Schaller & Weber is the best! Their sandwiches are packed and flavorful, the pantry items are so fun to look through, and the people who work there are so helpful. I recently came in needing to get some cheeses and meats for a friend who is pregnant and they helped me select ones that she could eat, letting me sample along the way! They know their stuff and the quality of their meats & cheeses are fantastic. read more

This is a meat store/ German market that has been around in this area for ages. I don't think I have ever had a sandwich from here before. I got turkey with crispy bacon bits, guac on the side and there were tomatoes on here too. It was pretty tasty. They have many other kinds of meats here and other german items here. I am going to be back and check out more of their sandwiches. The people who work here are nice. This is a small place, but it has alot in it. read more

I really want to give this place 5 stars, but am not able to. Here are the pros: -Lots of good options and the deli offers items you're not going to see most places -Butcher items also looked good, but haven't bought any yet -Beer selection is excellent, especially if you like German beer -Staff very friendly Cons (hence the 4/5 rating): -It takes a LONG time to get sandwiches here. They prioritize Seamless orders over in-store ones. Prepare to wait 25+ minutes and we weren't warned about the backlog -Sandwiches are good, but small. Not worth $19-22. Milano market will cost you the same and give you 2x as much food We'll try again eventually, but the wait and portion size was off-putting. read more

I purchase 60$ worth of old dry cold cuts. The land Jagger was so old when I bit into it, it turned to dust. The bacon was older than Kieser Wilhelm the 1st. THEY DO NOT THROW AWAY OLD FOOD. Disgusting read more

Been going to schaller & Weber butchers to get my meats, the service is excellent and the meats are always top notch quality. This time I got some French bistro style ham which I definitely indulge in occasionally. And especially when hubby misses his German roots Schaller and Weber is what makes him happy! read more

I really love Schaller and Weber's meat products. I was disappointed that the Haribo candy that I purchased was stale - for the premium you pay they should take better care to make sure their sundries are top quality. read more

Honestly, the sandwiches are way too overpriced. I ordered what was basically the Italian , it just wasn't that good soggy and salty and very expensive. I had high hopes, even though this isn't an Italian deli. read more

Must try: Italian Sandwich! Why: One of the best Italian Sandwich I've ever had! Filled with Prosciutto, Smoked Coppa, Mortadella, Stracciatella, Fried Eggplant, and Roasted Red Peppers in a seeded hero. The fried eggplant was unique to me and I thought it added great flavor and texture. Definitely worth the price because it was a big sandwich and every bite was heavenly. Notes: I'm ashamed to say I've lived on the UES for 7 years and finally just stepped foot into this awesome German shop, which also sells German beer! I can't wait to return to try other sandwiches, deli meats, and beer! read more

Schaller & Weber - Italian ($19) - Butcher Near Me - New York, New York

I've enjoyed their liverwurst for years...BUT this year it obviously has had some kind of filler added to it! Doesn't smell like liverwurst, looks too smoothe and creamy w airbubbles?, and worst of all tasted like gelatin. Zero flavor. I had my German friend here and we both agreed, filler. We even bent it in half and it is more like rubber than any liverwurst. I know times are toough but really??? read more

One of the greatest deli sandwiches I have ever had in my life. It's on the pricier side but 10000% worth it. Every aspect of it was insane. The Turkey club was absolutely amazing. The bread itself is soft which I really like. On the pricier side $20 after tax for a sandwich but dang was it good. Also the deli itself is fun. Want to go back and try some things out. Such a great atmosphere! read more

This is one of the most famous butcher shops in the city. S&W has been supplying hungry Upper East Siders with charcuterie and more since FDR was popping wheelies around the White House. It's no surprise that S&W are still doing their meaty thing. The quality is legit. But you may not realize--this place also sells banging sandwiches. I mean, it makes sense. God only knows how many metric tons of meat S&W has sold in their 85 years. Nonetheless, they did not have to make their sammys go so hard. The Italian hero is fantastic. The protein to carb ratio is heavily in your favor, but there is more to the composition than just bread and meat. The fried zucchini and red pepper add acid and snap, for balance. The result is a heavenly deliciousness. Best of all, the lines here are reasonable. Unlike other neighborhood delis that I shall not name here, you won't wait 30+ minutes in line before ordering. You can be in and out in 10 with a bag full of thin sliced heaven. read more

I had the Cubano, hot. I was like nothing I've ever had before. The meat just melted in my mouth, its kinda indescribable. Amazing deli on the UES, lots of options to choose from. Service is great even on busy weekends! Perfect spot to go to on Sunday mornings.

Stopped in for lunch. Pretty interesting place. You go up to an outside window and order your food and drink. There is a small seating and standing area to eat. I ordered the classic with potato salad. The classic is a bratwurst, sauerkraut and mustard on a pretzel roll. The brat as flavorful, the kraut a little sweet and mustard not the spicy. The pretzel roll was soft. The potato salad was German. Very good. I had a tall Ebbs Lager a very refreshing beer. The guy who took my order was very friendly. read more

Schaller & Weber is the only place I buy my bacon. Their double smoked bacon is incredible! They will slice it for you to your desired thickness. There is no going back to any pork or turkey bacon, no matter how well it tastes like the real thing. This is the real thing and the only thing in my book! Oh yes, they have a myriad of other great things on offer: sandwiches, wurst, fried chicken, baked wonders, beer and their house made mustards. I always buy their house made mustard. Some days they have some special offerings behind the deli and meat counter, such as Schweinshaxen. Stop here during the Holidays and you will not be disappointed, especially with their special baked goods. Four stars read more

Awesome sausage and the beef sticks with hot honey are so smokey and delicious I'll be sure and try all of you other products

The price is steep if you compare to it in Germany. But hey they brought the stuff all the way from Germany so you have to take shipping into consideration. When I came into the shop, I felt that I walked into a mini Germany. It's got all the groceries from Germany, from the chocolates, sweets, to seasoning like Maggi and Löwensenf (mustard). The meat section is impressive too. It's got most of the sausages that we ate in Germany. It's even got the type of beef for Rollladen. I might be speaking Code language by now, but if you're looking for something to prepare for your German home cooking, this place can provide what you're looking for. read more

Great service and amazing quality deli meats. The people at the deli counter are very friendly and take the time to make a sandwich exactly how you request, and give great suggestions for what goes well together. Schaller & Weber - Two deli sandwiches - Butcher Near Me - New York, New York

Make that 1.5 stars. My husband and I keep returning here despite the high prices , indifferent management, and faulty technology. Today is our last time. It was a disparaging visit (however the cashier are pleasant); the credit card intake broke down (again) and my husband and I were held back to get cash at the Chase across the street in order to get cash instead of the usual credit payment (customer before us had to forgo his purchase). Unbelievable sticker shock, with no explanation, for basically everything. And, all Austrian wines, no German wines? Alle its Schade. Bitte, machen Sie besser. Danke Sehr. read more

Oh buddy. You picked the right place. Stopped by because I was craving a reuben and saw they had it on the menu. It's on challah, it's got pastrami cut so perfectly -- there's no stringiness -- and the ratio of kraut, dressing, and meat is just right. The sandwich artist/master/god told me it'd put me to sleep with the portion size, and he was right. Just a lovely little spot with great sandwiches and it looked like great deli meat. I feel very lucky to have picked it! read more

They have the best bones for dogs! Just purchased a Smoked Marrow Bone Dog Treat! It's huuuge like my dog! Only 9.99 and he is chewing on it and I don't exist for him right now! Perfect for when you have to go to a movie on a Friday night! He'll be entertained for hours on end! Also: the cashier and the crew behind the counter are top notch people! Super friendly! A store member came out of the store to pet my dog! And this is how I found out that they sell dog bones! It smells super good too btw! Yesterday we got one at Petco; but this is on a whole new level! Definitely will be a regular here now! And they love Benny! read more

This is a review of the small food stand next to the main store. First off, nobody comes out to wipe off the 2 tables, which are sticky and dirty with old sauerkraut. I asked the woman at the stand for some napkins and she tells me that are on the table. I look, and I tell her they aren't there. She says in a louder, annoyed voice, "THEY ARE ON THE TABLE!" I look again and now I can see they are on the OTHER table, and they had been hidden from view because of somebody standing there. Ok, so, not super nice. We ordered 2 currywursts, which we love, generally. They came out super undercooked, almost mushy, with not enough sauce. Very disappointing experience. Will not go back. read more

I think I just found my favorite deli to become a regular at! Everyone here has been sweet, funny, and quick to give samples. At first I was confused, and then I realized they just know that their meat and cheese will sell itself if you just get a taste. I love the variety of German goods in this place. I haven't thoroughly explored, but the couple of times I've been here the number of German sweets towards the front jumped out at me. I've also gotten a couple of sandwiches here. Both were delicious. Personally I asked to have some greens added to my Italian, and it was perfect. I've been to some very traditional delis where they know their meat is good and are therefore heavy handed with how much they put in a sandwich. I'm all about balance in a sandwich. If you want to put lots of meat, great! Just give me a decent amount of greens or whatever else to level it out. I can honestly say the sandwiches here were filling, proportionally filled with goods, and tasty. The sandwiches (and most things here really) are pricier than your average corner store, so I'd recommend splitting! For two sandwiches and two bags of chips I paid nearly $50. The sandwiches are big enough to be satisfied by half, with some chips. I can tell coming here will expose me to new delicious deli meats, cheeses, and uncommon brands that I would not find elsewhere. Excited to keep coming back. read more

Fantastic German deli right off the new 2nd ave train station. They have a wide selection of patés as well which is a really nice surprise. Delicious cold cuts- always handing out samples, meats, a wide selection of head cheese- which is a major plus for me, and a ton of German general store items! They also serve premade goods, cheeses, all around awesome meat shop. I always make sure to wander in here whenever I'm in the area. ALSO ALL THE MUSTARDS! Don't forget you can order sandwiches and hotdogs either inside or at the service window at outside the store. read more

This is a great butcher, but it is now using its success to fleece customers to the extreme. Prices are already sky high, but now they even charge you $32 for a couple of bones to make bone marrow! Ridiculous. Bones are usually discarded by butchers. I only go there exceptionally, there are alternatives with as good meat, and a 40% better prices. read more

I walked by and couldn't resist the smell ! The sausage tasted as good as it smelled. I got the spicy option and it tasted so good. I asked for sauerkraut. The sausage comes on a warm pretzel bun. had a terrible experience today at the store on 2nd Ave. I'm a very good customer, and today, 03/05/2024, I got somebody to help me out with my order( after almost 15 minutes waiting for someone to show up..)which I did not know the name, wearing glasses and full of tattoos!! He made all the containers extremely messy and he sliced the roast beef like a disgusting chewed piece of gum. I complained and he got upset, because he was chatting with his co worker, and he did not pay attention to my order!!! I order half pound, when I got home I noticed there was only 0.265 instead of 0.500... This is unacceptable for this business!! hope it changes soon.. read more
