Mercato LIC is a fairly new addition to the neighborhood, and I really enjoyed the inviting atmosphere. The service was excellent and everyone seemed genuinely focused on making sure guests were comfortable and well taken care of, which added to the overall experience. The menu offers all the Italian classics. We started with the focaccia bread and the meatballs which are simple but well done, and the bread paired nicely with the marinara sauce. For my entrée, I tried the squid ink pasta with seafood, but it had a slightly burnt flavor that didn't quite work for me. In contrast, the pizza was a highlight and the thin crust, perfectly crunchy, and a great balance of toppings. At 12 inches, it's an ideal portion for one person. For dessert, I had the lemon sorbet served in a real lemon, and it was a refreshing, bright finish to the meal. Overall, Mercato LIC shows a lot of promise. I'd definitely return, but next time I'd skip the pasta and go for the pizza and dessert again.

The staff here are truly phenomenal. This is such a cute place on the corner, we went on a 100° day, but when it's not the temperature of the sun, sitting outside on the corner would be really lovely. Drinks? Amazing. Extensive cocktail/wine menu. Food? The Caesar with grilled lettuce may be the best I've ever had and I don't say that lightly. I frankly would have been happy with just the bread and oil - the olive oil is *good* olive oil. We also got a pizza which I would get again in a heartbeat. I think I could blindly choose anything on the menu and I would be thrilled. It is a tad pricey and by that, I mean it's just as expensive as anywhere else in LIC so I guess I can't complain too much. Excited to come back!!

I came to the place on Monday as I wanted to have some alcohols. Happy Hour prices are so good and I enjoyed the grilled vegetables very much! They served focaccia which was tasty as well! So comfortable and nice I could have there. I will come back very soon.

Cute new place on Vernon! Very warm and cozy, but still modern. I recommend the bruschetta and caponata for apps--these stood out to me over the others. Had the Orecchiette Con Salsiccia as my main. Full of flavor but not heavy for me! Portion was huge and I took half of it home for lunch the next day. A coworker liked their Parpadelle Ai Funghi--several vegetarian options on their menu so everyone gets to enjoy. We also tried the Pizza Mercato which I LOVED. The mozzarella was fresh and the sauce is on the slightly sweeter side (my personal preference) so this was an elevated pizza for me. I'll never turn down an aperol spritz and these were super yummy!

We went here last night to celebrate our anniversary and it was amazing! We ordered the pomegranate martini and the old fashioned and both were delicious. We ordered the fritto misto, the prosciutto e rucola pizze and the carbonara pasta. The bread (focaccia) was so warm and fresh. The pasta was al dente. Would definitely come back here again. The owner and the waitress we had were also really nice and welcoming!

Sat at a table, chairs and space comfortable. Delicious food, not overly salted or buttered/oil, with plenty of exciting choices to share. Excellent ambience and Edison lighting thru out the restaurant is on point. Warm and cozy, staff inviting and friendly. Noise level healthy - not a quiet spot, however in a good way because it's jovial and pleasant. Definitely will be back to have a romantic bite and drink cozied up at the bar. A welcome addition to the neighborhood!

this place is great! drinks were solid, and the crust on the pizza was nice and crispy! before our server put down the tiramisu, he said, "be careful... it's very delicious." and it really was.

I especially love the outdoor seating in the warmer months, along the side street-its so quaint and charming. There is tons of seating, both inside and outside-which is hard to come by for NYC coffee shops, so definitely another reason to come by here, if you want to sit down and enjoy your coffee with a friend, or do some work while doing so. The coffee is great here, and so is the food, based upon the few items I tried! I've gotten both hot and iced coffee drinks here, as well as an almond cornetto and the Salame + Formaggio. What makes this spot even better is that they serve wine all day and evening long, and the prices for a glass of wine is very reasonable, compared to lots of other spots in the area! This is definitely becoming a go-to spot for myself.

I'm not a wine person generally speaking so I can't speak on how good the wine was, but I didn't dislike anything that I had, so that's a good sign! Service was friendly and consistent. Overall, had a positive experience.

Though they didn't serve the sprite-infused red wines I enjoyed in Spain, they did serve white sangrias, which were light, sweet, and very enjoyable. The toasted bread with tomatoes was bright and summery. The grilled asparagus was cooked wonderfully al dente, with a char that added a nice smoky flavor against the clean taste of the drizzled olive oil. The beef skewers were well seasoned and fatty. While the food was Spanish, the prices certainly were not! It was a tad pricey. There wasn't anything below $13 for their small bites. Nonetheless, the food was good, the service prompt, and the outdoor vibes quite lovely. I would go there again.

Regardless of the hot weather, I decided on a table outside. Each bite of the tapas was delightful for what it was and I ended up ordering an extra tapa because I couldn't make up my mind. I chose the shrimp in garlic sauce (oil) that I sopped up with the accompanied bread, the dates wrapped in bacon (they do their own twist by filling it with honey ricotta stuffing and finishing it with a red wine reduction), I also went with cod fish croquettes (the perfect crispness on the outside and a delectable creamy texture of fish inside), I can never pass up the patatas bravas, so, I got those too. I had a glass of a beautiful, crisp, white Chardonnay off the menu from Spain. Definitely a must try if you are looking for a quick meal for one. A wonderful experience overall, friendly staff and delightful colors that add to the outside atmosphere. Stoop and the city is also on the same block which is a plus
