Came back to R40 to finally try their dinner menu, and overall it was super delicious! Just a heads-up that portions are on the smaller side, we came with a group of 6, but this spot feels much better suited for groups of 2 to 4. Tuna Tartare ($28) | 5/5: this was refreshing with a delicious citrusy tang Arugula Pesto Gnocchi ($26) | 4.5/5: Loved this! The gnocchi was thinly sliced and cooked perfectly, and the zucchini slices were a highlight. Arroz Negro ($24) | 4.5/5: Rich and creamy with a great depth of squid ink flavor. The crispy fried calamari topped it off nicely. Calabrian Pork Ragu ($26) | 4.25/5: Had a slight gamey note, but overall a solid pasta dish Skirt Steak ($60) | 4.25/5: R40 is known for their steaks, and this was definitely way better than the dry aged, though I've had better before. El Classico Empanada ($8) | 4.25/5: Loved how meaty, flaky, and savory this was. Crab & Shrimp Empanada ($9) | 4/5: Appreciated how large the empanada was, but it could've used more crab and shrimp filling Red Snapper ($56) | 4/5: Perfectly cooked fried snapper, loved that it was boneless and easy to share 30-Day Dry-Aged NY Strip ($96) | 3/5: Pretty disappointing for a dry-aged steak. It felt overcooked for medium-rare and was quite tough/rough. read more

First off the ambiance is vibey and cute for a date night. I love the open concept with the kitchen. And the service is just ayce!! The staff and everyone was just INCREDIBLE. So personable and friendly. Between each course (appetizer, main, dessert) they clean ur table and gave fresh utensils and plates. Which I feel is a rare thing to do (at least back at home in CA). Now the food, AMAZING. We've been here in NY and had our fair share of vibey restaurants and hole in the walls. But this place serves vibes and actually lives up to the food. Usually you get one or the other but man I would def come back!! Check the pics for the food (: cheers! read more

My friend and I decided to come here for dinner - they have both indoor and outdoor seating (the outdoor seating also be a vibe; it is in the back of the resturant). The staff was super friendly and checked in on us pretty often to make sure that we were doing okay. -Arroz Negro: This dish was pretty unique - the prawn was very tender and the flavors were good. -Empanada Basket: HIGHLY recommend this; their empanadas was really good and a good size as well. You also get to try all three of their empanadas with this so highly recommend this -10 oz prime black angus skirt steak: This was actually pretty solid steak, it was a solid medium rare (which is what we asked for) and the flavors were really good as well. -Fries: The fries were okay, not my favor but I always need a side of fries. Overall - solid dinner option, highly recommend checking it out if you are in the area. read more

R40 is a great Argentinian restaurant albeit I'm not exactly sure if I would constitute their menu as authentic Argentinian food versus a fusion of some sort. My friend & I ordered the jumbo lump crab & shrimp empanada, chicken milanesa napolitana, & the skirt steak. Absolutely everything was delicious- nothing missed a beat. The drinks were slightly watered down IMHO but were tasty- I got the bandolero. All in all, I'd come back. read more

Absolutely delicious. Came for brunch and they did not disappoint. The empanada basket was wonderful--spinach, beef, and seafood. Loved the variety and they each were so flavorful, didn't even need the sauces, although they were also delicious. Flaky and warm, would get again for the table but loved eating it as a meal as well. Love the atmosphere. Our waiter was very attentive and the coffee was delicious, even though he prefaced that he was a bartender. There's also outdoor seating in the back that seems like it'd be enjoyable in the summer. Two gender neutral single stall restrooms although one was out of toilet paper when we went. read more

DO NOT EAT HERE. First of all I am a person that gives reviews only when needed and I don't get paid for this as you can seen my invoice. This is the first red flag, for a restaurant with a 4.5 stars in NYC will never be empty. Definitely this reviews are paid. Yesterday I was so excited as I will meet up with ex-coworkers after a year at R40, a 4.5 rated restaurant in Vernon Blvd (a neighborhood where I used to work for 5 years), in LIC. It says is a high quality Argentinian restaurant. I said wooo this going to be good. Ambient Review I was surprised of how a beautiful place like this could be so empty with such good specials in the bar on Wednesday nights. It says cocktails were in $13 and that's what I usually drink. 1st Red Flag: restaurant was empty, is a pretty big restaurant and only two tables were open, a couple that was drinking and leaving when I arrived (utensils were intact so believe there were not eating) and my friend's table. 2nd Red Flag: it was so hot, thought it was me, but no, there was not a/c on on a 86 degrees summer evening in NYC and a big grill on. Bad move, they turned down the light so it won't be too hot but I asked for light as I don't eat food in a place that I never been without light. The fire alarm started to ring. There was so much smoke and I couldn't think they were burning the food I will eat after. The grill was too hot. Food Review: 1. Sangria: I got a cup of iced wine with a slice of orange and I was charged for $17. No soaked chopped fruits in it. It was full with ice cubes. First disappointment. 2. We asked for empanadas. I took the beef one. When I cut it, to my surprise, was ground beef (never have a ground beef Argentina's empanadas both many cubes of potatoes) first and only bite: dough tasted as Goya circled premade doughs, no flavor for the beef and the potatoes need to be boiled as you won't overcook the dough to cook the potatoes? Well the dough was a little burned outside and the potatoes were raw this was more that disappointing, I was disgusted. But was hoping for the main dish will be the star. 3. Parrillada for 2: so as per the menu this should have marinaded beef skirt, flanked short ribs, sweetbread (), local chorizos, morcilla (chorizo made by cow blood) served with salad and flatbread. What we got was two squares of sweetbread,, two small pieces of short ribs, a square of chicken breast, a 5 inch chorizo and a 5 inch morcilla some chopped salad for $140. No flavor, burned on the grill even though was asked to be medium well. No marinade was there. Tried to put some of the chimichurri and salsa criolla on it and anything could take away the terrible flavor. I didn't eat, my friend knows how much I love food and I didn't ate more than a piece of the flattened bread which was nice after dusting off most of the seeds that they placed over which I think it is too much for the portion of bread. 4. To finalize we brought a cheesecake from Cannelle that is right around the block and became the hit of the night. Yessss the dessert from another restaurant. We pay $20 to cut it and that is what I ate the whole night a piece a flat bread, a glass of sangria boxed wine and a piece of cake. I spent $120 with tips for only that I was able to eat. This was the more disgusting and terrible meal of my life. This is not and Argentinian cuisine and it doesn't worth the price. The restaurant was closing at 9 so around 8:10 they were coming to the table every minute. It was the worst. The two stars in service go for Antony he gave an outstanding service but the rest was bad. Antony please find another restaurant to work. This place is bad and you will never get the tip you deserve. On top of that the Chef Owner, which was not seen in the place, come after to dismiss our review instead of taking actions to improve service to the level of the prices. read more

We made a reservation for 5:30 but didn't really need it. This was for the 4 of us and we didn't realize that the shared plates are more appetizer sized, but we ended up being full anyway. Red snapper: a big portion that is mostly de-boned. The grapefruit sauce was good with this, although I do wish there was a little more grapefruit with this. Skirt steak: the clear standout. The best skirt steak I've had. It has so much flavor that I thought I didn't need the chimichurri, but it somehow added even more flavor. I'd come back just for this. The pomme puree was good too. Empanada basket: one of each type of Empanada. The spinach/cheese was the best, then the beef, then the crab which was surprising since I generally like seafood the most. Lemon pepper chicken wings: the flavor was good and this was very crispy but friends thought it was too crispy at times with not enough meat for many pieces. read more

In honor of Anthony Bourdain's birthday, I have to get a food review out there... There's something gloriously primal about R40 in Long Island City -- it's the kind of place Anthony Bourdain would have adored: no-nonsense, meaty, smoky, and soulful. From the second you step past the whiskey-bar glow and exposed brick, that scent of wood-fired embers hits you from the open kitchen. It's like being beckoned into a ritual before you've even sat down. As you walk into the sleek, long dining room built from earthy woods, dangling greenery, and warm light, a custom Argentine parrilla dominates the space, staring you down with meats sizzling over open coals. When the weather's right, you spill out into their backyard patio--a seasonal oasis where smoke drifts through the branches. The restaurant lives by the creed of "everything meant to be shared." Start off properly with chunky empanadas--think filet mignon and raisins or pork shoulder with potatoes. Let them lay the groundwork. Before you head towards the more guttural grill hits, make a pitstop at the Diver Scallops - the charred edges, tender centers and briny golden discs are a graceful interlude, proof that R40's fire can be tender, nuanced, and elegant. Then follow your nose towards the chimichurri being laid upon the skirt steak, beautifully charred and served tender with a bright, herbal kick. Amidst the roar of the Argentinian parrilla, the wood‐fired octopus emerges not as an afterthought, but as a testament to fire's primal romance. Market‑fresh tentacles arrive charred just enough--kissed by smoke, tender in heart, with that ideal resistance that says, "I was cooked with respect." It's served simply, prolifically: a small plate that feels grand, a ritual opener for those initiated or curious. Pair it with the Arroz Negro which hides one of their most seductive pairings: large prawns, tender calamari, saffron aioli and black rice with that paella‑meets‑risotto vibe. Perfectly balanced and romantic. Bourdain respected a good host, and R40 wears its hospitality like a badge of honor. The cocktails--from Westlight consultant Sami Hamarneh--strike just the right note: fresh, playful, and not overthought. The folks here aren't flashy, but they treat you like they would an old friend in their own living room. R40 is more than a restaurant--it's a communal feast centered around fire. It manages to evoke Argentina without pretending to be anything other than honest: wood, smoke, meats, hospitality. There's a rawness here that Bourdain would've relished--the work, the sweat, the shared plates, the stories spinning across tables. This is Queens cuisine at its elemental best: rough, respectful, and real. Skip the frills. Grab a friend. Order too much. Drink something bold. Let the embers guide you. read more

R40 absolutely delivered. From the moment we walked in, the vibe felt intentional without trying too hard: warm lighting, a lively room, and that perfect "busy but not chaotic" energy where you can tell the kitchen is humming and the staff is in control. It's the kind of place that works whether you're doing a date night, a small group dinner, or just sitting at the bar for a couple rounds and "accidentally" ordering more food than planned. read more

I went back to R40 a few weeks ago. It had been a few years since I had gone, but I'd been meaning to go for a while. The restaurant is still nicely decorated, with a long, somewhat narrow indoor space, and an outdoor dining area in the back. The service was great, and our waiter was really friendly. This time, I had: Mushroom and Spinach Empanada (mozzarella, gruyere, parmigiano reggiano, bechamel) (4.5/5): This was a really good empanada. The crust was flaky and buttery, and not dry at all. The ratio of dough to filling was great. The filling itself was really good. Vegetarian Potato Gnocchi (arugula pesto, parmigiano reggiano) (4.5/5): This gnocchi was excellent. I don't typically like gnocchi, but I enjoyed this one a lot. The gnocchi were soft with a little bite, and the pesto was tasty. Chicken Milanesa (4.5/5): This is a large portion of chicken that is best shared. It comes with a salad on the side, which was really good. I enjoyed this a lot. Overall, I had a great experience at R40. I'm so glad it's in the neighborhood, and I will keep returning. read more

Argentine restaurant. Seemed like the signature item was the parrillada but we didn't have the appropriate appetite for a full meat platter so we ordered a la carte. The parrillada seemed like the best choice value wise. We started with the mushroom and spinach empanada. We thought it was great but I thought the dough and texture was more in line with a British style pie than an empanada. Plenty of filing. Delicious and flakey crust. I rest my case: small pie, not empanada. I had a mezcal margarita. Served over crushed ice with a dried lemon slice. Interesting interpretation. For the main course, we shared the skirt steak and the pesto gnocchi. Both were super. Steak was cooked exactly as we ordered it. Plenty of chimichurri too offering an abundance of flavor. Dish was definitely on the savory side. Gnocchi was served with ample pesto. There was so much pesto that we ordered bread to mop everything up. It eat more like a macaroni in my opinion. For dessert we had the flan. One of the best flans that we've had. It was served with an entire heaping of caramel. I think the dessert alone might be destination worthy. I only noticed one restroom which was spacious and handicap accessible. Service was excellent. Very friendly and attentive. Pacing of the food was good too. read more

To my surprise, I came back to find the restaurant had a largely new menu! I love restaurants that change up their selection periodically. My new favorite dishes were the arroz negro and hand cut fries. The butterflied Black Sea bass was delicious and cooked beautifully, but I was surprised that it was bone in. Usually, a filleted or butterflied dish is deboned, so that was an unpleasant surprise. Also, we came in and ordered an appetizer and two entrées. We got our appetizer right away, but we were there for almost 2 hours before we got our entrée. Our waitress apologized for the wait, but didn't offer us a drink or discount or anything for the crazy wait time. That was disappointing. read more

Came to this quaint spot for a friends birthday. The dishes are tapas-style and meant to be shared. We came on a saturday and there was cherry focaccia on the menu - didnt love it but everyone else really enjoyed it - Its a bit dessert-y. We also ordered the parillada which was a platter of assorted meats including sweet breads, morcilla, steak, and also came with a salad. the rest of the table ordered steaks and everything was cooked well. We shared a chocolate dessert for the birthday girls and enjoyed their unique cocktails. The backyard is lovely, however, there were a lot of flies in and around our food. we had to swat aggressively to eat without being annoyed. read more

Miguel the manager bartender extraordinaire did his thang. Even while being slammed he made sure everyone was taken care of and felt at home. The drinks were great flavorful. Empenadas are a great start. They are super tasty. Groovin Latino/ jazz vibes, just loud enough to set an upbeat mood. Mix that with an edgy garage style window front fasade, fab drinks and a menu that tastes as good as it looks and you've got r40. don't miss this LIC pearl with Miguel ! The best steak I've had in NYC... at least in a really long time. We tried the ribeye special and my god... the mayo? it came with was so good too. I would definitely recommend the ribeye for two if you're a meat person. Had so much left over for breakfast the next morning too. The focaccia was fine- not if you don't like thick bread though. The potato salad was also fine but I'm telling you that steak. Must try. The servers were amazing and always checking in, refilling drinks, and replacing cutlery. They even brought out the steak before they cooked it as a little preview. In terms of the ambiance, it was such a cute date spot (so many two seaters dining when I went). We love an open kitchen concept too. Oh and lastly the music was so so good. Highly recommend. read more

R40 is a sexy, intimate Argentinian restaurant located in Queens. This is a great special occasion or date spot with an open kitchen. Out waitress was super friendly, gave great suggestions, and was able to help us make substitutions on the menu. For a Michelin star restaurant, I definitely expected a *little* more attention with the service (ie refilling water, clearing the plates) Housemade Focaccia: this was probably one of the best focaccias I've had. It's hard to make focaccia light and airy, but F40 did not disappoint. The crust was light and crusty, while the inside was soft and fluffy. It didn't feel too heavy from the olive oil either. I was delighted that it had a pop of sweet from blueberries and grapes baked on the top. Paradilla for Two: we ordered this and shared it among three people, and STILL had leftovers! We subbed out the blood sausage and sweet bread for extra short ribs and chorizo. The short ribs were definitely the star of the show- cooked to perfection, seasoned perfectly, and elevated with the homemade chimichurri sauce. The chicken was so tender it fell off of the bone and the chorizo was soft and Smokey. Would definitely order again. Chicken Milanesa: basically reminded me of a chicken parm. This was a HUGE serving of schnitzel-style chicken that could definitely be shared amongst three or four people. Clarito Cosmo: a delicious cosmo! No complaints. read more

We walked in on a Thursday night with no reservations and got seated right away. They have an open kitchen concept which made us feel at home. The server was attentive and patient as it took us a while to decide what to try. They switched out some menu items so a lot of the pictures of the things we wanted they didn't have. The empanada basket lets you try all three types (spinach mushroom, filet mignon, and seafood) our favorites are also in that respective order. I'm not a big fan of steak but we decided to try it anyways and it was the best I've had. It was done perfectly. The crab pasta was okay a little too acidic for my liking but not super bad. Nice Argentinean steakhouse in LIC with a large selection of Malbec wines. Booking a reservation online was easy and we were promptly seated upon arrival by very friendly staff. The skirt steaks were surprisingly very pricey for the type of meat cut ($55 each) but they were delicious and came with a side of baby bok choy and potatoes sitting atop a tasty puree. Also ordered a bottle of heavy bodied Malbec ($72) which paired nicely with the steaks. Overall, I really like this restaurant and I'm glad to have it in LIC... Just wish that they either (A) upped the type of meat cut for that price (e.g. you can get a Prime NY Sirloin at Keen's for $62) or (B) lowered their price for a simple skirt steak. read more

I'm not sure why they have such high reviews as was a bit pricey. The service wasn't as great as I hoped it would be for what one has to pay. They need to hire more servers to help out. My suggestion is to make reservations before going there as they don't typically have room for walk-ins except for at the bar. Unto the food that I ordered were the Crispy Pork Belly - not enough Pork Belly but it was very flavorful. It came in zesty Brussel Sprouts Slaw, Chicharron, Pickled Green Apples, Caraway Seeds, and Celery Root Puree. Ordered the 16oz, 30 day dry aged NY Strip Steak which wasn't that great especially for the price that you pay. On the side got the Papas Provenzal which are French fries, Parmesan, Garlic and Parsley. The sauce on the side was really good which was garlic butter. Last but not least was the dessert which was the Matcha Panna Cotta - it's Coconut Cake, Passion Fruit & Yuzu Curd, and Toasted Merengue. The dessert was amazing!! It was savory and sweet. read more

Such a hidden gem in LIC. This place is so far my favorite place in LIC!! 5/5 ambiance. Could come here for a date night or just a good night our with your friends (: 5/5 food. All the dishes we ordered were SO good. We were recommended the empanadas and arroz negro, both of which were so good and flavorful. The Arroz Negro had a smoky, seafood flavor and such good texture. We were also recommended the Matcha Panna Cotta and it exceeded our expectations as well! There is a good blend of texture and flavors with this, and it's not like other panna cottas that I had in the past. 4/5 service. Our waitress was very friendly and recommended such good dishes to us. Once it got more busy during prime dinner time, she didn't check up on us as often, but other than that, everything was good. Other workers come around and make sure that you always have enough water and take away the finished plate once you are done. I liked how attentive they were! Would definitely keep this place bookmarked and recommend to my friends when they visit LIC (: read more

I went here a while ago with a group and I had my high hopes for another good Argentine spot and we ordered a similar menu here (essentially mirroring the Eat Like a Gaucho) and I found the main dish a lot worse here. The place has a pretty large back area with a nice view of the kitchen. The service was pretty friendly though they were a bit pushy with ordering more. To drink I went with the Patagonia Spritz with Lambrusco, Aperol, orange, strawberry, lemon, and club soda. Lambrusco is an Italian red and the one on the wine list outside of the cocktail is Lini 910 Labrusca so I presume this was the red one used. This was therefore a red wine spritz and while I am usually not a red wine person, the sweetness of the wine and Aperol paired with the fruits and it had a nice presentation and I would recommend it for red sangria fans. We started with the Seared Provoleta with confit Sicilian tomatoes, oregano, and grilled baguette. The cheese was nicely seared and it went well with the toasty baguette. There could have been more tomato. The portion size is perhaps a bit small but for $14, it was pretty reasonably priced. The same cannot be said for our main which was the Parillada For Two. Said parillada consisted of skirt steak, two short ribs, sweetbread, chorizo, blood sausage, and a confit chicken leg quarter served with wood-fired spring onions, pepperoncini peppers, market salad, house-made flatbread, chimichurri, and salsa criolla. The dish was presented nicely with the tasty flatbread (which had I believe oregano on it) laying on top of it. The skirt steak was thin and tough while the short ribs were bony and also tough. The sweetbreads were overcooked leaving them chewy. The chorizo and blood sausage were both surprisingly good with the former having a good bite and good spices and the morcilla/blood sausage having both good flavor and texture. Of all things, the chicken leg was the best part being moist and well flavored. The market salad was also surprisingly tasty with more variety from the watermelon radish and a nice dressing. I don't exactly go for a parillada for chicken and salad and all the steaks were both not reasonably portioned and also tough and chewy. For $105, I expected way better. I know this is a fancy neighborhood but the parillada here was both bad and overpriced. I liked the presentation whether was the appetizer, the drink, or the main course being covered by that nice bread but all of that is style not substance. They're trying to be a bit fancy here but if the basics aren't done right, the whole meal is let down especially if everyone in our group was paying around $70 not even including the cocktail. If you're going to go for a parillada and you're in Queens, stick with the cheaper stuff in Corona or Elmhurst and if you want the fancy version, go to Balvanera. 2.5 rounded down for the prices. read more

If you read nothing else: get the Panna Cotta if it means you need to doggy bag something. Trust me. Also, a disclaimer: I have higher-than-average salt sensitivity. You know what I really like about R40? Their meals and plates are very thoughtfully executed and composed. The accompaniments to the dishes offer various complementary flavors and textures (in perfect proportions, too) that round out and balance the dish. Pork Belly - The pork belly itself was flavorful, savory, and and cooked nicely! However, I found it just a tiny bit chewy (forgivable with pork) and a rather salty. This was served on a bed of brussels sprout slaw, with a border of green apple slices and a 'sauce' (for lack of a better word), of celery root puree, all topped with a crisp pork rind. The apples gave some gentle sweetness and tartness, the brussels sprouts freshness, puree earthiness, and the pork rind a very satisfying CRUNCH! I should mention I am typically not a fan of brussels sprouts, but that's a personal preference than an issue with the dish. Skirt Steak - Just like with the pork belly, this was a marvelously put together dish. The potatoes, bok choy, onion, and sauce all worked together marvelously to round out the steak with starchiness and freshness. As for the steak, it was perfectly cooked to the requested medium-rare. However, I found the steak was too salty for my taste, and notably chewy. When paying almost $50 for a piece of meat, I would hope it would be a heavenly melt-in-your-mouth kind of deal, or at least, not chewy...and this wasn't it. Reading others' reviews, I think the kitchen may have had some bad luck with this one :( But then there was the dessert! The Panna Cotta was a beautiful layered amalgamation of deliciousness. It was the perfect level of sweet, had different notes coming in from the curd, the coconut, and those tiny little spheres I want to very cautiously say are chocolate. The service was fast, friendly, and very kind, and the location has a date night kind of vibe! read more

I've had my eye on this place and when I saw there was a last minute opening on a Saturday night, I was sold! I had made the reservation for outdoors; about an hour beforehand I received a call from the host about how he noticed the weather isn't looking great and would it be OK to move our reservation indoors, which I accepted. Masks are no longer required, which honestly was a little jolting, but it was also wonderful to be greeted with an actual smile! Once I stepped in, I really did feel very comfortable. The space and vibe is elegant and casual and just so comfortable. There was hand sanitizer on the table and a QR code to view the menu. Also the tables were nicely spread out, so we definitely had our space. After looking at the cocktail list, I knew I wanted to try one, because they all sounded so good. We opt'd for the Paluso Punch and The Spritz, both were beautifully made and delicious. On to the main event! We started out with the Marinated Artichoke which were wood fire grilled and served with house made ricotta, roasted hazelnuts and charred onions. I can't even convey how incredibly amazing this dish was. I would order it again in a heartbeat; seriously don't sleep on this one. We also got a the Crab & Shrimp Empanada which was excellent. For the entree we got the Parrillada for Two which is basically grilled meat and served with a flatbread, some charred scallions, pepperocini and green salad. The skirt steak and short rib were my favorites, so flavorful and well cooked; followed by the sweetbreads and chorizo, which both had lovely flavors. The dish also included chicken which was good and some black chorizo. The salad and flatbread were the perfect accompaniments to the dish. I was so full and really thought I had no more room, until the waiter mentioned espresso stracciatella gelato. Holy cow, it was fabulous and the perfect end to an amazing meal. Speaking of amazing, the staff at R40 is incredible; everyone from the host to the waiter to the guy filling your water. They are so professional, friendly and skilled. I would recommend R40 to anyone looking for a fabulous evening. read more

This place was a lot to unpack, and unfortunately a big disappointment. I will highlight the positives and negatives below. For reference, we ordered the parrillada, fries (yum), spinach empanadas (good, but nothing special) and a the Peluso Punch (thumbs up!). The positives: The service! -We came in because the host standing outside was super welcoming and talked the restaurant up as we were walking by. They definitely deserve a raise and may be instrumental/influential in attracting patrons (listen up management -The servers were also impeccable about attention to detail and accommodating requests. The were great at making suggestions, taking orders promptly and explaining the menu items. The decor! -This place is legit gorgeous and has a really cool vibe. If you like your churrasco served with a Cardi B playlist, this is the spot for you. The negatives: The Food! -Ultimately this is why you dine out and the reason we will most likely never come back. * We asked for chicken in the place of a morcilla (which is typically cheaper) but we were told we can only replace it with another sausage so we opted for chorizo. My partner doesn't eat pork for religious reasons and I think the restaurant could have bended its policy to accommodate that, especially since were asking for a cheaper cut of meat. We were also upcharged for the chorizo, which was served along with the item we asked to replace? That's wasteful on the restaurant's part. -The chicken was also extremely fatty and inedible. The price: -This place was very expensive, and given the quality and quantity of the meal, it didn't match up. I have been to better, more authentic and less expensive Argentinian steakhouses throughout the city that provided much better food. read more

Currently open with reservations ONLY, no walk-ins. Although it wasn't hard for us to get a table for 4 within 15 mins on a Thursday for dinner. Service was top notch! We felt very welcomed by the employees from the moment we walked in til we left. A+ to the hostess who pointed out the location of the restroom (and the wine cellar) as we were making our way to the table. Such gesture was absolute necessary but I've never had someone who'd done so til R40! The drinks were on the lighter end of alcohol for most since they weren't consistent. We ordered the same drink twice but they came out different. We opted out for beers the second round instead, no big deal. The MUST TRY dish that I would come back over and over to get is the definitely the Arroz Negro! Presentation, texture, flavors, everything about this dish was immaculate. We devoured this dish within minutes! And definitely end your meal with the house-made espresso gelato. That rich flavor of coffee with small chunks of chocolate, bravo R40! Will be back soon read more

Honestly was mixed. I liked the atmosphere but for an Argentinian restaurant the chimichurri is scarce and the steak was dry/burnt and under salted. The empanadas were not traditional and the papas provinciales were truffle fries not even close. No parsley garlic I can sense. The waiter upsold my group to where there was too much excess. The bass was great. The focaccia and drinks were amazing. read more

Very nice place, great atmosphere. Went on a rainy day so it was very quiet and not too many people. The mussels and Spanish chorizo was my favorite. I would go again just for that! I ate almost all of it and gave my boyfriend one or two to try because I didn't want to share it. The choripan was my boyfriends favorite. It was delicious. The chicken milanesa was great but there wasnt anything that stood out too much. Overall great food and drinks :) read more
