Truffle fries
Matt M.

I went here during wing night ($1 on Wednesdays). They have essentially three seating areas: a lounge, a dining area and a more informal area. We chose the informal area and it was well lit with the surrounding windows and large TVs. I wasn't a fan of the loud rap playlist but you can't make everyone happy. I have to say, their fries are amazing, really amazing. I took advantage of the wing special and I have to say I was disappointed in the hotness of the seasoning. I do like spicy so I got what I thought was the second and third spiciest option, or what I thought they were. The Jerky and sweet chili did not have any kick to it. I tried the Buffalo (the middle of their hotness meter) and that was way hotter than my order. So they may want to recreate that meter. But it was good and I enjoyed them. Typically this would be 3 stars but they had a Cab Franc on the menu and I rarely see that at a restaurant.

I ate here once, the food was not good. I later found out that Jungly was not paying its workers and today the City of New York closed down Jungly for non payment of taxes. They steal from their workers and steal from the city, good riddance.

As a fan of Queens Bully, I was excited to try their sister location. The decor at this restaurant/lounge is beautiful. My friends and I decided to visit on St. Patrick's Day after seeing their promotions on Instagram, expecting a lively atmosphere. However, upon arrival, we found it fairly empty with only a few tables occupied. Surprisingly, there was no DJ despite the promotion of their bottomless brunch. A DJ could have added to the experience and drawn more patrons. Despite the lack of crowd, our waiter took 10 minutes to take our drink orders. When the food arrived, everything including our appetizers came out at once. The menu options for brunch were limited and on the pricey side. The bottomless deal, priced at $56 per person, seemed steep considering the offerings. I opted for the fried chicken with eggs Benedict, which was decent but insipid. A touch of spice would have elevated the dish. My friend's blueberry pancakes looked really good, though. I will say, everything looked great but tasted a bit average. The redeeming factors were the festive green drinks for St. Patty's Day and the complimentary cake pops. While the spot has potential, I wouldn't rush back based on this experience.

Loved the atmosphere in this place and wasn't too busy when we arrived on a Saturday early evening. The vibe is a mix of island, and the music reminded me of Hawaii with several Pacific reggae artists playing. Food tried included, Da-Yum Arancini (yum indeed), Avocado fries (yummy as well), Jungly Burger, Bossatini & Pepe, and Jerk Chicken Kathi Roll. All were delicious. Really hope they are able to stick around as I'd love to go back.

FROZEN MARGARITA

It's always strange passing by here and seeing it empty! I think it's probably also because it's a huge space, so they have a ton of seating. The decor is really pretty, and when it gets a certain time, the restaurant dims the lights and puts on mood lighting with a red tint lol. My friend and I came here for Taco Tuesday- we each got tacos and a frozen marg. The margs were really good, and the tacos were a good price, considering there's a ton of protein. I ordered the shrimp and the pork belly. The pork belly was very fatty, but it did have a lot of pork in it! Both tacos had a really good mix of textures, so I enjoyed. We also shared a Puccia with eggplant Caponata. ($6 + $8). It was good quality, but I don't know if I would order again. Overall, it was a fun dinner night with a friend, with great (strong) drinks. I'd recommend to check out!

I came to Jungly with a large group on a Saturday night and we were seated right away next to the DJ. We loved the music playing and the DJ and staff asked us several times if the temperature was comfortable inside, which we appreciated. The interior looks upscale and we enjoyed taking photos inside. The food was delicious. The Basic AF Flatbread was an elevated margarita pizza. The sauce was loaded with flavor and reminded me of pizza I had in Italy.

This place has been around for. Couple of years and working to find its footing but my last time there I met the new bar manager Robert. He's excellent and am sure you'll love the service he provides. He mixes up all his custom and fresh chasers, juices, Bloody Mary mixes etc. had a Bloody Mary and can attest it was really flavorful and complex. He's also putting on dj on Fridays and other I store sponsored programs so give it a try. Also had quac Chips and tacos and all of those were tasty.

Jungly is one of my fav local spot by my apartment. I dont come here often enough but everytime i do i always had a great time. I like sitting at the bar trying all their cocktails, everyone here are so nice and accomodating and their food are delicious!!! I love their chicken wings and their arancini. The place is super spacious with a great vibe so i like taking my friends here and chill for hours. I brought my group of friends over from manhattan during the crazy rainstorm recently and they just made our day! They had to close the kitchen early due to the storm but they let us order food from outside while we continued to hang out and sip on all the yummy cocktails. I really recommend jungly if you havent try them out yet!

The vibes in this place is amazing, they have a DJ, there's a bar, there's lounge seating, and dining seating area. We really enjoyed coming here for brunch and the waiting staff was very attentive despite how busy it was becoming. The space is also very big because at the other side it seemed there was another event being hosted, too. We enjoyed the papardelle bolognese and risotto a lot! The crème brulle and tiramisu also hit the spot!! We came for the restaurant week menu but definitely plan to come back to try their other small plates selection.

Came here on a weekday to celebrate a birthday and the service was impressive and food was amazing! The staff also told me that they have taco Tuesdays and brunch on weekends so I will definitely be coming back. The Bao buns were soft and delicious, it felt like I was tasting a cloud in heaven. I love the diverse mixture of food options and the sexy decor. The bar is a full bar and the drinks are on point!

I was very excited to welcome Jungly into the neighborhood, so much so that I visited the first week. The ambiance is fun and sexy, they offer live music, the staff is super nice but during my first visit I was a bit underwhelmed by the food and drinks. I was hesitant to write a review and decided to chalk it up to it being opening week so I decided I would come back and last night I returned. They changed up most of the menu and I am not sure if this is particular to Tuesday but they were offering all night happy hour! To drink I had a spicy passionfruit marg on the rocks and a frozen mango marg both were very good! In my previous visit I had the brick and basil cocktail which was lacking in flavor but these margs reinvigorated my faith in Jungly's bar staff. To eat we shared the truffle fries which were pretty delicious as far as fries go with a hint of truffle that was on the lighter side but still very present without feeling overwhelming. For my entrée I had a generous side salad which was mostly made of arugula, cherry tomatoes, and some light vinaigrette along with the garlic parmesan grilled cauliflower wings. Both were good and I really liked that the cauliflower wings were grilled and not fried in some thick batter which celebrated the flavor of the vegetable with a healthier preparation. Since we went towards the end of the night and were having such a great time we lost track of time and missed out on dessert this time. Last time we had the lava cake which along with the rest of the meal was underwhelming but they reminded us several times they have a NEW CHEF and I can definitely taste the difference. I hope they continue to improve as they have the potential to be a great addition to the neighborhood!

They did a fantastic job transforming the inside, creating a cozy/chic atmosphere. You can pop in for flavorful cocktails at the bar or enjoy a 10/10 dinner. If you're looking for food, I'd recommend: - The brussels sprouts - great reduction/marinade with a tiny bit of spice - The short rib with demi-glaze over a bed of mashed potatoes is my favorite item on the menu - The chicken parm is delicious and a huge portion - 4 of the 6 people in our party ordered lasagna and agree it needs to become a staple on the menu - Lastly.. The bread pudding. You won't find a better bread pudding in all of NYC. The vanilla bean ice cream is placed on top of "fresh out the oven" cinnamon bread drizzled with raisins and caramel. The staff was…read morefriendly, and the atmosphere was nice, with plenty of people inside along with our large group. The menu isn't the largest, but they gave a long list of specials on a separate menu. The specials don't have their price listed, which made it a bit awkward ordering, as I asked about a bunch of the main dishes, which were all apparently $50 to $60. In terms of drinks, we split a large selection of BYOB as per the group. I decided to go with an appetizer and pasta. However, in retrospect, I probably should have gotten the Branzino Alla Livornese, or another fish dish as my main dish, or skipped the appetizer entirely and ordered one of the expensive fish dishes. My appetizer was the pretty good Polpette for $14, listed as homemade meatballs, tomato sauce, and shaved parmesan cheese. This came with several small soft meatballs with a decently flavored tomato sauce. I slightly prefer other spots, which gave larger meatballs as they have more texture, but they were fine, and the number of them makes it so you can split this dish. This was good enough. My main dish, rather regrettably, was the $26.95 Tagliatelle Ai Funghi with shiitake, cremini, portobello, oysters, and marsala wine. The portion was decent, and the pasta was decently cooked, though slightly soft for my liking. There was a good amount of mushrooms, which paired well with the very typical wine sauce, but there was another major issue with said sauce. The dish contained many sprigs of charred aromatics mixed among the sauce and mushrooms, which were presumably thyme, judging by the earthy aftertaste. The charred pieces overwhelmed the delicate flavor of the sauce and the pasta, also having a very unappetizing texture. It wasn't like it was just large pieces that could be easily picked out, so I occasionally got an overly earthy and bitter bite. I would have brought this up with the waitstaff, but they were very overwhelmed, so eventually I stopped eating. This place had friendly staff, and many other dishes looked tasty. However, I didn't have the best dining experience.

As for drinks and food, you likely can't go wrong with any of their menu selections. "Must try" items include the Lemon Dahl -- a.k.a. yellow lentils (trust me; get this) -- the Chicken Tikka, and Seekh Kabab (ground lamb). My friend and I already ate, so we opted just to sit at the bar. It's a busy place, but cozy enough. Can be a little loud. Good mixture of people, some folks with friends, some appeared to be on dates, mixture of young-ish and older-ish place. There were some heavy hors d'oeuvres which included your tropical charcuterie options, fried calamari and artichoke, and mini arancini. I must say, that arancini was amaaaaaazing. I didn't want to be greedy so I only had two, and I'm still kicking myself for being so modest. They were worth the calories. Luciano was the main server for the mixer and recommended a white wine that I cannot remember. I want to thank him as I frequently get migraines afterwards and even though I had three glasses, I woke up feeling fine. My colleagues and I stayed for dinner and Luciano was our server (yay!). He was so charismatic and attentive during our meal. I ended up trying the l'hamburger which was made with rib tips, while most of my team went for the steak. The burger was probably one of the best that I've had - there was so much flavor and it was really moist. Also, it was the perfect size. I left feeling satisfied, but not overwhelmed or heavy. The fries weren't really fries, though. They were potato wedges, and they didn't really add much to the meal. I didn't finish them. Although we opted out of desert, Luciano brought out complementary tiramisu and a slice of hazelnut cake for the table to share. I definitely enjoyed my experience.

The coolest thing about the Mark Bar was something we've never seen in a bar. Many had their dogs with them in the bar. It was a nice treat for us since we love pups. Every designer breed you can imagine was enjoying the beautiful space with their people. Another nice touch was the gourmet hot chocolate and chili dog cart they had stationed on the sidewalk outside next to the hotel entrance. We regrettably passed on the chili dog, but had their prize winning hot cocoa. So good!!! The Mark Bar is chic and warm. It oozes stylish and loungy. We struck up a number of friendly discussions with folks around us when one of our crew thought they lost their phone at the bar. Everyone dropped what they were doing to help us look for it.
