Sweetleaf is a really nice little cozy spot in LIC. Seems like it would be a good spot to go with some friends if some of you want to have a cocktail, but others don't. The latte I had (maple leaf latte) was a very nice flavor and just the right sweetness. Highly recommend stopping in and checking this place out if you are in the area.

My boyfriend and I have been coming here this past year and service has gotten worse. I had learned about Sweetleaf when I went to a cafe in Harriman, NY that told me they get their beans from Sweetleaf. The first few times we came was just us two and it was nice on a Sunday morning since most of the tables are for 2 people. Our favorite drink, the Voodoo Child (a Vietnamese-style cold brew) is rich and delicious. However, about a month ago, things took a disappointing turn when I came with a group of friends. The barista seemed unfriendly, not even acknowledging my "thank you" after placing the order. My friend also experienced the same indifference. To add to the disappointment, the staff asked our group to relocate outside to a table that was in a warmer area after we had already settled in the room. This experience saddened me because I was introducing four new people to this cafe, and it didn't reflect the pleasant experiences we initially had.

The most delicious chai tea latte and the cutest place! 10/10 highly recommend and I've already gotten 5 punches on my punch card and it's only been a few weeks

The weather was amazing and having some coffee in an outdoor area was the place be. Sweetleaf provided that with its nicely set outdoor area. We stopped by for some coffee and a quick bite on a Sunday afternoon. We ordered oyster which were only 1.50 during happy hour! We also got a chicken sandwich. Both were very satisfying. The oysters were actually quite fresh and tasty. The chicken sandwich was pretty large to be honest and we were glad we shared that. A pleasant experience for sure.

Really great vibe you can see how items were repurposed to give older look in the establishment. The manager was a lovely lady who took the time to tell me about her vegan and vegetarian options; I'm not a vegetarian but I do like options that do not include meat. The lentil soup was delicious the asparagus cooked perfectly and my friend had a vegan egg sandwich that was amazing. I'd love to return here

This is a great, cozy, spot you can grab a quick lunch at if you're in the area. Indoor and outdoor seating for those perfect summer days. The rocket fuel is good but the maple leaf latte was phenomenal. The salads are delicious and the chicken quesadillas are surprisingly great.

Absolutely horrible. I never write reviews, let alone negative ones, but I'm so pissed. Took 50 minutes to get two sandwiches. When we checked in, they said it would be out in 2 minutes, but it took 20 more minutes from that point. No apology, no offer for a refund, nothing. The food itself looks like it was basically thrown into the containers as you can see, and one of the sandwiches was missing the hashbrowns that are supposed to be in it -- and it is literally called an egg and HASH ciabatta sandwich. Don't go here.

3.5 stars. Came here for happy hour which is 3 - 7pm every day. They had four cocktails for $10, which are the margarita, aperol spritz, moscow mule and an old fashioned. They also have $6 chips and guac, $6 chicken tacos (comes with two) and $1 oysters during happy hour. This place is a coffee shop by day and then a bar at night (although technically it can be both at all times of the day depending on who you are). They have a table or two outside and then a few tables inside. The staff was super friendly and nice. All the happy hour cocktails were OK, but at $10 for happy hour, I was expecting better. They were very standard and didn't taste like anything special. We also got the chicken tacos which looked very bland, but actually tasted delicious. And they were pretty big. Finally, we got the oysters, which were super fresh and tasted good, although I wish they provided regular cocktail sauce. Instead they had a hybrid cocktail sauce and hot sauce combined and some kind of pickled onion mix I believe. But still worth getting if you are here for happy hour. The ambiance here is a bit unusual. We snagged a table by the window so we were able to watch people in the dog park struggle with their dogs and kids. It is a bar, but at 4 - 5pm there is a weird mix of people who are trying to have a nice cocktail and also parents coming in with strollers trying to get coffee, which I feel like ruins the vibe. It would be cooler if they had the bar seating in the back or something. It is also not clear when you walk in that it is a cocktail place and you need to wait in line with the coffee drinkers to get a seat. Overall, not a bad place to stop in. Definitely reasonably priced for the area, but also there are some better deals out there if you venture a little further away from the water. They also do to go cocktails if you are going to hang out by the water, but not sure what the price they would charge you would be.

Quick and easy, solid spot but uninspiring when it comes to flavor. Dropped by for breakfast on a Saturday morning, as it's just across from Gantry park. The outdoor space is pretty and clean but the hum of air conditioners overwhelms the organic street sounds - kids, dogs, birds and the occasional moving truck. Over easy eggs were runny enough to dip toast. The mountain climber omelette was packed with Spinach, feta and tomatoes, a nice blend. The coffee is typical strong dark bitter blend. All in all, I would definitely drop by for convenience but wouldn't search it out if I was looking for that killah breakfast "thang".

Pretty good coffee shop. I live right here so it's convenient to go to Sweefleaf. I wish the cold brew was stronger, but at least the coffee here doesn't break your bank account. They also offer different milk options free of charge. Would go here again in the summer / try out their cocktail bar!

The biggest question then became, where to go? We needed a place that was relatively easy to get to that would hold close to 100 people. Jungly was a contender for several reasons - it's location, size, vibe, and menu all seemed to check off. It also helped that I had done business with the owner previously at one of his other spots. It seemed like the natural choice, so I went ahead with the booking. Jungly is located in LIC - it's a pretty convenient spot as its close to the LIRR and the subway. Parking can be a challenge, but luckily I found a spot only a block away. The space itself is nicely set up - walking in you're immediately greeted by the bar area with dining areas both to the left and the right. Due to our size, they closed the place to the public and we were able to freely roam the bar area and one of the dining rooms. In addition to standard tables, they have some lounge space and high tops by the bar. The vibe is somewhat modern - a black/grey color scheme paired with neon and golds. It looks like the space could easily be converted to a club-like atmosphere. Since we were here for a private event, the food was set up buffet style - we chose three apps, four mains, and two sides. Ultimately, for apps we chose pita bread with dips, steak tacos, and shrimp tacos. For mains we chose fried chicken sliders, smashed beef sliders, cacio e pepe, and roasted chicken. For sides, we got fries and Brussels sprouts. In general, all of the food was tasty; the strongest dishes were the tacos, fries, and the chicken tacos. The tacos were generously filled, the fries were the crispy skin style, and the chicken sliders were nice and crispy. The weakest for me was the cacio e pepe - not much flavor and just not really a standout IMO. My communication with management to set up the event were a little staccato, though in the end everything worked out. For the most part, my communication with them was consistent in the days leading up to the event. Service the night of the event was overall good - they were very accessible but I found that they could have replenished the food a little faster in response to the rate it was being taken from the buffet. The bar, on the other hand, was great - both in service and variety of liquor available. Overall, we had a great event at Jungly. They were professional, fair, and delivered on the goods. I would definitely consider hosting another event there, or dine here on my own.

The bartender, the one person who should be welcoming and engaging, came across as rude and lacked any charisma. On a Friday night, good energy behind the bar makes a huge difference, and that was completely missing. I ordered a margarita, which is one of the simplest and most common cocktails to make. I asked for it really sweet with plenty of salt on the rim. Instead, it came out barely sweet and with almost no salt. For a $17 margarita, I expected much better. I've had to return the drink because I've had better margaritas for $12 at other places. While waiting for my friend, I had to wait with a glass of water because I didn't trust the way they made the drink. The bartender told me I either needed to order another drink or move, which felt unnecessarily rude and unwelcoming. To be fair, the food was good and the space itself is nice. However, the bar service left a very poor impression. There are plenty of more affordable places where the staff are friendly and make guests feel welcome. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend this place. Give this place a 6.5
