As we turned the corner, the best word I can describe this place is inviting. The white walls and the openness of the outdoor dining with the trees right across the street was a nice environment to be in after being cooped up in my apartment all day. I was surprised because when I first entered, it felt more like I was at a friend's house than a restaurant. The interior is cozy and inviting and magnified by the hospitality of the staff. I've been here a few times and the food is really good. Their pisco sour specifically takes the cake. However, I am a bit disappointed because the alcohol quantity has decreased by over half. Otherwise, this used to be a great place both during the day or at night. If you're looking for a cozy restaurant to enjoy a nice lunch with your SO or a date night with your friends, I'd recommend trying this place out !

Jora Restaurant & Bar never disappoints! A Long Island City Peruvian staple that I'd recommend to anyone in the area. They've absolutely nailed the ceviche, and their happy hour drinks pair perfectly with it. The empanadas were lovely, our favorite was the chicken. Overall, I'd love to come again.

What a great spot, their menu is small enough for you to understand that they take their cuisine seriously The ambience is classy and fancy, their dishes were delicious, honestly one of the best ceviches I've tried in a long time. The service was fast and their suggestions were impeccable! Will definitely come back and suggest you to do that! Ask for their cocktail menu, you wont regret it!

We went as a party of 5. The place was well decorated. We got our coats checked. They got was seated and the our sever was welcoming and helped us go through the specials. The menu was an online one where we scan the batches to read it. For appetizers we got the Grilled Octopus and the Crispy Yucca. For the mains we got Aji De Gallina, Lomo Saltado and Grilled Ribeye. Lomo Saltado flavors were great but the beef was on the tough side. The ribeye was soft and thin. We asked for medium but I think it was closer to medium rare. The portions were a good size. The food was absolutely delicious. This was my first time eating Peruvian food so I can't compare it to other Peruvian food but on its own it was amazing. We cleared out all of it and were a good level of full. I would recommend and go back again! Additionally, its close to Vernon and Court Square Stations. There is street parking if you want to try your luck.

I really enjoyed my meal with Jora. Interesting menu, quite a variety something for everyone. The restaurant is intimate inside and has a covered patio for outdoor dining. The bar is small and has some seating. Service was solid, water was refilled for our guests several times during the meal. One knock is they do not carry Jack Daniel's. I went with a fantastic Irish Whiskey. The ceviche was outstanding The smoked chicken croquettes were probably the best thing I had, highly recommended. The octopus with potatoes worked very well. The rib steak with potatoes and broccolini was perfect. No complaints from the table. We did not have dessert. There is a parking lot which in LIC is a 200 to 1 shot. I will be back

Hidden gem in LIC where the food is amazing, staff is accommodating and the ambiance makes you feel like you're on vacation! This spot is located on the corner of 47th street so you can miss it. One of the best things about this restaurant is directly across the street. There is free parking for about four cars. The rest is regular street parking. But coming here for lunch. It was easy to park for free in one of those spots. I asked for recommendations from the waitress and what she recommended did not fail. My guest and I left here fully satisfied, and will be returning for dinner to see what the nighttime vibes are all about. I'm interested in trying one of the dishes. The bartender stated that he makes with Budweiser beer!?! Can't wait to go bake. Go here!!!

Jora is an upscale Peruvian restaurant. I enjoyed the food, chicken with rice dish. You only get one plantain slice however. It was disappointing that the appetizers are the same price point as the main dishes. The pulpo is all cut up into small pieces which seem like they are hiding how much pulpo you actually get. This place is nice but only for special occasions.

Jora is a refreshing relief from the subtropical hot mess that is NYC summers. It's hard to eat anything heavy these days and Jora really saved the day with their fresh ceviche and balanced appetizers and entrees. Not to mention, their vibe is perfect for the summer. Think of a colonial townhouse you would see on an island. Then add splashes of modern. Both casual and hip. Our group of five was immediately seated at 8:30pm on a Saturday and service was friendly and quick. The Ceviche Carretilla is 10/10 with varying textures, balanced acidity, spice, and fresh raw fish. The Grilled Octopus is another strong contender with a nice char while staying tender. Paired with a tasty sauce atop a well seasoned Yukon potato? Phenomenal. The Pastel de Chocla brings it home with creamy, cheesy, beefy goodness. The entrees that followed were pretty good too but with a few hiccups. The Lomo Saltado sauce was great but the beef was slightly chewy. The Aji de Gallina was good, but I felt like there was something missing which I couldn't put my finger on. Definitely add rice as an add on to your entrees because the rice itself is delicious. To end the meal, our group shared the Lucuma Ice Cream and Lucuma Panna Cotta which were both delightful in taste and texture. It was our first time having lucuma flavored anything and it was caramel-y and buttery in a way you wouldn't expect a fruit to be. It was a crime that we didn't try the pisco, but my partner and I will definitely be back for date night. No promises of reporting back.

    Grilled Ribeye

Classic ceviche- 3/5 The fish was very tough and sinewy and therefore hard to enjoy. The sauce is very flavorful, tangy and sour as ceviche is. However the texture of the fish made this a pass for me Grilled ribeye 5/5 Medium rare texture cooked perfectly and the chimichurri sauce was delicious. Highly recommend Aji de Gallina 4/5 The garlic rice w choclo was actually my favorite part of the dish. The chicken was a bit dry which takes off one star. Otherwise flavor was great Quick service, casual but very bright and pretty ambiance. Overall pretty good, I wish they would work to perfect the moisture and texture of the fish in their ceviche and the chicken in the Aji Gallina.

This is a pretty aesthetic yet delicious Peruvian restaurant in the Queens area closer to the Manhattan side. We went here Saturday lunch as a party of 4 and did not need to wait for a table. It's walk in only at that time, but the ample seating inside makes this a nice candidate for a last minute meal planning. We ordered the following: - Ceviche Clasico - one of the better ceviches out there and has the usual accompaniments - Grilled octopus - fairly decent sized octopus, the aioli is interesting, something I wouldn't normally prefer - Lomo saltado - I wish they provided cooking preference for the steak since it was cooked well done and rough. The fries were also a bit disappointing. - Aji de gallina - fairly heavy sauce but the chicken is pretty good - not dry at all. We opted to pay $4 for a jasmine rice add on that also had some corn in it. The rice was very buttery and goes quite well with the dish. Service is good - the food is brought at a good pace and water refills by the jug were present. The food here is good for the most part but most importantly for those seeking aesthetics, this is also the place to be. If we had more stomach space, the causa looked quite appealing.

Jora is a gem of a spot in LIC and situated in a prime location, just a short walk away from Gantry. Can't believe I haven't gone here sooner, but it's now always an option for South American cuisine (although one of the more elevated options). The restaurant fills up pretty quick for dinner, but there's also bar seating in the back if you want to come for Happy Hour. We ordered some cocktail off the HH menu; they're about a few bucks cheaper than regular price. All the cocktails were delicious, but also dangerous because the alcohol taste is completely masqueraded. We also ordered a few pitchers of sangria later on, which sadly is not on the HH menu (still enjoyable nonetheless). Ordered a ceviche mixto and seafood paella between two people. The dishes were rather small, but I thought it was enough to satiate both of us. We were given very generous pieces of grouper, squid, scallop and octopus in the ceviche -- all nicely seasoned with some lime juice! For the texture enthusiasts, there was a pleasant crunch from big corn kernels and refreshing crisp from the onions that paired with it. The paella appeared small initially and seemed more like a personal pan, but was more than enough for both of us because of its richness. It was also served with a generous heaping of seafood. Loved that I could taste and feel each grain of rice, with an even coating of flavor and creaminess -- a standard for good paella. Our server was attentive and checked in on us regularly. Despite it being busy, we never felt rushed at the bar tables. Great experience overall! I would find every excuse to come back here with friends, especially with the warm weather (happy hour szn) approaching.

We ordered 2 small dishes, 1 main, and 1 dessert for 2 people and left really full. The ceviche was fresh, tangy, and delicious! The croquettes were also good. The smoked chicken is unique and paired nicely with the potato croquettes. The braised beef with cheese was too sweet for me and I got palette fatigue from it. I was able to get through the dish by pouring the ceviche sauce on it for some acidity. We ordered a side of white, garlic infused rice for the main course. The rice was cooked perfectly. The meat went well with the sauce, which reminded me of a combination of ketchup and vinegar. The Panna cotta was more like a custard pudding. It was creamy and delicious! At first glance, I thought the prices were steep, but our bill came out to a reasonable amount. The portion is bigger than what I expected, which made up for the steep cost since we ordered less dishes.

I was excited to try Peruvian food for the first time and had an open mind. I tried 9 items and probably really enjoyed 3, 3 more were ok, and another 3 I wasn't a fan. Most items seemed great, but there was one ingredient or two in it that threw it off but I won't fault Jora for that because the other ingredients were great and it was just preference. Like powdered sugar on empanadas. I just couldn't fully enjoy my dinner. Even their 2 out of 3 dessert options weren't to my liking. It's too tropical and fruity. They have a pretty good happy hour with $6 beers and a few inexpensive cocktail options. I didn't really enjoy the ambiance and plates. And free parking is unheard of in LIC.

The biggest question then became, where to go? We needed a place that was relatively easy to get to that would hold close to 100 people. Jungly was a contender for several reasons - it's location, size, vibe, and menu all seemed to check off. It also helped that I had done business with the owner previously at one of his other spots. It seemed like the natural choice, so I went ahead with the booking. Jungly is located in LIC - it's a pretty convenient spot as its close to the LIRR and the subway. Parking can be a challenge, but luckily I found a spot only a block away. The space itself is nicely set up - walking in you're immediately greeted by the bar area with dining areas both to the left and the right. Due to our size, they closed the place to the public and we were able to freely roam the bar area and one of the dining rooms. In addition to standard tables, they have some lounge space and high tops by the bar. The vibe is somewhat modern - a black/grey color scheme paired with neon and golds. It looks like the space could easily be converted to a club-like atmosphere. Since we were here for a private event, the food was set up buffet style - we chose three apps, four mains, and two sides. Ultimately, for apps we chose pita bread with dips, steak tacos, and shrimp tacos. For mains we chose fried chicken sliders, smashed beef sliders, cacio e pepe, and roasted chicken. For sides, we got fries and Brussels sprouts. In general, all of the food was tasty; the strongest dishes were the tacos, fries, and the chicken tacos. The tacos were generously filled, the fries were the crispy skin style, and the chicken sliders were nice and crispy. The weakest for me was the cacio e pepe - not much flavor and just not really a standout IMO. My communication with management to set up the event were a little staccato, though in the end everything worked out. For the most part, my communication with them was consistent in the days leading up to the event. Service the night of the event was overall good - they were very accessible but I found that they could have replenished the food a little faster in response to the rate it was being taken from the buffet. The bar, on the other hand, was great - both in service and variety of liquor available. Overall, we had a great event at Jungly. They were professional, fair, and delivered on the goods. I would definitely consider hosting another event there, or dine here on my own.

On a Friday night, good energy behind the bar makes a huge difference, and that was completely missing. I ordered a margarita, which is one of the simplest and most common cocktails to make. I asked for it really sweet with plenty of salt on the rim. Instead, it came out barely sweet and with almost no salt. For a $17 margarita, I expected much better.
