend to serve the juice room-temperature/lukewarm thus resulting in bad juice. This has quickly become one of my favorite juices. Vegetable Egg White Omelette with Multigrain Toast: It was perfectly cooked, the vegetables were fresh, and the toast tasted really good, too. I didn't get the potatoes, so I can't speak to those, but they also looked delicious. I miss this place so much. This was my go to spot for all things healthy when I lived in Astoria (I ordered from here at least three times a week). Let me first start off by saying how much I truly , used to enjoy going to this place. A few times , here and there and as recently about a week or so ago, I became ill from eating here. Waking up with a full stomach in the morning, after eating the food at around 2 or even 3pm, feeling like throwing up, getting the runs and a fever. It was then no surprise to me when someone sent me a link with the news that this location got hit with about 60 violations. Now, I am more than aware that perhaps about a 1/3 of them were BS, take away utensils mixed in together, napkins mixed in with maybe the plastic bags or whatever, BS, I get it but the rest of them... 1) Hot food item not held at or above 140º F. 2) Cold food item held above 41º F (smoked fish and reduced oxygen packaged foods above 38 ºF) except during necessary preparation. 3) Filth flies or food/refuse/sewage-associated (FRSA) flies present in facility's food and/or non-food areas. Filth flies include house flies, little house flies, blow flies, bottle flies and flesh flies. Food/refuse/sewage-associated flies include fruit flies, drain flies and Phorid flies. 4) Food not protected from potential source of contamination during storage, preparation, transportation, display or service. 5) Wiping cloths soiled or not stored in sanitizing solution. 6) Facility not vermin proof. Harbor-age or conditions conducive to attracting vermin to the premises and/or allowing vermin to exist. That's just a few... the rest of them, well that takes a team effort So, if you have hands and I know that everyone at this location does, because they have all been complicit in getting that many violations and putting the rest of us at risk at getting food poisoning or worse, put them together and give a slow clap, to yourselves, to your coworkers, to the loss of customers, because everyone at this location is - complicit and sucks. That you have made shortcuts and put customers at risk is a disgrace and I along with some friends, will no longer be frequenting this place any longer. Perhaps going forward, cameras should be put in the kitchen and two front serving areas and TV's mounted on the wall for the customers to be able to view to keep them safe from any further violations. I haven't had a bad experience here yet. This is our go-to when we can't agree on what to order from Seamless because this menu has EVERYTHING. Sandwiches, salads, smoothies, açaí bowls, paninis, breakfast, juices, quinoa bowls, etc. I actually get overwhelmed sometimes looking at the menu. The juices are always really fresh and the East Village sandwich is very good (and big). We've also tried the Italian sub which was tasty. My boyfriend likes the açaí bowls. I've seen some poor reviews about the experience inside of create but I've honestly only ever ordered from seamless here so I can't say anything about the restaurant. Can someone please explain to me how a menu says that the toppings for an açaí bowl include strawberries as in plural but you only get ONE strawberry in your bowl chopped up? It really should say "strawberry." Not to mention, their bases are not flexible at all. I asked if there was plant-based protein which they do in fact have. But when I asked to substitute the whey protein in the base with plant-based, the employee told me that they come "pre-made." How would you cater to those who can't tolerate whey protein or are plant-based? For $8.99 I expected better quality especially since I was excited to try out their açaí bowls. I've passed this place a few times and never thought to try it. Now I'm following a more strict diet of whole foods and avoiding meats. This place gives me that options. I tried the The Natural Bowl. When I used to live in Astoria I would order from Create (Ditmars) very often . My typical order would be a Açaí bowl for breakfast with a coffee and if it was a lunch order my go to was the Peter Lugar Burger with brown rice and extra sauce on the side and there Ginger ale because it' comes in this green glass bottle and it's just the best ginger ale I ever had .. luckily we were in Astoria the other day and I asked my husband if we can order Lunch from them and thankfully he agreed . It seems like maybe they run out of certain things from their menu and instead of calling you to change the order they just give you something similar and hope you don't notice. I went with the fiance... and she bought a Mediterranean quinoa bowl, and I got their market chicken with string beans and brussels sprouts. The chicken was tender and juicy and the veggies were super filling and healthy. The place feels like a mini-Cheesecake Factory for the healthy, when it comes to the amount of options there are at this place. It can actually get a little overwhelming. I also got the watermelon-flavored lemonade which was refreshing and will probably be my go-to when the weather heats up this summer. Upon entering this huge place for Astoria, right away you notice the many menus. We honestly did not know what we wanted. So we went on Yelp to look at some pictures to get an idea. Who seemed like a manager walked up to us and told us to try the bowls either brown rice or quinoa. Then you ask for what type. We opted for Chipotle Bowl. Then add protein. I got grilled chicken. My lady got salmon. They start making your bowl right infront of you. Everything seemed fresh to us. Although the chicken and salmon could have used more seasoning it was a bit on the bland side. Have to give a 3 here since your experience is going to depend so heavily on what you get. The good: the salads and parfaits . Awesome flavors, decent size, a bit pricey but no more than a Chopped or Sweet Greefor example. Not only was it not piping hot like hot drinks are supposed to be, but it also tasted like a cup of warm milk mixed in with matcha powder. First off, let me start this review by saying that the food here is excellent. Very high quality, healthy, varied options. Spot on. Atmosphere is excellent too. This review is about the terrible service from the guys preparing your food behind the counter. Especially at salad bar, but also at the other counters as well. I live a block away from this spot so I end up coming in quite regularly. So do both of my roommates. We've actually had a discussion collectively, all three of us, about how bad we're treated by the guys behind the counter. They don't listen to you, they're annoyed by your presence, they're downright rude. I order a salad. I say I want a light ingredient, they put on a huge qty. I ask for light dressing and say I'll tell him when to stop, he starts pouring like there is no tomorrow- I literally have to yell to stop!! It's pretty frustrating, especially because we all come here all the time- it's on the way home, and like I said the food quality is spot on. I won't stop eating here. But managers please, I beg you, retrain your staff behind the counter. It really messes up what is otherwise an excellent restaurant. read more

Always fresh flavors and top quality. I come here often at all times of the day and will always be a loyal customer. They have a juice bar on the left that makes an amazing acaì bowl. I usually get a salad from create when I'm feeling healthy but today I got the banana berry acai bowl and wow was I blown away! (Granted it was my first ever acai bowl so I don't have anything to compare it to, also pretty sure I pronounced acai wrong when I ordered). When she first handed it to me I was like, what! I paid almost $9 for this tiny thing? But it's super delicious and very filling, I had enough for almost 2 meals.
